Au idea: What if kipos friends asher dahlia and troy get seperated from the burrow on way to second location. Dahlia endos up with timbercats, asher the newton wolves and troy ends up in Ratland.

I love that idea because I really liked their time with the timber cats so it'd be cool to explore that more through the other packs!

I’ve watched “Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts” episode 4. We see some more Kipo with her father and now we know who taught her guitar. We also find out that she’s only twelve! I thought she was a teen, and at that point, I’m afraid to ask how old is Wolf. Well, Kipo, her friends and the timbercats chase the monster mute and they have to go through the Cactus Town, inhabited by metal snakes (like in metal music), who Kipo tried to negotiate with, but was forced to run and was separated with the cats and argued with Wolf, that she should have talked to them longer and it would have worked out. She got another chance to communicate with the snakes – they organize an epic session and so, Snakes agree to help them, take them out of the town and not eat the timbercats. Then they all move to come jungle and find a mega-monkey there and they all (Kipo and friends, cats and snakes) fight it, then Kipo plays the guitar for it and the monkey starts listening, and it turns out it understands what she says, the monkey indicates that Kipo’s people are okay and they got away, but then the monkey appears to be mind-controlled and runs away. Wolf says that there are rumours that Scarlemagne can mind-control. There was also an amazing dialogue between the snakes when after their session Kipo says that she’s going to talk to the huge mute: 

– I think that our new guitar player is a bit insane… 

– The best of them usually are.

Scarlemange

Heralding from the post-apocalyptic realm of the Age of Wonderbeasts, Hugo Oak was a mutated mandrill possessing pheromone-based mind-control powers. With his abilities and enhanced intellect, sat at the very top of Las Vistas's food chain ruling the land with an iron fist.  

Hugo was originally a normal primate that was mutated and raised by Lio and Song. The cruel treatment he endured under the human scientists who commissioned his mutation, and the eventual perceived desertion of his adoptive family, left Hugo with a lasting grudge against the human race. Upon acclimating to the surface world and weaponizing his coercive pheromones, he rechristened himself 'Scarlemagne' and crusaded to reunite the surface under his banner.

A despotic ruler who championed his fellow primates through intimidation and mind-control, Scarlemange was feared across the surface for the reach and scope of his power. He sought to build a golden city from which he could rule over his fellow mutes, and very nearly succeeded before Kipo and her allies were able to depose him at his own coronation, costing him his captive army in the process. Shortly afterwards, Scarlemagne was captured and imprisoned by the Timbercats.

After his reformation he joined Kipo in the fight against Emilia. In the final battle, he sacrificed himself to save his adoptive sister, Kipo.

Actor Dan Stevens provided the voice for the villain, first appearing in the sixth episode of Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, airing on January 14th, 2020.

HERE IS A LIST OF THE 30 MAIN KIPO AUs I WANT BUT WILL NEVER HAVE BECAUSE THE FANFIC COMMUNITY IS TINY IN ORDER OF SPOILERINESS (FEWEST SPOILERS FIRST OBVIOUSLY)

1. An AU where Kipo doesn't end up on the surface in the first episode, and has to go through the events with the mega monkey still looking for her

2. An AU in which all of Kipo's people are actually dead, and she's the only survivor. Depression for everyone!!

3. An AU where Margot never betrayed Wolf, and the two have a very close and codependent relationship. Bonus points if Wolf gets kidnapped by Scarlemagne

4. An AU where Wolf's wolf parents never actually betrayed her and raised her alongside the other children. Wolf girl wolf.

5. AU where the protagonists end up separated after Ratland, with Kipo and Benson trying their best to escape Scarlemagne's place without Scarlemagne realizing they're there while Wolf, Mandu, and Dave try to save them

6. AU like #1, except Lio fucking dies and Kipo's body now assumes it is in danger a lot more. So now she's dealing with the mega monkey and turning into the mega jaguar

7. Kipo gets along a little too well with the timbercats, and they kind of adopt her. Parental Yumyan and Molly. They're not surprised to find out she's part cat and teach her how to properly kitty

8. In which Lio turns out to be the mega monkey, somehow.

9. In which Kipo was raised on the surface, and is kind of known as the local feral half cat creature. Naturally, Scarlemagne kidnaps her for weapon usage and oops. Guess he has to teach the feral out of her

10. In which Jamack joins the protagonists (if you didn't think my man would be here you're wrong)

11. Let Kipo get upset about the whole mega jaguar thing PLEASE

12. Song and Lio raise Kipo, while Song is suppressing the mutagen and struggling more and more as she gets older.

13. Song turns out to fill Dr. Emilia's role, and is actually trying to end mutekind.

14. Emilia gets her hands on Kipo, but mistakes her for a normal human (somehow) so Kipo grows up in the science burrow believing mutes killed her parents and that what Emilia is doing is justified. Bonus points if she's Emilia's protege/assistant/intern

15. Emilia gets her hands on Kipo, knowing that she's Song and Lio's daughter, and decides she can use Kipo as a weapon. This would involve a lot of dehumanization and likely good brother Scarlemagne/Hugo. Also Lio? Totally dead

16. AU where Lio manages to yoink Hugo. That's the AU. Hugo and Lio and Kipo as family.

17. AU #16 with angst: Lio gets captured, so it's just Hugo and Kipo. Bonus points if Kipo grows up in Ratland

18. For even more angst, Scarlemagne kidnaps Kipo, raising her in his blooming empire. Except Scarlemagne has no idea how to raise a child, especially not one who's half mega jaguar.

19. Where Mulholland doesn't help Kipo, and Scarlemagne's coronation goes as planned.

20. Where Emilia kidnapping the mutes was a trap, and it works as planned. Kipo is in for such a bad time.

21. Where what Emilia did to the mutes she kidnapped mutes is a lot more horrific than in cannon.

22. WOLF BOTHERS TO REPLACE STALKY

23. Margot changes her mind about betraying Wolf sooner, and Emilia never captures any of the protagonists. Consequently, Emilia sneaks into timbercat village to conduct her evil plans.

24. Instead of Yumyan, Kipo gets hit by the cure. Consequently, the decision is made to have the mega jaguar deal with all subsequent human incidents. This prevents It's a Trap from happening.

25. Kipo gets hit by the cure, except it works. No more mega jaguar, but she gets back to timbercat village.

26. Kipo goes through with sinking the cruise ship. Insert huge crisis (and maybe Song, Lio, or both of them rejecting Kipo/treating her like a monster. Please. I live for angst)

27. AU where Dave kills child Benson, and is a reoccurring side character who's literally just a bastard

28. Fun Gus Monster Emilia. Like just IMAGINE if she took Gus' DNA instead of the mega walrus. Sludge monsters are underrated imo, and she could do so much fucking damage.

29. Emilia gets stuck as a half mute, and gets shoved in prison. Maybe with Hoag.

Y'know how in the show there's that one hole city trying to develop a mute cure? Well that's what this version of CFL is gonna be.

Uzi and Doll are both half mutes, with Uzi being a crow and... idk about Doll yet. One part of me wants to make her a moth but another part wants her to be a bird of prey like her aunt and cousin.

Also plot twist Nori and Yeva are alive! Nori is missing but most everyone, including Uzi and Khan, have assumed she's dead. Yeva is still fine tho. She's a half mute too.

I think I wanna make Doll bsically this au's version of Dr. Emilia, she's sees being a half mute as a curse and is trying to find the research the CFL hole city had done too see if she could finish what they started.

Also N, V, and J are mutes! I know V is gonna be a Timbercat (if i had a nickel for every time v was a cat i'd have two nickels-), I think J is gonna be a Newton Wolf (she gives that "I'm better than you l + ratio" vibe), and I am stuck on what to make N. Logic dictates he'd be a dog but the only domestic dogs are non-sapient mega mutes, and I really want to avoid using any fan-mutes as much as possible. Who knows he may end up becoming a Treasure Squirrel haha-

And since N, V, and J are mutes that unfortunately means we can have no Nuzi or Vizzy, cause, ya know-

Tessa is a surface-dwelling human who came across N, V, and J when they were young and raised them. Even now they all travel and live together and she sees them as basically their mom.

Tricuno kipo si concepts above ft. kipo recolors based off me learning the purple-pink tint was going to be more subtle originally, traces of trico himself & traces of a couple timbercats.

Okay so the original idea for half-tricuno si was that some random surface humans found trico dna & were like "lol what would happen if we injected it into this baby lol" & then it turned out that the dna had smth to do with the boy & trico, like the original them way before kipo's time or before the mutant-ing, and si was some sort of reincarnation/representation of their friendship, and that friendship was her anchor. And then i thought about a colony/society of tricuno mutes who're descended from the original boy & trico's village, & they're all part mutes who can transform like the part megamutes can, and whenever a megamute comes along they train them in the ways of an anchor; the default anchor is the friendship of trico & the boy. So kipo si doesn't usually wear as much clothes bc they're so in tune with their mute halves, using feathers & tough skin to protect against mild elements?

potential flaws for the tricuno & human symbiotic colony(cw forced loss of identity/memories discussed in the last one): -too much pressure on mega mutes or chosen-one-descended teens once they come of age, encanto-style? -due to living in close symbiotic relationships w tricuno for years, and being part or all mutes, the tlg(guardian clan??) colony has developed their own animalistic language, all chuffs and purrs and whines and trills and whistles and--basically it's near impossible for them to communicate w other mutes, let alone humans -could steal the plot of ico & have offspring w certain traits be cast out to the mercy of the rest of the surface world -everyone who joins the colony is mutated if they're human? All r given anchors, but keeping sapience/identity/memories is not guaranteed. -the more humanoid a tricuno mutnt, the more frail they're treated/less agency they're given, a little like old fashioned sexism

I think if Wolf was part mute she would not be an actual wolf, cause that just feels wrong with how much she h a t e s them?? I always liked a ram (sheep in wolf's clothing, aries related, curly hair, etc) or a scorpion better. Idk maybe that was just me

I like the idea of Wolf as a wolf mute but the au has to be very different to canon, I remember making a wolf mute Wolf design once with the idea in mind that her role was swapped with Kipos and therefore she didn't have to go through the horrid wolf sister betrayel, and instead became part of their group in the same way Kipo did with the timbercats. In this au kipo would've been human and may have even been betrayed by the timbercats instead, but I never really got that far into the story.

Otherwise the idea of a au that stays closer to canon would definitely work better with a sheep mute Wolf! And the ram idea is interesting because of the ram being Kipos (and then later Wolfs) birth/zodiac symbol like you've already briefly mentioned! I've actually already got a much older post that covers this too :)

If you’re unfamiliar with the series on Netflix called “Kipo and the Age of the Wonderbeasts” it’s very much worth your time. The full series is out at this point so you’d be able to get through it without any cliffhangers. Newbie drew Lady Grey here as one of the the “Timbercats”. Basically think lumberjack cats if you’re not planning on watching the show. -FF

ty!! ive been working on this project with @ cyrustheartist and @ rippedeyez aswell btw :] im not gonna go too in depth with it but ill throw some cool fun facts at ya - there are no humans, which means there are no humans to protect endangered animals, which caused birds to become SERIOUSLY overhunted, but! that was LONG ago, and over time birds have evolved to become more predator-like, some going back to their dinosaur roots :) - the cats are not modern, no tech or anything, theyre kinda in the medieval era? most of the clothes & accessories they wear are somewhat medieval-y too - there is magic!!! the cats can do all sorts of spells, and ues magic to create things (ex: glass) and warp trees into pretty treehouses! formiga (rippedeyez) said that the trees would kinda look like the timbercat village from kipo! - the cats have last names!! took us so long to figure out how we wanted them to work, and eventually just decided that different kingdoms/cities have different ways of creating last names - yknow how in wings of fire the continent the dragons live on is shaped like a dragon............ the continent the cats live on is shaped like a cat...... lol....... - foxes are less of predators to cats in this universe! they have a "u dont mess with us we wont mess with u" kinda relationship - more scary animals!!! bears and wolves exist and like to cause problems sometimes - like i mentioned earlier the cats do wear clothes ands accessories! how much they wear depends on what job they have, more dangerous (?) the job, the less clothes theyll wear, the more comfy and chill the job, the more clothes! i do have a problem with not knowing how to give cats clothes tho so mine arent as dressed up as cyrus's lol :P - ALSO i literally just said it but the cats have jobs!! all sorts of jobs :DD most are human jobs that we've just altered so cats can do them! like eelarch (my oc) is a writer, but cats cant really..... hold pens, so i gave her a glove that has a pen shaped like a claw! i think thats all the big things we have so far.. were still workin on it!!
