Time for uninterrupted stripes and seamless knitting in the round. The No Heel Turn Sock Pattern is finally written up. (Please excuse the makeshift cardboard sock blockers...)

This sock knitting pattern does not require to work a heel-flap and there is no need to pick up stitches.

The heel in this pattern is created simply by working increases, followed by an equal number of decreases.

If you are able to knit on double-pointed needles in the round, you are confident to work k2tog and ssk decreases, and you have toyed with the idea of getting into sock knitting, this pattern will be a beginner-friendly entry into the wonderful world of top-down vanilla socks.

After about five months, I picked up my Neon shawl again to finally knit the edge. If everything goes well, I "only" have 19 more tips to knit in each color ... Cast on the #twinningtee by @drunkknitter (IG). Lovely pattern, very well written and easy to follow! Can't wait to finish and wear it.

I also want to thank @creationsbyvalorie (IG) for showing this pattern in her podcast (A Visit with Nana and Papa) and gifting it to me (because i won a pattern prize in her MAL...YAY!)

There is also a matching cardigan i have my eyes on, so maybe there is a twin set coming in the future..

Yarn is Cotton Happy by Filo Blu (Gründl Wolle) in the colour mint. I always thought cotton yarn isn't that soft while knitting with it, but this yarn is a dream to knit. So soft!

Knitters of tumblr hear my plea!

My boyfriend wants me to make him a gingham style scarf with two colors, I originally thought this would be easy and I would find at least a pattern similar to this to go off of. No avail

Everything I’ve read so far is a version of double knitting, while I haven’t done it yet I was wondering if anybody had an insight or helpful hints

Please help he never wanted me to knit anything for him before and now he thinks I don’t want to cause I’ve been stalling trying to figure it out

Pattern Review: Augustins No. 18

Augustins No. 18 was the first garment pattern I completed as a new knitter. It’s a simple and basic design, perfect for layering on cooler days or wearing as a sleeveless top in warmer weather.

I ended up using Sultan Pastello from Hobbii. The colors are called Gooseberry and Grape. I needed dk weight yarn for this pattern which meant I had to combine two strands of this yarn and only had one of each color. Plus, both are amazing colors on their own, but put them together and you have the most refreshing shade of summer! This yarn is 100% cotton, so again, perfect for the warmer days coming up.

The pattern itself is straightforward and easy to follow. It’s knitted bottom up with folded hem and yoke. There are no fancy stitches that’s bound to get beginners like me confused or frustrated. Great for mindless knetflix and knit for advanced knitters as well!

Now, I made the mistake of jumping straight into it without gauging, so this particular finished piece is too small for me 😂 That’s why knitting a gauge sample is a must before every project! It’s ok because I still enjoyed the process and I’m going to give it to my sister probably.

I have fallen so in love with this design that I have casted on for a bigger size that I am currently working on!

Injecting a splash of colour with this week's knit swatch... The Two-Colour Loop Stitch is super simple, rewarding and beginner-friendly.

The loop effect is achieved by mostly knitting, some purling and simply slipping lots of stitches.
