Red-headed Krait (Bungarus flaviceps) one of the highly venomous elapid snake that has awesome striking colouration. Red-headed kraits are nocturnal, semi-aquatic and inhabits rain forests in mountainous and hilly regions.
First time road cruising and our guide Steven spotted this beauty. Honestly, I was fighting not to fall asleep in the car, but that moment and their excitement woke me up. Good memory for our first road cruising :)

daily snake #7
💛 The Banded Krait (Bungarus fasciatus), found on the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and southern China, is the largest species of krait, reaching 8 ft 10 in. Despite being venomous and potentially fatal, it’s shy and nocturnal, so its threat to humans is low.

China gets a newly discovered species of snake!
OK, it is a crocodile in this pic, but on 25 May 2023, China got a new species of snake.
A dangerously venomous species of Krait no less.
Formerly treated as a western population of Baungarus fasciatus, the west Chinese specimens from around Yunan turned out to be a completely different species.
Snakeman Raymond Hoser published a major scientific paper describing three new species, one from the Mekong river drainage, another from the central Thailand plain and a third from northern Borneo.

New OC named Krait. He is a male, named after a type of sea snake called a Sea Krait. Despite his past, he has a very kind personality and is curious towards other dragons.
Kraits Story:
When Krait was still a young dragonet, barely old enough to remember, his parents took him out for a flight. During this flight they ran into a Skywing patrol and were forced to fight. Kraits mother pointed him towards the shoreline and told him to run as fast as he could without stopping. Somehow, Krait managed to to make it to the shoreline where he waited for his parents to return, unknowing that they were being hauled to the Sky Kingdom arena where they would later perish.
After laying on the beach all night, the next day an old war beaten Mudwing found Krait shivering in the rain. Despite the fact that Mudwings and Seawings were currently enemies, the old Mudwing did not consider himself a member of the tribe anymore and had abandoned the war after the loss of his unit. He decided to take Krait in and ended up raising him.
For years this Mudwing would teach Krait how to hunt, fly, fight, and of course hide. They lived out of a cave near the beach where Krait learned to swim and navigate ocean currents. The old Mudwing kept Krait hidden until the war had ended and Krait decided to leave, and see the world not through horrible war stories but, through his own eyes.

Congrats on the 300! 🎉 It's well deserved too! I haven't been a follower for too long but seeing your work on my feed is always a plus! You have a very fonky style and it's makes my brain go 🥴.
If you feel like it could you draw my oc?
Her name is Krait, she's a very curious and mellow daydreamer that gets surprised easily. She works as a nursery guard even though she's never really liked dragonets much.
Thank you! Enjoying all these compliments calling my style funky :]
Here ya go!
Also gasp!! I have an oc named Krait too!! :DD
