Czech writer Karel Čapek did not only coin the term ‘robot’ in one of his plays, he also wrote about animals frequently, as in War with the Newts. In this short piece from 1935 he takes the point of view of a cat:
@occasionalinanity submitted: This is Wedge btw
WHAT A GOOD GINGERY BOI
he’s already pilot orange, perfection
Then and now, they were so small but now they are large furry monsters!
My cat thinks playing with him is super fun for me and uses it to exploit me a la Charlie Brown and the football. He brings me his wand toy and acts like he wants to play so I start to play with him. He’ll bat at it for a moment…two. He makes it clear that my sitting down play is not good enough so I get up and go to run around the house with him. He PROMPTLY stops playing and pivots to, “So you’re up anyways, so how about you get me some food or treats. Now, human.”
I fall for it every time.
