a king/button quail for marchirp day 1! this is a promptlist by @elliottnotyet . i will be doing these at a leisurely pace as long as i enjoy them since they're much more demanding than the Fungyn designs. its a comfy zone though, im looking forward to sharpening my rendering and training myself to draw again lol
a button quail was at the request of my partner @beefies , as quail are the first livestock we want to get in the future :) they are sweet little creatures!
Patch used to have two king quail; Charles and Louie, that pulled his wagon as he pilfered his way west towards the coast.
In the story Gone By Morning, he loses Charles and the wagon to bandits and now uses Louie as his quailsteed. Louie's pretty big, the equivalent I riding a draft horse. But he's a big softy <3
kickstarter pins are now live up on the shop! thank you everyone that helped this giant first campaign of our's become a reality, we had so much fun & we definitely want to do more! :-)
as always, all profits go towards funding our 501(c)3 cat rescue, based here in san antonio, tx!
He's still a wip, but here's my Rito oc, the Robin's Hood- Cielo! (ironically, he is a king's quail, not a robin. i added the floppy quail feather there for interest, even tho button quails don't have those)
Cielo plunders the homes of the rich under the cover of night, selling his stolen wares as a traveling merchant by day. If he can't be the next Rito Champion...he can at least fill that void with sparkly things.
~On an island that I own, tanned and rested and alone! Surrounded by enormous piles of money~ his voice claim is Eugene from Tangled lololol
“Queen Alicent, beloved of the smallfolk,” yeah the king’s landing populace is gonna have a fucking field day with mythologizing alicent standing up to a whole entire dragon for her son, from here to kingdom come
the king quail, also known as the buttonquail, is an asian quail species commonly kept in aviculture. in captivity, they are often a part of mixed aviaries, as they are happy to stay solely on the ground floor and clean up dropped food. they feed on seeds, insects, and fruits. they are primarily found in blue and brown colorations in the wild, but have many developed color mutations in captivity. they are highly social birds that are happiest when living in groups.
And Moses said, This shall be, when the LORD shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the LORD heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against him: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against the LORD.
