Do I lose “Man” points because I have to use pliers to remove the seal from the cork?

Do you ever get influenced by what you read/see/hear? Of course you do, it’s one of the bases of Advertising. Donnie Draper didn’t invent it but he sure as hell worked it.
Over the past year I’ve been reading(cough listening to audio books cough)  the “Stone Barrington” series and yes it’s a lame as hell name, by Stuart “By Law I have to call him Pompous Ass” Woods, and he speaking through Stone and Dino and others goes on and on about Knob Creek, how it’s this and how it’s that. So after 50-60 Barrington books, it was ingrained in me that I should try it. I’m sure they send Woods a case or two for all the fluffing that he does of the product even if he can’t keep his various story lines exactly straight and on the same page, but that is for another rant (though I doubt I waste the time on that one).
Well, after visiting various ABC stores (that is what they are called in North Carolina), I passed on buying a bottle since they didn’t have any airplane bottles and one of the clerks made the suggestion of getting one at a restaurant.
While, I don’t recall exactly how Stone or Dino would order them, I generally prefer a drink to be a bit chilled so I ordered one at with an ice cube. Now the North Carolina humidity might have melted it, or maybe the bartender ignored the waiter, but either way it came back warm, and I gave it a try. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t close to living up to the hype. I’ll try it again at some point, maybe I’ll find some airplane bottles somewhere and can try one after various days, moods, weather etc and see if it’s any better. Again, it wasn’t bad, but I’d rather have some Jameson, if it came down to buying a bottle.

Bickle Knob is the high point on Forest Road 91 in the Monongahela National Forest, which traverses some of the wildest and most beautiful areas of the Allegheny Mountains. Depending on which end you enter, the gravel road starts or finishes with the Stuart Recreation Area and the Otter Creek Wilderness. Bickle Knob rises roughly halfway between the two, with Bear Heaven Campground squeezed into a sharp bend on the descent from the top of the mountain. Bickle Knob is most notable for hosting one of the few remaining forest service fire towers in West Virginia, which is accessible to the public. The original cab has been removed and replaced with an open viewing platform. Views are breathtaking in all directions. The tower and other facilities in the area were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the early days of the national forest system. The most evident artifact, aside from the fire tower, is the gorgeous stonework of an historic water well located along the road, a memorable legacy from a day and an age when hand-carved and constructed edifices were both a necessity and an artform; they need to be restored and protected for future generations.

Are there anything big gun shows anymore? Like I know shot show is bigger than ever but I mean like the old school surplus and cool shit shows?
I went to the Indianapolis show last weekend and it kinda bummed me out how it was 90% just bigger gun stores with their inventory on the tables.
