ok knitting help time
so I am back to knitting (at least for now) my Camisole No5 by My Favourite Things Knitwear and tbh im over the body part lol (i've been working on this wip since may) so I am now going to finally move on to the armhole edges and the neck edges which is done in double knitting which after watching a youtube video i kinda get the gist but my problem is the set up (im probably just over thinking this...) but like what does it mean when it says "middle right underneath the armhole" like does this mean right in the middle OR on the right side of the middle and then what does it mean where it says "pick up and knit in all new stitches underneath the the armhole + 2 edge stitches" honestly this whole pattern really got me but I just want to finish it and say that I did it this is by far one of the most complicated patterns i've ever made def above my skill level but i am trying ....

I finished another keyhole scarf
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I used size U.S. 7 (4.5 mm) needles for the scarf. For the keyhole, I used size U.S. 7 (4.5 mm) double pointed needles. I used Red Heart Super Saver worsted weight yarn in Saffron.
I use this pattern for it here:
This is my second one! My first one was pink, so I kept that one for myself. This scarf is so damn easy! I modified it, so at the beginning I do a make 1 increase rather than a yarn over with a knit two together. Instead of two inches for the keyhole, I stuck with the knit 1, purl 1 rib, I used my standard number of 14 rows for the keyhole. Instead of knitting three together, I used a knit two together for the other leaf of the scarf.
It got so many compliments at my knitting circle yesterday. It also stirred up a lot of memories with my knitting circle. Some of the members grandmother's knit them one of these once upon a time.

Hi have a PURELY hypothetical question if someone were to end up with a whole bunch of granny squares because someone just learned how to crochet granny squares, what would one make with these completely hypothetical granny squares?

Interest Check
I've been thinking about a fannish 'sewing circle' discord.
How interested would you be in joining for weekly movie watch-alongs, project help and ideas, general fan chat while you sew or knit or draw?

Okay, this post by @hollers-and-holmes inspired me. Knitting circle, which famous Christian is right for your mollusk-slurping island adventure?

Hey knitting circle!
I just had an idea - what if we did a virtual baby shower for ellakas? I'm thinking something along the lines of writing bedtime stories or recording ourselves reading bedtime stories or singing lullabies (each person picking what suits them best) and then choosing a day to send them all to her.
Thoughts?

Today was a delight! I did some work for my homemaking group, finally set up a leaf compost bin set up, got the leaves dumped in, made chili for Sunday, had all the windows open, and got the laundry largely done.
The highlight of the day was getting to listen to 3 Homemaker Chic episodes and chatting via Marco Polo with two dear homemakers about our work and our day and our plans. I feel refreshed. It's so important to connect with other homemakers, to create and foster that knitting circle. Just a delight!
Also, the wild violets are blooming!

Christmas Wishes
Her soul is an exile, her soul is at home. Reach out, you lovers, so she’s not alone.
It is well with her soul, her soul cries out for love. Reach out, you lovers, with grace from above.
Our King was an exile, our King felt alone, our King won the battle to welcome us home.
So then, grace for our lady and the whole Church’s blessing of love, hope, and peace to ease your soul’s stressing.
Your body may be far, but your soul’s very near, and the whole Church unites to say your soul’s dear.
Happy Christmas, beloved, from all of us to you. Here’s to peace, joy, and comfort, To all that is true.
for @ellakas

Hey Knitting Circle! I need some help.
So I have started my first official non-practice project. (It’s a snood! Which is just the best name ever for an article of clothing.)
Tumblr media
It uses a moss pattern and I think it’s coming along pretty well so far. What I’m having trouble with is my pointer finger: It flippin HURTS! The repetitive motion of flipping the yarn around to the right position over and over is making it super sore.
Is this normal? Is there something I’m doing wrong? I’ve tried other ways to move the string but they always feel too lose. Tips are most welcome!

Woah! I did not expect there to be so many members of the Circle hidden between blogs here! Thank you all for responding to that post. You've welcomed me and educated me and I'm excited to meet so many of you! I will take my cousin's route and consider myself Circle adjacent also. :) I can offer awkwardness, kind words, blankets and snacks! I adore Lord of the Rings, baking, reading, doing multiple forms of art, and finding a new hobby every other week.
Hello! 🧚‍♂️

question for my Christian/religious friends!
do you think it's inappropriate or wrong to create entertainment media based on important texts/history of your religion? and I'm completely excluding things that might be offensive or demeaning, including stuff that could be considered overly flippant or heretical.
this question springs from a conversation with a friend who believes that we shouldn't use the Bible as the source for entertainment media (specifically, I recommended The Chosen TV series to him, and this was his response). this idea had never even occurred to me, and tbch, seems to have an undertone of "we shouldn't enjoy things that are Holy" to it (or at least, something akin to "if we are enjoying it, it's probably Wrong/Not Holy Enough").
I'd love to get other people's opinions on this! especially if you have good theology/Scripture to back it up!

O you are brave.
Who see only your quaking, how you crave
To turn and flee, there is a door, there is an out--
But I see how you shake yourself and quench your doubt.
The women crowding round to see (Esther, Harriet, Joan of Arc)
You make your small and scarlet mark:
O how they shout: a sister! And cry thanks,
How they spin skirts and clasp their hands in glee
To add a new name to the ranks
Of women who got victory.
