You don’t have to be a political expert, or an historian, or an academic, to take a stand against the indiscriminate slaughter of innocent people.
You don’t have to know all the answers, you are allowed to simply say no more killing.
You are a human being. You are a piece of the fabric of the universe. Your heart beats in symphony with the other living beings on this Earth — every last one of them. Our pain is collective. Our grief is shared.
So many voices are speaking up about what’s happening in Gaza, and this spurred many other voices and unveiled that so many others indiscriminate slaughter of innocent people are happening everywhere, in Congo, in Sudan, the Uyghur in China, and so many others.
When you’re stuck in your overwhelm and grief, when you’re watching images of unimaginable loss and pain, let your sensitivities remind you of your humanity.
Grief is love with nowhere to go. And when you’re looking at these images that are making you feel so angry, underneath that anger is grief, and that grief is love.
And so when you trace your grief to the love underneath, you give that somewhere to go. You can go out into your community. You can care for people. You can go and spend that love somewhere.
People of power have systematically used their positions to create unbalanced power dynamics to make profit off oppression. This has been a never ending pattern that led to the biggest tragedies of history. They thrive from fear and separation, and so every time we have faith and every time we lean in for connection, we are resisting this system.
Our struggles as human beings is what unites us.

Throwback Thursday time!
Meet Fable, God/Jester of the Unjustly Damned
I did this in a sort of engraving style, eraser tool over black canvas, using a traditional pencil drawing I did as a the guiding lines.
