A dark song about fallen skies and seemingly hopeless scenarios, and marks the collaboration of two of the most distinguished names in the dark electronic world, a duet between singer Elena Alice Fossi and Eskil de Covenant. Simonsson.
The band says:
"Sky Collapse represents memories from a recent hard period during which any possible light seemed to turn into deep darkness as if everything had been lost. The sky looked as if it had collapsed just when … an unexpected ray of hope started shining on a gloomy evening. The Myth and Science of Kirlian Photography
Kirlian photography, although the study of which can be traced back to the late 1700s, was officially invented in 1939 by Semyon Davidovitch Kirlian. The Kirlian photographic process reveals visible “auras” around the objects photographed. These photographs have been the subject of much controversies over the years. Interestingly, much of this was initially put forth by the inventor himself, along with his wife to explain the Kirlian photography phenomena.
Kirlian photography is also known as Aura Photography. To understand Aura Photography one should know what is aura. We have two bodies: one is physical visible body and another invisible auric body. For example people doing meditation have a glow on their face. This is aura.
The aura or energy field reflects the powerful connection our brain and nervous system create between the body, mind and spirit. A person’s thoughts, emotions and beliefs are mirrored in the aura, which is why the aura and chakras can be used to determine underlying issues related to physical symptoms.
In the year 2000, another Russian scientist Dr. Konstantin Korotkov updated this camera to directly record, process and interpret aura images with a computer. This camera is known as GDV Camera.
Therapeutic use
The most common therapeutic use of Kirlian photography is as a diagnostic tool. Variations in the shapes, colours and intensity of images produced are said to provide clues to the patients overall health and energy level. It indicates presence or absence of diseases, specific emotional states and other physiological or psychological conditions.
Scientific Research
Results of scientific experiments published in 1976 involving Kirlian photography of living tissue (human finger tips) showed that most of the variations in corona discharge streamer length, density, curvature, and color can be accounted for by the moisture content on the surface of and within the living tissue.
Konstantin Korotkov developed a technique similar to Kirlian photography called Gas Discharge Visualization (GDV). Korotkov’s GDV camera system consists of hardware and software to directly record, process and interpret GDV images with a computer.

How Kirlian Aura photography helps healers
Many common eastern medicine traditions including Reiki and acupuncture are based on energy fields in the body. Kirlian photography, because it gives a practioner the ability to visualize these energy fields is a useful diagnostic and evaluative tool.
Acupuncturists can, for example take aura photography of a person during an initial evaluation and see especially where the energy is out of balance. It is not a replacement for acupuncturist’s traditional diagnostics skills but rather a supplement and a way for them to demonstrate their assessment to a patient visually.
Scientists and practioners also theorize that Kirlian photography has a role in detecting cancer and other devastating diseases. For example, plants with cancer shows up with a very vivid carona or electrical field than healthy plants. This is due to the high metabolic rate of cancerous cells.
Kirlian Photography may also be able to treat patients under psychiatric care. The images has the ability to exhibit the emotional state of the person being photographed.

Procedure for Taking Aura Photography
The process of taking a Kirlian photo is a fairly simple one and does not even require the use of a camera. First, a sheet of photographic film is placed on top of a metal plate. Then, the object that is to be photographed is placed on top of the film. To create the initial exposure, high voltage current is applied to the metal plate. The electrical coronal discharge between the object and the metal plate is captured on the film. The Kirlian photograph, which shows a light, glowing silhouette around the photographed object, becomes visible as a result of developing the film.
Although the Kirlians invented this photographic process in 1939, they didn’t publicly release information about their experiments until 1958, and Kirlian photography wasn’t a
well-known phenomenon to the general public until 1970.
In GDV Camera, we have to place fingers of both right hand left hand on camera lens. Auric energy of these fingers are registered in the computer and software develops aura photograph of the person.
Myths about Kirlian Photography
The first mythical explanations put forth about Kirlian photography were suggested by the Kirlians themselves. They believed that these photographs were depicting the actual life-force or “aura” that many people believe surrounds all living things. New Age spiritualists believe that specially trained aura-readers can provide important insights into a person’s spiritual, emotional and physical state. The Kirlians were convinced that these photos could accurately predict emotional and physical states and could be used to diagnose illnesses.
The assertion that Kirlian photographs could depict emotional and physical states was quickly adopted by energy practitioners. While the use of Kirlian photography has largely fallen by the wayside as a diagnostic tool these days, there are still alternative practitioners who believe in it as an accurate way to help those who seek their services for healing all kinds of conditions both emotional and physical.
Kirlian photography has been a staple of paranormal research for some time as well. In the 1960s and 1970s paranormal researchers connected it to many types of unexplained phenomena, one of which was telepathy. Researchers proposed that telepathy was the result of people’s auras communicating together.

The science of Kirlian Photography
It can be hard to separate the fact versus the fiction when it comes to Killian photography, since these photos are very real and do dearly show some phenomenon at work. However, the fact that these glowing auras are seen around non-living objects as well as living objects in Kirlian photos is often simply ignored by those who want to believe in the supernatural explanation.
So if the glowing auras seen in Kirlian photography aren’t really caused by something spiritual, paranormal or our “life-energy” then what are they caused by?
The answer is water.
The high-voltage frequency applied to the metal plate rips the electrons off of atoms. The air around the photographed object becomes ionized. If that air contains any water, the resulting image will show the glowing silhouette around the object, which scientists actually call a “corona plasma discharge”.
When a person is sweating more due to being overheated, or excited in some way, Kirlian photographs taken of their hands at that time will show a larger more intense glow due to the increased moisture. Conversely, cold dry hands will produce an image which shows a weaker glow. Despite the ready availability of this accurate scientific explanation, New Age proponents of Kirlian photography will still argue that the person whose hands showed a larger, brighter glow is a natural healer when they are really just sweaty.
Factors other than humidity which can influence the final image include the pressure and angle of your hand touching the metal plate as well as the amount of voltage. Kirlian photographs taken of the exact same person can be very different taken only minutes apart due to these variables.
A very well-known Kirlian photography experiment documents a leaf as it slowly dies. The initial photograph was taken when the leaf was freshly cut and shows a prominent glow. As the leaf gets older more photos are taken, which show that the glow is starting to.

Kirlian was born in Yekaterinodar, now Krasnodar, Russia of Armenian descent. He possessed an early interest in, and aptitude for, work with electricity. Just before the Russian Revolution of 1917, Kirlian attended a conference in his home city at which Nikola Tesla gave talks and demonstrations. Tesla was one of Kirlian's predecessors in the field of corona discharge photography. In the 1930s Kirlian earned his living as an electrician in Krasnodar, near the eastern coast of the Black Sea in southern Russia—then the Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic, part of the Soviet Union. He married Valentina Khrisanovna in 1930.

During his life Semyon Davidovich invented many useful things. The city printing press used its electric furnace for casting fonts, flour mills - magnetic devices for cleaning grain.
Once he thought of getting a diamond out of ordinary sugar. Indeed, the strong pressure in the explosion of a sealed container with sugar turned it into crystals that perfectly cut glass.
In 1937, having completely developed the technology of making artificial diamonds, Kirlian wrote about his discovery to Stalin himself.
After a while in the apartment of the inventor there were employees of the NKVD, who withdrew all the crystals already received and the documentation of the experiments ...
In 1939, Kirlian was accepted as a repairman for electrical equipment in the city hospital.
Having repaired the physiotherapy apparatus in the hospital (it used a high frequency current), he noticed a strange pink glow between the electrodes.
Kirlian decided to try to shoot a film on the glow in the field of high frequency current of an object.

The first object that was "photographed" in this way was a coin. He began to put in the field a variety of subjects, photographing the leaves of trees, his own hands.
And he deduced the regularity: any living object placed in a high frequency field gave different glows, depending on the state of the object being photographed.
One "picture" - if a leaf of a tree has just been ripped off, the other - when after this it has passed, for example, an hour.
The glow from the hands of a healthy, sick or even tired person was also significantly different. So the Kirlian couple opened a window into the unknown world.
Their developments were protected by twenty-one author's certificates.
But few scientists had time to look into this world, since the "Gostechnik" with a stroke of the pen closed this window, put the works of the Kirlian spouses in top secret, closed topics.

Only 25 years after receiving the first results, the spouses were able to publish a detailed account of the nature of their invention and the results of the research.
Published in the publishing house "Knowledge" in 1964, a brochure "In the world of wonderful categories" has become a real sensation.
There were no means for patenting the "Kirlian effect" abroad, and after a while the opening became widely used in other countries for no particular reason.
The country lost its priority and currency, but the researchers gained fame.

By 1939 Kirlian had acquired a reputation as the best local resource for repairing electrical equipment, and was regularly called upon to fix the apparatus of scientists and laboratories in the area. In that year, he happened to witness a demonstration of a high-frequency d’Arsonval electrotherapy device. He noticed that there was a small flash of light between the machine’s electrodes and the patient’s skin, and wondered if he would be able to photograph it. (Kirlian was not the first person to witness this phenomenon, though the urge to photograph and investigate it seems to have been original with him.) Experimenting with similar equipment, he replaced glass electrodes with metal substitutes to take photographs in visible light; at the price of a severe electrical burn, he was able to take an unusual and striking photograph of an apparent energy discharge around his own hand.

Over the next ten years he and his wife developed and perfected apparatus for what we now call Kirlian photography. They employed a high-frequency oscillator or spark generator that operated at 75 to 200 kHz. They took photographs with no camera, merely with electric current and photographic film. The Kirlians then moved beyond static photography, to develop an optical filter that allowed them to witness the phenomenon in real time; they saw miniature fireworks displays of light and color playing around their hands.
Gradually the Kirlian‘s activity began to attract attention from professional scientists. Kirlian made controversial claims that the image he was studying might be compared with the human aura. An experiment advanced as evidence of energy fields generated by living entities involves taking Kirlian contact photographs of a picked leaf at set periods, its gradual withering being said to correspond with a decline in the strength of the aura. The Kirlians made many photographs of the leaves of various plants; by 1949, it was determined that Kirlian photography could detect incipient plant disease that was not otherwise detectable. In the same year, the Kirlians received a Soviet patent on their basic device, “a method of photographing by means of high-frequency currents.” Experimenting further upon themselves, the Kirlians acquired the first results showing that Kirlian photography could provide an index of a person’s physical health, and could illuminate the acupuncture points of the human body.

It was not until the early 1960s, however, that the Kirlian‘ efforts attracted widespread recognition and official support, once popular journalists wrote a series of newspaper and magazine articles about Kirlian photography. The Kirlians were awarded a pension and were provided with a pleasant new apartment and a well-equipped laboratory in Krasnodar. Their first scientific paper on Kirlian photography was published in 1961, in the (Russian) Journal of Scientific and Applied Photography. Scientific institutions around the Soviet Union were set to work on Kirlian photography in 1962. The first appearance in the US is unknown, but an educational film about Kirlian photography and energy emissions from living things was seen in a Southern California elementary

Kirlian Camera leaders Elena Alice Fossi & Angelo Bergamini sitting down below a black-red rose ((which is supposed to have a deeply important esoteric meaning)...). Angelo is turning the pages of a book dedicated to Admiral Carlo Bergamini. Carlo B. was the commander-in-chief of the Italian naval forces during both world wars. A great historical figure. Angelo is supposed to be his great-grandson, although this is never stated, so he'd be an Italian nobleman from a fallen aristocratic family. But it's well known that Angelo doesn’t like to talk and doesn’t flaunt his identity to the four winds... all the more reason why he has now definitively stepped out of the spotlight, devoting himself to music in the studio with his great friend Alice. The fact is that today Kirlian Camera are bigger than ever, even managing to place the last album in the top zones of the official German top 100 charts (Media Control / MTV) in spite of the decidedly anti-commercial sound and in spite of a certain defamatory campaign against them (they refused to vaccinate and promote activities in favour of the journalist Julian Assange/Wikileaks and against NATO)! More unique than rare in today's music scene.. in which even the vaguest residue of a real alternative to the system has been lost! We feel huge respect for these two REAL ARTISTS! Maybe they realy are aliens...?!? Someone who knows them well has even hazarded such an hypothesis... 👽👽

The double album "The Desert Inside / Drifting" is finally available on pre-sale. It contains the two mini-albums originally issued in 1997 and 1998. Official release date: January 27th, 2023 🖤🖤
* Curious note: * Curious note: The two records show an official lineup that does not include Elena Alice Fossi, yet, who joined Kirlian Camera on a permanent basis in January 2000. Almost no one knows that ElenAlice was an active collaborator on both "The Desert Inside" and "Drifting," but her name does not appear on the credits because the family had not given her permission to collaborate as she was too young. ElenAlice ignored her parents' order and played some E-Mu Orbit and MC-505 parts in some songs, not asking for any recognition, just out of friendship with Angelo, who then noticed her as a singer and composer very early on and even invited her to take the reins of the Stalingrad Valkyrie project. “Drifting” in particular, remained in the German alternative charts 12 months (1 year!) long. The rest, is today's history!
