KJ wakes up at the same time every day in the morning.

7:37am. 3 snooze alarms with 3 minute intervals. If they don't get up within those 9 minutes they're gonna have a bad mental day but literally no one will notice a difference.

I can't say specifically what they do first thing in the morning bc I don't know but it involves doing some actions repeatedly 3 or 7 times. or a mix of both. Then they're set for having a good day :]

That entirely depends on where they are in their life.

They probably wish they'd stop with the extreme self-loathing but you'll never catch them admit that and they're gonna do the exact opposite to achieve that and feed into the hate because they don't believe they deserve better :')

KJ hates themself an ungodly amount, but they also have a lot of care for those around them - and that includes their parasite worm Jamie.

They just didn't consider their carelessness towards themself would eventually have consequences for their parasite in a situation where KJ is actually alive to face said consequences.

Take away their worm and. well......

Wormless KJ want absolutely nothing more than their parasite back and they feel so unbelievably guilty because it was entirely their own fault. Which is delicious fuel for their self-loathing </3 Not only is their parasite vital for KJ to function normally, but they've tried so, SO hard to not let their self-loathing affect those around them - and it affected the one thing that's closest to them. And now they're so exposed and vulnerable with nothing to keep it in check.

I WILL SAY THO KJ eventually treats themself with kindness, though actually loving themself is gonna take more work if it ever happens. Only reason they try to be nicer to themself is because Roger was annoyingly persistent in keeping in touch to be there for them when they got their worm rights revoked bc that was pure agony and hell for an unbearable amount of time LOL (KJ does get their worm back don't worry i'm not that cruel <3)

freya marske's a restless truth and a power unbound: gnashes my teeth. really fun series! i think the last book was the best! 4p bought this for me.

stephen graham jones's the only good indian: LIFECHANGING BOOK! SCARY! BEST BOOK I'VE READ IN A LONG TIME!

kj charles's slippery creatures: good, but i didn't feel the need to go out and get the next couple books immediately.

juliet marillier's daughter of the forest: ough. really good classic doorstopper historical fantasy. read most of it while on vacation.

alexis hall's 10 things that never happened: very sweet. i like alexis hall. annie bought me this book.

geddy lee's my effin life: i'm sure you can figure out how i feel about it.

this year i am trying to read down my TBR pile. so far i have read:

t kingfisher's the hollow places. pretty good! scary! annie lent me this.

anthony horowitz's the twist of a knife. not my favorite of this series but i continue to admire tony for his meditations on mystery writing in the form of mystery books about mystery books.

morgan talty's night of the living rez. this wrecked me. i have a major structural bug up my ass about it (i think positioning it as a set of short stories does it a disservice and it should have been marketed as a novel) but i can't really complain when i spent two hours sobbing about the final section when i finished reading it.

up next is susanna clarke's piranesi. jonathan strange is one of my all time favorite books so i believe this will also be a favorite.

-Killjoy plays minecraft with Omen, Jett, and Phoenix

-Phoenix actually can’t eat spicy food becuase he’s from Britain (this is 100% UK slander, idc) and Jett makes fun of him for it. She also makes fun of him via the “British people aren’t people” memes.

-Cypher gets everyone the best presents becuase he goes through everyone’s search history

-Cypher has hacked into said minecraft server and built a statue of himself there. None of the players have bothered to remove it. 

-Omen has a collection of cat ears. Fade has stolen a pair or two. 

-KJ once got a bunch of Sova’s nature photographs professionally printed as a gift. He claimed he didn’t cry, but he totally did.

-Breach and Astra once attempted to modify their arms to have more powers. Chamber stopped them. There were some explosions.

-KAY/O works as a wifi router, wherever he goes, so does the signal.

-Raze goes paint-balling with Jett and Neon sometimes.

-Reyna, Sage, and Viper occasionally have self-care nights.

-Harbor taught Breach how to ride a motorcycle.

Mid-Year Book Meme (2023)

@sixappleseeds said that anyone who wanted to could do this so I have decided that includes me

1. Best Book You’ve Read So Far in 2023? I've read a lot of good books this year! Some Desperate Glory by Emily Tesh was a good read, the Will Darling trilogy by KJ Charles was also really good. My favourite debut so far is To Shape a Dragon's Breath by Moniquill Blackgoose. Some others will be used later but have a right to be here too.

2. Best Sequel You’ve Read So Far in 2023? The Mysteries of Thorn Manor by Margaret Rogerson! Nice fun sequel novella that ties up some loose ends and lets readers spend more time with the characters (and the house, which has Opinions).

3. New Release You Haven’t Read Yet, But Want To? The Archive Undying by Emma Mieko Candon is next on my list. And on my library borrows pile.

4. Most Anticipated Release For Second Half of 2023? Moon of the Turning Snow by Waubgeshig Rice is definitely up there, as are A Power Unbound by Freya Marske and The Salvation Gambit by Emily Strutskie.

5. Biggest Disappointment? Mortal Follies by Alexis Hall, which made me feel like my brain was being eaten by gummy worms. In a bad way.

6. Biggest Surprise? A Half-built Garden by Ruthanna Emrys! I was expecting to like it, but I wasn't expecting how often I just... think about it apropos of nothing now. It's one of the first cli-fi stories that is optimistic but avoids becoming too saccharine for my taste.

7. Favorite New Author? Terry Pratchett is kind of new to me, I had read Nation but this was my first time picking up Discworld books. KJ Charles is the other new author whose work I've read quite a bit of this year.

8. Newest Favorite Character? I don't have that many characters that I'm WILDLY attached to any characters that I read about this year. Emily Wilde from Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries is very good. I like that she's better at relating to fae than humans due to autism social awkwardness of no particular diagnosis I'm sure.

9. Newest Fictional Crush? *flashback to that time everyone thought I was lying when I said I didn't have a crush on anyone during an icebreaker due to my brain going completely blank* Uhhh...

10. Book That Made You Cry? And This is How to Stay Alive by Shingai Njeri Kagunda, in the The Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy 2021 collection definitely brought tears to my eyes (older sibling FEELINGSSSSS etc), but the last book had me an utter wreck was last year when I read Nona the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir.

11. Book That Made You Happy? The Luminaries by Sarah Dennard was fun and made me laugh as I liveblogged it for my friends. A Half-built Garden also merits a second mention because it was nice to find a book in the genre that didn't make me either deeply despairing or violently annoyed.

12. Favorite Book Adaptation You Saw This Year? I guess Nimona wins by default, I don't think I've watched any other adaptations.

13. Favorite Review You’ve Written This Year? I guess my June reading list wins by default also because I don't think I've written any other reviews.

14. Most Beautiful Cover? The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi by Shannon Chakraborty has a gorgeous cover, I like that it looks kind like it's printed from woodcuts almost.

15. What Books Do You Need To Read By The End of The Year? The Crane Husband by Kelly Barnhill is on my list.

nope! i do refer to my students as my kids sometimes on accident and have freaked out more than one person by saying “my kids” lmao

currently i play rugby, although i grew up playing a lot of sports—i did volleyball, basketball, track, and danced competitively (which is probably the sport i miss the most)

me? using sarcasm? never :) here i usually don’t because it doesn’t come across the same over text and irl it’s usually just with people i’m comfortable with and know will get it

and thank god for that. thank god that he knows her well enough not to second-guess this, even if it feels too good to be true. steve moves closer, boxing her in with his hands pressed flat to the bench on either side of her body. the small of her back meets the cool granite. steve’s breath stutters at the familiarity and difference of the way she meets his eyes. he feels like he’s bungee jumping without a cord, with how she looks at him, feels like he’s standing right on the cliff-edge.

a hand moves from the benchtop, thumb brushing along the side of her jaw before carefully gripping her chin. he kisses her then, and it feels like sunday brunch surrounded with family. it feels like laughter on christmas morning. it feels like late nights giggling with hot cocoa. it feels like home.

a participação no y factor foi um tiro no escuro, então a rejeição na segunda fase não foi uma surpresa. a junção da boyband e tudo que se desenvolveu posteriormente, foi uma surpresa. nunca se imaginou sendo um astro mundial, tampouco alguém com tantos fãs malucos. quando se olhava no espelho e via aquele jovem franzino, de dentes tortos e postura comprometida, não conseguia entender como poderia ser tão amado e desejado. por essa razão, kj nunca se deslumbrou com o assédio e devoção, pois sua falta de autoestima nunca tornou isso palpável pra ele — era irreal, desproporcional.

não que kurt fosse alguém ingênuo, ele só sempre preferiu enxergar o melhor das pessoas. claro que a partir disso acabou quebrando a cara diversas vezes; mas esse era o jeitinho kj de ser, constantemente incentivando as pessoas, cedendo por elas e nunca deixando de ser o seu melhor em tudo o que fazia. mas desde a última decepção, kj cansou. agora a malícia em suas palavras é bem mais perceptível, apesar de nunca deixar de ser o palhaço da turma que sempre foi. é alguém inquieto e agitado, lida com sua ansiedade desde a acensão da banda, optando por frequentar a terapia quando tem tempo. mas não se engane com a postura de bom moço e mesmo com um histórico exemplar, quando kj se desvencilhou das amarras de bom moço, se demonstrou um grande galanteador. mas um galanteador sincero, já que mesmo tentando ser alguém diferente, é impossível para ele conseguir enganar, mentir ou iludir alguém - apesar de tentar, no final acaba expondo suas intenções. antes mesmo de sua mudança de comportamento, kurt não poderia ser definido como alguém tímido pois era desinibido e extremamente sociável.

What your Valorant main says about you in my perspective after playing Valorant for some time (and as a Cypher main):

Brimstone - Oh I can trust you with everything, Daddy Brim for the win. You either have a ton of lineups for that molly which land and you often clutch or if you're a new Brim enjoyer you die inside as your lineups don't land and the enemy gets the win. You're either very responsible, or just like how much of a meme he is. I like ya.

Viper - You're either a mean egirl, or just some guy that swears he only plays her because he can't smoke. We all know you're just here for her hotness, which I can't argue with. I don't recall many bad Vipers, and as I play as her sometimes you're a solid person.

Omen - oh come on who doesn't main Omen. He is a solid character that has a good kit, good background and is overall fun. You're either an edgy kid that tps instead of walking or you're actually just a chill m8. Please if you play in low elo learn how to smoke, it is painful to see some of these smokes fr. No Agos, I will not main him just because he looks cool. Also some of you that play as Omen are actual sweethearts that smoke me if I ping, and I appreciate you for that.

Killjoy - You're either fun, or you instalock and then tell me the most obvious fact about placing trips. If you instalock KJ and then force me to fill, well you're rude. Don't do that. I used to main KJ and please for the love of God change that turret position sometimes. Sometimes maining KJ is a phase, other times it's a lifestyle. Get off tiktok while you're chilling in backsite and maybe sometimes get off B on ascent. Everyone knows the KJ setup on B ascent and it's boring af /j. Overall you're chill, unless you get on my nerves with using your alarm bot on flank when there's already my trip there.

Cypher - You have good taste my friend. Even though it pains me when you don't have any setups, or when you place a bad trip on flank. Just kneel, and get that damn trip at the right hight. But overall you're fun if you know anything about using his utility, but you're making me cringe if you don't use the damn utility at all. Trip flank well, use that damn camera flash, and don't play like a duelist.

Sova - You probably played CS before switchinf to Valorant. You're most of the time a chill person, sometimes you steal avaragejohnas's lineups, sometimes you make your own. I love teaming up with a Sova and destroying people. You're cool, but the disrespect I feel when you kill me with a shockdart is agonising

Sage - Unpopular opinion, I don't like bad Sage mains. Specifically battle Sages. Oh for heaven's sake IF I PLACED A TRIP ON FLANK DON'T WASTE THE DAMN WALL TO COVER IT! This should be common sense! Your wall has so much potential bro! Or when you revive someone just to waste your ult at the end of the round, or when you only heal yourself. But. If you're a good Sage, I bow and kneel to you. Because you are a mountain.

Phoenix - Flash me again and I will find and punch your ass.

Jett - You're dead.

Reyna - A lot of times I have more kills than you, and yet you're calling me bad fr. You go mid and don't do entry then die giving the enemy a number advantage orrr you're afk. There was only one Reyna main that was fun to play with and it was an 11 year old boy.

Raze - eghem: "MY TRIPSS NOOOOOO" I yell after a Raze nade destroys my trip. I like my team Raze, because you're chill, probably love movement characters and have a good music taste, but the enemy Raze always makes me dead inside.

Breach - Oh you're cool I like you. Basically the same reaction as with Brim mains. You're a solid part of the team.

Skye - Flash me again and I will kill you part 2. You're either a great source of info, or you're a troller. You're alright ^-^

Astra - Never seen a bad Astra main. You're probably having the time of your life playing this forsaken game. You're smiling after basically getting match mvp and drinking tea. You're a great person.

Chamber - You're popping off too hard, and Riot next patch will nerf you. Or you're a child, or a simp.

Neon - Please stop only buying a judge just so you'll have funky clips. 90% of the time it doesn't work. Other then that you're a very chill person.

Fade - Emo girl or an Emo boy. You're very chill, miss your lineups if you even have them and basically chill.

Harbor - You.... exist? Wow. Yeah Harbor can be hard, and if you master him, congrats! But I do have a lot of clips where I destroy Harbors...
