hey!! i was wondering if there is going to be an update to the super freak series? i just went through and re-read 🥰🥰 their chemistry is so amazing!!!!
I am my love indeed I am getting back to writing this scrungly metal head and his (smutty) adventures with Pencils. Now I’ve got my very demanding and utterly ridiculous Det Slut out the way. I can focus on my favourite knight in shining Dio vest and his very cool arty gf. Stay tuned- (also thank youuuu I love these two losers and their burgeoning love so much I adore how everyone’s taken to them!)
Tldr; I’m not done with my Eddie nonsense yet- next chap we got DRAMA: repeat BIG STUPID LINDA AND HER LOUD PLASTIC JEWELLERY DRAMA

Somebody to Love | Steddie (6/?)
Chapter Six: The Paladin of The Party
Word: 1302
A/N: Shorter chapter than last one. Chapter five didn't feel right to split into two, so this looks small in comparison. I love how a lot of Steddie fics have that one scene where it's basically two parents having their moment ruined by their son who's demanding ice cream.
Summary: After spending the night over at Eddie's the two of them grow closer, but they don't know what to call what they had. Whatever it was, Dustin was just glad that they're getting along, though Max seemed to think that there's something more.
[Somebody to Love Masterlist]
-
Eddie was smiling to himself as he walked with the remaining members of Hellfire Club debating with each other. The hallways cleared out quickly as the students readied for the weekend. Some were lingering, their eyes landing on the small group before snapping away.
They didn’t really know what to think of the events of spring break. Head cheerleader found dead in local drug dealer’s trailer, the main suspect missing, and two murders and one attempted murder followed after.
Even the feds got involved. According to their story, there was a Creel copycat killer that escaped from Pennhurst and the trailer park was the first hunting ground. Eddie and Chrissy was just at the wrong place at the wrong time with Chrissy being murdered while Eddie managed to escape and help identify who did it.
Majority of the basketball team had been in custody after that vigilante rampage they had pulled with the mob and going after Eddie. A few weren’t completely off the hook, with some saying that they followed because of peer pressure. Those who were released early kept to themselves at school after that.
Jim Hopper, who was thought dead, got reinstated as Chief of Police and held a meeting at the town hall where he maintained his bullshit intolerance attitude that everyone missed and also feared. With how strange things have been in Hawkins for the past three years, as long as they can go on with their lives, they decided not to dwell on it too much, even if the former murder suspect was suddenly hailed as one of the young heroes in the news.
Stepping out into the parking lot, Eddie immediately spotted Steve leaning against his BMW with his shades on. Steve flashed him a smile, righting himself up as they drew closer. How was any of that fair, for him to just stand there with the sun illuminating him just right, a light layer of sweat glistening on his skin, his hair styled with one stubborn strand hanging over his forehead? Not to mention, he was wearing a plain white polo under the Dio denim vest he gave him, his hands tucked in the pockets of his tight jeans like he was posing for a magazine cover photo. He was driving Eddie absolutely crazy.
“Eddie,” Dustin called out again, shoving his shoulder with annoyance. “Dude, you’re acting weird.”
“You're weird,” Eddie countered lamely.
“I call shotgun!” Lucas shouted, rushing to the passenger side.
“No! Everyone knows that’s my spot!”
Dustin scrambled to get to the door first, his stubbornness against Lucas’s physique. It didn’t work, leading Dustin to look at Steve with an incredulous look. Max huffed in annoyance, looking at Lucas until he gave up the seat for her. He did so without resistance, shoving Dustin into the backseat with Mike.
“Shouldn’t you be sorting that out, momma Steve?” Eddie said with a smirk.
Steve rolled his eyes, brushing off the nickname. “They’ll get over it. I forgot to ask, how’d you sleep last night?”
“Like a baby.”
He nodded, looking over Eddie’s shoulder at the school. “No one’s bothering you, right?”
Eddie chuckled, hiding his face in his hair while pulling a bashful expression. “Why? Are you going to be my knight in shining armor, Sir Harrington?”
Steve huffed out a laugh, looking away for a moment before stepping towards him. He caught Eddie visibly swallow as their faces were only inches apart. He guessed that personal space didn’t exist to him, either. Not when it came to Eddie.
“That’s my thing, isn’t it?” he said in a low voice that only they can hear, his eyes flickering down as Eddie licked his lips. Eddie nodded dumbly, feeling himself lean forward.
The moment was broken as a car honked obnoxiously behind them. “Come on! We need to go!” Dustin shouted, sticking his head out of the window.
“Stop that, you idiot!” Max scolded, slapping his hand away from the steering wheel before he could honk the horn again.
Steve reluctantly pulled away with a grimace. “I’ll see you tomorrow, then?”
Eddie cleared his throat. “Yeah, tomorrow. Unless, you know, I need help with my homework or something.”
He frowned. “On a friday?”
God, he’s such an idiot sometimes. “Yeah, you’re definitely not Han Solo,” Eddie said, smirking. He slapped his shoulder and headed over to his car without a second look.
Steve shrugged, rushing back to the car before the gremlins grew more antsy. When he finally flung himself into the driver’s seat, ignoring the chorus of groans from the back about how long he took, he saw Max give him a knowing look. He didn’t have time to think about that as he started the car and pulled out of the parking lot. Max sorted through his selection of tapes before popping one in, leaning back with a relaxed sigh.
“So, Steve…,” Dustin started. Steve looked at him through the rearview mirror. “Are you and Eddie besties now?”
Steve snorted. “I wouldn’t say besties. I mean, Robin’s my bestie.”
He didn’t know what to call them. They were definitely friends for sure now, but would it count as being best friends if you make a fool out of yourself to make them feel better or wear their clothes or listen to the music that they gave you or helping with their homework or sleeping next to them on their bed so that the both of you could finally get a full night’s sleep? He did half of those with Robin, but it felt different with Eddie. He wasn’t completely familiar with having a best friend that did not form during a life threatening event but after.
“Still not sure why you won’t date her. She’s the perfect girl standing right in front of you, unless you’re still hung up on Nan -”
“Dustin,” Mike snapped, leaning forward until his elbow was on the back of Steve’s seat. “Let’s get back to the matter at hand.”
“Right, so…”
“Are you really going to be playing DnD with us?” Lucas bursted out, interrupting Dustin.
Max raised an eyebrow at him, also wanting to know. She didn’t have much interest in DnD, but after getting back together with Lucas, she would sit and listen as he regaled tales of his character and the party in a past campaign. So, even if she didn’t join in their new campaign, she wouldn’t mind sitting around during sessions and following along with the story. Although Steve may seem like the last person that would play DnD, she knew that he could be a bit of a pushover when it came to them. She was surprised it didn’t happen sooner.
“Well, yeah,” Steve said, trying to be casual about it with a shrug, “You guys are always talking about it -”
“And also talking about Eddie all the time and you’d get jealous over it,” Dustin added.
“Don’t make me change my mind, Henderson.”
“What class are you going for? A fighter?” Lucas asked excitedly.
“Nah, wouldn’t he be more of a barbarian?” Mike said.
“I think he’s more of a paladin,” Max spoke up, facing the window.
Lucas gave her a considerable nod and a thumbs up through the side view mirror. He’ll make a nerd out of her yet. The process had only just begun. She rolled her eyes at him, trying so hard to hide a smile.
“Look, guys. I haven’t figured all that stuff out yet, so… maybe you can help me while we set things up for tomorrow?” Steve suggested.
The backseat exploded in cheers, their voices overlapping each other as they threw out ideas for his character’s backstory and personality. Steve shook his head fondly at them. This is what he wanted. For them to be kids, no matter how annoying they can get.
