i was today years old when i found out that i cannot ship kiyohyuu because apparently most shippers like to portray kiyoshi as some sort of bad pre-2007 SEME (using this cringeworthy label on PURPOSE). i removed the ship from my list. i just shipped it because they’re basically senru if they were in the same team and weren’t on different levels of skill. hyuuga is a kind of mix of mitsui and rukawa. i’d say fujimaki modelled him mostly after mitsui because the three-pointer thing is similar. the “d’aho” is a rip-off of rukawa’s catchphrase and that’s why i connected kiyohyuu to senru. hyuuga has a rebellious phase where he grows out his hair to a ridiculous length and wants to be a thug like mitsui. ANYWAY. just putting it in context, why i shipped this in the first place. i’m livid because i love kiyoshi, he’s on my top 3 fave characters, and to think these asshats are butchering his character for their weird fetishistic nasty shit. kiyoshi is the softest, kindest most loving guy out there. he’s also smart and thoughtful and strong-willed and he is protective of his friends. literally what the hell.

Oooohhhh my my my… for the first couple of episodes of KNB I thought there won’t be any interesting ships for me to fangirl about and…. well… I WAS WRONG. (pardon my multishipping ass)

#1 Aokuro. LISTEN. LISTEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNNN. THIS SHIP GIVES ME SO MUCH LIFE YOU HAVE NO IDEA. I cherished every interaction they had, and that one ova solely about them in Teiko melted my heart. I was sold from the very first time. God I love them almost as much as they love each other.

#2 Aokise. I mean Kise decided to play basketball after 0,00001 seconds of watching Aomine play and looked up to him ever since. They are such a train wreck but when they are together they’re unstoppable. Very very good shit I could watch them argue all day every day.

#3 Midoaka. They’ve been in love since Teiko day one no one can convince me otherwise. Plus jealous Midorima is so cute I can’t even.

#4 MidoTaka. Takao is amazing on every level and his relationship with Midorima is incredible. I’m the weakest for fondly dragging people who take themselves way too seriously

#5 KiyoHyuu. It’s not that I ship them hardcore, but it’s illegal in every fandom not to ship the mom and the dad of the team together, isn’t it?

- bonus: I really like Momoi and Kuroko as well, she’s such a good and sweet girl she deserves to have the man she loves !!

But of course, fam! Thank you for sending this ask! Since it’s prettyobvious what my tip-top kurobas OTP is, let me begin from the ground up:

5th place- It’s a tie between Kiyoshi/Hyuuga andNijimura/Akashi

Kiyoshi is a runaway favorite of mine, he’s such a big cinnamon roll! And I love him with Hyuuga because they’re each other’s WONDERWALL– always encouraging, always supporting each other, always having each other’s back. And they’re like the team mom and dad sothe chemistry just sits on me quite well.

Akashi’s pretty much his own man—smart, reliable, mature,independent—and I think only capt. Niji can handle that red hot flame that wasAkashi Seijurou…and they just look great together, so ship!

4th place – Kagami/Kuroko

For a long time, I was lead to believe that Kagami isKuroko’s better half. Light and shadow, yin and yang. And I feel that Kuro’sjust so smitten with Kaga right on the first time he laid eyes on the red head.And whenever I see Kuro look at Kaga with innocent eyes and then vice-versa, Ijust melt.

3rd place – Midorima/Takao

Throw someone so hopelessly prudish into someone sorefreshingly fun and I’m sold. They’re polar opposites but when I see them lookat each other, it’s like they simply slip into a world of their own, toleratingand loving their infinite differences.

2nd place – Kagami/Kise

This came a little bit late for me and just kind of blew outof proportion. It actually hurts me, that the fandom doesn’t acknowledge thisship so much but I can just see a lot of potential here. I’ve always said thatKagaKise is my pirate ship, full of exotic treasures. Because BaeKagami is themost husbando material of them all, he’s such a sweet, stuttering, domesticatedidiot, your typical sometimes-headstrong-sometimes-shy, boy-next-door crush.And then put him side by side with proud, sassy, and beautiful Kise Ryouta…gaaaah, my shipper heart! And Kagami is not mean to Kise unlike how he treatsthe rest of the GoM. And he’s always invested on Kise’s games/matches, hereacts accordingly whenever Kise is at a disadvantage or hurt or whatevs(sorry, I’m probs the only one seeing this haha, my imagination and personalbias go out-of-hand most of the time). And Kise is pretty fond of sweet,darling Kagamicchi too! (Oh I just can’t help imagining BaeKagami bringinghealthy bento boxes for Kise when he’s on a modeling gig… and when Kisethanks/praises him, he’ll just blush a lot and say stupid excuses—this isactually a headcanon of one of KagaKise writers in Ao3 and I can’t help but putit in my fave HC shelf as well).

1st place – Aomine/Kise (like heh, as obvious asAugust coming after July)

I can’t even begin why I love this ship so much. THEY’RE JUST PERF FOR EACH OTHER! I mean, look at their history… and their chemistry… so much about them is supported by canon material (I’m just too effin biased)… And I don’t know any better but Aomine and Kise are justthe OTP of all OTPs for me, my ROCKET SHIP, yes. The AoKise dynamics is teemingwith thrilling possibilities, I can squeeze them into every feel and every mood–angst and fluff and all else in between. I can play with them on all myfavorite tropes and they’re just too damn cute when they’re being idiotstogether. And I happen to like a lot of ships in KnB, but I can only write for AoKise(guess that speaks well for how much I love them?)

I pretty much ship everybody withanybody in KnB because it’s a frickin’ shiny shipfest. Gimme these and I devourthem all: NijiHai, KiseHai, AoHimu, AkaMido, MidoMura, KiKasa, AkaKise,KuroMomo (See? Too damn many, I just have 2 or 3 notps that I do not touch atall). Sorry, fam, you’re not even asking for the WHY I SHIP my top5 OTPs butI’m usually blabbering useless things like these.
