Does anyone else just...not trust the penguins?

Idk what it is, I just feel like there's something else going on here. That first altercation in the initial trailer was too easy, too streamlined. First of all, why did a presumably weaker kingdom have a power star? How did Bowser find it? There's something strange about the King's interaction with Bowser in particular. His people were equipped with SNOWBALLS against a literal DRAGON, and yet he showed no fear. When that battalion showed up, he had to know that there was no chance. Yet, he smirked in the face of the Koopa King himself. The one who instilled fear in leaders commandeering greater kingdoms than his, and this penguin was far too confident for this to be it. Even in the scene in Bowser's dungeon, he seemed remarkably calm.

Maybe I'm being paranoid, but I don't think he was kidding when he said that this was "Just a taste" of their fury. I could be wrong, but that's my take on it. I haven't heard anyone talk about the penguins, and I think it was meant to be that way. Maybe they were shown in the first trailer so we'd write them off, think of them as just a world building opportunity on Nintendo's part. I just think there's more to them, that's all. Feel free to share your thoughts!
