Royal Tiaras Highlights: Queen Alexandra’s Kokoshnik Tiara
The tiara was gifted to the then Alexandra, Princes of Wales - future Queen Alexandra of the United Kingdom - in 1888 by the “Ladies of Society”, on the occasion of Alexandra’s silver wedding anniversary with the Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII. The piece was inspired by a tiara frequently worn by Alexandra’s sister, Empress Maria Feodorovna of Russia. It was created by the crown jeweler, Garrard. It features 77 fringe pieces, more than 400 diamonds and it can be worn as a necklace.

asking royal simblr: show us your favorite IRL tiara and then your favorite *sims* tiara!!!
So... my favorite irl tiara is something that technically wouldn't be considered a tiara, but its just so pretty I have to share.

This is Anna Pavlova, a prima ballerina from Russia. The kokoshnik she is weaing is one of my favorite kokoshnik pieces, especially the pearl flowers. It is just so intricate.
My favorite sims tiara is tied between these two

I love the shapes and the colors of the gems. So pretty!

A sensual sketch for Valentines Day. This is my OC (original character) Masha from my speculative science fiction story. She is a deathless Android with a mysterious soul who travels through a galaxy of strange encounters, learning about the consequences of mixing near magical technology with the passions and cruelty of human nature.

Here's a small collection of my personal jewelry that I'm willing to sell to help Goldberry.
I talked about each in more detail in my second account @goldberrys_treasury
1. The finest tiara I have ever owned. Swarovski crystals and pearls. It’s very delicate and refined. 80€ SOLD
2. This set of ring and earrings. Golden brass and an amazing handmade glass - so there are little air bubbles inside. In the light it changes color: from a light green color of young grass to a dark emerald, like the crowns of oaks. 120€
3. A necklace made of a bear claw. Truly the most interesting thing in my collection. The bear is still alive and roams the woods. When I was still living at home, I volunteered at a wildlife rescue center. Once a wounded bear came in. His paw was caught in a trap and was badly damaged. Unfortunately, we had to amputate two of his fingers due to necrosis, but we were able to save the paw! After a complete recovery, the bear was released into the wild. I don't think there is a second such necklace anywhere in the world ❤️ 250€ SOLD
4. Slavic crown-kokoshnik❄️
The pattern on the crown is made in a very complex technique of stamping with further silver plating - only a few workshops in the world know how to work in this technique. 150€ SOLD
5. This beautiful set of earrings and brooch is inspired by the legendary stars of Elizabeth of Austria (Princess Sisi).
The set was found by me in a vintage store in Austria. According to the owner, it’s definitely more than 50 years old - and who knows, maybe Princess Sisi herself or one of her ladies-in-waiting wore them? ✨ 80€ SOLD
6. Necklace with Murano glass.
Found it in a little antique store in Venice.
The store looked like a dust bin full of boxes and books.
Out of curiosity I opened one of the small wooden boxes and in the sunlight this necklace flashed with hundreds of colored lights ✨
Age - unknown.
Origin - unknown.
Properties - it is unequivocally magical ⭐️
90€ SOLD

Hi there, long time follower here. :)
Recently I found this beautiful replica while browsing tiaras - do you know something about the real one is? This is one of the most beautiful tiaras, imho. Thank you!
Tumblr media
Yes, it's based on a diamond tiara that belonged to Vida Cuthbert Herbert, Viscountess Clive, and was auctioned at Sotheby's in 2007 for 300,000 CHF. According to the lot notes it was made circa 1910 and was bought by Viscount Clive for his wife in the 1930s.

At some point after that it belonged to the Albion Arts Institute but I'm not sure if it still does.

The 1400s gave way to the incredibly iconic accessories of the 1500s, namely hoods (both Gabled and French) and ruffs. While the end of the Tudor era saw the popularity of headdresses decline in favour of uncovered hair decorated with jewels, diadems, and feathers, prior to that headdresses were a vital part of court dress. In fact, the style of hood worn was often used as a political statement amongst the nobility. Hats had always been in fashion for men, but the 16th century saw them also become a fashion staple for women. CC links and reference images under the cut.
