shamelessly knee-deep in your fantasy / to stay up late collecting battle scars / it's hard on the body, hard on the heart / and I can't fight the rage, the pleasure and the pain / you feel the need to please in every way / it’s a game and it's an art / that’s hard on the body, hard on the heart

Hello Inspiration for Lady Bertram from Mansfield Park:
Much as Wollstonecraft disliked Caroline’s use of rouge and her affected ‘infantine lisp’, she was especially distressed to see her lavishing affection upon her six lapdogs while apparently neglecting her children’s moral and emotional welfare. Lisping and lapdogs would feature in Wollstonecraft’s disapproving anecdotes about an unnamed lady of her personal acquaintance in Chapter 11 of A vindication of the rights of woman. Source
(Mary worked for Lady (Caroline) Kingsborough as a governess)
To the education of her daughters Lady Bertram paid not the smallest attention. She had not time for such cares. She was a woman who spent her days in sitting, nicely dressed, on a sofa, doing some long piece of needlework, of little use and no beauty, thinking more of her pug than her children, but very indulgent to the latter when it did not put herself to inconvenience, guided in everything important by Sir Thomas, and in smaller concerns by her sister. Had she possessed greater leisure for the service of her girls, she would probably have supposed it unnecessary, for they were under the care of a governess, with proper masters, and could want nothing more.
Mansfield Park, Ch 2

Many of those murdered by Hamas had their cell phones taken. Hamas videoed the murdered victims with their own phones, and uploaded the videos and images to the victims’ social media pages, for their families and friends to see.
I could go on, and I could share unwatchable videos and photos here, but I will not.
Instead, I will share the vapid message you shared after all of this with our campus community — many of whom have relatives in Israel– about these horrors.
You wrote: “we must only [sic] not continue to pray for peace, but  each of us must act for peace and understanding in ways that will continue to bridge that which threatens to divide us.”
When Jews were the victims of such unimaginable atrocities, that was your message?
I ask that decent people reading this email compare these hollow words to the lengthy other meaningful statements you have previously issued in brutal attacks against other groups.
People can draw their own conclusions.
We can also compare your words with what other presidents at CUNY have said about the recent monstrosities:
Brooklyn College President Michelle Anderson stated, “we condemn the violent attack by Hamas on Israel and its diverse peoples.” Hunter President Ann Kirschner stated “we condemn the violent attack by Hamas terrorists on Israel.” BMCC President Anthony Munroe emphatically expressed, “the heinous attack by Hamas on Israel and its people is as horrific as it is heartbreaking.”
There is also some deeply hurtful history here. Some people will be shocked to learn that in May 2021, a Kingsborough student beat an Orthodox Jew with a baseball bat, blocks from our campus. Leaving no doubt about his motivations, the student yelled, “Kill All the Jews! Free Palestine!” while beating his victim.
He was charged with a hate crime. Soon after the attack, Brooklyn College issued a strong statement condemning it.
But President Schrader, you said absolutely nothing about the gruesome attack. For me, an openly observant Jew, that really hurt. One of our own students was responsible for something so horrific against an underrepresented group that has been victimized by all too much horror and violence, and you refused to speak.

Two Jewish professors under investigation for “race and gender discrimination” have not been given copies of an official complaint against them because the college claims that they doxxed private information, according to emails obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.
Professors Jeffrey Lax and Michael Goldstein have been sounding the alarm about antisemitism at Kingsborough Community College (KCC), which is part of the City University of New York (CUNY) system, for the last several years, most recently by voicing concern when the school appointed anti-Zionist CUNY official Lili Shi to hire an antisemitism diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) officer, according to the Washington Free Beacon. Lax and Goldstein told the DCNF that they were offhandedly informed by the college that they were under investigation for “bullying” and exploiting her “vulnerability as an immigrant,” but have never been given a copy of the charges against them because the college claims they doxxed Shi’s address.
David Holley, a partner at the global advisory firm Stoneturn and KCC’s investigator into Shi’s complaint, refused to give Lax or Goldstein a copy of the complaint, accusing them of doxxing Shi’s address in an article by the Free Beacon and would only say that Shi had experienced “targeted cyber bullying,” “a case of race and gender discrimination” and that they had exploited her “vulnerability as an immigrant.”

Hey, everyone! It’s Juno with a very, very important question. Everybody sit down.
As 101.7 OUROBOROS is on hiatus before season 3, I’m taking this opportunity to work on a couple other side projects I have. I love them both dearly, but I’m wondering which of them you would be most interested in hearing as a full-fledged show. So, tell me- which of these two shows would you be more likely to listen to?
After being in an accident at the age of 13, a man wakes up from a 7-year coma to find some very important things have changed. For one, his friend involved in the accident with him is now a ghost who only he can talk with. Oh, yeah- and the world is ending. A virus which grants people inhuman strength and the irresistible urge to steal everything you can get your hands on has spread like wildfire across the globe. (Apocalyptic mystery thriller)
A detective and her sidekick live in the town of Kingsborough, New Maryland (don’t ask what happened to the old one), where crime seems to lurk around every corner. When the pair is put on the trail of an elusive ring of art thieves, the leader of the group sends out his best hitwoman to eliminate the detective- but how’s she supposed to do that when her target is the most beautiful woman she’s ever met? She can only “fail” so many times before it starts to get suspicious. (Comedy drama)

Lax and Goldstein told the Free Beacon that Shi should not be overseeing the search, whose hire will handle complaints of anti-Semitism, given her opposition to Zionists and the Jewish state.
Shi signed a statement following Hamas's May 2021 attacks on Israel urging CUNY to adopt demands made by the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement. While she is the only pro-BDS member of the search committee, none of the members is Jewish, the Jewish News Syndicate reported.
Lax said CUNY's decision to pursue Shi's investigation was "blatantly retaliatory." Goldstein called it "black-letter retaliation."
A Kingsborough Community College spokeswoman told the Free Beacon the college has "zero tolerance for discrimination of any kind, and allegations of this kind are taken very seriously," but would not comment on the investigation. Shi did not respond to a request for comment.
Lax resigned from his position on CUNY's Personnel and Budget Committee when he filed his August complaint. He also resigned from his teachers' union in 2021 after it passed a resolution condemning the state of Israel.
Another complaint from 2018, Goldstein said, was handled by a university official who "didn't even know what the word anti-Semitism meant."
Lax told Newsmax on Monday the investigation initiated by Shi will conclude the day before the spring semester, which raises questions about his future at CUNY.
"Are they trying to terminate me? I don't know," Lax said. "Does it worry me? Yes."
