'Kintsukuroi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer mixed with gold or silver. The idea is that breakage and repair are part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise.

Kintsukuroi/Kintsugi- because broken things ARE stronger and more beautiful
Sending love to everyone, may the right person see the places you rebuilt yourself as the golden successes that they are 🖤

A couple of weeks ago, after 3 hours of minute work with my fingers stuck with glue, I've managed to put together again a china knickknack of my late mother, and so it struck me: may I ask for a prompt something on the lines of "loving things to the point of repair", please? I know you can do justice to these soft feelz

Kintsukuroi, the technique of repairing the damage of any object with gold lacquer, always seemed like a beautiful concept that I wanted to experiment with Ayaka despite everything that has happened, she is still a beautiful character for me.

one tidbit i’d like to add about the series finale is there is a technique in japanese pottery (kintsugi, “golden joinery” or kintsukuroi, “golden repair”) where broken pieces are repaired with laquer that is dusted or mixed with gold, the idea being that the imperfections becomes what makes it beautiful and are an important part of the history that should not be ignored or hidden
anyway nate repairing the BELIEVE sign with golden glitter glue was very sweet
