The ultimate showdown of GWG trilogy characters!
Hello, hello, hello everyone and welcome to the GWG Trilogy Character Poll! Here we will see once and for all which one of our beloved characters from Noir, Madlax and El Cazador De La Bruja is the most beloved by the masses! And by masses I mean the 6 tumblr uses who have seen all of the shows listed above. Submission form will be down below!
Rules:
1. You can submit multiple different characters from the trilogy! Nobody is included by default since I want your propaganda and rambles, so make sure to submit all of your favorites!
2. Be chill about it, okay? It's just a tumblr poll and anyone harassing others is getting instablocked.
3. Have fun!
Oh, also, alternatively, you can submit characters through asks, I'd just prefer using the submission form

meta i want to write but probably won't:
chloe is very clearly meant to be the dark parallel to kirika (most evident when we see kirika in true noir mode), but altena is meant to be the dark parallel to mireille.
(and altena's relationship with chloe is meant as a warped sort of parallel to mireille's relationship with kirika. altena pretends to love chloe, but if her hate can save quote is correct, she never truly loved her and only used her as a means to an end. mireille, from the beginning, intentionally said she was using kirika as a means to an end and pretended to hate her, but ended up truly loving her.)
...i could be so much more specific in meta but idk if i actually want to. write that essay.

I never got around to write this down properly but it sure belongs on the queer website known as tumblr dot com. You see, instead of bad remakes of animes that are already perfect, Netflix should make remakes of things that have huge potential but have become dated and show limitations due to their budget. I am talking, of course, about 2001 anime Noir, which I rewatched last year while writing my own killer thriller novel.
The plot of Noir is amazing, the subtext of a pair of lesbians hunting down fascist conspiracies engrained in European power structures while working through their own suicidal demons, is as relevant as ever. You would only have to add small nudges to make all that more explicit, but there is no need to rewrite the script much. And maybe, just maybe, at the dire final showdown, let them kiss on screen.
The pacing and animation are sometimes very dull if you compare them to modern day anime. It would be so much better to cut out the reused footage and see it play out in real locations, in historical and rundown Paris, forgotten ruins on the Italian countryside and deep, deep crypts.
In the anime each character just has The One Outfit, but in a life action series they could wear a wider range of fashion expanding on their personal style, Kirika in her streetwear swag, baggy shorts, flashy sneakers or the occasional flannel shirt, and Merielle being chique, femme, and powerful. Then save their iconic looks for the important scenes.
This means the spoken language would be French, as it was always meant to be. I actually asked several French friends if they could suggest current actors for this but sadly none of them watches life action movies. So if you have any ideas for the cast, I would love to hear them.
While not changing anything from the original story, I would add an epilogue. Let’s say, twenty years later. I just want to see them living as queens of crime, ruling the underworld from the shadows. Kirika looking sharp in a tuxedo and making her wife happy.
