Really wish we had more Naruto movies or novels centered on the blank period, but not on random missions or that stuff.

I want to see Naruto learning about politics and Kakashi struggling to build a new Konoha now that most of its shadows are gone.

I want to hear about the how Ino, Shikamaru and Choji came back from the war as clan leaders and how they transitioned to their new roles while still mourning the lost of their parents.

I want to read about Tenten and Lee adjusting to the fact Neji is not there, that every other team came back with their three members but they didn't.

I want to know what the civilians did, if Hinata and Hanabi pushed for some reformations on the clan, about the kids who went home without parents and if Naruto saw them and thought of himself, if Kakashi made new laws to avoid future cases of kids ending up like Sasuke or Naruto, lonely and rejected for no good reason.

Do they have ptsd about the tsukuyomi? What about the first Kage reunion where they fight post war? How often did they have to deal with people stopping them to talk about the war, since they were heroes? When they sat to decide how the story would be told, who was there? What did they say?

I want to read about Sasuke going back to the Uchiha compound and Naruto staring at Minato's face on the Hokage mountain and reading Obito's name again on the memorial and Sakura an endless string of ghosts crossing her door on the hospital, kids and teens and adults searching a deeper medicine, something to close the wounds the war left behind. Did Sai ever paint how the world is after it almost ended? Did Yamato ever tell anyone who wished he wasn't the one taking care of Orochimaru?

I don't know, it's cool to see their kids growing up and seeing them as parents, but I want to read about the healing and the step by step, waking up to realize the war was won but your body doesn't know it, going out to the whiplash of seeing a new world developing, childhood over, innocence lost, do you dare to dream about new things just yet?

The Konoha 11 + Sasuke Using The Boop Function On Tumblr

Naruto is the Boop King. He has that shit maxed out within half an hour, maybe even using shadow clones on different devices. Sasuke is his biggest booping victim.

Sakura will boop all of the Konoha 11, but within a speed she thinks is “socially acceptable”. The only exemption is Sasuke, who will too find many boops from her in his inbox. It started with just one, but then she couldn’t stop herself.

Sasuke clicked “boop back” on accident when he saw Naruto’s boops in his inbox and accidentally makes Naruto’s day. The only boops he is consistently sending out are to Itachi. Naruto’s boops alone are responsible for his boop meter being on max after just logging on once.

Sai will research the purpose of these boops before using the function. Everyone gets 1 (one) boop from him. He even finds Kakashi’s secret smut account and sends him one boop.

Hinata is very reluctant with her boops, only sending a few to her teammates, and one back to Sakura. Accidentally boops Naruto and wants to bury herself in the ground from shame, but eventually receives 200 boops from Naruto in return.

Shino will adamantly check who he gets boops from, making sure he isn’t forgotten. The only accounts he boops are entomology research institutes.

Kiba is almost as eager as Naruto. However, he thinks it would’ve been a better feature if it were dog paws. He wants to boop Hana to annoy her, but accidentally boops the official tumblr page of her vet practice.

Neji doesn’t want to participate at first, but is eventually pressured into it. Like Sai, he sends one boop back, but only to those who boop him in the first place.

Lee is in an official booping competition with Naruto. For every extra boop he receives, he runs a lap, when the boop meter reaches max, he does a squat and when it gets to Lol territory, he switches to push-ups.

Tenten sees this as an opportunity to let out her frustrations about Lee, sending several evil boops along his way. To her annoyance, Lee just sees that as an extra motivation. She sends a boop to Neji too to encourage him to use the feature.

Shikamaru thinks booping others is a drag, but will send a few to his closest friends. He doesn’t bother checking his inbox, most of the boops are from Naruto, Kiba and Lee anyway.

Choji sends boops to all of his friends, like Sakura in a speed which he thinks is socially acceptable, as well as some super boops to his favorite restaurants.

Ino sends the most boops out of the Konoha 11 girls. She sends a decent amount, however super boops are only sent to the other girls, as she thinks men are not deserving of such a gesture. The only exception would be Sasuke, but she doesn’t boop him because she’s trying to get over him.

my theory on the birth order of the kids of Naruto and why it’s probably not what you think it is:

So something I've thought about a lot recently is the actual birth order of the kids in Naruto.

We don't have years for any of their birthdays, just the actual dates, so a lot of people, naturally, assume that it likely goes January to December in order when it comes to the ages of the kids and that they were all born within the same calendar year. Out of the rookie 9, this would make Shino the oldest and Hinata the youngest, with their birthdays being in January and December, respectively. This would make sense, theoretically, if you don’t really think about it too much. But, after thinking about it, I realized it's actually literally impossible for that to be the case if they all graduated the academy at the age of 12 unless their graduation took place sometime between the 27th of December and the 23rd of January.

But that is not when graduation takes place in most places in real life, and I can’t really see graduation taking place at that time in the Naruto world either. If we were to base this one when graduation takes place in Japan in real life, it would take place in late March. If we go with this timeline and the assumption that all of the rookie 9 were born in the same calendar year then Shino and likely Sakura would be 13 at the time of graduation.

And yet all of them are canonically listed as graduating at the age of 12. While this could always be an oversight and one of those ‘this detail doesn’t really matter’ type situations, I don’t think it is. Because if you do follow the timeline of an actual graduation in Japan and also consider the fact that, in any class in a normal school anywhere in real life, not every kid in the same grade is born within the same calendar year, it’s actually completely possible for them to have all graduated at the age of 12.

Children within the same school year are usually born within a year of one another, but not the calendar year. It’s different everywhere, but the cut off date is usually shortly before a new school year begins in that particular location.

The school year in Japan begins in April, so any children born before April would typically be in the previous year’s class. If school their very first year started in April then Shino and Sakura would have been a grade above the others due to being born before the cut off date of the previous year. Since that is not the case, I have to assume that, instead, they were born shortly before the cut off date for the class they are in.

Sakura’s birthday is March 28th, so it is possible for her to have just turned 12 at the time of graduation, making her the youngest of the rookie 9, not Hinata.

Choji is born in May, so he would be too young to be in the previous class but be among the oldest kids in his class, making him the oldest of the rookie 9, not Shino.

Which would make the age order:

Choji, Kiba, Sasuke, Shikamaru, Ino, Naruto, Hinata, Shino, Sakura.

and not:

Shino, Sakura, Choji, Kiba, Sasuke, Shikamaru, Ino, Naruto, Hinata.

like most people tend to assume.

The only characters out of the rookie 9 who would really be affected by this are Shino and Sakura, but, as someone who consumes a lot of content with Shino, since he’s my favorite, it’s something I have thought about a lot because I see people quite often refer to him being the oldest. While this could still be true if there is actually a case of ‘not putting much thought into it’ taking place here, I see no reason to think it is given this theory which I have had for a long time.

While none of the rest of the rookie 9 are exactly affected by this, several other characters are. Gaara’s birthday is technically first chronologically, being January 19th, several days before Shino’s. This, if we went back to assuming their ages were in order when it came to the calendar year, would make him the oldest out of the kids their age (so, leaving out Team Guy and Kankurou and Temari). This would also set him as being 13 when we meet him, not 12. But he is also specified to be 12. But if he is also born the year after most of the others alongside Shino and Sakura, then he would be 12 when we meet him during the Chunin exams which start on July 1st.

In regards to even more characters who are affected by this, we have Team Guy. They are all supposed to be 13 when we meet them and are all also listed as graduating the academy at the age of 12. Like Sakura, Tenten’s birthday is in March. If we went with the ‘everyone in one class is born in the same calendar year’ theory here, their birth order would be Tenten, Neji, Lee. If this was the case then Tenten would have to be 14 when we meet her, rather than 13. The only way she could be 13 is if she was born in the next year, which would make her younger than Gaara and Shino, which is obviously not the case.

If we went with the timeline that makes sense for them to graduate at 12, it would be Neji, Lee, Tenten. Tenten, like Sakura, would turn 12 shortly before her graduation. Neji would turn 14 during the Chunin exams, but, given his birthday, that would be the case regardless.

I’ve seen people talk about the timeline of Naruto and also come to the conclusion that graduation takes place in March just like in real life Japanese schools, but the majority of them never seem to consider what this means for the characters’ graduation ages. I’ve only seen one person ever have this same theory about the kids’ birth order before, but it was on a Sakura stan twitter account and didn’t seem to get much attention. I doubt this will either, but I needed to make my thoughts on this known. I tend to get obsessed with little details like this especially when it affects my favorite characters, so I just wanted other people to hear this theory.

If you have any details or thoughts that either add to or even poke holes in this theory, feel free to share, but I just thought it was very interesting and wanted to share and also see if anyone agrees with me now after having all of this pointed out like this!

Sakura: Come on, they just used that because it's way shorter than Rookie 9 plus Team Guy plus Sai plus Akamaru. *giggles* Anata, you're also invited.

Sasuke: Are you sure?

Sakura: Yes! *shows the note* See? It says Sakura and Sasuke.

Sasuke: Fine.. Um, Sakura.. I haven't been to something like that.. What do you actually do there?

Sakura: We'll just play games, that's all.

Sasuke: Like dodge ball? Sumo?

Sakura: No, no. Nothing physical, Anata. Just board games and anything fun. The restaurant provides the games, so all teams can join.

Sasuke: Wait, so you mean it's a team thing?

Sakura: Yeah. So, you, me and Naruto.

Sai: Sure.

GM: Three, two, one..

Sai: *uses scissors*

Sakura: *uses rock*

Naruto: YES!!! *covers his mouth* Oh I mean, I guess that settles it.

Sai: *sighs* Fine.

GM: Okay, so the 1st game is Whisper Game. Remember, you can't use any jutsu at any point of time. The teams will line up and every member should wear these headphones with loud music. The first member will get the word and pass it to the next and so on. You have one minute to guess the word. The team that will get it correctly will score a point. In this game, you'll have 2 words. So, the maximum score is 2.

Team line-ups:

Sakura > Sasuke > Naruto

Hinata > Kiba > Shino

Choji > Ino > Shikamaru

Sai > Lee > Tenten

GM: *gets a paper from the bowl* Okay, first up.. Team 8!

Naruto: Go Hinata!

Hinata: *blushes* Thank you, Naruto-kun.

GM: *gives the word to Hinata* Timer starts now!

Hinata: *mouths to Kiba* Ho-ka-ge!

Kiba: *repeats per syllable* Ho-ka-ge?

Hinata: *nods and motions to turn around and tell Shino*

Kiba: Ho-ka-ge!

Shino: Hokage! Hokage!

GM: Correct!! One point for Team 8!

Team 8: *high fives each other*

Team 8 got their 2 words correctly. Team Guy also got their words right. Team 10 didn't get both words in the allotted time, which made Shikamaru very frustrated. He was blaming Ino for being so slow. The others laughed at them while they bickered.

GM: Okay lastly, Team 7! *gives the word to Sakura*

Sakura: A-ma-terasu!

Sasuke: Amaterasu?

Sakura: *mouths* Yes, yes!!

Sasuke: *turns around and taps Naruto's shoulder* A—

Naruto: Ra—

Sasuke: Ma—

Naruto: Men—

Sasuke: Ras(u)!

Naruto: Yes? Ra-men-yes?

Sasuke: Huh? Wait—

Naruto: It's RAMEN YES!!

GM: Th-That's wrong, Lord Seventh..

Sasuke: Usuratonkachi!

Naruto: Why didn't you tell me it's wrong, dattebayo!!

Sasuke: You didn't let me answer!!

Sakura: Hey, it's okay. There's another word..

GM: Okay, let's proceed to the next one. *gives the word to Sakura*

Sakura: Sen-jut-su!

Sasuke: Senjutsu?

Sakura: Yes, Anata!!

Sasuke: *taps Naruto's shoulder* Sen—jut-su!

Naruto: What?

Sasuke: SEN-JUT-SU!

Naruto: Got it! *turns to the GM* TON-KAT-SU!

GM: No.. That's not correct..

Sakura: Naruto!! Why is it always food??

Naruto: Sasuke said tonkatsu!!

Sasuke: I did not!!

GM: Okay, okay. It's alright. It's just the 1st game. *laughs it off*

GM: The next game is this giant Jenga! *shows the giant tower on the table behind her*

Tenten: Wow, I've never seen one that big before!

Ino: Ah, it's good that it's giant. Choji's fingers will have no problem!

Choji: Hey!!

GM: Okay, please form a circle.. So it should be a member from Team 7, then Team 8, then Team 10, then Team Guy.. Then repeat that order until everyone is in the circle. The last team standing will have 3 points. If someone knocks it off, the round is done and that team is eliminated. We will rebuild the tower for the remaining teams until one team wins.

Shino: Copy that.

GM: Okay, first up. Lord Seventh!

Naruto: *picks one from the middle and puts it on top* Too easy! *laughs*

Kiba: *chooses one from the bottom*

Lee: Why would you do that?

Kiba: It's our strategy!!

Shino: We didn't talk about strategy, Kiba.

Kiba: Hey! Don't throw me under the bus!

Ino: Sshhh!! Quiet!!

Shikamaru: /thinks/ So, our strategy is to put Choji in the 1st turn, so he'll get the easier moves. Go Choji!!

Choji: Don't shout! You're making me nervous! *gets one easily*

Lee: *gets one in the middle but it's stuck*

GM: Oops, you can't choose another. Touch move!

Lee: *sighs* Sorry team— *pulls it and the tower collapses*

Tenten: Lee!!

Lee: I'm sorry!!

The GM rebuilt the tower. In the next round, Team 8 was eliminated when Shino accidentally pulled the tower with his sleeve.

GM: Okay, final round! These two teams have no points yet so whoever wins will have a good advantage!

Shikamaru: Focus! Focus!!

Choji: Stop yelling!!

Sasuke: Don't make us lose again, Usuratonkachi!

Naruto: Never!!

GM: Ready, everyone? Begin!

Naruto: *picks a loose piece* See that?

Choji: *picks a loose piece too* Whew!

Sasuke: *gets one at the bottom*

Shikamaru: *gets the other bottom side*

Naruto: Sasuke!! You should have not taken the bottom piece!! Now it's hard for Sakura-chan!

Sasuke: I don't doubt her control.

Sakura: *serious; was able to get a piece near the top* Okay..

Naruto: You're so good, Sakura-chan!! *pushes her*

Sakura: *bumps the table and the tower collapses* Narutoooo!! *hits him*

GM: Team 10 wins!!

Team 10: We did it!! Thank you, Naruto!!

Naruto: Hey!!

GM: Okay, this is the last game. It's worth 5 points. It is called the Ultimate Werewolf. The last villager or the last werewolf will win—

Kiba: How does it work?

Shikamaru: Let her finish!!

GM: So, I'll distribute some cards. The rules will be a bit different because we want to have a sole winner. There will be one werewolf and the rest will be villagers.

Kiba: I still don't understand..

Shikamaru: Maybe if you'll shut up and listen, Kiba..

GM: There will be night and day. At night, the werewolf will kill a villager. That player is automatically eliminated. Then during the day, everyone will try to convince all that they're not the werewolf. Every player will vote for the werewolf. If the real werewolf is still alive, the game continues and the suspected werewolf is eliminated. If the chosen werewolf is indeed the real one, the team with the highest number of villagers win.

Tenten: It sounds complicated but let's see.

GM: I will be the moderator, so just follow my instructions.. Okay, let's form a circle. *gives one card to each player* Hide your cards!

Sasuke: *checks his card* /thinks/ Damnit! Why do I have to be the werewolf?

GM: Okay.. Everyone, it's night time! Close your eyes.. *checks everyone* Werewolf, open your eyes.

Sasuke: *opens his eyes*

GM: Using your eyes only, look at someone who you want to kill.

Sasuke: *looks at Shikamaru*

GM: *points at Shikmaru* This one? Close your eyes if yes.

Sasuke: *closes his eyes*

GM: It's day time. Everybody, open your eyes. Shikamaru-san, you're out!

Shikamaru: What??

GM: Sorry, you can't speak anymore but you can watch. Please move away from the circle.. All the remaining ones, try to convince each other now.

Naruto: It's not me. I didn't move.

Choji: Something that a killer would say..

Ino: If you'll ask me, I think it's Kiba.. Because he and Shikamaru were bickering earlier.

Kiba: Hey, that's not true!

Lee: I'm voting for Kiba too!

Sai: Well, Ino makes perfect sense. I'm also voting for Kiba.

Choji: Kiba is the only choice.

Shino: I'll vote for Tenten.

Tenten: Why me? It's obviously Kiba!

Sakura: It's because they're teammates! Kiba for me too.

Sasuke: Kiba.

Naruto: Kiba!!

Hinata: Tenten.. Sorry Tenten..

GM: Sorry, Kiba-san. You're out. And sorry everyone, the werewolf is still alive.

Choji: No way!!

GM: Okay, it's night again. Close your eyes! Werewolf, open your eyes!

The game continued until only 4 villagers are left. The eliminated players were:

Naruto > Ino > Shino > Hinata

GM: We're almost done! This is the final round. If the werewolf survives, he wins. If he's voted out, the team with the highest number of players wins!

Naruto: /thinks/ Teme, you should kill Sakura!!

Shikamaru: /thinks/ If he kills Sakura, they'll surely win since the others would think it's not Sasuke.

Ino: /thinks/ Sasuke-kun is really a tactician huh. He'll definitely kill Sakura.

Shino: /thinks/ No wonder why he elimated the mentally good ones first. He'll kill Sakura to get the win.

GM: It's night again, close your eyes.. Werewolf, who will you kill?

Sasuke: *looks at Sai*

Naruto: *shakes his head* /thinks/ Idiot!! We should've taken Sai in our team instead!!

Shikamaru: /thinks/ Lost cause.. He'll get voted out.

GM: Open your eyes, everyone! Sai, you're out!

Sai: *sighs*

Tenten: I think it's Sasuke. Sakura could also be the werewolf but she'd probably kill me or Lee because Sai won't vote for her. It's only logical for Sasuke to kill Sakura to survive but he couldn't because she's his wife.

Sasuke: I didn't kill her because I'm not the werewolf. Maybe the werewolf likes you to think what you just said. I'd say it's Lee.

Sakura: I support Sasuke-kun.. I'll vote for Lee.

Lee: Well that doesn't make sense to kill Sai because he's our teammate. I'm voting for Sasuke.

Choji: So, it's me deciding huh? That could be a guise.. Voting for your teammate. And besides Naruto was eliminated early on. So, I think it's not Team 7.. I'd say it's Lee!

GM: And the winner is.. Team 7! Sasuke is the werewolf!

Choji: No way!!

Naruto: Ah, I knew you'll win!!

Sasuke: Shut up, I know what you were thinking!!

Shikamaru: So, you planned for reverse psychology from the start?

Sasuke: Yeah.

sry i have a lot of thoughts lemme just vomit real quick

Ino is always the one to arrange for a hangout between the K12. Whether it's "hey spread the word" in passing or leaving little invitation scrolls on window sills.

The get togethers are always a fun source of gossip since they try to get everyone together once a month, though sometimes Ino hosts a ✨️girls night✨️ bc she loves playing matchmaker

Ino also takes it as a chance to check in with everyone, especially after the war. Overdue mission returns with zero communication always send an adrenaline rush of fear for former teammates, especially in those who have already lost loved ones.

She jokes she's the group therapist, but she kind of ends up taking on that role. She enjoys being a shoulder to lean on, supporting her friends, but she also enjoys the random village gossip she learns from everyone's venting sessions (ino never would have expected shino to come in so handy in learning which restaurants she should be avoiding because he would note unique bugs he saw in the village)

She claims she's the best person for the job because "I'm the most emotionally mature out of the group, obviously." Shikamaru barks a laugh but before he can speak his comeback dies on his tongue as Choji reminds him Ino was his wingman during his proposal plans because they knew Choji would cry too much.

Sun and Moon

Naruto burns hot and fast, hot to the touch and out of reach for any normal person. Beyond their comprehension, it’s almost safe but lonely. It doesn’t change the hurt of loneliness he felt as a child, the only real difference is those glaring eyes now admire him. But, one step wrong, and he’d be that child again. He makes irrational decisions that confuse others and refuses to explain himself. Always at a distance from everyone as he focuses on something that matters more to him than his dream of Hokage. Something he needs.

It’s why Sasuke cools him down, the other half of the balance needed for the Earth to spin. Soft hands clamped together, which won’t let go. Understandable to him and only him wholly. Not out of reach but easy to touch and swallow. The Moon and the Sun shouldn’t be separated from each other; what would they be without each other?

Two lonely children who understand and complete each other, who swallow each others’ suffering whole and provide that comfort they should have gotten, instead of only knowing the hands of violence and blood. A gentle touch finally after all they’ve been through.

Don’t they deserve it? ‘It takes a village to raise a child,’ but without it would they not burn it down to feel the warmth of a mother’s love? Hands clasped tightly together that won’t let go. The Sun and the Moon can’t exist without the other.

The senseis of the Konoha 12 and what do they think about the families of their students :

— Kurenai : She's not close to them but they are mostly fine. Except for the Hyuugas. She holds an active grudge against Hinata's dad for the way he has traumatized his daughters. Or in other words, he can go fuck himself, Hinata is an amazing kid. In Shino and Kiba's case, she sometimes go to talk. In Hinata's case, avoids them like the plague.

— Asuma : In good relation with all of them and actually enjoys talking with them about the kids. Best case scenario. He's like their uncle, being honest. Still he's amazed at how much they don't know about their children sometimes. Not that they are bad parents, but there's so much about their kids they don't understand...

— Gai : Passively sits to listen to Kurenai when she complains about the Hyuugas, which says a lot about his own opinion of them– you know it's serious when Maito Gai stays silent. Otherwise, he is Rock Lee's dad (for all that matters anyway) and Tenten never talks about her family, so he doesn't really care. Those are his kids. It's all that matters.

— Kakashi : Refuses to give his opinion, it's clear to everyone that's not a topic to be discussed with him. First, he won't get caught saying what he really thinks of Hiruzen after seeing where Naruto lives, (never has he ever been so enraged on the behalf of his sensei). Second, it does not take a genius to hate the way the Uchihas used to operate and treat their children. Third, he is still convincing himself there's nothing wrong with the Harunos. It's not working, so he opted to forget their existence, just like Sakura conveniently does.
