my first thought: oh my god someone sees something and thinks of my silly little stories :') my second thought: i need to tell everybody how i came up with the name for 'kny'. so! as i think i've already told before the whole idea of 'kny' didn't start with ran, but with rindou and salt&vinegar chips i was eating every single day in october 22. i built everything around rindou and then i thought that it would be cute and a bit challenging for me to write a story where ran wouldn't fall in love with reader right away, but rather slowly and at the same time he (and rindou too) would know that ran would fall in love with her. i wanted to portray this longing he would have for her and the inevitable feeling of i know i will love you and you are mine from the first time i've seen you (which is what ran thought when he saw her outside of the conbini covered in blood; her being assaulted a moment before and being drenched in blood was meant to be symbolic too btw, for we know that ran is violent and vicious and so will be his love, but at the same time he is the one who defended her in the end and so he is the only one who can free her). anyway, as i was brainstorming the idea and thickening the plot, i was listening to deftones and one of their album is called koi no yokan. i thought the name was cute and everything and then days later i stumbled upon the phrase on pinterest, but again didn't pay much attention to it. i just kind of acknowledged it and that's it. but when i was writing the scene in the ramen shop i was like 'oh my god koi no yokan is gonna be the name for this story because it's literally what i've been writing about the whole time'.

but thank you so much for sending it to me, i still can't believe that someone somewhere out there sees something and is reminded of my stories. it means so so so much.

What is the Deftones song that means the most to you and why?

Kind of an impossible question to answer. I go through a revolving door of favorite song, for sure, but the whole band is MEANINGFUL for me.

I think right now I’m digging the Diamond Dyes album, but my favorite songs are off of SNW and ATF I think. KNY fucks and there’s few songs more beautiful than Romantic Dreams.

The meaning of Koi No Yokan

I thought of the album by the Deftones today and I wondered what if the words ment anything. I like what it means. It is a Japanese term that means -> The sense one can have upon first meeting a person that the two of you are going to fall in love. Differs from “love at first sight” as it does not imply that the feeling of love exists, only the knowledge that a future love is inevitable.
