As you probably are aware, the current event is important for Saito, one of the MMJ side characters. However she hasn’t been a hugely prominent side character before now, so here’s a post of everything you need to know about her before reading the new event.

Saito is first introduced in the MORE MORE Making Xmas event story, as one of the volunteer staff at MMJ’s first fanmeet. She’s a longtime fan of Shizuku’s, and even refers to her as her goddess.

Saito’s given name is Ayaka. She’s 20 years old (presumably 21 post-3rd anni) and is currently attending university.

Ayaka reappears in Dear Me, As I Was Back Then, working as staff on MMJ’s first solo live. In this event, she reveals that she’s been working part-time at a production company. After working at the fanmeet, she realised she wanted to work as a talent manager for idols, and has been studying how to become one.

As some bonus trivia, her hobby is watching idol concerts, her favorite food is pork cutlets, and her least favorite food is oysters.

but what the real highlight of bokuto's zoo experience was going to their petting zoo. remember when you thought that bokuto has never been livelier as when he was visiting the asian tropical rainforest zone? you were wrong. he was much livelier petting and making friends with the noma horses, the long earred goats, and his personal favorite, the rabbits.

ok so like. unironically i think disliking any of the girls in project sekai is a major red flag ESPECIALLY when people say they don’t like the girls but “ stan ” akito/toya/rui/tsukasa. but can i be honest. at this point disliking any of the characters at all is a red flag. in my brain. i know everyone has their preferences but it’s just... these are all well-rounded, very complex characters. when someone calls any of them “annoying” or “boring” or “mean” it just immediately tells me that they didn’t read the damn stories. or they read the main stories and skimmed maybe half of the event stories. because adjectives like Annoying, Boring, and Mean are the most superficial conclusions you can come to about a character, and if you finished reading the text you’d see that they quite literally do not apply to prsk’s main cast. ok well maybe annoying i will concede on that one a tiny bit but they’re teenagers. maybe don’t play a game about teenagers if you aren’t prepared to be annoyed/subjected to secondhand embarrassment sometimes

like. oh you hate akito? 🤨 why. what part of the text led you to the conclusion that he’s an unlikable character. what did you read. tell me. if you say anything about the way he talked to kohane in the main story you’re going to be in big trouble

they do! it's adorable haha and because my phone and computer's wallpapers are always naruto related they know i love it too, so those who didn't watch the show before do now because they also want to talk about the characters, it's adorable! and they give me drawings :)

now, my favorite anime it's such a complicated topic 😩

it's kimi ni todoke because it has been my comfort anime for years and i just love the story and the characters, but i haven't been able to watch it since haruma's death so idk if it still counts.

but lovely complex is also on the list because it was the anime that reminded me i love animes - i used to watch a lot of them on tv when i was a kid, but when i started growing up i kinda stopped and when i was 13 i came across lovely complex and it was "oh, yeah, i forgot how much i love this" (and also because i love the main characters and it made me laugh and cry sm). and also kotaro lives alone made it to the list. but of course naruto is one of my favorites, and it's been my comfort anime lately (which is funny because the last thing this show does it comfort you 🥲)

but picking just one it's kimi ni todoke hands down (btw i still need to watch komi can't communicate because apparently it's very similar to sawako's story)

Oh my gosh!! I love HaruMai!! It’s nice to see a fellow NPC liker!! I just find HaruMai super cute! And honestly, I wish Mai showed up more in the event stories because she’s only in the main story as far as i know. But yeah, I love HaruMai! They are THE complicated Yuri.

I feel like they still hang out or at the very least, I hope they still do.. but yeah! I love their dynamic! I also might start to ship Ayumi (the girl from re-tie friendship) and Airi! I’ll probably ship it more if I get more content of Ayumi (like her appearance/model and voice).

BUT ONTO AKITAROU, they’re just so cute. You’re right. Kotaro is super gay for Akito. Like bro is in most or almost all of the akito focus events! (I need to fact check that since i’m not 100% sure but he shows up a lot in the ones i’ve seen) He always shows up and talks to Akito and it’s just so cute 😭

#if i think about it though it makes sense from a company stand point #like they already made mizuki’s gender super ambiguous #so they tread lightly on lgbt rep #what better to start than have a relationship between a main character and a side character #so it gives to those who don’t want romance a chance to consume their media without it and focus on the story #because the side character will probs only appear in a few events #while those who want romance and rep have it clear as day #plus these characters already have chemistry and Kotaro himself has a big role in vbs lore #idk i’m delulu i just really like akitaro

i have made it to the mahora school festival in my negima reread

time to be here for about eight volumes or so

#i'm having a great time doing this reread #relearning a lot of things that i'd almost forgotten (especially like sequence of events from this early stuff) #but now we're getting into the real thick of things #i've been swapping back and forth between reading scanlations and my physical copies cuz i find it easier to read on the computer #but sometimes the scanlations are just..... they did their best #and their best was unfortunately not that great #but also i don't like some of the choices the official translation made (like i think they gave ku fei too much engrish kinda stuff) #and it's interesting to see how two different translation groups interpreted the same base material #gives a better concept of what the original meaning could be #anyway it's still pretty funny to me that chigusa just never gets brought up again #but her 'cronies' kotaro and tsukuyomi and fate are like central characters for the rest of the manga #tsukuyomi less so but that's because she's setsuna's designated rival and setsuna is like third protagonist of the thing #negi and asuna are first and second of course #anyway i know it's not possible but i would love to see a less pervy version of negima done somehow #cuz i do love the story but god damn does it get weird sometimes
