hello!!! i was wondering if you could maybe write some head canons on what it would be like dating klaus baudelaire? preferably with a female reader but honestly anything works!! ^_^
n/a ; i really forgot how much i loved asoue 😭😭
         ⌦        ⿸        🎧        .        💌         .       🎀
okay so i feel like at first when u guys first start dating he wouldn’t be like super affectionate but it’d grow on him
like as time progresses handholding and cuddling nd stuff would be more common
klaus baudelaire would 100% read to you
during a lazy day, at night if you can’t sleep, or even when you don’t want him too
he wants to share all the knowledge he knows and all the things he wants to learn w you
its a must that you and his sisters get along
which you are already friends w violet so 😼
at first violet was sort of skeptical about the relationship between u guys because so many ppl have left or died and what not
but then she realizes how much happier klaus is and like all is forgotten
sunny would want to cook w you tbh
it rlly make klaus happy seeing his fav ppl get along :DD
klaus would be so interested in all the things u like
i can see him reading all your favorite books or biographies on your favorite authors
researching your favorite songs and meanings behind it all just so he understands when you ramble on about it
i feel like he’d want to spend all his days w you
so basically he’s just like awesome 😻😻

You’re so Pretty (Klaus Baudelaire x GN!Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: With a peaceful and quiet moment of studying with Klaus, you notice some features on him that you admire. So, you tell him. Pronouns: You/Yours Warnings: Fluff Word Count: 1.2k A/N: This was requested but Tumblr ate the request </3, this one is short and sweet, in my opinion anyways.
Quiet moments are extremely rare in the Baudelaire children's case ever since their parents died. They were constantly on the run, fighting away from Count Olaf and his group of associates, wondering who they could trust and who they couldn’t.
They finally had some sort of quiet at Prufrock Preparatory School, a gloomy boarding school that they were sent to since there were no other guardians to watch over them. They could ignore the nasty comments from Carmelita, the short and pink covered girl who had made it her mission to make everyone feel inadequate to her. They could ignore them because at this school they at least had multiple people defending them and sticking by their sides. Those people were Duncan Quagmire, Isadora Quagmire, and you.
Isadora and Duncan were currently pretending to be Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire (a sack of flour) for gym class so the two eldest could study, Sunny staying with her siblings. Since there were only three Baudelaire siblings, you went with them to study instead of going with the Quagmires.
Violet had taken Sunny to the library, expressing a need for some English textbooks that were closer to date than the dust covered and ripped pages of the ones she was provided by her teacher earlier that day. Sunny babbled her preference for a change of scenery, something different than the orphan shack they had been shoved into.
Klaus had stayed in the leaky orphan shack, he had all he needed to study. You would have followed Violet to give him a bit of peace but he grasped your wrist gently, asking you to stay so he wouldn’t be alone. You nodded and returned to your seat, asking him a few pop quiz questions to which he answered correctly with no hesitation.
There was a comfortable silence between the two of you. Sounds of pages flipping, pencil scribbling on paper, and the occasional shift in the seat had filled the room. Klaus had been muttering a few facts under his breath as he tried to connect them to the almost useless textbook in front of him.
Your gaze had shifted up from your writings, landing on Klaus’s concentrated expression. A small smile grazed your features before you looked back down, eyes flickering up once more then right back down. You hummed a bit, inhaling a quiet breath, “You’re so pretty Klaus.” You spoke into the room, not even looking up to see his reaction.
It was a simple comment, small compliment. You weren’t embarrassed or nervous to say it, the words actually spilled from your lips rather easily. That’s why you just went back to your work, jotting a few notes, skimming the book. Silence had enveloped the two of you once more and you didn’t mind it, it was a simple comment.
You looked back up to see what page Klaus was on and he was looking right at you, your reflection slightly in his glasses. His face was filled with shock? Confusion? A small blush had formed on his face, so wide that it went from his cheek and inflamed his ears. His eyes were slightly wide, the light from the makeshift light source that Violet made was glossing over them. His mouth was only slightly open, he wasn’t gaping like a fish, but he did look like he was trying to find words. All that came out was a quiet, “What?”
You had blinked at him, already forgetting what you had said until it filled your mind once more. You shrugged, “I said you’re pretty.” You repeated, now making eye contact with him, studies long forgotten. He furrowed his brows, putting his pencil down, “What prompted you to say that?” He asked you.
No one had ever called him…pretty before, so it felt foreign for him to hear it. He hadn’t been doing anything that could gain a compliment of such from anyone, nonetheless you.
You thought about it, tilting your head with a twist of your face as you thought. “Nothing necessarily,” You began, now softening your expression, arms crossing to lay on the table in front of you, “I just looked up and wanted to tell you.” You told him simply, shrugging once more. Klaus pursed his lips, deeply sighing, “You think that I'm…”
“Pretty.”
“Why?”
“Why?” You asked with a raised brow, unsure of what to make of the question.
He nodded, hands now messing with his glasses, “Yes, I did ask why.” He spoke, slightly avoiding your gaze.
You puffed air into your cheeks, shifting your arms on the table for a more comfortable position. You chuckled a bit, “Um, well.” You began, not expecting him to ask such a question. You found his gaze once more, his more hesitant than yours. Your eyes were gentle, welcoming, and kind. “Your glasses are big and they frame your face kind of awkwardly,” You observed to which he shifted and adjusted them, “and it's cute when you have to adjust them.” You giggled out when he did just that.
He had realized he had been caught doing exactly what you described, he playfully rolled his eyes, “Okay, I do not-”
“But they make it easier to see the shine in your eyes.” You interrupted him, the comment caused him to look at you surprised. You cleared your throat, “Your eyes are brown but it's like gold is glittered over them.” You explained, your words met with silence so you decided to continue. You took a deep breath, “You have freckles and they’re prominent when you’re focused.” You continued on, eyes unintentionally scanning over his face where his freckles stare back at you. You turned to face him completely instead of it just being your head, biting the inside of your cheek. “When moonlight or sunlight hits you” You spoke quietly, your own eyes shining, “you kind of glow.” You informed him.
You remembered every time the two of you were outside together, how the sun would shine on him, making him look like some sort of scene from a book. When you walked back to the shack at night, the moon high and bright, his skin would glow like it was absorbing the light, an ethereal look he seemed to never notice about himself.
Klaus listened to your words carefully, following every phrase until you were silent, eyes glistening as they looked into his. It was only then he realized you had finished your explanation. He sputtered a bit trying to find words, moving his hands to awkwardly move his glasses and move hair out of his face. He inhaled deeply, exhaling just the same, “Thank you.” He expressed his gratitude to you quietly, reaching his hand out over the table slowly, nervously.
You noticed this action and moved your hand to move to his. He turned his hand so his palm would be upward and you interlock your fingers with his.
The two of you went back to studying, scribbling on paper and turning pages, fingers still interlaced above the table.
Klaus continued to look through his studies before mumbling a small, “You’re pretty too.” He wasn’t sure if you heard it, so he decided to not repeat it due to him being quite flustered from the past few moments. You did hear it, you smiled and held his hand a little tighter, writing down the boring information from the textbook.
Quiet moments are extremely rare in the Baudelaire children's case. Klaus Baudelaire wished to relive this specific peaceful moment everyday, because he didn’t think about anything else other than you. He would like to keep life that way.

Note
First off your username is a whole ass mood, also, could I request a fic with Klaus Baudelaire? Their on the Qeequeg and reader gets jealous of Fiona and her flirting with klaus. I’m a whore for Klaus Baudelaire
Guess (Klaus Baudelaire X GN!Reader)
Masterlist
Request Something!
Summary: Y/n has been with the Baudelaires since they showed up on Monty’s doorstep. When they board the Queequeg, Y/n can’t help the jealousy overcome when Fiona gets a little too close to Klaus.
A/N: I can’t remember the exact plot of the grim grotto, so in this they’re all just kinda hanging out on the Queequeg ig lol
***
If you had asked Y/n L/n where they saw themself in a few months, they wouldn’t have guessed all the unfortunate events they and the Baudelaires had experienced. Bouncing from guardian to guardian, only tagging along with the Baudelaires because the late Dr. Montgomery Montgomery, their own guardian, was tragically murdered and coincidentally wanted Y/n to be taken care of by the also late Josephine Anwhistle. Being chased down by a homicidal, overgrown theater kid after the Baudelaire fortune.
They also wouldn’t have guessed their current predicament, being stuck in a submarine captained by a teenager. Her name was Fiona Widdershins. She had become captain of the Queeqeug ever since her stepfather got a distress call from a manatee. She was looking for a sugar bowl, the same one that the Baudelaire’s former guardian Esme Squalor was after.
She was also very captivating, especially to a certain Baudelaire. And it pissed Y/n off.
Klaus wasn’t theirs; they knew that. Y/n was constantly reminded of that. But watching as he and Fiona worked closely together to locate the sugar bowl, flirty remarks from her every now and then, Y/n couldn’t stop the jealousy from overcoming them.
“He doesn’t even know her,” Y/n muttered as she watched the two laugh at a joke from afar.
“You know,” Y/n was startled by Violet’s sudden presence beside them, “You could tell him how you feel. It would be better than moping around, watching the two of them.”
“Absolutely not.” Y/n shook the ridiculous idea away. “That would end in disaster.”
“How so?”
“When Klaus rejects me-”
“He won’t.”
“Fine. If he rejects me, we’ll still be stuck together in a submarine until God knows when. And the situation’s awkwardness would be so suffocating that I would jump out into the sea to escape it.”
“Oh, don’t be so dramatic.” Violet laughed at the visual of Y/n’s words. “Klaus won’t reject you, Y/n. I know it.”
“Then why is he flirting with Fiona right in front of us like that?”
“He probably doesn’t see it as flirting, just regular conversation. Klaus may be book smart, but he’s not exactly versed in things like relationships.”
Y/n knew this was true. They had known the Baudelaires long enough to know that they weren’t very experienced when it came to romantic feelings. Most of the experience they did have was from the people they had encountered when their unfortunate events had first started to occur.
“Whatever, I’m still not gonna tell him.”
“Tell who what?” Y/n was again startled by another Baudelaire sibling, Klaus. It seemed that Fiona had gone to steer the submarine in the needed direction, because she was out of the room.
“Actually, we were talking about-” Y/n put their hand over Violet’s mouth to stop her from exposing them.
“Nothing!” Y/n had said that louder than they intended to. They cleared their throat. “We weren’t talking about anything.”
Klaus gave Violet a look. Y/n couldn’t decipher what the look meant, he looked confused, but there was some kind of message in his eyes. Violet apparently knew the message because she made up some excuse to leave.
“I’ll go check on Sunny.” She left quickly, leaving Klaus and Y/n alone in the room.
“Shouldn’t you go back to Fiona?” Y/n immediately hit themself mentally for the question. Why did they feel the need to bring Fiona up now that she and Klaus had finally taken a break from flirting with each other?
“Why would I go back to Fiona?” Klaus looked even more confused. Y/n couldn’t help rolling their eyes.
“Why wouldn’t you? You two were flirting and close together so much that I’m half surprised you didn’t start kissing right there.” Why was Y/n digging themself into an even deeper hole?
Klaus laughed.
Why the hell was he laughing?
“Y/n, are you jealous?” He asked, looking intently at them. They averted their eyes, knowing that looking at him would reveal everything. They didn’t feel like jumping out of the submarine right now.
“That’s absurd.” They scoffed. “Public displays of affection are just disgusting, that’s all.” Klaus laughed again.
“Disgusting? Really?” He took Y/n’s hands in his, making them look at him. “Y/n, there was nothing affectionate about my conversations with Fiona.”
“Maybe not on your side, but she seemed to think differently.”
“Why do you care so much?”
“I don’t want to see some girl flirting with the guy I like. Is that such a crime?” Y/n started punching themself on the inside again. Klaus looked pleasantly surprised.
“Last time I checked, it’s not.” Y/n couldn’t understand why he was being so cheeky. “If it makes you feel any better, though, I have it on good authority that the guy you like isn’t interested in Fiona.”
Oh.
“Oh, um… Is the guy I like interested in anyone?” Y/n asked. They had a feeling where this was going, but you could never be too sure about these kinds of things. Klaus nodded.
“Yes, he seems to like a particular someone.”
“And that is?”
Klaus moved closer to Y/n, leaning down. Their lips were so close to touching yet so far.
“Guess.”

Uhmmmmmmmmmmmmm I don’t know if your still taking requests for asoue but if you are could I get some headcanons of what it would be like dating Klaus? I feel like i’ve read everything and I need MOREEEE
of course bb! i feel like there is not nearly enough klaus stuff to read, so here!
Dating Klaus Headcannons <3
klaus would be so awkward at first
not enough books prepared him for this
so maybe he'd limit things to hand holding, and thats barely
u have to be the one to initiate things, like kissing his cheek or hugging him
eventually he'd fall more into it and give you a kiss on the cheek or wrap an arm around you
he know his parents would have loved you
also he definetly reads to you, his voice flowing through your ears as you lay on his chest, imagining the pictures in your mind
you've both definetly fallen asleep cuddling
and violet has causght you guys on all of those occasions
klaus would find a book that reminds him of you and give it to you as a gift, which made you swoon
and of course you ask him to read it for you
its a romance story
and in the middle of the book, you push the book away from him and kiss him gently
you too are so in love <3
a/n: sorry this is so rushed, i literally havent been around my laptop for a whole good bit on vacay!!!

would u write klaus baudelaire x naive clingy reader and how they mightve met??
ofc!!!!!!! 🤭🤭🤭
-his parents knew your parents and they introduced you
-he thought you were really pretty but he wouldn’t approach you so violet did it for him
-she then dragged you over to klaus lying that she needed to go see what sunny was doing
-as you grew closer, he noticed that you fell for a lot of things or jokes or pranks and that you liked hugs a lot
-when he finally asked you out you practically knocked him over with a hug
-he doesn’t mind the clinginess as much as he though he would
-it’s gotten to the point where he just expects you to be hanging off his arm or sat with your thighs touching or draped over his
-he just absentmindedly sacrifices his arm or strokes a hand over what part of your body you have on him

forehead kisses and kisses kisses
request from @bubbly0bookworm !!
pairing: Klaus Baudelaire x F!reader
summary: after escaping count Olaf’s with the Baudelaire's, you guys find yourselves at the home of Dr. Montgomery, when a series of unfortunate events follow you.
warning: described nightmares ( not really described but yk) and just pure fluff !!
A/n : i imagine this to be like a prequel to ‘Thunderstorms and books” so i might write a prequel to this one too that way it makes more sense! and imma be honest this is my first request and when i tell you i am so excited its crazy, i was in the middle of school work and i was like AHHHHHHHH, im not really a romantic person but we will see how this goes ! im sorry if this is bad i had no ideas whatsoever lol
-
Tumblr media
-
“its a brand new episode in your lives, children,” Mr. Poe says with a bright smile on his face, “in a few minutes you will be meeting your new guardian Dr. Montgomery. hes your closest living relative, and apparently should have been your guardian all along, according to your deceased parents’ will.” he says as he continues to drive
“Now Y/N, i have no clue where your parents wanted you but im just gonna send you with the Baudelaire children, if that’s what you want.” he says turning his head a bit to look at you.
“fine with me.” you say shrugging your shoulders. You were sitting in the middle of Violet, Klaus, and Sunny so your shoulders rubbed against them a little, it was a little crowded in the back seat so you wasn't sure if you felt anxious about being so close to Klaus or anxious about meeting Dr. Montgomery.
as Mr. Poe continued to talk, you turn to look at Klaus, “what if Dr. Montgomery don’t like me?” you ask fidgeting with your fingers a little, “i’m sure everything will be fine, Y/N.” he says while grabbing your hand. you two sit there and stare at each other with light smiles on your face’s, until that moment was ruined because a loud cough was heard from Mr. Poe
you and Klaus obviously had feelings for each other, the way he comforted you the whole time you were at count Olaf's, the way he hugged you, it was obvious more then friendship was there. one night you were asleep on the floor at count Olaf’s, and you had a terrible nightmare.
-
a scream escaped your lips as you sat up as quickly as possible. your heart was racing, and tears began to fall you had a nightmare. it was about your parents, they were burning in your house. “Y/N!” your mom screamed. when you woke up you expected your parents to be there. to hold you. but it was real. you were living a nightmare.
“Y/N! What happened?” a voice said as their arms wrapped around you. you couldn't make out who it was until you looked up. it was Klaus. you tried to speak but all you could get out was sobs. “shh its okay.” he said wrapping his arms around you tighter. as your sobs continued you felt a pair of soft lips on your forehead. after you kept your head buried in his chest till you calmed down a bit.
“my parents. it was about my parents” you say looking up at Klaus. “its like i was there, i watched.” you say as the tears just kept falling. you were a stuttering mess, and before you knew it you were staring into Klaus’  eyes and before you knew it he gave you another kiss on the forehead. “its gonna be OK” he says
- time skip to Dr. Montgomery’s house-
“so how exactly is Dr. Montgomery related to you guys?” you ask, “Dr. Montgomery is, let me see, their late father’s cousin’s wife’s brother” Mr. Poe responds
“oh” you say, “what do we call him i mean he’s not exactly our uncle” Violet says. “Well, you can call him Dr. Montgomery, unless of course he asks you to call him by his first name, in which case you'll call him Montgomery.” Mr. Poe says “his name is Montgomery, Montgomery?” you ask, you look down for a seconds as you walk up to the short staircase in front of the house and you see that you and Klaus are still holding hands.
you two turn to look at each other red in the face and immediately pull your hands away from each other. “Yes, yes. And I'm sure he's very sensitive about that, so please don't ridicule him. "Ridicule" means "tease." Mr. Poe says. “we know what ridicule means” Klaus says. a loud cough can be heard from Mr. Poe once again.
“what if Dr. Montgomery is just like count Olaf?” You ask Klaus. “he probably is nothing like count Olaf, i hope” Klaus says but mumbles the last part.
“Hello, Hello, hello, you must be the Violet, Klaus and sunny” Dr. Montgomery says bending down to our height holding 3 slices of cake. “Well, this is perfect timing because I have just finished frosting this delicious coconut cream cake. Take a fork, take a fork, take a fork.“ Dr. Montgomery says.
“Nice to meet you, Dr. Montgomery” Violet says. “Please, call me Monty. I don't like fancy titles unless they get me a discount at the movies. Ah, do you like going to the movies?“ Monty asks, “Very much. But our parents didn't take us very often.“ Violet says. that’s when Monty looks over to you, “and who might you be?” he says
“L/N, Y/N L/N” you say while holding out your hand out for him to shake, “hello Y/N, will you be staying with us as well?” he asks with a smile on his face. “yes.” you say with a smile. “Oh how wonderful!” he says excitedly.
- later that night -
you were just getting settled in your room when a knock was heard, “Y/N, its me” the voice said, you knew immediately it was Klaus, you open the door and say “hey, whats up?” Klaus looks up at you and says “U-um i just wanted to check and make sure everything was alright,” he says while fidgeting with his fingers. “and that you were settled in.” He says
“everything is fine, its very nice here” you say with a smile forming on your face. “good” Klaus says with a smile. the silence after that was very intense, you would almost say crazy intense. “listen, uh, if you have a nightmare again, wake me up OK? i don’t want you to go through that alone.” he says. “i will. thank you Klaus” you say, he walks out and closes the door.
-
you woke up in a cold sweat, screaming, and the visions from your “dream” kept replaying in your head. screams from your parents were heard, fire was everywhere, and it was like you were there. watching. just like last time. you were pulled from your thoughts when the door slammed open,
“Y/N!” Klaus yells as he ran toward you, his arms immediately wrapped around you, “shh its OK,” he says while rubbing your head with his hand, “Another nightmare?” he asks while looking down at you. all you could make out was sobs, you were having a major feeling of deja vu, it took you back to the night Klaus first did this.
“i-it happened again, Klaus, i seen them again.” you sobbed out, “Im so sorry, i wish i could stop it. take all your pain and suffering away” he says, you lean in closer to him and wrap your arms around him. “Im sorry, im bothering you. you should go back to bed” you say pulling away, wiping the rest of your tears away with the sleeve of your nightgown
“I dont want to leave you here alone.” Klaus says while looking into your eyes. you look back at him, and before you knew it you were leaning in, a quick peck was placed on your lips, “Crap, Y/N im so sorry, i didnt mean to-” Klaus started but was interrupted by you placing another peck to his lips, “dont be sorry, its fine. i enjoyed it.” You say with a smile, Klaus gives you a sweet smile back, “i did too.” He says.
“so what does this mean?” you ask. “what do you mean?” Klaus asks, you both look at each other then the realization hits Klaus with a small ‘oh’ , “Well considering the circumstances i would love it if you would be my girlfriend.” Klaus says with a soft smile. “i would love that as well” you say.
- the next day -
“woe is me” the broken hearted crocodile says, “Woe is you? We're the ones whose parents perished in a fire and now we're being passed around like hot potatoes.” Klaus says “Look, Klaus. It can't understand you.” Violet says. you look at the Baudelaire siblings with a look of confusion. “I know that!” Klaus says rolling the mad out in front of him.
then suddenly the doorbell rang.
Monty had just left to take the iguana on a walk and you, Violet, Klaus and Sunny, were alone. and then you guys make your way to the door. you open the door to see
“Hello, I am Stephano Dr. Montgomery Montgomery’s new assistant” count Olaf says.
-
im sorry this is so short, and i didnt include alot of parts cause well copyright, i hope you enjoyed this lmk what you think, and requests are open !!

Hi Gabriella! I am mostly new here, but I have read your fics and they really stole my heart 😊. Could I request a 🎉 for Klaus Baudelaire with the song Can't help falling in love by Elvis Presley?
Nela 💜
Thank you so much Nela! This means so much to me! 💖 Thank you so much for requesting this and I had fun writing it.
A/N: This is my first Klaus fic, so I hope you like it!
Can't Help Falling in Love | K.B.
Tumblr media
It’s been a while since Klaus has been in the city, considering the fact that he had been staying at an isolated island for the past few years.
They had decided to wait until Violet had come of age before returning back to the rest of the world, considering their history would give them a hard time in finding a job and the fact that they had a toddler to sustain.
After a long journey, the four of them finally reached the dock - they had yet to find out what city they’re in but at least they were on land.
Violet picked Beatrice up, not bothering to anchor the boat to the dock as they won’t be needing it anymore.
“I guess we have to stop by the bank first.” Violet mused.
“Yeah,” Klaus agreed, holding on to Sunny’s hand, “Then we can try to look for a place to stay.”
“Or something to eat.” Sunny added.
The Snicket and three Baudelaires waved their way through the traffic, stopping once they had found themselves in front of the building that had the name Sunside Banking glittering under the sunlight.
“I guess this is it.” Violet said, exchanging a look with her brother.
Pushing the glass door, they were hit with the cold air coming from the air conditioner. A nice lady immediately assisted them without question.
Maybe things wouldn’t be so bad after all.
The bell gave a small ding as Klaus pushed open the door, he saw an ad saying that the store needed an extra helper so he decided to take a chance.
Breathing in the familiar scent of books and looking around at the tall shelves, Klaus felt like it was his lucky day - something he hasn’t felt in a long time.
“How can I help you?” A voice suddenly said, pulling his attention towards the counter.
Now he knew what the poets were talking about: how he would feel that the breath had just been knocked out of his lungs, how everything else would fade away and you were the only one his brain could focus on, how he would feel his heart racing faster than the speed of light.
To put it short, it was wonderful. He never felt this way with Isadora Quagmire, his first love, or with Fiona, his first heartbreak. It was like having a crush but make it ten times better.
“Hello?” Your voice brought him out of his trance. “Are you okay?”
He chuckled, running a hand through his hair, “Yeah, I was actually planning on applying for the job opening?”
“What’s got you smiling like that?” Violet asked her brother with an amused smile.
Klaus shrugged, mind still occupied with the thought of you, “Nothing. I already told you - I got the job.”
Violet nodded, putting a blanket over a napping Beatrice, “Yeah, but your smile is telling a different story.”
“He’s in love.” Sunny walks into the room, carrying a tray of freshly baked cookies.
“Aha!” Violet exclaimed as Klaus gave no protest to Sunny’s claim, “Who is she?”
Klaus sighed in defeat, taking a cookie from the tray, “Her name is Y/N and she works at the bookstore I just got a job in.”
“That is literally your dream meet-cute.” Violet teased.
“You didn’t ask her out, didn’t you?” Sunny said.
“Of course I didn’t.” Klaus defended, “I just met her - why would I? She might think that I’m some sort of creep.
It’s been three weeks since Klaus had first met you and things have been going smoothly so far.
Violet had been egging him to tell you how he feels and he already did his research to try and ease his mind. But it’s like no one can agree on the perfect way to ask a girl out.
The two of you were busy shelving the new books that had just arrived that morning.
Truth be told, he didn’t have a hard time making conversation with you, frankly it was the opposite. He loved talking to you, he loved picking your brain at topics that he couldn’t discuss with Violet or Sunny due to their different interests.
“I just thought of a quote.” Klaus suddenly said out of the blue, picking up another stack of books from the box, “I can’t really remember where I read it but it goes ‘Wise men say only fools rush in’-”.
“‘But I can’t help falling in love with you.” You finished, looking over at him with a smile.
“Yeah.” Klaus cleared his throat, ignoring the heat rising up to his cheeks as he returned to the task at hand.
A moment of silence passed between the two of you before you spoke up.
“Was that your way of asking me out?”
“I-I. It was. Probably?” Klaus always seemed so composed, this was the first time you saw him trip over his words.
“It’s okay if you just want to stay friends, I just really wanted to-” He was once again interrupted but this time, by your lips on his.
“Wow.” Klaus breathed out afterwards, making you giggle, “Please tell me I’m not dreaming.”
“Nope. Nope at all.” You answered, fixing his glasses that had been knocked askew.

The Bad Beginning
Tumblr media
To Lillian,
Dearest, Darling, Dead
……………………………………………………………………….
“Orphan!” Count Olaf’s voice rang out in the dark dingy room startling Eleanor awake. She sat up quickly, causing the rickety old bed to screech. “We will being having company today,” he snarled, “don’t worry about your chores.” He slammed the door behind him.
Ellie sat there perplexed. Guests always meant Count Olaf’s theater troop and that always meant more chores. In fact she couldn’t remember the last day she hadn’t done chores. Even though she was happy to have the day off.
……………………………………………………………………….
“I’m from Mulctuary Money Management.” A familiar voice rang out from the entryway. It was Mr. Poe the idiotic banker that had placed Eleanor with Count Olaf in the first place. With him were three children. The oldest, a girl, was holding a baby who couldn’t be much older than one. Next to them stood a boy around Eleanor’s age who made eye contact with her and smiled. Ellie smiled back and blushed.
“Money sounds familiar,” Count Olaf said. Eleanor rolled her eyes. She had long ago figured out that Count Olaf only kept her around because of her mother’s family vineyard whose profits would go to Ellie once she came of age.
Flustered by the awkward situation, Mr. Poe directed his attention to Ellie. “Hello Eleanor! How are you doing?”
“I’m well Mr. Poe, how are you?” She replied knowing that any other answer given in front of Count Olaff would result in an ugly sight later.
Before he had time to answer Count Olaf butted in, “Well do I need to sign for them or something?”
“Of course not,” Mr. Poe looked baffled at such a question.
“Well then as we say in the theater,” Count Olaf growled, “exit stage right.”
Mr Poe said a hurried goodbye to the children, telling them to visit him at the bank should they need anything. Ellie scoffed at that. She had visited Mr. Poe only once and nothing good had come of that other than a lecture from Mr. Poe and much worse from Olaf.
The second the door shut Olaf shifted from the false excitement he had shown for Mr. Poe disappeared. “Well children,” he said, “aren’t you going to say how do you do to you’re new guardian?”
“How do you do?” the oldest girl said nervously.
Count Olaf let out a chilling laugh. ”How do I do? Better and Better Baudelaires.”
After the scary experience with Count Olaf, Eleanor began to give the Baudelaires a tour of the house as well as a brief overview of the chores that went with each room. As the Baudelaires eyes grew wider and wider Ellie began to remember that life with Olaf wasn’t normal.
“How rude we’ve been,” the oldest Baudelaire child said, “We haven’t introduced ourselves, I’m Violet and this is my brother Klaus and this is our little sister Sunny.”
“Nice to meet you,” Ellie smiled, “I’m Eleanor Snicket.” They finally reached the top of the steep, rickety staircase. “This is our room,” Ellie said, her tone slightly apologetic.”
“There is only one bed,” Klaus pointed out. Before Eleanor could respond Count Olaf threw the door open.
“Do you know what this is,” he said dramatically in place of a hello. He was holding up a dirty piece of paper that all four children quickly recognized as a list.
“A list?” Klaus said.
“Wrong! It’s a list. A list of chores. The freak can help you get used to it,” Olaf said, raising his voice. Ellie gave them a sad smile.
………………………………………………………………………
“He’s terrible!” Klaus exclaimed, “did you see the tattoo on his ankle?”
“A tattoo isn’t a sign of a wicked person,” Violet tried to reason, “it’s just a pigment on skin.”
“Not if its on a wicked person,” Eleanor spoke up.
“I never want to see a toothbrush again,” Klaus lamented. Although the chores were tedious Eleanor had to admit that it was easier with company. And what great company the Baudelaire‘s were. Violet and Ellie quickly bonded over being creative people and her and Klaus both shared a passion for reading. Sunny immediately took a liking to her, nibbling on the buttons on her dress.
“Why aren’t you cleaning?” Count Olaf yelled, barging into the room.
“We finished,” Ellie said.
“No you didn’t,” Olaf argued like a small child.
“Yes we did,” Klaus sighed exasperatedly, “we even washed your underwear.
Count Olaf scrambled to grab a pen from his pocket and add an item to their list. “You missed one,” He said. Klaus and Ellie exchanged annoyed looks behind his back. “You still have to prepare a large meal for my theater troupe.”
“We don’t know how to prepare a large meal.” Violet said angrily.
“Plan the meal, purchase the ingredients, prepare the food, set the table, serve dinner, clean up afterwards and stay out of our way,” Olaf listed off.
“How will we purchase anything if we don’t have any money?” Klaus pointed out.
Olaf tossed a bag of coins to Violet. “Do you know what this is?” He said.
“Something greasy,” she said sassily.
“Money,” he said, ignoring her attitude, “Hard-earned money. The most important substance on earth besides applause and lip balm. Since the bossy banker won't let us use any of your parents' enormous fortune, I am now forced to cough up my own earnings from theatrical performances and the occasional bit of consulting work. Now... quick. Get a move on. The troupe will be here at 7:00. And in the meantime, I will be up in... can you guess?
“Your secret tower room,” Klaus said, obvious annoyance in his tone.
“WRONG! My secret tower room. Which you are forbidden to go into. Understood? Forbidden!” He yelled. All of the children nodded. As he stormed out Sunny babbled something that vaugly translated into “That was dismaying.”
“How are we supposed to make dinner for an entire theater troupe,” Klaus said, sounding overwhelmed.
Ellie put a comforting hand on his shoulder.“We can start with recipe,” She said with a smile. Violet came up behind the pair. “Do you think Justice Strauss's library has any cookbooks?”
……………………………………………………………………….
“Baudelaires, Eleanor, I wasn’t expecting to see you.” Justice Strauss said opening the door.
“We were wondering if you have any cookbooks,” Eleanor said.
“My private library is open to you whenever you'd like. It's mostly law books, but there are sections on everything from Italian cuisine to the world's most threatening fungus,” Justice Strauss said entering the library.
After a few hours of searching for a recipe the children settled on pasta puttanesca. Justice Strauss took the children to the local open-air market.
“Thank you for taking us,” Violet said kindly.
“We don’t know what we would have done without you,” Ellie added. Over the terrible years living with Count Olaf she had always made it a point to visit Justice Strauss whenever she could, although it wasn’t a common occurrence.
“Oh, you're resourceful children. I daresay you would have thought of something. I think it's nice that you're cooking dinner for Count Olaf and your new theatrical family. I had dreams of becoming an actress, you know. An actress and a mother, instead of ending up as a world-renowned member of the judiciary and in a series of strained, platonic relationship,” Justice Strauss said staring sadly of the trolley.
For a moment Ellie imagined what her life would have been like if she had gone to live with Justice Strauss instead of Olaf. Living in a loving household with a real parent and loads of books. She imagined what her life would have been like if her house a hadn’t burned down and her mother had lived and her father hadn’t left. Everything that happened felt like a different life, but all that was a strange spyglass and the last name Snicket.
Justice Strauss began to speak again, pulling Ellie out of her daydream, “Baudelaires, Ellie, I always find cooking for family to be something of a mitzvah. Do you know what that means?”
“A commandment,” Klaus guessed.
“A blessing,” Justice Strauss corrected, “You children have all had such sorrow in your lives already, you deserve the blessing of a new family with Count Olaf, and, if you don't mind my saying so... with me.”
As all the children smiled at each other Eleanor spoke up. “We don’t mind you saying so.”
……………………………………………………………………….
As the children entered the house, Eleanor and Klaus holding grocery bags and Violet holding Sunny, the children heard music started up. Ellie sighed, knowing the torture that was about to ensure.
“It’s the Count, It’s the Count, It’s the Count,” Olaf’s theater troupe began to sing. Ellie sighed and tried to tune out the racket. Though she was distraught over her mothers death and the fire that burned down her house and all her belongings the though that she would be placed with an actor and musician seemed to be a gleaming light in the darkness for Ellie. She had always loved music. From the time she was three she would sit on her mothers lap at the piano and pluck out music. As she got older she would experiment with different instruments, playing the violin, the flute, and even the bassoon. She would however always gravitate back to the piano as her instrument of choice. However the hope of being around other musically inclined people quickly fell.
As the musical number finally came to its end, Count Olaf stood in the center of the room, in a dramatic pose. “The Count……” he sang, staging out the last syllable.
“Yes, we’ve met.” Violet said causing Ellie to stifle a giggle.
“Orphans,” Count Olaf declared, “this is my theater troupe.” All the hench people introduced themselves. “And as everybody knows,” he continued, “After a grand entrance, the audience is supposed to applaud.”
“But we aren’t an audience,” Klaus tried to reason.
“No, orphans,” Count Olaf continued, “You are not. But we have been preparing an exciting new production that, on opening night, will change your life. All of the artistic and financial aspects of my career are finally coming together like two pieces of a bread in the middle of a sandwich.”
Sunny babbles something that was unintelligible to Eleanor but Klaus was quick to try and translate.
“What my sister means is that,” He began before Count Olaf cut him off.
“I don't care what she means. I don't have time to learn a second language besides whatever it is I'm speaking right now.” He spat out “In any case... we demand congratulations.”
“Congratulations?” the Baudelaire children offered awkwardly.
“A big round of applause,” Count Olaf prompted the children. The all quickly began clapping, not wanting another fit from the man. “And the delicious meal that you promised myself and my troupe?”
Sunny babbles again, angering Olaf even more. “You know, every time she talks, it's like the tines of a fork are being jammed into my eye...” he said his voice raising with every word.
“What my sister means,” Violet cut in quickly, “is that dinner will be served shortly.”
“What are we supposed to do until then?” Olaf said, still annoyed with the children.
“We could wait patiently?” the henchperson of indeterminate gender suggested.
“How about some wine Olaf?” The bald man spoke over them.
“Yes, wine,” one of the white faced women insisted, “We had that nice rosé last time.”
“It wasn't rosé, it was just watered down,” the other argued. The children glanced at each other awkwardly and hurried to the kitchen.
………………………………………………………………………
The children quickly put themselves to work. Ellie stood next to Klaus whilst pitting the olives. Violet stood at the counter across from them working on the pasta maker.
“I wonder if Count Olaf’s troupe will enjoy the meal?” Klaus wondered out loud.
“Mother always said actors would eat anything,” Violet joked.
“You’ve seen them perform,” Ellie said, “Would you call the actors?”
“They’re all as talented as Count Olaf,” Violet responded.
As the Baudelaire’s converse moved to their parents Ellie began to think of her parents. It had been two years where barely a day passed without thinking about her. Loosing her Dad was hard of course but she had always had her mom. Without her Ellie barely knew who she was.
“Yeah,” Klaus’s voice brought her back to reality, “Better than nothing.”
…….…………………………………………………………………
Count Olaf sat at the dinner table, one hand wrapped around his drink the other resting on his chair. He appeared to me in the middle of a lengthy soliloquy. “At times like these, surrounded by colleagues and cohorts, gathered in fellowship for the purpose of plotting theater, there's an eternal question that always springs to mind... when are we going to eat?”
“Dinner is served,” Eleanor said, with just a hint of her anger in her voice. She carefully approached Count Olaf, placing the noodles on the plates of the theater troupe. Once she got to him she moved to place the noodles on his plate when he yelled, causing her to drop the spoon and the noodles on his plate.
“Where is the roast beef!” he yelled.
“We didn’t make any roast beef,” Ellie said nervously.
“We made puttanesca sauce,” Violet said with more confidence.
“And homemade noodles,” Klaus added.
“No roast beef!” Olaf screamed, sounding like a toddler throwing a temper tantrum. “Look at my guests! They... they can hardly touch this revolting foreign food! In agreeing to adopt you, I became your father. And as your father, I am not someone to be trifled with!”
The theater troupe began to interject, all complaining about dinner while still slurping it down.
“I demand you serve roast beef to myself and my guests.” He continued yelling.
“We don’t have any,” Violet spat back, “We made pasta puttanesca.”
Sunny babbles something that Ellie was able to translate into that night’s desert. Olaf grabbed Sunny and held her high above the table. Klaus, Violet, and Eleanor held their hands out trying to catch her. “This table is a mess,” Count Olaf said, “There’s hardly a place to put a baby.” He placed her on a tray near the middle of the table.
“Sunny!” Violet cried out.
“We are leaving for rehearsals,” Count Olaf announced.
“But the baby said there was chocolate pudding,” the hook-handed man said. All four children looked at him in surprise that he had understood Sunny.
“You children are to clean the table, and wash the dishes, and polish the silver, and rinse out all the wine bottles for recycling. And then you are to go straight to your beds,” Olaf continued.
“You mean our bed,” Klaus reminded him, “You only provided us with one bed.”
“If you want another bed, tomorrow you may go into town and purchase one.” Olaf said as if explaining something very simple.
“You know perfectly well we haven’t any money,” Klaus argued more.
“Of course you do,” Olaf said, “You three lucky orphans are inheriting an enormous fortune.”
“The money our parents left behind is not to be used until Violet-,” before Klaus could finish Count Olaf slapped him to the ground.
“The theater awaits,” he said, making his exit.
Ellie raced over to Klaus with Violet on her heels. “Are you alright?” She asked.
“No,” he responded, “This isn’t.”
“What?” Violet questioned.
“Better than nothing.”

Hey could I request a klaus x reader where the reader is around his age and works for VFD (as a singer for her cover but is actually someone who charms people for information yk) but is like super lonely because all their attention isnt really/longterm but klaus and the reader fall in love anyway ( also if you could add him confessing at like a masquerade ball but the reader almost gets killed by count olaf kinda like the lemony and Beatrice flashback ) sorry for the long and specific request
The Siren and The Bookworm (Klaus Baudelaire X Reader)
Masterlist
Request Something!
Summary: As a siren, all the attention you received was fake or short lived. But your new partner proves to be an outlier.
A/N: Klaus and reader have been working for the VFD for a few years, so they’re in their early twenties. Count Olaf didn’t die at the end of the series. Klaus confesses after the ball instead of during it. Also based off of the ball scene from Cruella. One more also, this is my last ASOUE fic!!! So I hope you enjoy
***
It felt simple, almost fun working for the VFD. Given your unique ability, you did much of your work and investigation at parties. You were a singer, but you had a certain charisma that made you able to get anyone to tell you anything. You loved it; the attention, the trust.
But it never lasted. It was always temporary. When you were done getting the information you needed, you’d move on, and the person you had talked to would forget all about you and your conversations. But at least you always had the stage to return to, your one constant.
Although it felt easy, VFD work was sometimes dangerous. So, after a few minor incidents of being followed or getting found out, the VFD assigned you a partner to accompany you on missions and such. His name was Klaus Baudelaire, the son of the late VFD alumni Bertrand and Beatrice Baudelaire. A lot of the time, when you were undercover, he acted as your bodyguard. This amused you because he was better at reading about defensive strategy than practicing it. But it was still nice to have his company.
You were first assigned to each other a few months ago. It was strange to form an actual relationship with someone. But after some time, you two became best friends despite your differences. The characters you portrayed accurately depicted your true selves in a way. You were known as The Siren, where being charming and open was just as important as your voice when you were put in front of the microphone. And when Klaus joined the VFD, he was lovingly nicknamed The Bookworm, for his mind was like an endless library that constantly desired to be filled.
You knew you shouldn’t get close. Eventually, he’d be like everyone else, a distant memory. But knowing that didn’t stop you from falling.
You were getting ready in your hotel room when Klaus came in. He was practically itching to leave, because this mission was especially important to him. The VFD had heard whispers of someone who was finally seen after years of hiding. And after years of attempts, he was seen in the limelight. Klaus knew this man all too well, and because of his stories, it felt like you knew him just as personally.
Count Olaf was now known as a talented and famous theater actor, instead of a murderer, kidnapper, and child endangerer. You don’t know how he did it. From Klaus’ stories, Count Olaf seemed to completely lack any sort of talent beyond fooling foolish adults with disguises. You and Klaus couldn’t understand why people were so favorable to him now, but you guessed that it had something to do with the fame and people having their opinion of someone so easily swayed.
The VFD wanted Count Olaf put away once and for all, which was why you were getting ready to go to a press event in his honor and why Klaus was practically about to push you out of your chair and into the car.
“Y/n, please hurry. The car’s here.” You couldn’t blame Klaus for his excitement. He had been wanting revenge on Count Olaf since he was first placed in his care. And although Klaus wasn’t a violent person, he was itching for justice to be served in any sense possible.
“I’m almost done, Klaus, I promise.” You sighed, applying a final touch of lipstick before standing from your chair. As you moved, you felt your dress was looser than it should’ve been and realized it wasn’t zipped. “Klaus, can you zip me up?”
“Uh, yeah.” If you were paying closer attention, you would’ve seen that he had a harsh blush on his cheeks and was about to choke on his spit when he answered you. But you were too focused on the tasks ahead of you. He zipped your dress up, being gentle in a way like he was almost scared to touch you. But you didn’t comment on it. “Ready?” You turned to see an outstretched hand. You took it, and the two of you made your way down to the car provided by the VFD.
“You remember the plan?” You asked as the driver took you to your destination. You fiddled with the ring on your pinky as you thought about it. This was probably the most risky mission you had participated in in all your years working for the VFD.
“Yes.” Of course, Klaus remembered the plan; he remembered everything. “And you’ll be okay.” He grabbed your hand and squeezed it tightly to emphasize what he had said. It wasn’t a question; it was a statement. A fact. Even though what’s supposed to happen hasn’t happened yet, Klaus believed that everything would work out perfectly. Despite the series of unfortunate events that he had to endure in his child, he was such an optimist at times.
“I’ll be okay.” You repeated after him. If you said it enough times, it was sure to be true.
Count Olaf resided in a mansion on a cliff. The drive to the estate was long, and the view was incredible from any part of the property you stood on. Clearly, he was doing well for himself.
When the driver stopped in front of the mansion, littered with guests coming in and hanging around the entrance, Klaus stepped out first before reaching for your hand to help you out of the car. Immediately there were murmurs and gasps as the lights touched your face. It was funny how your undercover persona was more known than the person you actually were. It seemed very counterintuitive. Count Olaf’s doorman greeted you and Klaus when you reached the doors.
“Ms. Hent, it’s such an honor. The Count will be most pleased by your arrival.” He smiled at you and then glanced at your partner. “And this is?”
“This is my bodyguard, and plus one. I don’t go anywhere without him.” You grinned, signaling for Klaus to introduce himself.
“Hembro Kotow, how do you do?” It was Klaus’ idea to use anagrams to form your identities. And it was your idea to use your nicknames for each other to turn into anagrams because if someone could unscramble your fake names, they still wouldn’t know your real ones. So you, The Siren, were also Ires Hent. And Klaus the Bookworm was Hembro Kotow. Klaus felt somewhat ashamed about the idea because he had gotten it from Count Olaf and his antics from when he’d chase him and his siblings around for their fortune. He hated that he had learned something actually useful from the crazed lunatic.
Before you knew it, you were on the stage in the main room, because of course Count Olaf would have a stage in his house. As you sang, you scanned the crowd to find your host. Everyone was masked because Count Olaf seemed to love secret identities. You and Klaus didn’t participate in the masquerade part of the ball, because the vital part of your undercover work was to be seen.
After a few songs, you found him chatting it up with a guest by the doors that lead to the back courtyard. As you sang the final note, the crowd turned their attention to you and started to applaud, Count Olaf being one of them. He smirked, and although you were disgusted, this was part of the plan. You nodded to Klaus, and he accompanied you on your journey through the sea of people.
“I’ll give you five minutes with him before I send everyone out,” Klaus whispered, hand pressed to the small of your back to guide you. “And I’m being very gracious by giving you that much time.”
“Five minutes is all I need.” You whispered back. “And stop worrying; I’ll be okay.”
“You’ll be okay.” He repeated softly.
“Count Olaf, it’s such a pleasure to finally meet you.” You gave a sweet smile to the man when you finally reached him. He immediately brushed off whoever he previously talked to and focused on you. He grabbed your hand, and you pretended to be delighted when he kissed the back of it.
“Believe me, Ires Hent, the pleasure is all mine.”
“This is such a beautiful home. Absolutely magnificent.”
“Perhaps you’d like to see more of it?”
“I’d love to.” You linked your arm with his and gave Klaus a nod that said, ‘I’ll be right back, don’t follow me,’ and although this was all part of the plan, he wished he didn’t have to leave you alone with Count Olaf. “Could we see the ocean first?”
“Of course.” Count Olaf led you out of the mansion, and the two of you walked through the courtyard to get to the edge of the cliff that was fenced off by cobblestone structures. “Who was that man you’re with? He seemed familiar.”
You tried not to panic. After all, Count Olaf hadn’t seen Klaus in years, and he had grown up and matured a lot since their last meeting. Or at least you hoped.
“Oh, just my bodyguard, Hembro. He came from Canada a few months ago.”
“So why isn’t he here now, guarding you?”
“I don’t necessarily think you’re someone I should be guarded from.” There was a flirtatious tone in your voice, even though you wished nothing more than to be away from this man. Count Olaf smirked, and soon, you two were looking out at the sea. “This view is absolutely marvelous.”
“It really is.” Count Olaf sighed, glancing at you. You caught it and had to play along.
“Very handsome.” You said, turning to lean against the fencing while facing him. You played with the lapel of his suit jacket, wishing it was someone else’s. It was bad enough that he was so much older than you, but the fact that you knew of all the things he had done, especially towards someone you care so deeply about? It made you sick to your stomach. You hated having to act so pleasantly toward a monster. But it would all be over soon. He gripped your hips to pull you closer. “You wanna know a secret?”
“Oh, how I love secrets.” You leaned forward to put your mouth to his ear. In the distance, you saw Klaus talking to different groups of people inside, gesturing to the courtyard. Slowly but surely, they started gathering outside.
“Well, this is a good one.” You took a deep breath, preparing yourself for the inevitable. “The VFD found you, and they’re ready to put you away for everything that everyone else had forgotten about.”
“What?” He hissed, squeezing you tighter. You tried not to grimace from the slight pain. You had to stay strong and confident. “Who the hell are you, and what do you know about the VFD?” You decided to not answer that question.
“I guess it was a mistake to chase the spotlight, Count Olaf. Now the only light you’ll be seeing is from a jail cell.” He turned you around quickly, pushing your body against the stone barrier.
“I don’t think so, Darling.” He said with a sick grin. You gulped. “I think it’s time for you to see what you wanted to see.”
“Which is?” You asked, trying to wiggle your way out of his grip.
“The ocean.” His grip was soon off your body, and you were free-falling off the side of the cliff. The last thing you heard was gasps of horror before your plummet took you too far down to see or hear anything else.
Count Olaf turned around, shocked for once that he had an audience. His guests looked at their host in horror, murmuring about how they just watched the Count push the famous Siren off his cliff.
“What?” He glanced back, realizing what they had seen. “She jumped. Everyone, I know how distressing this must seem. But Ms. Hent was deranged, threatening to take me with her.” He was putting on the performance of a lifetime, but it wasn’t to convince the audience this time. “She jumped.”
But they didn’t believe him. Soon, the police (who were secretly VFD agents) came and arrested Count Olaf for the murder of Ires Hent. He screamed as he was being dragged off, talking about how it wasn’t what it looked like and how he was innocent.
Klaus sighed as he walked to the car that had returned to pick him up. He prayed you were okay, even though he knew you were. After all, this was all part of the plan.
Knowing the layout of Count Olaf’s party and his murderous tendencies, the VFD had fashioned you a gown that was both expensive looking and practical for getting thrown at sea to your death in. The skirt’s volume hid the fact that it could also be used as a parachute. You were able to guide yourself into the water, close enough to the shore that you wouldn’t risk getting pulled back into the sea. You insisted to the VFD (more Klaus than anyone else) that you could make your way back to the hotel on your own, and to not send a car for you to avoid the risk of drawing attention. Using VFD tunnels beneath the city, you secretly made it to the hotel. When you opened the door to your room, you were squeezed and lifted in the air.
“Oh, thank God.” Klaus sighed, keeping you close to him as he rested his head against yours. “I knew you’d be okay, but then the minutes kept passing, and I kept thinking the worst.”
“I’m okay.” You combed your fingers through his hair which seemed to help calm him. You pulled him away from nuzzling further into you to press your forehead to his. “We’re both okay.”
“We’re okay.” He repeated, still refusing to let you go. He needed the comfort of knowing you were still alive, and you’d be a fool to deny both him and yourself that. He put a hand on the side of your face, stroking your cheekbone with his thumb. He pulled away just enough to look at you. It was like he wanted to say something, ask you something. But he didn’t know how.
Even though he was the Bookworm, you knew how to read him. “Please.” The simple word drove him forward, pressing his lips to yours and pulling you as close to his body as physically possible. The kiss had so many unsaid words: ‘Thank God you didn’t die,’ ‘I’ve been in love with you for quite some time,’ ‘Never do something so crazy and risky like that again because I can’t lose you.’ Yet none of the words had to be said. Deep down, you had both known for a while. It just needed almost dying to confirm it all.

Jealousy
summary: you and the other Baudelaire siblings are on the Queequeg, and seeing Fiona all touchy feely with Klaus makes your blood boil. So, you write your feelings out, but you didn't know that he would read them.
a/n: hi! Was rewatching asoue and the ideas just exploded. Side note, normally you, the reader, at least in this one-shot, are very clingy to Klaus, always hugging him and holding his hand. Anyway, read!
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
You sat on a chair, staring at Klaus and that girl that is currently too close to him. You wanted to push her away so badly, to hold Klaus and drag him away, but you weren't his girlfriend, and you probably never would be with the way he's falling for literally every girl who's not you, starting with Isadora and now Fiona. Getting up, you walked to the chambers that Fiona gave you to sleep and found your journal, right on top of your bed.
Before Uncle Monty's horrible death, you and him got pretty close and you told him about your love for writing, so he gave you one of his empty journals and told you to write every once in a while and come show him. You never got to show him a single one.
Picking up the pen that you always put on the notebook, you started to write angrily, your hand moving so fast the ink becam sligthly smudged.
Why is Klaus touching her so much, being touched by her so much? I should be the one clinging to him, okaying and helping him with his ideas, touching his arm, smiling at him, kissing him. The idea of Fiona and him makes me sick. Why should she and her stupid submarine come and steal Klaus away? But, if he really likes her, I'll go along, I'll smile when they say they're dating, giggle at every time she makes him flustered, and I'll cry at there wedding, although the tears will not be ones of joy. When they have their first kid, I'll hold them happily, smiling at how they have his eyes, his beautiful, shining, kind, intelligent eyes that I could lose myself in, and I have. And I'll cry myself to sleep every night, alone because I can't imagine myself with anyone else but him.
You finished writing, pen ink slightly staining your palms and fingertips. Reading over what you just wrote, a sense of dread and disgust filled you. How could you write this about another person? Without another thought, you ripped the page out, crumpling it and throwing it somewhere it would not be seen for hopefully a long time.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Frowning, you were lost in your own mind, drowning in your thoughts as Violet talked about something to do with the machinery. "...what do you think, Y/N?" You look up, confused. "O-oh, yeah, sure!" She looked at you with a stange look. "I just asked you if you'd eat glue with apples? What's wrong Y/N?" Sighing, you sat up straight. "Nothing, just... do you think that Klaus likes Fiona?"
You saw the gears turning in her head before she smiled, and you immediatley regreted your question as she started speaking. "You like Klaus!" The way you looked away from her said everything she needed to know. "Y/N, you should tell him!" "Do you see the way he smiles around her? I don't stand a chance!" You frowned, thinking about Klaus and Fiona. Violet smiled kindly, taking your hands in hers. "I'm gonna be honest with you, my brother is not always the brightest when it comes to love. I think he'll accept you."
"Accept you for what?" You looked up quickly, and saw Klaus holding a book and a... crumpled piece of paper? Thankfully, Fiona wasn't around him for once. "Y/N has something she wants so ask you." You gave Violet a glare, but she just smirked and waited for you to speak. "I u-um, wanted to ask you... where Sunny is! Yeah, I n-need to see Sunny..." Klaus gave you a funny look, a look in his eyes that you couldn't quite decipher, and said, "She's just in the kitchen, helping out." Getting up quickly, you gave Klaus a kiss on the cheek as a thank you, and walked to the kitchen, still pondering what Violet said. You always gave him a hug or kiss on the cheek, but that one was different. You tried to convey all your feelings in it, even though he wouldn't be able to tell.
Taste testing Sunny's food will make you feel better.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
A whole bunch of stuff had happened in a suprisingly short amount of time, and long story short, you were about to escape Count Olaf for the umptenth time in the Queequeg with Sunny, Klaus and Violet, and Fiona was leaving to follow her brother, which was the hook-handed man who was an associate of Count Olaf. All the information was making your head spin, but you didn't need to focus on that right now.
Klaus was trying to convice Fiona to stay, and you honestly were not as happy as you thought she would be at her leave. As he grabbed her arm, she leaned in for a kiss, which you could see from a mile away, but what you weren't expecting, was for Klaus to turn his face, so it was only a kiss on the cheek. Fiona left, Klaus having a solemn look on his face.
As Violet powered on the submarine and you were putting down Sunny, Klaus took your arm and dragged you to an empty room. You looked up at him in confusion, gasping softly as he pushed you down on a chair in the room, and as you stared at his face, you still couldn't tell what he was feeling.
He took out a piece of paper, it slightly crumpled, but you could still see the writing, and as you squinted slightly, you realized it was yours. Oh crap.
"Y/N, do you know what this is?" He said, holding it in front of you. "A-a piece of paper?" You muttered soflty, not wanting to actually say what it was, even though you knew exactly what it was, and who wrote it. "Don't play dumb with me Y/N." Under his glare, your head fell down as you looked at a "very" interesting stain on the floor. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean for anyone to see it, especially not you... I just wrote it while I was angry, it doesn't mean anything!" You rushed to explain yourself, still scared to look him in the eye.
You felt a hand on your shoulder, and you worked up the courage to look up at him. He was... smiling? Suddenly, laughter bubbled out of his chest, and he was giggling. Ok, what the hell?
"D-do you seriously think I would ditch you for a lady I just met?" He chuckled. "...maybe." He pulled you up into a hug. "Y/N, I have known you for almost my whole life. I could never. ...and I might have a slight crush on you as well." You grinned, blushing. Maybe your feelings weren't one-sided after all.
