No tea, no shade. I kind of feel like the ateez hypetrain has gone and the group has fallen off the main radar. I'm not sure if it's because of many online Atinys trying to draw similarities to BTS' origin story or the overuse of early media play pushing out the "next BTS" narrative. But I feel as though many ateez has fallen off compared to other 4th gen groups that debuted the same year as them. I also noticed the trend that many fams who ult Ateez started as late Armys & didnt get to watch BTS themselves grow.
I'm a casual ateez listener and older kpop stan and this is just something I've noticed watching how this group influxes back and forth compared to other 4th gen boygroups that debuted in 2018.

There shouldn’t just be a minimum age for debuting in a k-pop group, there should be one for becoming a trainee too. Like, think about it: you want to become an idol, so you enter a training regime for whatever company to which you will be financially indebted once you sign a (probably years-long) contract.
What if you are never selected? You’ll still have the debt, so you’ll have to find a way to pay it off. How you’ll do this varies. If you’re rich or have people who can comfortably and will willingly provide for you, no (financial) worries. If you do not have this support network, then you will have to get a job (that is if you aren’t stuck with a worse alternative). In South Korea, from what I checked briefly, 15-18 year olds can work part-time and 13-15 year olds can obtain a work permit (as can under 13 year olds who participate in art performances), provided work does not interfere with compulsory education. But part-time jobs may not pay well and it may be harder for foreigners, especially if they plan on staying in Korea but still struggle with the language. (Also, I’m unsure if a company will offer to pay for an ex-trainees trip back home and if it would be included in the debt.) (I also couldn’t find anything on trainee debt interest rates, but I’m not hopeful.)
But what if you are selected? Well, some former idols have said that they were actually paid very little, and some have said that they were still working off the debt years later. With all that, it’s kind of no wonder we get idols who just... aren’t that good. I know that if I somehow decided the idol lifestyle was for me, I’d want to be an excellent singer, dancer, performer, rapper, whatever. But how much debt would I have to accumulate via the trainee system(s) before I get to an acceptable level (for idols, that is, even though singing isn’t always taught in a way that is sustainable and technically good)? How many minors would take that risk? To be clear, there are lots of idols who do improve over the course of their career and I’m not disparaging them, I’m just saying that they should have been allowed to improve without the eyes of the wider public on them.
And that’s not even talking about the effects of growing up in a system where cosmetic surgery, strict beauty standards, weighing, dieting and submitting to authority and public opinion are at least encouraged and at most enforced while you’re still developing a sense of self and the world around you.

aespa should just go all in with their AI concept, the girls are so talented but their stage presence is so lacking. they always seem so blank and emotionless on stage
let the girls do the singing, and the avatars do the dancing

I really don't have rules on my blog except no illegal stuff.
My Astrology ships are based on Eastern & Western astrology. All I need is your DOB or your Sun sign & your year animal.
If you do request astrology ships those take longer to do than selca h written especially if multiple groups are requested.
Written Ships - Is whatever you want to write about yourself personality, description, MBTI etc.
Selca Ships - Just a selca & keep it appropriate.
If you want to ask questions, opinions, vent, rant etc. You can also do that too.

hi bae! so i saw someone say this and i was wondering what opinions you have about it :) "I feel like idols aren't blackfishing but rather whitewashing. Their pics are so heavily edited to make paler/have paler makeup so if someone sees their actual skin color they think it's blackfishing. Asians can have really dark skin too. Also i dont think they do their own makeup so it's a bit unrealistic to me that they specifically would request to make their skin darker. Why would they even do that anyway? Pale skin is the standard in Korea like their mindset is the paler the better. It honestly sucks but that's how most asian countries go by."
Warning I wrote like a whole essay…I’m so sorry 😭 and this is just my opinion like anon asked for so don’t be upset and you can also tell me your opinion if you want. And thank you for asking for my thoughts on this. ❤️
Hi love!!
Ok, I thought about this long and hard, I feel like both are pretty big issues in S. Korea with the black and white fishing. But first, let's get this out the way all skin is beautiful and there's nothing wrong with being dark-skin or pale skin. Also, that paragraph rubbed me some kind of way because idols have done both whitewash and blackfishing. Now as most know Asia as a whole is known for their extreme beauty standards, being pale and skinny, now narrowing in on South Korea and specifically idols they are seen to uphold this beauty standard.
They're supposed to be pale and skinny, but not everyone likes pale and skinny. In reality, it's honestly almost not their fault they think like this, as this mindset has been around for centuries and it was pushed on to them as they grew up.
But this minds set can be extremely dangerous and toxic, multiple idols and non-idols have done extreme things to obtain and skinner body or pale skin. And in my opinion, I believe they think being pale has something to do with looking innocent, I can't really explain it but I feel like those are tied together somehow. And a lot of groups/ fans have bullied the ‘darker’ or ‘fatter’ members for not being as light or skinner as the others. For example Mingyu from seventeen, Haechan from NCT, Yeri from Red Velvet, Kai from EXO, Jongho from Ateez and so on. This also influences the fans too without them even knowing, there was this sick trend on YouTube a while back when fans started copying the diets these idols went on. Like “eating like Irene from Red Velvet for a week” or “Going on TWICE’S extreme diet”. And not too long ago Enhypen was trending for fat-shaming Sunoo and fans were joking on TikTok saying “I should lose weight before meeting enha so I can have a chance”…IT'S SOOO SICK!!
And on the other hand, some idols use blackfishing just to gain attention, whether it's directly painting their skin a darker color (mamamoo...🙄), literally getting box braids or dreads, (Lisa, Winwin, Kai), and using hip hop concepts to try and act/ look black. Which is very very insulting! You can sing/ rap a genre of music without being offensive, but NO they like to do culture appropriation to gain more attention not caring if the attention is negative or not...
Basically in the fcking end kpop altogether has some serious ass issues that fans overlook all because they put on glittery eyeshadow, look hot, and dance.

joohoney amazes me and here's why.
first of all, picking such a cute stage name while being a legendary rapper in a group where the concept is 'badass'... iconic.
and not only is his name cute but he's fucking cute. and he thrives off of it. basically the king of aegyo. we know this. and when he does it, it's not even cringe at all. he's just cute. which makes him fucking good at it.
he's got phenomenal vocals on top of being the main rapper. him and changkyun bounce off of each other so well, their chemistry on stage is unmatched.

Something I'll always scream on the top of my lungs that I can feel is super duper califragilisticexpialidociously real is that kpop stans wouldn't hate BTS if they weren't BTS. Ya'll always want humble begins but when it's BTS it don't count and to be honest it's kinda silly because the people you shoot so hard for, would pew pew you for a bts member. I'm just saying...

kep1ian is a good fandom name for kep1er, and kep1er isn’t a bad name at all. k-pop stans are just allergic to numbers
kep1er’s name and fandom name have received criticism for being silly sounding but i think it’s fine and those that are being critical just don’t get it. kep1ian makes us fans sound like alien beings and isn’t that cool? plus it’s better than whatever kep1er’s fans were cooking before the name reveal; like keepers was one i saw a lot and i never liked it at all.. and the names people were coming up with before the name was revealed to be kep1er? awful. for example, COSMIX was one i saw a lot and it looks boring and more like a makeup brand or something. asteria was another and THAT sounds like a land in some mid rpg. 9alaxy just looks tacky. we don’t talk about gi99le. and every fucker on reddit going ‘tee hee dayeon and friends lol get it’ you were never funny. kep1er sounds cool and rolls off the tongue well and i swear people only shit on it because it has a number in it AS IF OTHER GROUPS DONT HAVE NUMBERS IN THEIR NAME (ahem NCT 127, ab6ix, that one boy group under MLD ent). plus it’s futuristic and space themed isn’t that neat
Propaganda is always encouraged!
And remember to reblog your favourite polls for exposure!
