i think the main problem with the first picture has to do with the proportions and anatomy of the lower body area aka the neck and shoulders. i'd make the shoulders wider and add some sort of form to the neck so that it looks believable instead of a flat rectangle shape ( maybe make it slimmer a bit too? although that might be just a stylistic choice so you do you). That's the first thing i'd fix because otherwise the head looks too big in comparison to the rest of the body, and it can throw you off

I actually think you did a great job with the eyes, they have a lot of life and that comes from the fact that they are the most rendered part of your piece, which is not a bad thing. The thing is, while it is true that the eyes are the main focal point of a face and portrait in general, that doesn't mean you can neglect the other parts, so i think it is also a consistency issue or not figuring out exactly what sort of style or rendering you want to go with that holds you back (which is totally fine and normal ofc). So let's pick a semi-realistic stylized rendering style for this since this is the vibe i'm getting from this piece.

If that's the style we're going for, then the face should have a bit more form. You have to remember that our facial features ( eyes, nose, lips) are connected with each other via the planes of the face, right? So, for a semirealistic style, revisit your reference and try to idenitify what those planes are and how they connect to those features, and most importantly, where the shadows hit, and just accentuate them more, because at the moment they look like 3rd forms plastered over a 2d surface which is not right, our skin has form as well. Color-wise, don't be afraid to go darker with the shadows, they really make your drawings pop. Without looking at a reference, i'd def add some shadow under the lips, a bit where the lips connect to the nose, under the neck, and in the lower body area.

I'm really trying to avoid the most basic answer which is " practice anatomy !!1! " because everyone can say that however, at the end of the day, this is the main thing the face lacks. And tbvh you don't have to actually know anatomy, you just gotta know some proportions things that make the face look believable enough. I feel like the features are mostly just drawn from the reference without an understanding of the structure behind it. Something tells me that in the reference picture, the person had their head tilted a bit upwards, but here it's kinda flat and the features are just painted without following the motion. Try to draw over your reference picture the vertical and horizontal lines and make up the head shape behind it to figure out the way it is tilting and facing, because the lips, eyes nose, etc will follow that same sort of flow, they're not stationary. I'd also make the eyes a bit smaller, or maybe make the skull bigger bc i think they are touching the outer edge too much now, and also narrow the distance between the nose and lips just a bit. Kinda hard to explain without actually doing it myself. But really, try to play with that, and try getting comfy with drawing 3d forms i know it's easier said than done but..... there really isn't any shortcut unfortunately As for the lineart drawing, yes it's actually pretty solid, i like that duplicate blur thing you did, i'm familiar with that technique and it def has its perks so that's great. Im not an expert on lineart, however here i think there are too many " unnecessary" lines that could easily be omitted (purple). Less is more and all that~ The hair strands at the end feel too stiff and identical (green). If you notice, they all just end in this " V" shape and they rarely overlap thus making the image look flat. Try to break this pattern by introducing more spontaneity aka random hairflies, making the strands overlap, adding more shape variety etc

Make sure that the lines connect properly whenever they meet, and also although you already did it and i think that's great, you can make some lines even thicker, go even further and add even more lineweight. As a general thing, usually, the exterior or contour lines are thicker and whatever it is inside is thinner so experiment with that, you can start from the nose- thicker lines for the nostrils thinner for that nose tip i forgot what it's called and also add thin lines that just hint at the form. Lineart is hardd so i don't blame you, but if you're gonna keep the lineart in, try "shading" with black blocks so to speak, make sure the lineart layer can stand on its own, and pay more attention to the lower part area (neck and shoulders) even if it is less exciting to ink

Introducing... The Tattooer!

[This version is OUTDATED! Please, check the new version here. I updated the workflow, skipping a lot of unnecessary Photoshop editing. It's way faster! I'll leave this old version and files up though, for archiving purposes. But yeah I still totally recommend you use the new version!]

Finally! I’ve been working on this for so long and I couldn’t wait to share it. This is a series of Blender template files already set up to quickly bake textures from The Sims 4 to The Sims 2. Really neat for cc creators! The different Blender files will allow you to:

-Bake body textures from TS4 to TS2 (Female) -Bake body textures from TS4 to TS2 (Male) -Bake body textures from TS4 (Female) to TS2 (Male) -Bake body textures from TS2 (Female) to TS2 (Male) [Bonus!] -Bake head textures from TS4 to TS2 (Face + Scalp) [Experimental]

Check the file names to see which one is which, and the resolution of the baked texture it will give. Download! SFS / GD

Everything you see in the render above was converted using those Blender files. I only did a couple tiny edits to the eyes and lips to fix them. These templates were made mainly to bake and convert tattoos, but there’s more you can do with them if you get creative. I have to say, these are NOT perfect. Check out the eyebrows on the render above. They look a bit wonky compared to the original, don’t they? I left them as is to keep your expectations with these as realistic as possible. Results may vary depending on what you are trying to convert, so! With that in mind, this is all the stuff you will be able to convert almost seamlessly from TS4 to TS2:

-Tattoos. -Other body details such as body hair, scars, freckles, supernatural/occult details… -Body painted underwear and swimwear, as well as some other clothing that’s mostly painted on the body. -Socks, stockings and maybe leggings. -Even skintones! In some areas they will look weird, so I recommend editing and blending them with other existing TS2 skins. -Makeup. Kinda bad but hey it works! Eyeliner and anything that is around the eyes looks terrible for now, but other stuff like blush may look just okay. -Eyebrows and maybe beards. A bit of hit or miss with those. -Hair scalps. Very useful when converting some hairs! Although keep in mind part of that texture might also need to be baked on the face mesh, you know, that hairline makeup stuff.

Got your attention? Nice! Editing some of the textures from TS4 to match the UV mapping in TS2 using a 2D editing program can be incredibly hard. That’s where texture baking in Blender comes to the rescue!

It is recommended you download Blender version 2.91.0, which is the one I use. Don’t worry, it’s free! There’s also 3 Photoshop actions you will need to set up the textures for baking and then putting them back together, because unfortunately Blender doesn’t support transparencies in that baking process, so that takes a couple extra steps to make it work, but I think it’s still pretty fast and easy. And just in case Tumblr manages to blow up or something, I decided to include a pdf with the upcoming tutorial that will guide you step by step with all this process, so if this post gets deleted somehow (I really hope not!), you will still have that pdf as a backup archived.

You can download Blender here. Personally I recommend picking the fourth option, “blender-2.91.0-windows64.zip”, which is a portable version and doesn’t need to be installed. You will also need Sims 4 Studio to extract the original Sims 4 CC textures you want. As for Photoshop… I’m not going to tell you to buy that subscription service and give Adobe some undeserved money, so… yeah, there might be some other options out there to get it (very legit, yes yes).

So, before we begin, let’s clear out some questions you might have. What the heck is this texture baking thing and what does it do? Well, let’s imagine you have a projector and point an image into a blank wall. Then you pick up some brushes and start painting and copying that projected image in that wall. Texture baking is kinda like that when it comes to 3D models. You align two models and match them as closely as you can in shape and form, and once you adjust some parameters and values, Blender does the rest for you: it will give you a new texture for a new model with a different UV map. These files I’m sharing have everything already set up, so it’s a matter of plopping in that Sims 4 texture and you will get that new texture for TS2 in just a few clicks.

This tutorial assumes you know literally nothing about how to use Blender, so if you feel uncomfortable with it, worry no more! This will guide you with pictures showing where you need to click and explaining what is happening. For Sims 4 Studio and Photoshop the process might be a bit less detailed, but still this should be pretty beginner friendly. For this tutorial, I will use some tattoos as an example. Alright, enough with the rambling. Let’s get started!

·EXTRACTING TEXTURES AND EDITING THEM WITH PHOTOSHOP: First things first, you will need to extract as pngs all the textures you want to convert from TS4 using Sims 4 Studio. Once you’ve done that, open them up one by one in Photoshop and run the “No transparency” action. This will remove the alpha channel from the image, getting rid of all the transparency. Go ahead and save a png copy of it. Then run the “Make Alpha” action on those same swatches (from the beginning, make sure you’re not running the action on an already edited swatch!), which will only show the alpha channel of the image in black and white, and save another copy of that. You should have 2 textures for each tattoo swatch. For the “No transparency” action I like to name it BASE (And your swatch number or name), and for the “Make Alpha” action I usually name it ALPHA (And that same swatch number/name). I recommend saving them in different folders named BASE TS4 and ALPHA TS4 respectively to keep it organized. If you want to make this much faster in Photoshop, there’s an automation option in it that allows you to run an action through a batch of files in a folder and then saves it all. I won’t cover how to do it in this tutorial, but you should be able to find it easily on Google by searching something like “Photoshop automate batch”. It’s really powerful and will make your workflow with actions much faster. Definitely recommend learning about that!

·BAKING THE TEXTURES IN BLENDER: PRELIMINARY STEP 1: CONFIGURING BLENDER’S GRAPHICS SETTINGS: Open your preferred Blender file depending on what you’re going to bake and the desired resolution (in this example I’m going to use the AF-body-4t2-1024 file). Before we start messing around in Blender, there’s one thing you should set up. It is a onetime step, and once it’s done, you won’t need to do it again. So, does your computer have a dedicated graphics card? If you don’t know or you’re not sure, just skip to the next step. Configuring Blender so it uses your graphics card instead of your CPU will make the baking render much faster, so it is recommended you set it correctly. If your computer has a dedicated graphics card, click File (1) > Preferences (2) > and on the window that pops up click System (3) > and select CUDA and make sure your graphics card is there and tick it (4). I have an Nvidia Graphics card but your case may vary. Once you’re done, click on the tiny button on the bottom left corner and Save Preferences (5).

PRELIMINARY STEP 2: CHOOSING THE RENDERING DEVICE: Click on the tiny camera button on the right, called Render Properties (1), and on Device (2) select GPU Compute if it’s not already selected. If you’re not sure if you have a graphics card or not, just select CPU. Then select the Material Properties tab (2) and Save your changes, either by pressing Ctrl + S, or clicking File (4) > Save (5). Okay, time to get into the good stuff!

·STEP 1: LOADING YOUR TS4 BASE TEXTURE: In the Material Properties tab, click the folder icon that says Open (1) and on the window that pops up, navigate through your folders and select your first texture. For now we’re going to bake the BASE texture, so go to that folder where you saved the edited “No transparency” image. To navigate easily, the 3 buttons on the top right (2) are for the display mode. They will show your files in list mode, vertical and horizontal, and the one on the right will display the file thumbnails, pretty useful if you want to easily see your images. And the icons on the left side (3) will let you go one folder back and forward, go to the parent directory, and refresh the folder in case you just dropped something new in there. Double click on the image you need and that will load it into the Sims 4 body model, named “ts4 body”.

·STEP 2: SETTING UP YOUR SELECTION AND BAKING THE TEXTURE: On the top right of the screen, you will see the names of the 2 models in the scene. Hold the Ctrl key in your keyboard and left click on the “ts2 body” model (1). If you did it correctly, you should see “ts2 body” in a yellowish orange color, and right down below, “ts4 body” should look more like a red orange. If not, try again by clicking first on ts4 body, and then while holding Ctrl click again on ts2 body. Then switch to the Render Properties tab by clicking the tiny camera icon (2) and click Bake (3). Depending on your screen resolution, you might need to scroll down a bit with your mouse to see the Bake button. Wait a few seconds for it to finish. You will see the progress percentage down on the bottom of your screen. Don’t panic if you notice your computer fans start ramping up, that’s completely normal! As I said in the beginning, using your GPU will bake the textures much faster than the CPU.

·STEP 3: SAVING YOUR NEW TS2 TEXTURE: Once it’s finished, switch to the UV Editing Mode by clicking “UV Editing” on the top of your screen. And there it is: your new texture! You might have to scroll up your mouse wheel a bit to zoom in and see it in all its glory on the left side of the screen. We’re still not done yet though. You need to save it to yet another new folder (always try to keep your stuff organized!).

You can save it by pressing Shift + Alt + S, or clicking on Image* (1) and then Save As… (2). That will pop a window where you’ll need to navigate again and save it somewhere. Give it a proper name (3) and hit Enter to save it… well, Enter doesn’t always work for me for some reason, so if that happens just click Save As Image (4). In this case, I personally like to call it something like “BASE TS2”.

·STEP 4: GOING BACK TO STEP 1: Alright! So you have your new baked base texture, but we still need to bake the alpha channel to give it its transparency. In order to go back to step 1 and start the process once again, click Layout (1), go back to the Material Properties tab (2), select “ts4 body” (3) and click on the folder icon (4) to open and load the alpha texture you did in the beginning in Photoshop.

Then it’s just a matter of repeating the process from step 2: bake the alpha channel and save it again as a new image (watch out, don’t overwrite your previous image!). This one I like to name “ALPHA TS2”. When you’re ready to move on, close Blender without saving. If you see a small check telling you it will save some images, make sure you uncheck it, so you will be able to use it again in the future from the starting point with no issues. I don’t think it really matters if you accidentally save your progress in these files, but I like to keep it clean and fresh so I can do the process where I left it from the beginning the next time I open it. And in case you mess up and save somewhere, you can always just delete the .blend file and download the template files again.

·FINAL STEP: PUTTING EVERYTHING BACK TOGETHER IN PHOTOSHOP: We’re almost done! Open Photoshop and drop in both your 2 new baked textures, “BASE TS2” and “ALPHA TS2”. Keep both layers on top of each other and aligned. For that you can enable the snapping in View > Snap to… > All. Rename these layers so the Alpha layer is “ALPHA” and the Base is “BASE”, and make sure ALPHA is on top.

Then run the “Final Baked” action and now for real, it’s finally over! You just fully baked and converted these new textures. Congratulations!

So, to summarize, here’s a small guide with all the steps of the workflow I developed. Once you get the hang of it, baking and converting one swatch of a texture just takes a couple minutes. It really is that easy!

One small note though, some of the baking blend files save the textures with a resolution of 2048x2048 pixels, as clearly stated at the end of their file name. That’s way too overkill, because TS2 only properly supports up to 1024x1024 for most of its textures and you should always resize your final product to that max resolution. I just made those 2048 versions because there might be some really tiny and slim details on some tattoos that may look a little too blurry when baked into a 1024 resolution, so for those cases use that if you want and then resize them in Photoshop. In the Resample mode of the Image Size menu, there are a few options to choose. For the fine details, I like the Nearest Neighbor (hard edges) option, which, even if it looks a bit pixelated, it still preserves most of the texture and quality.

For anything else, I would just directly bake them using the 1024 versions in Blender.

And for the folks who feel comfortable playing around in Blender, this is just the beginning! Texture baking opens a LOT of possibilities, so feel free to move stuff around and edit the models to your liking! If you notice the baked textures look warped or stretched somewhere, or don’t like where some textures are placed in the S2 body, poke around that area moving stuff and then give it another try. The main objective of the baking process is keeping both overlapping models as close in shape as possible. You may also edit and save new copies of the templates, or make new ones from scratch using mine as a reference (keep a close look on those Baking settings and values, I think they work pretty well) and share them if you want to. Go ham, do whatever you want with them! I have plans on making templates to convert body textures from Sims 3 to Sims 2, but for now it’s not on my priorities, so we’ll see when that happens.

Hi hey hello halloween was 2 days ago so here are my southpark halloween headcanons cuz im a spooky gremlin all year (Possible part 1 cuz i write alot and idk if tumblr has a word limit)👍

Cartman:

His costume is either really extra or really basic because he forgot until last minute.

Its usually inflateable like a dinosaur, pizza or...other things.

Usually the one to pick the route they go on when trick or treating so he can get the most candy, but it backfires because of all the walking.

The type of mf to eat his candy while hes out trick or treating (me too, i get it)

He steals the entire take 1 bowl you cant change my mind. Also the type to grab aggressive fistfuls when someone says to just take one or two pieces of candy

Thinks haybales and haunted houses are gay

Will throw fake decorations at you as a joke, but the realistic ones that make you yell (severed hands, bugs, etc)

His house isnt that decorated since i KNOW Liane is the cool mom who gives out full sized candy bars but its the inside that counts

Takes pumpkin carving VERY seriously. But doesnt do that much, or he tries and gives up.

A dumbass when it comes to candy trading. Always falls for the tricks Kyles got

Kyle:

I love kyle, but you know hes dressing up as the most basic things every year...hes TRYING THO HES TRYING

Takes Ike with the boys when hes old enough

Tries to match costumes with Stan but stan always forgets

The BEST at carving pumpkins. Gut feeling Kyle is an art kid.

The middle man in the group, he doesnt feel safe in the front or back

Carries Pepper spray with him when trick or treating, always very cautious to the point his friends grill him for it a little. Better safe than sorry

Clinging onto Craig half the night, the insomnias getting to him

Legally not aloud to carve pumpkins. He will accidentally knick his fingers

Loves halloween baking though, he does burn at least something and panics.

His guns are all custom made and he has this set of neon throwing knives, razor sharp and deadly.

His creepy little warehouse is a lot less creepy on the inside, posters of his favorite movies and bands litter the walls, sure their spattered with blood but I digress, the training dummies have spray painted smiley faces and when he gets bored he likes to see just how many knives can fit in one face.

He's the best at killing and it shows, has gotten paid to kill twice now and loved it.

And with both of those phat checks he was able to spend time doing his favorite thing, doting on you.

Once bought one of those really cool looking swords from this sketchy shop downtown and tried to decapitate a guy with it but when he brought the weapon down on the poor dudes neck it breaks like a Lego set and they just stand there in this painfully awkward silence.

He of course has to shoot him so no one ever hears of his embarrassment.

Has a few gnarly scars on his legs from his early skateboarding days, if Manny bet him he couldn't grind down their highschools 25ft stair railing he absolutely does it, even though he'd only just got the board that morning.

Now I've finally caught up on all the content from the Italian non-replica productions, and I have so many thoughts. Now let's play the very unfair but also kinda fun game of "reviewing a production solely based on photos"! I'll put it behind the cut to not kill your feed...

Is it really a non-replica production if the Eiffel Tower is not included in some way?

This set design is rather clever. Making the false boxes at the side a part of a rotating set, complete with a "frescoed" ceiling, makes it a lot easier to remove the auditorium look. And also a brilliant anchor for the chandelier instead of relying on the theatre's own ceiling. I guess the only issue is that the scenes where the boxes are partly turned (like the Mirror scene) seems somewhat cramped, but all in all: an original take on the "false boxes dilemma", and more spacious looking than the Restaged Tour's drum set. Other than that... a rather beige Hannibal?

The Elissa costumes... It's like the Estonian Elissa costume had a love child with the Sydney Harbour dance costumes...! But I don't say that in a negative way. I think the Italian Elissa costumes looks regal and rich and fun.

Is it really a non-replica production if Christine does not feature a red rose in some way? Also, an example of how the stage feels a bit cramped with the false boxes-set rotated. On the other hand, I guess this brings the audience closer to the action. I like what I see overall.

Not gonna lie, I thought this was from the Restaged Tour first time I saw the photo. Both look almost identical to the original staging and costumes, just mildly tweaked:

I have not seen any good photos of the set design of the Phantom's lair. But the glimpses I've seen gives me vibes of the Restaged Tour and the Polish production. Mostly because of the curved gondola and the candle-lit realistic organ:

The Restaged Tour vibes are STRONG here, with the cast singing the final part of Prima Donna in front of a Garnier-esque curtain. If Carlotta had worn her Il Muto costume it would be downright identical.

But hey! Bonus point for not including the Eiffel Tower in the Rooftop set. The set designer clearly knew what she was doing by including it in the Auction scene (set later) and not in the Rooftop scene. The Notre Dame, on the other hand, would "always" had been there. Bonus point for a hint of Garnier sculptures and roof structure.

...whatever can it mean that the Phantom swings across the stage in a red cape, Tarzan style?

Whaddayaknow, a foreshadoing for dead Buquet, swinging across the stage in the same manner just some seconds later. Frankly? This is one of the ideas I suspect maybe looked better on paper than in real life. Camp flies higher than the Phantom, at least...

Eeeer. Forget what I wrote. The Phantom flies higher than camp after all, riding that chandelier to the ground in an olympic level of explosions and flashing light. I want to dig it, but my brain refuses to.

Is it really a non-replica production if there aren't some sort of confetti? Nice turned perspective on the Garnier auditorium and chandelier. Very, very similar to the chandelier crash in Hungary. Looks pretty. Also liking Christine's quite serious bustle dress, even if it doesn't quite scream Masquerade. But I believe they all cloak up for the main scene?

The graveyard, complete with graves, a glum sky, a cloaked Christine carrying a red rose (what else?), and... the Phantom flying away on his black wings... This production is a lot, but boring isn't part of that...!

Don Juan AKA Mad Hatter. First time I saw part of Christine's costume I thought they had replicated the Marguerite dress from the Lon Chaney movie and it made me so happy. But then I saw the corset. Ah, no. Close, but no cigar. But I dig Amelia Milo's wig. It's hard to make out the colour, quite dark ash blonde or super light brown. It looks very good on her.

Beautiful set, though! The painted "fresco" ceiling above the chandelier is such a neat touch.

OK, Ramin... throat grabbing Christine was not OK in the Royal Albert Hall, and it's still not OK. No. Just no.

...and here you lost me completely... Is this The Phantom of the Opera or The Met: Notes on Camp? I can't tell.

But not to end this absolutely nonsense non-review on a negative note, I will comment on the main background set seen in the Phantom's lair and Don Juan. CLEVER. Because... At first glance it reminds of Maria Bjørnson's set design for Don Juan. She appears to have been inspired by the Italian artist Piranesi (1720-1778), and especially his fantasy architecture of nightmareish labyrinths. A series is called "Imaginary Prisons". It looks like the Italian production also picks up a clue or five from Piranesi. And frankly, "Imaginary Prisons"... the most fitting home for the Phantom, no?

DRIVERS:

1. Charles Leclerc

The world may be unraveled and built again and I will still choose this man as my top driver. While admittedly at first I was captivated by his looks, I soon started genuinely enjoying this sport. Doing so allowed me to look into his story and by God is it something straight out of a book. His mentality to learn and remember everyone he's lost and fight for them while selflessly sacrificing himself for their wishes is something I couldn't fathom in a lifetime. And yet he does fight for himself and he does it viciously. He is one of the best, one of the only who I think with a competitive car could give Max a fight and win, and I need to see him spread his full potential. I am convinced that if this man doesn't win a World Championship then F1 is unachievable and Ferrari will destroy their own legend. You cannot just find another Charles Leclerc.

Also his dichotomy is insane. He's so chaotic it makes him incredibly entertaining.

If Charles Leclerc has one fan, it's me.

If Charles Leclerc has no fans, I'm dead.

2. Lando Norris

Admittedly I completely overlooked this man for about 2 months. Absolutely no second glance he wasn't interesting enough for me.

I repent for my mistake as he's consumed my waking days and nights. An absolute talent that stemmed from hard work. His second part of the season was to die for, I believe he as well, is one of the people that could fight Max for a championship. So young as well, and even if he managed to get there slowly because of his father, he tried to make it as realistic as he could. Staying a year just getting coffee orders while he's shaking in his boots for every interviews. A genuine sweetheart that deserves every good thing. I hate how self-critical he seems to be . He needs that win, he CAN win. In 2024 maiden victory for Lando Norris come on.

3. Max Verstappen

Everything, and I mean everything that this man has achieved, is deserved. Every win, every record broken, every championship was his. Because he is a generational talent, he is someone worthy. His past absolutely destroys me, especially seeing that he is in contact with his father still, but I can understand the way he thinks. Still what he went through in childhood is no excuse for the success he has now. This man is the sweetest, kindest person I've seen. He's grown so much over the years from what I can tell and he treats everyone so equally. From past temporary teammates, to rivals. A genuine joy to be around I want to give him a hug every day and tell him that he is special. Red Bull's second golden boy but also mine.

4. Oscar Piastri

At first glance, according to people I know, I look like this man. The bangs don't help, neither does the fact that I act similarly. However I will never complain if it means I can work hard and earn the success he's had in his first year in F1. When I say wow for him, I mean it. Showstopping performance. This man will be a Champion one day he has to. Absolute down to earth guy as well but I love when I see his competitive spirit shove its head between the calm walls. It's always the quiet ones and I'd know as I am one.

5. Alexander Albon

For fifth place I could've chosen a lot of people as I genuinely really like the current grid (with a few exceptions). But Alex is amazing. Truly believe that if you put him in a competitive car he'd bring miracles. He's put that Williams in places it never dreamed of driving around. One of the most talented drivers on the grid and his personality is to die for. So so nice and lovely genuinely.

RACES:

1. Las Vegas

I hated Las Vegas. Honestly still kinda do in a lot of aspects. But the race was the best. Charles definitely deserved that win and Max's penalty was too little, but a race is a race, it doesn't matter how you win it as long as you do. Charles' driving however was absolutely phenomenal. That overtake on Checo was borderline the most exhilarating thing I could ever feel. I was so shocked when I saw it, it took me a good 5 min to collect myself.

2. Singapore

While Carlos may not be on my list, the win he had in Singapore was well-deserved and amazingly iconic. I don't think I'll ever get over my confusion of hearing this mf say it's on purpose corresponding to Lando's DRS. that's the sexiest thing this man has done. That Carlando podium added extra years to my life. Their hugs and the champagne were the sweetest things ever. And Lando's pics from the podium were very um.......👁️👁️

3. Mexico

Very simple. Lando P17 to P5. Phenomenal driving. After the Austin GP disqualification. Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton on the podium? Exactly what I wished for. Brought my boy back from the slump that's called the 2023 F1 season.

4. Qatar

Now to be clear, I hated Qatar. I will hate Qatar and I hate Qatar. It was absolutely inhumane and there should've been different precautions or the race time should've changed because I don't care that these drivers are trained, that was actual torture. So when I say Qatar as my 4th favorite, I mean the sprint race.

Oscar Piastri the man that you are and the man that you will be. Rookie season and won a Sprint race. I know you will be great and I cannot wait for your future.

I do dislike how they overshadowed his win with Max's championship. While I understand the celebration, he was going to celebrate at the end of the season as well. All in all, I'm happy for both of them.

5. Suzuka

My reasoning for this is even simpler. If you ever need to know my weak point, just look at the number of reoccurring driver things I have in my room. You will find an outstanding amount of Sebastian Vettels everywhere. On a shirt, in my phone, on my phone, on my wall and more to come. My reason for this is just his little bee project and how much I adored seeing him in his little corner waving his flags and the bee activity he did the day before. Everybody loves Sebastian Vettel. As they should.

RACES WATCHED: 12/22

Now I got into F1 during the summer break, which is the reason I wasn't able to see half of the races. However I am grateful purely because I don't think I could've experienced Charles Leclerc losing his grasp over the championship and Sebastian Vettel's retirement in 2022. That would've been my actual breaking point. And I saw a Max dominant season yes, however I saw half of it and most of the races were very entertaining still. I love Max too so.

TOP TEAM:

My genuine choices for this were McLaren, Red Bull and Williams.

I went for McLaren because of their amazing driver lineup, improvement over the second part of the season and really cool pit stops.

Red Bull however has been unbeatable and I will give them all the credit. The strategies, the pit stops, the wins, everything. Phenomenal

Williams grew on me quickly after Qatar. While the car may be frankly, shit, the team seems incredibly put together and I adore that they gave Logan a second chance. Also that they put the well being of their drivers first. James Vowles adopt me.

tldr: the stakes are too high now so it's easier to keep playing with the tension than resolving it.

Okay, so, I do joke they had a plan when they casted Ryan, but I actually do think they were just playing with the chemistry between Oliver and Ryan up until the moment they decided to retcon the well to make the will a thing. I do think both Ryan and Oliver like to play with their chemistry too, I don't act but I'm guessing it is fun to play with what you can do with another actor you have the type of chemistry they have, but when you look at season 2 and most of season 3 as a whole, ignoring a few moments we like to hang on to, they are two friends who really trust each other. Season 3 does up the stakes, but it was early enough they could swing it either way even more with the way they are not as close as they could be during most of season 4, a lot of things about the 2 of them are left implied, and it makes sense considering both of them had explicit love interests that season.

But the shooting and consequences are a real turning point for the way they are being portrayed, its less unintentional, less reliant on the chemistry between the two of them, it's more on purpose, the way the shooting scene was filmed and framed, the choice of words, the slow-mo of them standing there, the impression they give you that they have their eyes locked across the pavement, Buck saving Eddie alone, having Eddie ask Buck is he's hurt, Buck saying "I need you to hang on", the way Buck steps up with Chris without knowing about the will, the way we find out about the will, the choice to have that be something Eddie has been hiding for over a year, creates something on purpose with the two of them that actually allows them to play with putting buddie in season 2 and 3 in a different light, it implies a level of planning when you look at the whole show. Season 5 we have them talking more on screen, we have Eddie basically asking for permission to break up with Ana, the wording in that scene also feels really on purpose to make you look for hidden meanings if it ever came to it. And there are things like Mitchell clocking that hurting Eddie is more effective in controlling Buck that's also something you can come back to and repurpose later. There's the choice to have Buck being the person who actually gets through to Eddie with making him feel comfortable in his own life again, and having Buck being the person Eddie opens up about his trauma to begin with. And then we have literally everything about season 6. Season 6 actually allows me to change the perception of the whole show and write a 4k words rant about how Eddie has been in love with Buck since season 3, because they make a very conscious effort to paint Buck, Eddie, and Christopher as a family unity, the dinner on the premier, Buck baking cookies for Chris to take to school, the 3 of them hanging out on the loft while Chris does his homework. And everything about Buck's death and the episodes following, Eddie mirroring Buck during the shooting after the lightning, Eddie acting like a grieving partner, Chris being the person who makes Eddie go and see Buck, Buck knowing he can run to Eddie's when he's overwhelmed, whatever the fuck was mixed feelings.

But since now they can very easily add context to previous seasons to make them seem planned even if they weren't, there's a whole new level of expectations about them together. Because it makes it look like the people who have been shipping them since season 2 are right, so right now the showrunners have the chance to make what could objectively be one of the best slowburns in television history and add the fact that it's a queer relationship and they have the chance to do something that will make the show go down in romance history in a way. But realistically speaking, it's hard for them to make that relationship a reality. We have 7 main characters, we see 4 of them get together, so we are invested in them, we have Karen being introduced to us when Hen screws up, which makes us sympathize with Karen so we are invested in henren even if Karen mostly exists to be Hen's wife, and we have the other two being heavily shipped together since the beginning. But the thing with Bobby and Athena and Chim and Maddie is that they don't work together, so they don't have to acknowledge bathena and madney every episode, because if we are not seeing them together there's no real expectation for the episode to do something to remind us they are together. That won't work with buddie. Considering the way they are partnered in the field most of the time and they are on the same shift and how high the expectations around them are because of the way their friendship was constructed, they would have to find a way to make the relationship known every episode. And let's face it, most television shows really struggle with keeping slowburns together after the buildup, and the buildup with buddie is high, because they get used to working the tension and once the tension is resolved they drop the ball so we end up with unnecessary conflicts and breakups that make no sense just to add tension back in so the relationship will be interesting for them to write. And we joke that Eddie baby trapped Buck and that they act like an old married couple, but they literally already have a canon legal document tying them together, they very explicitly co-parent Chris, they are very clearly comfortable in each other's spaces, so that makes the usual tricks to keep slowburns interesting won't work, because honestly, I think that even a friends to married thing with them isn't that farfetched. Raise the tension enough in the lead-up to getting them together and they could have them flying to vegas to get married and most people just accepting it. But that's not good for their storytelling because 911 is not the buddie show and there is all this expectation that could end up with them deciding that writing them as an established couple is more complicated to deal with than just leaving them simmering forever.

Because the thing is, one good push and you get them together, they can trip them into a relationship at any time, really, just sit them down and let them talk about their feelings and accidentally confess to something, or turn up the flirty banter they have while they're alone and let them trip into each other, put any of them in danger and have the other snapping, like literally any of the hundred contexts we have of getting together fics about them would work at this point, but the issue is not getting them together is keeping them together in a satisfying way.

I’m usually a negative person when it comes to my expectation for the show tbh and the only thing i truly want is Bi Buck, I don’t care who with so your confidence that that’s really gonna happen kinda gives me hope. Hopefully we’ll see a hint of that in this next episode with Tommy.

I'm happy to say that you're in the right place, nonnie. I've gained a reputation for being "negative" and "a hater" (lol, middle school insults) because I no longer post about what I want to happen, just what I believe will based on whatever info we get through the media and production - and unfortunately for the hardcore Buddie shippers, my conclusions have painted Buck and Eddie as bros until further notice. As far as Buck and Tommy is concerned, *because* I go with my gut instead of along with what someone else is "predicting", I can honestly say that I would not keep the discussion going if I didn't believe it was a realistic outcome. If Tommy was just here for the cruise disaster or to stir some shit and leave without a backwards glance, we'd have evidence of that, but instead, everything is buddiebuddieBUDDIE with no mention of Tommy until last week when Oliver had to remind the fandom he's coming back. (The PR department would not be going so hard in one direction if they weren't trying to distract from the other, sorry. Buddie, just like Bi Buck, is meant to catch even the most optimistic people off guard, not be spoiled months in advance.) And the set stuff? The lack of Lou amongst the other members of the 118? Or even just Oliver? No need to stay away from the cameras if you know your appearance isn't going to cause any problems. 😉

Get the urge to make Vash Stampede's jacket as a serious actual jacket because I'm a slut for correctly used cosplay fabrics when I see it bUT also putting a whole lotta money into it for no reason + use is kinda stupid i guess

It has this really interesting color, red obviously but leaning on cerise? It'd be hard to find the perfect match. With a large hood that likely need some sort of stiffening to make sure you get that obvious collar even when open. I'm not entirely sure what fabric I would think it is but I'm leaning on softshell. The teal insides are ✨

Also, fabric patches, I would probably honestly go for leather anyway, would look fancier. That plate on the hood is interesting, it seems to be metal. The actual hardest part would be that zipper though, it's huge. You might have to create an ornamental one since it's not really realistic.

I'm an idiot so I would probably want that arm shield thing too. Maybe not the piece that stands up, looks like it might get uncomfortable, the other parts I wonder if you couldn't reimagine as maybe pleather/fabric pieces, that way it wouldn't be hindering function.... You could switch over the red fabric to a greyish teal halfways down the bicep and hide the seam with a pleather piece on top. The parts that light up probably have to be exchanged for paint though. Unless you make a hidden pocket/zipper under the pleather, putting a battery driven LED light there, but I don't think that would be comfy to walk around in for actual use. For cosplay it'd look cool though.

8. What do you like most about your own work? It's hard to say, because i criticize myself a lot or treat my art like idkkk things i have to do while i'm still alive?? like creating (anything) is literally the meaning of my life so my work to me it's kinda like a "vacuum the apartment" item in to-do list. you vacuum your apartment, delist it, and then forget about it forever but if to think a little deeper it's hmm i like the style in which i’m drawing rn, though i’m still not really happy with it. but this whole styling thing is super hard to me after years of academic art 💀 if im super tired my hands automatically draw something realistic and this really upsets me bc i don't want to draw realistic things :( i don't post many original art here, but i love the sense of freedom it have, that i’ve worked very hard for and still working on it! like replacing "how to do it acceptably?" with "how i want it, how i feel it and how to do it honest" in my mind. honesty and sincerity are the most important things in my life, work, people etc. there are many problems with this now because of the russian laws and autocracy, which has long been more like totalitarianism. i have a hard time saying and doing what i think, constantly having to go around/come up with metaphors/not putting something out there at all, even changing ideas and plots. it disgusts me, i hope i can emigrate in the next two years or so, freedom is a key value for me and ok if to be more abstract, i like the fact that I draw/etc for myself, i.e i create something that i lack in this world. every time it gives me a feeling of satisfaction (though it doesn't last long) that "there! at last I see what i wanted, what i craved to see". i.e actually i work from "i don't like what there's rn, i want to see it differently, I want to do it other way". as if the store didn't have clothes in your size and and you'd have to sew your own

i realize that this question implies one drawing, but idc and will show several instead of just one :^) the first drawing that comes to mind is this! well it's not exactly a drawing ofc but still. it's one of 54 illustrations for the play "the shadow". i love this work very much (text here says "your country is like every country in the world" in different languages, and on the color block the phrase is "it's all so mixed up", it's quotes from the play)

and three more illustrations for the same play! best part of this year in terms of art is probably that i finally got into lettering. although it's not lettering in the classic sense here, like these lettering aren't meant to be readable, i just think the letters are very pretty:^)

and the last one. this fanart turned out to be very important for me! i drew it some time after my diploma and finally for the first time in a long time allowed myself to loosen up and not think about what others will think. thanks to this art i realized in which style i wanna work:^)

17. What inspires you?

almost anything tbh. movies, books, theater, songs, science, news, colors, clothes, people, whatever in personal projects, it's usually a reflection on current events/experiences talking to people and their stories inspire me a lot on a more simple level: music/songs. i believe that any visual composition is music (even Kandinsky wrote about it and he himself considered his abstract works as painted music). So rhythm, intonation in songs and other things inspire me af. i always make playlists for every big project im working. it's not even about the lyrics of the songs, it's about the vibe/mood they give. (i had an exhibition this summer with illustrations for "the shadow" and like i put a disco projector there and made a 6 hours playlist 😭 bc all the illustration were based on music (and i hate exhibition snobbery, pseudo-intellectualism, and in general when people consider themselves superior to others. i also think that looking at pictures without music is boring) aaaaand i'm also inspired by the words themselves? (you can notice in the pictures above, haha). sometimes by the meaning they carry, sometimes just by the way they look. and the letters inspire me bc that, again, is music to me. the rhythm, the plasticity, the contrast. i just love letters ahahh

i’m appalled with all the hate that mike gets. i had no idea so many ppl hated him. not sure why tho … from what i’ve seen, ppl started to hate him starting s3 which is quite weird? i mean .. he did spend a lot of time with el .. and kinda spent less time with his friends … but like .. he was growing up? he was starting to find least interest in the things that he used to do as a kid. not even just him but lucas as well but i don’t see anyone talking about how lucas started to change either. i felt like majority in the group was doing their own thing … maybe not will. which i could see why will just wanted to go back to doing the things that they used to do being that he missed out on a chunk of that when he was in the upside down/taking over by the mindflayer but like everyone else was growing up and finding interest in other things. i feel like all boys at some point in their pre-teen ages have just wanted to talk about girls and/or be around them and/or their gfs. so it’s kinda weird to me that mike starting getting hate during this season? it was realistic… growing up and drifting apart from your childhood friends a bit.

also quite weird how everything is on mike to keep in touch with will. i mean .. friendships work both ways. if will wanted to talk with mike, he could’ve initiated first. why does mike have to initiate it first? also why isn’t anyone calling out dustin or lucas for not talking to will? i haven’t seen them have a convo with will in a minute … i’m just confused why it’s always on mike? mike isn’t will’s caretaker. will isn’t his responsibility. he has his own life. this isn’t to be mean or anything, it’s the truth. it just feels like everyone excepts mike to take care of will all the time just because they are best friends. that’s not how a friendship works …

don’t even get me started on the hate on mike’s love confession to el …. i don’t understand why will keeps getting inserted? it wasn’t about will. it was about mike’s feelings for el. what he has been trying to say for a while but couldn’t get it out. did y’all forget he basically said he loves her in s3? did y’all forget when he was trying to say i love you to el in the store? did y’all forget when he was trying to say i love you again to el in the pizza place? he has been trying to get it out for a long time but couldn’t. he has always shown that he loved her by his actions. this isn’t new. we already know how hard it is for mike to express his feelings. i mean .. look at when he was trying to explain to el that you go to a dance with someone you like. come on. him not showing much “emotions” in s4 ( at least v1 ) is because he doesn’t really know how to express his feelings. in v2, you see him show so much emotions/feelings for el. i know that has to do with what will told him ( which wasn’t right on the writers part to use a painting that obviously was smth that will made to express and explain how he felt … to push for mileven to resolve their conflict ) but whether will gave him the speech or not, mike would’ve said it regardless because that’s how he feels. and he didn’t want to lose her.

in conclusion, i’m just a little confused on why mike receives so much hate? everything he does is deemed wrong … and for what? because he’s growing up? because he doesn’t want to lose someone he loves again? because he doesn’t frequently check up on everyone in the group? because he doesn’t initiate convos with will? because he doesn’t have the same interest in things that he used to have? like what is it?

Alright I got kinda a bananas questions for you, but how much time do you think should be divided up between work, hobbies and people. Actually wait more specifically what do you think is a good goal to just sit down and do work, but like actually doing work. Like sitting down for 90 minutes and finishing something not working on said thing for 5 hours then finish it. Over the past couple years I kinda erm, just sorta stopped? My mental health has steadily going to shit and covid fucked that all to hell and I was spending so much time in what was essentially a state of panic(didn’t realize it at the time, but that’s essentially what was happening) that I was too exhausted to do anything and just kind of stopped. I didn’t realize it the time but now that I’m finally getting better Ive noticed how little I was doing and how doing little really negatively effects me. Its become a good marker for me to check that I’ve been actually painting, seeing friends, going for a swim but sometimes it still all goes belly up and I’m trying to figure out what is a good goal.(and whats a good marker for when fucking up) Like a realistic long term goal I can strive for and keep track of. I could real easily just say “go for a swim everyday” but that feels unrealistic. In fact I put exercise in same spot as painting so it would be more like “do hobby for an hour a day” but even that feels like a lot. The thought of that feels exhausting so at least for me it should probs be do hobby thing at least 5 times week. Big goal is to swim 3 times and paint twice or vice a versa. its just hard to do that and then I’ll feel like crap and then notice that I haven’t exercised at all for 8 days and I just don’t move around enough to do that. I’m like a dog or walking house plant that needs to go outside and move around for sunshine and blood flow otherwise I start to physically and mentally feel awful. Its just hard to notice you know? Ugh its annoying because there’s so much shit. Its not just that I need some kinda exercise I also need to do some kinda hobby thing for me and other shit that I like to do. And that isn’t even including the work I need to do. I wasn’t even working before I cannot express enough how much of “doing nothing” I was doing. I’m doing better know with meds and therapy and what not and it is helping but I’ll still get home at 7 and just look at my phone and do some combo of read fanfictin/ play sudoko till I get tired and fall asleep. Then I wake up and shocking, I’m still on bullshit. Sometimes its feels to much to shower (at least with that one I know that I can get away with one at most 2 days with out shower so if I didn’t shower the day before I can mostly just force myself into the shower) that’s what I’m trying to figure out for everything else so I can look at my self force my self to stop looking at phone and paint a shitty flower or something. I was doing pretty good but The other week I house sitter for a friend and was immediately back on bullshit. I barely left her apartment the entire time I was there I’m sure that if I actually went to class, got exercise, painted (I brought all my paints then did fuck all) I would have been able to get more work done. I think Im only actually productive when I’m actually getting up and doing crap. I’m in a contact state of “working” and doing nothing but time is moving forward. I have no idea what this anon is. Ugh whatever I’ll submit it anyway

Social time is going to be extremely variable. I'm an extrovert and thus lots of social time is no problem. I also do okay not seeing people though as long as I'm busy.

Exercise should be prioritized above most other things, much as I hate this. You should be doing something basically every day. I agree that swimming is likely not realistic on that schedule, but maybe a walk around the block? It sucks, but forcing yourself to get off your ass every day will help with the rest of it. Also, exercise that takes you out of the house, even if only briefly, requires that you put on clothes, which is also helpful.

Get off of social media. If you're having trouble managing things, now is the time to take a break from anything that involves doom scrolling and time just disappearing.

(I say from my bed where I'm wearing the dirty sweatshirt I slept in and no pants while answering asks instead of working on my next novel. Hmm...)

It's obviously important to you to prioritize painting, but I see the difficulty there: you have to get set up and clean up afterwards, and you can't leave paints sitting around or they dry out. I'd try to schedule one longer session per week for now. If you have something else like sketching, you can schedule more frequent shorter sessions because that's easier to pick up and put down without a lot of prep/cleanup.

I do find little morning rituals like making tea helpful. They pry me out of bed and add some structure to my day.

(It's what it sounds like, couples paint each other and film it to show their reactions) (unfortunately I've seen a lot of sad cishet ones where the guy paints his gf or wife really badly, like intentionally, where the gf/wife looks like a monster so I need some actual nice ones to feel better and thought I'd ask about your ocs)

Awww that sounds so cute! (though it really sucks about the sad cishet ones, I don't know why you'd want to paint your partner badly on purpose, that's just mean and awful :( )

I'm just gonna answer this for the couples you know I think, just for simplicity's sake

Rae: Isn't that much of an artist, but she'd do her best. It's not fantastic quality but it's really clear that she tried to get all the details (especially in his eyes because she loves his eyes). I think she'd either just stick to drawing a bust of him just to make sure it's manageable, or would try something ambitious like him with his wings wrapped around her. Warren: Refined upbringing... I'm sure he's taken some art classes, not to mention his mom liked to paint, so he knows how to paint. He hasn't done it in years so it's a bit of a slow start, but once he finds his rhythm he actually makes something really beautiful. It has Rae crying a little when he shows it to her (but happy tears of course)

Robin: She's more of a music person than a 2D art person, so her solution is to paint a bunch of wiggly stripes in shades of blue and silver and say "it's you at superspeed" - kinda cheating, but it makes Peter laugh. Peter: Tries his best... that's about all he can say. He tried to paint her singing onstage for Carmen since that's how they met, but it's a little lopsided and goofy since he's not the best painter. It's not intentionally bad, he's just not an art guy, so he and Robin just laugh together when he shows her.

Madison: Would probably opt to sketch him rather than painting him (she's better at sketching, it was one of her hobbies to pass the time out in the woods), and would actually draw a really accurate sketch of Alex. He's very impressed (and it makes him a little embarrassed about his own drawing, honestly) Alex: Isn't a great artist, so he kinda just stuck to the key details - plus, as we both know, she's kinda hard to draw. Madison thinks it's sweet no matter how it turns out though, he could have drawn a stick figure and she'd still think it was sweet that he tried.

Jasper: Tries to draw the time the two of them kissed across the railing at Jasper's derby bout... Kyle: Ends up, by total coincidence, drawing the same exact moment, since it's also his favorite kiss that they've had. Jasper's is more cartoony and Kyle's is stuck in that vague zone of "past the anime character stage but not quite the right proportions yet" but they were both so surprised to flip it and reveal the exact same moment that neither of them are really paying attention to the quality of the paintings.

Prometheus and Corinthian: I feel like as dreams they'd probably have some kind of like... photographic art thing? I mean, they are themselves artistic creations, in a way, and they're not exactly human.... I guess what I'm saying is they'd both make realistic paintings of the other, and though they'd both find it sweet they also wouldn't quite understand the point of it... it's more of a human trend, I think.

Indie: Also opts to draw him rather than paint him (maybe with pastels or colored pencils, and she'd play with a fun color scheme), since she already enjoys drawing. It comes out really clean and accurate, and Hux is both impressed and maybe a little overwhelmed because I can't imagine anyone's paid enough attention to draw him before he met Indie. Hux: I also feel like he knows how to sketch a bit (admittedly this is a headcanon I latched onto from a fic I read, but still), though he's probably rusty since he hasn't drawn since he was a teenager. Indie kinda tries to brush it aside when he shows her, saying he's biased and she definitely doesn't look as nice as what he drew, but he insists that it's how he sees her. I mean, we already knew he's completely smitten for her.

If the first episode showed us how wounded and screwed up Qi Luo is, this ep shows us that Ling is every bit as much a mess. It's such a nice twist that the confident popular "bad boy" is really really fucked up. Not only is he a former resident of a mental institution but he is not altogether all there even now. When his bike is getting fixed and the mechanic asks him why doesn't he (Ling) go back home to stay with his father, Ling says that he's go insane if he moved back in. But it's not all a snarky remark. There is a grain of truth there. And when the mechanic snarks back that he already is crazy anyway, you can see that for Ling, that unintentionally hits home. He is a total seething mess under his cool mask.

I mean, the scene that opens ep 2 is his seeing his image in a convenience store mirror and losing it so so so badly.

I am not a doctor but this sounds sus. This said, it's manga medicine so whatever.

I'd say the fact that in his mostly unconscious state, he grabs on to her sketch of a mother and child, is kinda a foreshadowing of a lot in their relationship: her bringing him peace and stability. But of course, he helps her quite a lot as well. Not only does he drag her out of her shell (after all she is comfortable enough with him to ask him to be a model for her), and offers to protect her (I love how pleased he is when she offers him the painting and then offers to pay by protecting her. He really has a protective streak. Of course then he has to make the crack about lending her his body heh), but more importantly, he helps her grow a spine (I love the scene where he's exposed the molesting teacher and he walks by her and tells her to give him five and asks her 'isn't it fun to strike back?' and she smiles). I just love that they are two people neither of whom is great dating material (I'd stay far away from either) but who really work for each other.

This is sort of a tangent but I love that while their problems get better with each other, they never truly go away. Neither of them will ever be "normal." It's an oddly realistic take on trauma wrapped in a manga wrapper. It's the same with the narrative about their parents - both of them have been horrifically abused by their parents/parental figures (except for their fathers who just died) and I love that none of these parents magically transform. Ling's mother tried to murder him (and even if it was a product of mental illness, that is still not good in the least) but what really is interesting to me is the unflinching way the drama handles the surviving parents. Qi Luo's stepfather was a rapist, a child rapist. When we meet him again, he did not in the least repent, nor did he suffer much. Nor does karma get him. He ends the story still employed, still free, still with Qi Luo's mother - because yes, Qi Luo's mother takes her and runs when she finds out back way when but it's no redeeming narrative; when the man comes back into their life, Qi Luo's mother all too quickly jumps on the "he's sorry" bandwagon (wtf!!! is that enough?) and takes him back because it's hard as a woman alone (!!!!) And Ling's adoptive father does not get better either - he wants Ling in a certain mold or not at all. He is willing to hold his life hostage (and I do mean, a jail term etc) to get what he wants; it is the same man who had Ling stuffed in a series of far away schools and then eventually a psych ward. But then, the drama seems to say, how realistic would it be that monsters get punished or fail adults get better? I always found it so fitting that at the end, both Ling and Qi Luo are irrevocably estranged from their families - but they have each other and they have their friends and it's gonna be enough.

Leon Belmont’s Painting

Looking back on how Leon’s portrait was shown on the Castlevania Netflix series, I’ve noticed that the painting looks a little too modern for the time the oldest Belmont was alive. Considering that he lived in the late 11th century, his painting would’ve had this kind of artstyle:

((Note: It’s a little hard to find art specifically from the 1090’s. Some of these are at the beginning of the early 11th century or 12th century. But my point still stands as they might be similar anyway.))

Most of the paintings I took are Byzantine, because Wallachia (or I guess, Hungary) at the time was geographically close to the Byzantine empire during Leon’s time, so I’d imagine their art is similar. From the Wikipedia page, it is said that these pieces are supposedly more to symbolism and abstract than realism. 

Now obviously it’s fictional and it doesn’t need to be historically accurate, but it would be interesting to see Leon in this kind of art style (though I fear it would be made fun of for making Leon look ridiculous). 

From simple observation, 15th century art is more realistic than 11th century art, and there's more variety than just Christianity.

Leon’s portrait (and by extension the Tepes’ family portrait) somewhat looks like the Romanticism art movement in the 1800s which are far ahead of their time. Leon's portrait in particular is inspired by the Portrait of Louis XIV, so it's also close to the Rococo movement as well (though you can say its a fine mix between the two). But I’m no expert in art history so I may be wrong.

Again, this is not really a flaw on its own, I just think that it would’ve been nice to see some characters drawn according to common artstyle in their respective centuries.

I recommend you to do your own research about it, as it is kinda surface level and it may not be the best in terms of accuracy. If I’m wrong, please be nice when correcting me about it :,)
