horror in my eyes watching people mischaracterise kou and overlooking that his cheerful persona is mostly fake and he's driven by a deep fear of returning to his days of exploitation and nonstop suffering. thats why he's willing to do literally anything. as far as kou's life goes, to lose his freedom and be returned to that worthless life of exploitation is literally The Worst Thing Ever. like nothing can ever be worse than that, not even staining ur hands with sin.

I will cry if they actually make Misukou canon. Like it’s not too far fetch is it? there’s been two times when Teru has been swarmed by both girl AND boys.

...that’s a little extreme for a friend. Not saying friendships can’t be that deep but most times it bc someone loves another a lot. Though Kou dying isn’t great...

So maybe Kou does have feelings for Mitsuba!! It would be really awesome to have a actual gay romance that wasn’t label yaoi but just another love story like a het couple. But honestly I’m not getting my hopes up. Their friendship is just as precious.

i think the reason i dont talk about kousuba as much as kinoyuri or yumashu is just because like they're good for each other and i have no real disagreements. like yes ofc there's angst and potential for it but the premise of kousuba (DIABOLIK LOVERS) isn't like angsty on its own. on the other hand kinoyuri and yumashu's whole thing that defines them is the somewhat tragic circumstances surrounding them.

anyways yea i think this is why i like torehika more than tarotore / toretaro. i think there was always more hope of a better relationship / life under hikari but this hope was dashed.

yea yea whatever yumashu fucking to lovers fanfics but like realistically they are NOT doing that. if they fucked immediately they would never resolve that because shuu is a chicken towards men. it would of course change his life forever but it would not make him go I Have to Confront my Homosexuality. he would pray to god to die but he would not be happy ever. like sakamakis are raised to be misogynists but they dare not be vulnerable much less to a MAN. they can fight other men all machismo but being heart to heart is like trying not to be a misogynist for them. (thats why kousuba got closer by beating each other, it was a substitute for heart to hearts. )

yumashu is slowburn at best. barely touching with no explanation on shuu’s end before he pulls away and after a few times yuuma gets that he won’t get an explanation ever. at best shuu snaps back lightly but never enough to push him away proper. once or twice he almost toes the line then something flickers across his eyes and he stops dead in his tracks. they never spend too long alone together without the assurance that there’s a way out, at least for shuu. it's frustrating enough that it makes yuuma want to snap and eventually he does. shuu doesnt say it but they both know when he lets yuuma touch him or he leans into yuuma's touch he wants to linger longer. even if he shouldn't. but since when has the shoulds stopped him? only when it comes to yuuma because the last time he did something he shouldn't have

like also i think shuu would have to spend more time to know yuuma again do u get me. yuuma is edgar but so much of who yuuma is now has also been shaped as an entirely new person, with no influence of who edgar was. (if rejet ever remembered this) even now that shuu has recognised him, yuuma is a very different person who won't just revert into someone he knows. there are only glimmers of edgar in him now and shuu doesn't know how to interact with him anymore and to be frank how do you as a relatively normal actually vampire interact with a guy who is weirdly obsessed with making things up to you but wont do it the way you want.

also a big thing that slows down yumashu vs like shuyui or yumayui is that yuuma isn't yui and that fundementally changes their relationship dynamic including what shuu is willing to and can do. yuuma isn't fragile and small and unwilling to fight back. he does what he wants and in front of him shuu isn't the strong powerful or cool vampire he always is. well he's still a pure blood but... the point is yuuma is a man and one who is willing to fight back brutally, no matter his goodwill. he doesn't have the leverage to be selfish and leave without it having consequences and i don't think he's willing to lose yuuma again because of his own actions. he has to grow up in a way and make decisions. but at the same time i think with or without yui shuu will always have a selfish streak so while he stays away hesitantly he still sometimes makes decisions for the sake of licking his wounds that he ultimately regrets.
