"Hi there Klee!" Y/n greeted cheerfully, as the young girl bounded out of solitary confinement.
"Hello, Y/n!" Klee waved, hoisting her backpack up on her shoulders higher.
"So, how was this week's confinement?" Y/n asked.
"It was good!" Klee chirped. "After I blasted all the fish in Starfell Lake, Jean put me in solitary confinement. But the good thing is that Uncle Kaeya brought me some Fish Flavored Toast!"
Y/n nodded and was about to make a remark about Kaeya's cooking, when a chalky boy approached the both of them.
"Hi Albedo!" Y/n greeted, even though she didn't know him very well. She'd seen him around the Knights of Favonius HQ before, and they'd interacted a little, but not a lot, so she didn't know much about him. All she knew was that he was the Captain of the Investigation Team and the Chief Alchemist who did most of his work in Dragonspine. She knew that he was like Klee's older brother though. She should know, Klee saw her as her older sister.
"Ah, Klee, hello there. Hello, Y/n." Albedo nodded to each of the girls respectively. "And... Jean. Hello there."
Y/n turned to see the Acting Grand Master approach the three with a smile. "Y/n! Albedo! Do you mind if I ask you both for a favor?"
"No, not at all," Albedo replied.
"Sure, I got nothing to do right now, why not?"
"Bye bye!" Klee waved, before bounding off to who knows where.
"Great! If you'd just follow me into my office then." Jean lead the way to her office. As soon as Albedo and Y/n stepped into the room, she closed the door behind her, which Y/n thought was kind of sus, but she made no comment.
Jean walked over to her desk and pulled out a few papers from her drawer. Albedo and Y/n stood across from her, Y/n observing the various trinkets around the room with the blonde haired boy watching her intently.
Y/n soon caught wind of Albedo's staring, and looked up to meet his eyes. "What?"
"So, you two," Jean started, looking at the Chief Alchemist and Clover Knight. "I assume you've heard about Klee's latest antics?"
"You... mean how she cooked the fish in Starfell Lake with her bombs?" Y/n asked, caught off guard. Why would the Acting Grand Master ask her and Albedo about that?
"I've heard of that as well," Albedo agreed, nodding.
Jean sighed, shaking her head. "Not only that, but she also blew up the barrels near the houses in Springvale. The fire got so bad that it reached the other houses, so now the knights have to pay for expenses to get the damage repaired. Not to mention all the fowl and meat that was destroyed."
Jean handed Albedo and Y/n a paper with the expenses for them to share and read.
"Seven thousand Mora?!" Y/n exclaimed in surprise, making Albedo's eyes widen.
Jean nodded solemnly, as Y/n handed the paper back to her. "It has been going on for a while now."
"So the reason I've called you here, is that I need you both to supervise Klee," she informed. "I'll be gone for about a day, speaking to Springvale's residents and checking in with the knights assigned missions nearby as well."
"Sure!" Y/n agreed, before questioning Albedo. "That alright with you?"
He nodded. "I'm still waiting on some test results from Sucrose and Timaeus, so I'm not very busy today."
"Great! Thank you both!" Jean thanked cheerfully, before heading out the door. "I will see you both later this evening."
"Bye, Jean!" Y/n waved, as Albedo looked at her questioningly.
"C'mon, Albedo! Let's go see where Klee is!" she grabbed his hand and dragged him out of Jean's office and into the corridor.
Within five seconds of being in the corridor, Albedo pointed at the door and said, "She went outside."
Y/n gave him a shocked look. "How do you know that?"
The chalk prince cleared his throat, "Well, after being released from solitary confinement, there is a 6.5 out of 7 chance that Klee will go to Stormbearer Mountains to check on her various 'treasures'."
"Makes sense! Let's head out!"
~ At Stormbearer Mountains ~
"I swear, if we meet a fucking Dendro slime out here," Y/n gritted her teeth, watching the ground intently and being cautious about where she stepped.
Albedo hummed curiously, tilting his head to one side as he walked alongside the girl. "Is it because you have a Dendro vision?"
Y/n nodded, then held her palm out for Albedo to see. She concentrated for a bit, and then a four leaf clover sprouted from her hand, and she plucked it out to show the alchemist.
"Fascinating..." Albedo observed the plant with a hand on his chin, deep in thought. "May I?"
"Sure!" Y/n handed him the clover, which Albedo took with a grateful nod.
"So... this clover," he started, making Y/n hum in response. "How exactly does this help you in battle?"
"Wha- What do you mean?" Y/n defended, a smug smile growing on Albedo's face.
"You are the Clover Knight, after all," he said in amusement. "So do you just throw clovers at your enemies, or..."
"H-hey!" the girl sputtered. "I'm just called the Clover Knight because before I became a knight I grew and sold flowers with my sister, okay! And my specialty was clovers..."
"And?" Albedo urged her to continue.
"And... when I became a knight, Kaeya nicknamed me the Clover Knight, so that's who I am now."
"Interesting... But I asked for your abilities, not your life story."
Y/n snickered. "Have you always been this savage?"
"No, I don't recall ever being a whopperflower, but if I do remember, then I'll be sure to let you know."
Y/n and Albedo both chuckled, before they heard a high pitched voice exclaim, "BOOM BOOM BAKUDAN!!" and a huge explosion follow.
They exchanged a panicked glance and rushed over to the direction where they heard Klee's voice.
They hurried over to the location and were certain Klee had been there. After all, most of the grass was on fire, and the rest was charred. There was a path of charred grass which made the two knights feel certain that Klee was at the end of the trail.
"It's at times like these that I wish I had a Hydro vision," Y/n said, walking through the trail on her tippy toes to try and avoid the fire as best as she could.
Albedo thought for a moment, before asking Y/n, "Could you make another clover? But bigger this time?"
"That's random, but okay." Y/n created a clover that was the width of her wingspan and almost taller than her.
When she was done that, Albedo created a small Geo flower and set it on the ground. "Now stand on it," he instructed.
"Um... okay." Y/n passed the giant clover to the alchemist, who set it down on the charred grass.
She walked onto the flower, and it slowly rose up, like elevator, as Y/n wobbled. "Woah there, buddy! Am I ascending to Celestia?"
Albedo smiled softly, and stood behind the clover.
"Moment of birth!"
Albedo unleased a giant Geo flower created by his alchemic knowledge and vision.
"Here, have a shield," Albedo gestured to the various shields created through the crystallize reaction.
"You're so smart, holy shit," Y/n remarked, before hopping off of the flower and using a shield. "Thanks!"
"Don't mention it," he assured. "Now let's find Klee. I hope she hasn't gotten into any serious trouble..."
~ After a few minutes of following the trail ~
Y/n looked at her surroundings in confusion. "But... we're back at Starfell Lake... And there's the Statue of Seven!"
Albedo nodded, and pointed to a little girl clad in red, jumping up and down at the water's edge. "And there's-"
A demonic giggle interrupted Albedo. "Luckily all my new bombs are waterproof."
"Klee, it isn't right to commit arson just because you feel like it, okay?" Y/n explained to the girl with Albedo walking beside her, who nodded. They were heading back to Monstadt, and were on the bridge.
"So... no more fish blasting?"
"No more fish blasting," Albedo and Y/n confirmed in unison.
"No more killing hilichurls?"
"Unless you're in danger, no."
"Aww... okay... Klee understands."
Albedo and Y/n exchanged looks due to Klee's sad expression. As they approached the City of Freedom, they passed Timmy.
"Hey! You scared my birds away!"
They all ignored him.
As the three Knights of Favonius members went deeper into the city, Klee asked Y/n and Albedo, "So where do we go now?"
"The flower shop!"
Y/n and Albedo stared at each other, before exclaiming.
"The flower shop."
They both paused.
"Let's go to the flower shop," Albedo agreed.
"Okay! Then we'll go to your lab next!" Y/n said, making Albedo nod.
"Yay! Flower shop!" Klee cheered.
Y/n laughed, and lead the way to Flora's.
"Hey, sis!" Y/n greeted Flora, who looked up from tending to the cecilias.
"Oh, hey Y/n! And hi Albedo! Hi Klee!"
Albedo waved in greeting, while Klee jumped up and down enthusiastically.
Flora giggled. "So what can I get you all?"
"Ooh! One flower please!" Klee held up a finger.
"Which type of flower would you like?"
Klee put a finger to her mouth, thinking, before bursting out with, "A clover! To match what Klee has on her hat and dress!"
Flora laughed, before looking at Y/n. "Honestly, those are sis's specialty, not mine. Y/n, would you like to do the honors?"
Y/n nodded. "Sure!" She bent down at Klee's height and used her vision to create a red four leafed clover before pinning it to Klee's dress.
"Wow! Thank you!" Klee jumped up to hug Y/n, who reciprocated and threw her in the air, then caught her.
Albedo watched the exchange fondly. Flora glanced between Y/n and Albedo and made a silent 'Ohhh,' sound with her mouth.
"Off to the lab we go!" Klee announced, pointing a finger to the Favonius HQ with Y/n still holding her.
The trio said their goodbyes to Flora and, after going up the stairs, made their way into the building.
A few moments after they stepped inside the building, Klee spotted a fly.
"A fly!" she gasped. She wiggled in Y/n's hold, as a signal that she wanted to be put down. Y/n set her down, and she and Albedo watched Klee intently, trying to make sure she didn't pull out a bomb right then and there and wreck the main hall.
Well, she didn't do that.
But she did follow the fly into Jean's open office.
"Shit!" Y/n and Albedo rushed into the office after her.
They saw the fly hopping around on Jean's documents, while Klee held a bomb right on top of the desk.
"Klee," Y/n and Albedo coaxed in unison. "Think about what you're doi-"
The shock of the explosion caused Y/n to move backwards, her back hitting the door and shutting it.
"Oh, no... Klee..." Albedo muttered, looking at the ash-covered desk.
"Hm? What was that?" a voice came from outside.
"Oh no!" Klee exclaimed.
"Klee? Is that you? Why are you in my office? And why is my door closed?" Jean knocked on the door.
"She isn't supposed to be here yet! We should still have a few hours!" Y/n whisper-yelled to Albedo.
"Uhm... we-I um..." Klee looked at Y/n and Albedo nervously, then stared at the ash in her hands. She quickly dumped it on Jean's desk.
"I got this," Y/n whispered to Albedo, who looked unassured.
"What's going on?" Jean's voice came from outside the door.
"Oh... nothing!" Y/n said, sprinting to the door with her back against it.
"Y/n! What are you doing in there?"
"D-drugs," she stuttered.
"Let me in!"
"Rock, paper, scissors. Whoever wins has to talk to Jean," Albedo proposed, approaching her with his fist in his open palm.
"That's out of character for you, Albedo!"
The alchemist shrugged, before pointing to the burnt documents on Jean's desk. "I'm not gonna be the one to inform Jean regarding the loss of her valuable documents."
"Deal," Y/n agreed.
"Rock, paper, scissors, shoot!" the two exclaimed in unison, the sound of their chant being drowned by Jean's banging on the door.
"How do you always win?!" Y/n groaned at Albedo's scissors.
"You always pick paper."
"That isn't true! Here, go again," Y/n insisted, starting up another round.
Albedo's paper beats Y/n's rock.
"One more time."
Scissors cuts paper.
"One more time."
Rock smashes scissors.
"One more time."
Paper over rock.
"One more time."
Klee sighed, playing with her Dodoco keychain.
Rock obliterates scissors.
"Barbatos- this reverse psychology is a bust!" Y/n hissed, running a hand through her hair.
"I told you," Albedo looked over at her blankly.
"Open this door!"
"What do we do?!" Y/n panicked, before an idea came to her. "I got it!"
She created a bunch of clovers using her catalyst, and placed them in front of the door. She stepped away from it, and the clovers kept the door from being opened.
"How are you doing that?" Albedo asked in shock, as Klee looked at the clovers in wonder.
"I'm using my clover to save our asses! Now c'mon, it'll disappear in thirty seconds! Let's go!"
Y/n opened the window to allow Albedo to pass through. Then she passed Klee down to Albedo and got down herself. As she climbed out, the blonde boy offered her a hand for assistance.
Just as Y/n got down, the clover bundle exploded in a burst of bright light, which allowed Jean to enter her office. As she did so, the three knights ducked down under the windowsill, so that Jean wouldn't be able to see them unless she looked under her windowsill. Y/n heard the footsteps of Jean approaching her desk.
'We're dead, we're dead, we're dead, we're dead...' Y/n recited to herself in her head.
"Master Jean!" Amber entered the Acting Grand Master's office. "There's some commotion at the front of HQ. Timmy wants to file a complaint on the ignorance of pigeon rights, and he isn't making it easy."
"Oh? Timmy? I think he's that boy who spends most of his time on the bridge?" Abedo, Y/n, and Klee simultaneously sighed in relief at Jean's receding footsteps sounding fainter and fainter.
"Let's pretend that didn't happen and go to the lab," Y/n suggested.
~ A Few Hours Later ~
"Y/n? Albedo?" Jean walked into the alchemy laboratory. Just as soon as she stepped into the lab, an explosion shook the room. The blonde ran to where the rumbling had come from, and saw Y/n chasing Klee around the counter with Albedo frantically trying to clean the broken glass from the test tubes.
"Klee, give those vials back! They're dangerous!"
"That's what makes them fun to play with!"
"I'd appreciate it if you avoided the glass, it can injure you!"
Jean sighed, heading back to her office with a smile. "I wonder what they were doing in my office... Never mind that. At least my important documents are safe. I should trust them more ofte- what in the name of Barbatos?!"
I hope this was good for my first Genshin oneshot!
It had to be Albedo because he's my favorite character (so far, because, I mean there are a lot of good characters to come so-)
There wasn't much romance here, but if you squint, you may be able to see it 👀
I'll probably write a part 2 to this as well!
