Bakugou has nicknames for people. He calls Ashido "Raccoon Eyes", Todoroki "Icy Hot"–

And Kirishima "Shitty Hair".

This is all normal until Kiri and Baku start dating and Kaminari calls him out for it. "Dude, it's not nice to call your boyfriend a 'shithead'."

Bakugou stares, "The fuck are you talking about?"

"Kirishima is your partner, right? So maybe you should call him something... I dunno, affectionate?"

"I do."

"Oh yeah? Name one thing you call Kirishima that isn't an insult."

Bakugou opens his mouth and is cut off by the redhead's voice.

"Hey bros, what's happenin'?" Kirishima jumps over the sofa and lands next to Bakugou, putting an arm around his shoulder, "Anything I miss?"

Kaminari sighs, "I'm telling your boyfriend here that the pet names he gives you are mean! How do they not bother you?"

Kiri blinks, "Because I do the same thing?"

Kaminari tilts his head and Kirishima nuzzles the side of Bakugou's face with his nose, his voice tilting into a childish tone, "He's my widdle bitch."

"Fuck off, bastard." Bakugou shoves at Kirishima halfheartedly but can't hide the smile that makes its way onto his lips. "You're so clingy."

"You love it," Kiri murmurs and kisses his cheek before bouncing up, going towards the kitchen, "and you love me."

"Choke."

"Later." He winks, "And I love you too, asshole." Kirishima blows him a kiss and walks off.

Kaminari is stunned speechless watching the interaction. It isn't normal behavior for two people that are in a relationship to call each other degrading names.

Then again, this is Kirishima and Bakugou. They're the furthest thing from normal.

And he realizes there's nothing wrong with that.

And can you really fucking see Bakugou "told the actual League of Villains to get on their knees and beg him to join them, will only do something if you ask him to do the opposite or challenge him to it, has to be kept in check or he might commit murder who knows" Katsuki even ALLOWING Kirishima to say something like that to, not just him, but ANYONE?

Bakugou would like murder him and he knows that, I think it's pretty safe to believe that everything between dragon kirishima and human bakugou is safe, sane, and consensual (that's a joke, while i personally believe that they're older in the fantasy au bc yknow travelling the world on their own, they're still basically 16 or something in the canon so weird stuff is still kinda weird)

So the concept of like

after a long period of travelling together, Kirishima is like "hey man, do you like wanna be bonded together? it's like a dragon thing and it's this whole ordeal and we'll literally be bound by our souls and it's a huge commitment so i get if you don't wanna that's fine, but i just think it would be really cool"

And then Bakugou is like "yeah sure, I literally hate everyone on this fucking planet except you, i'll get magically married to you"

LIKE YES THAT'S THE SHIT I WANT

AND IT'S THE SHIT I GET WITH THIS SHIP

like, oh my god, bakugou being like "yeah i guess you can tag along" but internally he's like holy shit i'm travelling with a fucking dragon and kirishima sees right through it but lets him have his moment

and them like FIGHTING TOGETHER??? and then one of them gets hurt and it's like "no i promise im okay" and it's like "dude you are literally dying please let me softly wrap this bandage around your hand"

Katsuki grabbed his arm, moving his head forward to place a light kiss on his forearm.

“Missed you.” Katsuki smiled, placing another soft kiss, the touch like swirling flower petals.

He chuckled, “Missed you too.” 

Katsuki linked their fingers together, hiding his face in his arms to drift off.

With a shaking hand, he lifted Katsuki’s palm cautiously. He felt his nerves tremble and his stomach churn and his heart burst to life as he slowly brought Katsuki’s hand to his lips.

He let out a quiet breath, looking at the tuft of Katsuki’s blonde hair as he let the skin of his palm tickle his lips.

Ok bakugou gets kit by a soulmate quirk and to his dismay and confusion it’s not Kiri his husband of 5 years at that point, but his rival for number 1 deku (stick with me it’s still kiribaku)

“Wtf do you mean soulmate?! There’s no way in fucken hell” lowers voice “no way my husband isn’t my soulmate.”

“I don’t control it. It just the way it works… I think…”

“What do you mean I think?!”

“Well everyone it’s been used on end up together so I just call it a soulmate quirk, I mean it has the red string and all.”

Bakugou very much freaks cuz he loves his husband and absolutely does not love deku of all people. Not in the romantic sense anyway. There basically family now.

So the whole fic is bakugou thinking about all the romantic and awkward but beautiful moments hes had with kiri and how it pales in comparison to just the friendly ones hes had with deku. There was just no way deku was his soulmate while kiri existed.

Kiri and deku obviously notice how weird he’s been acting and kiri asks him to try and talk with bakugou in their weird not talking but talking way. Deku agrees and they meet up on patrol one quiet night.

Something happens and they end up in a compromising position. Maybe the classic tumble and roll on top each other or something, and bakugou let’s it sit for a moment and he looks at deku and feels….. absolutely nothing….

He felt nothing, he wanted to get the heavy weight on top of him off we’re with Kirishima he has kissed him while like this. Flirted and made light but right now…. He feels nothing.

And then the girls words come back, “I think it works like that.” Not it does.

He finds her again and asked her for the details about her quirk, she explains that she thought it was just a line connecting you to the person who affects your life the most or something, and usually that resulted in a relationship, but she doesn’t know if any of them lasted or worked. Other people named it for her, she never really believed it was actually a soulmate type of thing.

And then Bakugou goes home and kisses the living fuck out of his husband because he was right.
