The Socialites
This is a story about events that never happened, to people that never existed.
A story told by tellers that could not speak. Whispered to audiences without ears. Transcribed by writers that could not read, and read by readers without "in between the lines" eyes.
This is a tale of the plotters who seek to noose serpents around your neck and tempt the apple back from your Adams.
Keen eyes rubbed across rutted print reveal the spaces between the words expose a number shaped like a key. A key meant to be thrust and cranked into every plot hole the plotters have left open, unashamed, spread like legs in search of money in fetid unaired motels.

The Head slants its eyes towards Mark and words wriggle off its tongue like maggots probing for a new spot of rancid meat.        "It's all a matter of perspective. Take whales for example. You think of whales as beautiful majestic creatures. The whale song is a thing of awe and wonder for you, but not for the krill.
For the krill the whale song is a terrifying, heart stopping, harbinger of death, destruction and sorrow.
The krill don't have a cute name like 'whale' for this thing, they only know it as death.
Imagine the tiny little krill civilizations, with their tiny floating krill temples, sacrifices to their krill gods, and their krill calendar foretelling an apocalyptic end of krill days.
Or perhaps there are little krill armies with little krill commandos on the front lines of Death Mouth Defense, with krill propaganda posters featuring destruction at the Mouth of Death imagery, with slogans like 'This is why we fight', and 'Never Forget.'
Possibly there are krill mantras popular amongst the krill masses like 'Live every day to its fullest, for the Mouth of Death is always at your back.'
You might only measure a krill culling in minutes or seconds, but they measure it in generations and losses.
It's even likely that each new krill generation grows more lax and inattentive, maybe they start to think of the Mouth as a myth, and by the time they come to realize that there is real legitimate impending doom, it's too late for them, and the losses are great and devastating."
Mark tries to wave away the smell of this freshly delivered bouquet of claptrap.         "Okay, so we are terrible destructive mouth breathing whales swallowing up all of the poor little creatures in our path, growing fat, lazy, loud and complacent with too much bread and circus?"
The Head drags a brazen slow smile from one side of its mouth to the other and with a long laborious exhale, breathes out a low toneless grate.          "No, you are not the whales. You are the krill and the mouth is agape at your backs."
