It was no secret that you and Kuai Liang had been together for a good while; after meeting at one of Johnny Cage's infamous post-filming parties, you and Kuai Liang had hit it off immediately.

Of course, with you being a little younger and employed as Johnny's social media manager, Kuai Liang had been hesitant at first; he worried that perhaps being with an older man would somehow impact your career and cause you to lose income.

But you never faltered; you made it clear that you loved him and adored him, and you were there to stay. You had made mistakes in the past when it came to dating, whether it was the wrong person or it was the wrong time, but you were adamant about how you felt for him.

You made mistakes, you fucked up, you knew you weren't repeating it with him.

Kuai Liang wasn't a mistake, and the relationship ended up thriving; you kept working for Johnny Cage, even though he told you that working together for ten years, he wouldn't mind if you decided to retire and allow him to pay you a monthly pension - an offer you had to refuse, as you knew that you would be bored without the job.

You and Kuai Liang made it work, though, as most of what you did could be done from home; you settled into his quarters easily, and he even kept a suitcase stocked for you for when you needed to go with Johnny to public events and to do press tours with him.

As you were often Johnny's plus one, you had been interviewed quite a fair bit and the relationship between you and Kuai Liang was public because of that; Johnny would beam and grin with pride as he showed off the fancy engagement ring he had bought for you and Kuai Liang, saying that he was going to plan the wedding and he was going to make it as big and luxurious and fancy as he could.

You never had the heart to tell him that you and Kuai Liang had already set a date and that you were planning on a small, intimate, ceremony. But still, when you were at home, you were always comfortable; usually you went around with Kuai Liang as he went about his duties as Grandmaster, working while he trained new recruits and he sorted issues amongst his men.

You wouldn't talk for hours, but you still enjoyed just being near one another; he would sit down beside you when he had the time, often asking what you were doing even though he never had any clue what it all meant. "The facebook" this, and "the ticky tocky" that.

Saturdays were your day of rest, always snuggled up against one another in bed; you would go through your phone whilst he would read a good book. He was enjoying his copy of 'A Game of Thrones' that you had bought him a while ago; you got the entire collection for him, all five books, after he had expressed interest in reading it when you told him about how Johnny had met the author and you had been able to talk to him as well.

Those were the best gifts you gave him; books and poetry collections and autobiographies. The best gifts he ever gave you were the soft morning kisses and the sweet evening kisses; the gentle touch of his hand whenever he passed by you, and the tender gazes he threw your way when he caught your eye.

Neither of you wanted or needed anything more; Johnny might have gotten you both fancy rings, but you would have been happy with one made of paper. Kuai Liang never made any promises that he would shower you in luxurious, expensive objects or fancy, unique trinkets.

You never made any promises that you would bathe him in gold and ruby and sapphire, or that you would ever drown him in silver and platinum and bronze either. You were content to just be. Nothing else mattered much to either of you.

But as it was a Saturday, you hummed as you rested your head on Kuai Liang's shoulder, feeling his cold skin against yours as you relaxed and pulled the blanket up slightly.

A day of rest after a hectic week, after you had had to accompany Johnny to an awards show so that he could receive his award for playing a famous scientist who had created a devastating invention.

You were exhausted, in all honesty.

"I never thought I'd say this," you said quietly. "But if I hear the name Fritz Haber again, I'll shoot myself."

He laughed softly, putting his hand on your arm as he sighed. "You gave him the script for it... you don't have to go anywhere again, do you?"

"No," you sighed with relief. "I'm all yours until March... he's been nominated, again."

Kuai Liang hummed as he tilted his head to the side, pressing it gently against yours. "So you're all mine for another month."

"Thankfully," you whispered. "You know, I love you more and more every day, I just wish I could bring you along with me."

"I can't spare the time," he pointed out gently. "My duties lie with the Lin Kuei, my beloved. I couldn't leave them."

"I know, but it'd be nice," you mused. "Think about it - you and me, we could go to whatever it is Johnny's doing, and then we could go to the museums and the art galleries. Stop for coffee in a little caff. See if there's any book shops."

"Oh, no," he laughed, shaking his head as he put the book down at once. "You've given me plenty to read for years, my beloved, I don't think we can keep any more books."

You hummed, not entirely convinced. "Can't we build a library?"

"Maybe one day," he grinned. "We could have a big library, one that reaches the ceilings and the floors, with every wall covered in books."

"And a special place for Lord Of The Rings," you told him. "We need a special place for those."

"Of course," Kuai Liang agreed. "But is that really all you want?"

"I keep telling you this," you started, "diamond rings and status don't mean shit to me - I just wanna be with you... and have a special nook for my Lord Of The Rings books."

"And you'll have it," he promised. "I promise, you will have it one day."

"I might fall asleep right here," you whispered softly. "I'm still knackered... I don't know why Johnny makes me go to the after party every time."

"Sleep," he implored you. "I'll read to you."

You nodded getting yourself comfortable against him as you sighed and snuggled in, ready to listen until his soothing voice rocked you to sleep.

Bi Han and The Dog He Said He Never Wanted

Sareena: Beloved! Look at what I found! He was all alone at the market.Isn’t he adorable?!

*Sareena shows him a Maltese puppy. The puppy starts yapping excitedly and Bi Han looks disgusted.*

Bi Han: Take it back Sareena.

Sareena: Bi Han! Don’t be mean!

Bi Han: We are not keeping that little beast.

They did end up keeping him much to Bi Han’s dismay. He was not an animal lover and he told Sareena that the puppy was entirely her responsibility. He would not care for it.

Sareena tried to name the puppy Snowball. Bi Han couldn’t help but roll his eyes.

Bi Han: We’re not calling him that.

Sareena: Why not? It’s cute.

Bi Han: No.

Sareena: What about Fluffy?

Bi Han: Are you serious? Absolutely fucking not.

Sareena: Then what ideas do you have?

Bi Han: How about, Runt?

Sareena: *slaps his arm* …What about…Fang? After my demon fang swords.

Bi Han: Fang…Fine, whatever.

For a couple of nights the puppy irritated him to no end. It wouldn’t stop yapping. Day and night. It was so god damn needy too. It shit everywhere. Bi Han also became jealous of the little beast because it took up most of Sareena’s attention.

One night, he had enough. He was already sleep deprived, and now this puppy was barking at 3 am in the morning. He grabbed the puppy out of his crate and screamed at him to shut up. When little Fang started whining from fear Bi Han immediately felt like shit.

Wtf was he doing? Screaming at little animals. He quickly tried to quiet Fang so that Sareena wouldn’t wake up and bitch him out for upsetting him. He instinctively cradled the fluffy puppy in his arms, trying to get him to stop trembling. He gently stroked Fang’s head.

Fang was so tiny, so fragile. As Bi Han looked into the puppy’s big eyes, he felt his cold heart begin to melt.

Bi Han: Shhh…Don’t fear little Fang…I won’t harm you…

When Fang licked his fingers, that was it. That was his baby. That was his son. His precious Fang, Fang.

Sareena found him the next morning passed out on the couch with Fang sleeping on his chest.

The first thing Bi Han did the next day was buy him a expensive new blue collar, he had the Lin Kuei symbol put on it.

Sareena: I thought you didn’t like him.

Bi Han: If we’re going to keep this little beast then he must be properly trained.

Sareena: And the fancy collar?…

Bi Han: Don’t question my decisions, woman!

Bi Han is a pretty intense guy by nature and that transfers into his dog parenting.

Bi Han took it upon himself to train Fang. He put him on a strict food and training schedule. He also researched all about puppies and how to train them.

Also put Fang on a cook food diet.

Sareena: Why can’t we just feed him dog food?

Bi Han: You want to feed him that dehydrated crap?! I thought you cared about this dog!

He teaches Fang how to sit, roll over, fetch, shake, and play dead. He’s such a proud father.

Fang becomes like his emotional support dog. Whenever he has a hard day or he’s just pissed off, he calls over his puppy for comfort.

When he’s stuck doing paperwork, he likes to have Fang on his lap to keep him company.

He gets him groomed regularly and cleans his eyes daily. No crusty eyes for his puppy.

It gets really cold in Artika so Bi Han makes sure to bundle Fang up. Fang has a collection of little jackets and sweaters. He also has booties. Sareena finds it a bit silly and can’t help but laugh whenever she sees Bi Han putting booties on Fang.

Bi Han: Don’t laugh at him, it’s to protect his paws from the snow!

He doesn’t take Fang to the dog park anymore because he thinks the other dogs play too rough with him.

He started shouting at the other dog owner and Sareena has had to drag him out of there before he started throwing hands.

Aggressively overprotective over Fang. Once Tomas accidentally stepped on his paw and Bi Han was on poor Tomas like white on rice.

After watching the cutscenes of MK1 and how it ended, I thought about a scene of The Simpsons ("Trash of the Titans"; Season 9, Episode 22) and a similar scenario of Ray Patterson's speech (and a subsequent phrase from Moe) for the story mode:

What if Liu Kang recognized he's not the best fit as Keeper of Time, and he turned to Kronika to return this position to her:

Kronika: *Enters the scene.*

Band, meanwhile: *Plays Mortal Kombat theme and stops when she takes the mic.*

Kronika: Oh, Titans... You know, I am not much on speeches, but it is so gratifying to... leave you wallowing in the mess you have made. You are screwed, thank you, bye.

Kronika: *Leaves the scene to start working immediately.*

Band, meanwhile: *Plays Mortal Kombat theme once she leaves.*

Cetrion: Mother is right. She ain't much on speeches.

But I like more the Latin american dubbing, which translated would be:

I definitely see Kronika saying that, and probably Cetrion saying "What a congruence. Mother really has blood of a Titan".

he'll make sure to take care of you during the pregnancy and will beyond for you and your child. he knows your capable of handling things your own but he wants to assure you that you have him no matter what!

he takes on all the responsibilities of the house once you can barely stand on your own two feet, he cooks all your food cravings and never judges what type of food combos (whatever you want, you’ll get!)

there is a chance that tomas will surprise you with the nursery he had built for your child! (he’s mighty proud so make sure you give him many kisses in return)

once your child finally arrives, he'll be in shock the moment he got to hold them

adoring the way their hands held onto his fingers, nuzzling his nose against theirs (AHHH MY HEART)

once your finally home to rest, he’ll let you know every minute on how proud he is of you! now it’s your time to rest while he takes care of your babe

sometimes he does get stingy with them no lie! once they’re done feeding, he’ll take them immediately to show them off to his brother and his family!

(proudly of course while you giggle in the background with harumi)

no worries though! tomas doesn’t neglect you, he’ll still cook and clean while you take of your babe. run you bathes, assures that you’re an amazing parent and partner always.

i should’ve said this before but i got too caught up with this headcanon 😭 but he’ll never doubt himself about being a bad father or if he was ever ready to be a parent, your children will always be wanted and loved no matter what

to end this, if you want a small or a big family he'll still be excited to grow/have a family with you and love you all endlessly.
