Omg that new clip of Ricky and Gina dancing looks like a rehearsal. So that means Ricky must be hans since Anna and hans have a dance together in frozen play. I actually listened to "love is an open door" and I noticed it kinda parallel rina cause Anna and hans also singing how they got each other like no one else in that song.
So this is the moment I believe you're talking about😊:
Tumblr media
It's definitely a rehearsal considering the set design and the fact that the door behind them has the Frozen snowflakes. Both Ricky and Gina are also wearing comfortable clothes, like the kind you would wear during dance rehearsals🤔. I would honestly love it if Ricky ends up playing Hans b/c I think it would allow him some range as a performer. We've seen him play the lead twice before now, but never a villain-like role. I think it would be pretty cool to see him as a lead, but this time as the villain as well. 😁 I think Ricky could have a lot of fun with it considering it's something he's never really done before. This moment reminds me a little bit of when Anna first walks out of the castle and immediately bumps into Hans and he catches her. We still don't know which role Ricky will end up playing, but it's definitely either Kristoff or Hans. To be clear, I definitely don't think Ricky is exactly like Hans in terms of Gina's love life, but I get the point ur making about the lyrics of the song. Like Anna with Hans, Gina also fell for Ricky pretty soon after meeting him. So in the context of "Love is an Open Door," Anna actually means what she sings, while Hans does not.
There is a rumor tho, that EJ may fill in for whoever plays Hans in 3.04/3.05 (not sure) and he may end up singing this duet with Gina. Funnily enough, the lyrical content in the context that they would be singing it would actually ring true. Just like Anna with Kristoff, it took Gina a lot longer to get to know EJ. And Gina already knows who EJ truly is, and vice versa (unlike Anna/Hans). No idea if that's the cover song Matt and Sofia have this season, but if it is, I think it would be a really cute and sweet moment for EJ and Gina (and more foreshadowing for them falling in love. I'm just saying🤷🏽‍♀️)
Sorry for the late response anon.❤

For the Character Analysis game
Kristoff 🦌
Link to the game
Probably best male character ever.
Virtue: He sees people for who they are.
Flaw: he EATS reindeer drooling.
Favorite moment from their arc: he giving his all for taking Anna with Hans, leaving his feelings for her aside, in order to save her life.
Least favorite moment from their arc: he not hugging Anna when she thaws. For goodness' sake, you just saw her die!
One relationship they have with another character: obviously, with Anna.
One relationship I’d like to see explored from this character: again, Kristanna.
What I would have liked to see happen with them in the media: I wanted to see the transition from 'we kissed for the first time' until 'I live in your house. '

I'm starting to believe that "The Enchanted Forest" is the book in the franchise that fans know the least even though it has so many changes (especially about KristAnna and Ryder) and interesting additions to "Frozen 2".
Tumblr media
The version I have is the spanish version that I translated into my language (brazilian portuguese), but on the YouTube channel "Chrispy Patty" you can read the book in english.

Update
Hi everyone. Sorry for the long absence. My work schedule changed and been trying to adjust to it. I finally got some time to come back on, and I’m planning to write two analysis pieces. One will be about Kristoff’s role in the climax scenes in both movies. The other will be about how Iduna’s shawl has another hidden symbol to it. I also have some Kristanna fics in mind, but they are still in the works. I hope to have these up in a couple of weeks, and get myself more involved in the fandom.

My Personal Opinion of Kristanna
I've seen a ton of people voice their opinion of Anna and Kristoff's relationship and so I thought I'd give my own personal take on it. And my take on it is this: Their relationship is meh.
I'm not an Anti-Kristanna, I don't mind reading and writing works where they have them together but for the most part the ship itself isn't one that I feel is all that interesting. And I have 2 reasons for that.
1) Their relationship really isn't that important.
And by that I mean that If you took their romantic relationship out of the first movie, it really wouldn't change anything. You could have Anna and Kristoff end the movie as best friends, take out the kiss, and that would not adversly affect the plot of Frozen at all. You could still have Anna try to kiss Kristoff and thinking she loves him and have Kristoff come back because he doesn't trust Hans or sees the storm or whatever, just have them decide at the end not to be together and that wouldn't change the overall plot of the film. The same goes for the shorts too. Take out their romantic relationship and nothing really major changes. Kristoff could still be at the palace just as Anna's best friend rather than her boyfriend. I know that a relationship doesn't have to super impact the plot of every piece of media, but my personal feelings are that if you can cut an explicitly romantic relationship between two main characters and not have anything change, it's really not that interesting. And Kristoff and Anna's just isn't that important. The only places where it is are the sequel and the Once Upon a Time TV show and in those it's treated more as a plot device rather than an actual relationship. Even on most official Frozen merchandise, the two aren't really featured together. Anna is usually with Elsa or just completely by herself while Kristoff is relegated to being with Sven and Olaf. They might have some small romantic moments together but overall the two of them being together really isn't that important to the franchise as a whole. Heck, even the creators of the series have said that they considered breaking them up because their relationship took away from the plot of Anna and Elsa. There's just not that much reason to invest in the two of them being together.
2) We never get a "campfire" moment with them.
We never get a moment to see what it is that would make them feel like they should fall for the other. Take the campfire scene from Tangled. Rapunzel and Eugene talk about their pasts and connect over their hardships in life. Or the scene in Aladdin where Jasmine and Aladdin discuss how they both feel so trapped in life. We never really get a scene like that with Anna and Kristoff. We see scenes of them talking, sure, but we never really get a scene of the two of them kind of connecting the way we might with other couples. The most they ever really get is some minor ship tease before suddenly just deciding they have feelings for the other. And that's especially important since one of the main points of Frozen was not being with someone you just met. The two of them decide to start a romantic relationship after saving Arendelle but in reality really don't know much about each other. Kristoff probably doesn't know much about Anna's life and Anna once again doesn't even know her partner's last name. That's not to say they couldn't have a somewhat good relationship. Just that they kind of rushed into things without really thinking which is somewhat realistic but that could just as easily lead to a break up or at the very least a period where they wonder if they actually want to be together just as much as it might lead to marriage or children. They just don't know each other and that might not help if they want to be together.

I’m so happy we got more family portraits in F2. I’d love to watch them prep for these portraits: awkwardly figuring out how to pose, joking around to pass the time, trying to get Olaf or lil Anna to sit still, etc. My fav part is lil Anna looking up at Elsa - you can easily see how much she loves and admires her older sister.
I was a little on the fence about editing Elsa out of the first pic, but I used a new technique to stitch the portraits together and her head turned into a blurry mess.
I’m fascinated by the conflict Elsa feels as she looks at these portraits. She’s got this amazing family, she’s embraced her powers, she should have everything she needs to be happy... but she still feels unfulfilled. It’s really difficult to admit you’re unhappy when you can’t even pinpoint why you feel unhappy. I’d love to get more insight into Elsa’s thoughts as she navigates those feelings both during F2 and afterward as she explores her new role.
Original quality and alternate crops available on Google Drive.

This picture kind of says it all.
Kristanna in the middle and front: protagonists, main couple, princess/hero pairing.
Helsa in the back: secondary characters, they hold secrets, not-so-obvious couple, villanous princess/ villanous prince pairing.
Fight me.

Why Kristoff is a great partner and character.
There are many great male characters in the Disney canon. The Valiant, Pungent, Reindeer King Kristoff Bjogrman, stands among them as one of the best. Kristoff has something special about him that I feel goes unnoticed by many people, simply because Kristoff is a tri-tagonist in the Frozen Franchise. However, I’m here to tell you that there are things about Kristoff that truly make him shine regardless of his smaller role in the overall story. The franchise was never focused on romantic love, but within Kristoff we see a character that exemplifies what a good romantic partner should be like.
Another long one guys, so under the read more we go!
I’ve seen a few posts try and say that Kristoff’s relationship with Anna is unhealthy. However, I want to offer some viewpoints on why I feel this in not the case. According to the Hall Health Center, A healthy relationship is when two people develop a connection based on:
Mutual Respect/Honesty
Playfulness/Fondness
Trust/Support
Separate Identities
Good Communication
Kristoff is able to show all of this to Anna; while not all at once and at the very moment they meet, he does develop these skills and qualities as his and Anna’s relationship flourishes. It is also stated that all of these things take work, and is not something that just happens immediately, and that is ok. Most of these qualities Kristoff is able to show when we first meet him as adult, while others he develops over time with trial and error. As with Anna and Elsa, Kristoff is not perfect, and needed to learn certain lessons to become a better version of himself.
Mutual Respect/Honesty
It is no secret that Kristoff respects Anna’s boundaries and decisions. While he may not agree with some of them, and is vocal about it, he still doesn’t try to force his views or needs. It is always good to be honest with someone, but to not force their hand or treat them like a child. For example -
During Frozen, Kristoff is very vocal about Anna’s decision to marry Hans. He tells her that, honestly, it is a reckless decision. However, he never tries to force her to break up with or change her mind. He just very clearly states his opinion, but never steps over that boundary to try and make decisions for her. This behavior is shown throughout the film, as Kristoff is able to be honest with her on her decisions, but never tries to stop her or force her hand. The only time he directly tries to stop her, is when Anna is getting ready to throw a snowball at Marshmallow, because it directly affects her safety.
Also during Frozen, Kristoff respects Anna’s boundaries by asking Anna for her consent before kissing. He doesn’t force her into a surprise kiss, he asks her first if they could. This shows how Kristoff respects her bodily autonomy, and recognizes her possible trauma from Hans.
In Frozen 2, Kristoff again shows how he respects her decisions.
“You had to go, and of course its always fine.”
In Lost in the Woods, while Kristoff is having a harder time in this film being honest about his feelings (at first) Kristoff reiterates that he always respects Anna’s choices, never trying to force her to think one way or guilt her.
Playfulness/Fondness
Kristoff adores Anna. That, is obvious. He’s playful with her all throughout Frozen, teasing her without out right insulting her. We also know exactly how he feels about Anna as he expresses his love for her in Frozen 2. He finds Anna -
“Incredible”
“Feisty”
“Brave”
He also mentions how she’s his ‘ginger sweetheart’, suggesting that he likes her hair color (in other words, he finds her beautiful).
Also in Frozen 2, we can clearly see that Kristoff and Anna have a loving,  physical relationship. This is a bit of a wacky point to mention considering that this is a children’s film, but the implications are there so I will talk about it. Anna and Kristoff kiss multiple times with both parties being comfortable, and Anna is ready to have a make out session when Elsa and Olaf fall asleep in the sled. This shows how the two of them have enough fondness of one another to be able to be physical.
Trust/Support
This is a big one, and one of Kristoff’s best qualities. Not only does he support her, as mentioned in the respect section, he shows how he is able to trust her decisions, openly asking her what she needs to do when he rescues her from the rock giants.
“I’m here, what do you need?”
“To get the the dam.”
“You got it!”
Kristoff doesn’t ask her why, he just trusts her judgment. This is clear development from the first film, when he didn’t trust her judgment based on her choice to marry Hans. Then, he gladly helps her up the cliff without a fuss or undermining her strength.
“Help me up.”
“We’ll meet you on the other side.”
His trust for her also grows when he is finally able to come to terms with how he feels. In fact, the scene above demonstrates how when Kristoff finally reflects on his emotions, he is able to be more confident with their relationship and have more trust that Anna knows what she’s doing.
Kristoff also spends both films and short films giving Anna support. In Frozen, while he at first only cares about Anna’s promise to give him a new sled, he starts to show genuine concern for her. He offers to help her down when she (barely) climbs the mountain, runs to her side when she collapses from Elsa’s blast, and tries to keep her warm when carrying her down to Arendelle. Even in Frozen 2, when he’s unsure about the status of their relationship, he still comes to her aide and helps her during the fire attack, and of course comes rushing to help her with the rock giants. In Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, he sees Anna down and wants to cheer her up, and helps Elsa in Frozen Fever throw a party for her, using every inch of his strength to make sure it doesn't get ruined.
Separate Identities
Kristoff is not dependent on Anna. While he loves her and wants to be there for her, he has a separate identity and is able to support himself.  He has a life outside of Anna, including his friendship with Sven, his troll family, and his ice business. He is able to leave Anna’s side, for example in Frozen Fever to drop off the Snowgies, and in Forest of Shadows he leaves to talk to the Trolls.
His self esteem is also not dependent on Anna. He openly wears what he wants, proclaiming that he only dress nice for Anna for as long as he’s comfortable, does strange things like talking to Sven, licking a strange sculpture in Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, compliments his stew in the same film even though Elsa and Anna are visibly disgusted, and never takes Anna’s insults in Frozen to heart.
“Nobody wants to be alone. Except maybe you.”
“(Laughs) I’m not alone.”
He states the last comment without any indication that he is being defensive or is offended by the statement. In fact, it doesn't faze him at all. His worries in Frozen 2 about Anna’s feelings are not about his self-esteem, but rather losing her as a partner. Let me better explain this. Kristoff mentality is not this -
“Anna is the only one who will consider me and if I lose her, I will have no one else. I am nothing without her. ”
It is this -
“Anna has become an important part of my life because of how amazing she is, and I don’t want to lose her.”
Yes, he does claim in Lost in the Woods how -
“Who am I, if I’m not your guy?
Where am I, if we’re not together forever?”
But I firmly believe that this has to do with him letting his fear take over, not so much how he actually feels, which I’ll explain more in a bit. Thus, Kristoff is not scared of losing his relationship with Anna because she makes him feel good about himself, he’s afraid of losing her because he genuinely loves having her around in his life. He loves her as a separate person, not as a crutch.
Good Communication
This is the tricky one, because Kristoff has to develop this skill from trial and error. He doesn't have it already set, however it mostly affects his romantic life. He can pretty much say whatever he wants and what is on his mind to everyone else, and even to Anna before he realizes he loves her.
However, we clearly see that in Frozen 2, Kristoff is having a hard time expressing his desires to Anna. He wants to marry her, he wants to start a family. But what if Anna doesn’t want that? What if they are actually growing apart?
I care about her, but does she care about me?
Because of this fear, he is over explaining and fumbling over his words. Even so much as letting it affect his self-esteem, which he didn’t have a problem with before. As I mentioned many times in other posts, fear is a reoccurring villain in the Frozen Franchise, and it has reared its ugly face in Kristoff’s development as well.
His fear is making him hesitant, clumsy and question his self worth. Even though this really has nothing to do with any sort of dependence on Anna, he is letting his fear make him believe that he needs her to a desperate degree. In fact, he showed in the beginning of the film that he was much more calm about their relationship and had no doubts. It wasn’t until Anna started to focus more on Elsa that he started to grow this irrational fear. It didn’t happen in full blast until he thought Anna left him permanently.
However, after expressing these negative feelings out loud, and not letting them bottle up inside, he was able to see the flaw in his thinking as evident later on. After assisting Anna, he explains that he understands how she felt, and that it didn’t have anything to do with him. As Anna was strong enough to push forward even after losing everything, Kristoff was strong enough to able to put his feelings of self-doubt aside and find the confidence he lost.
“I know, I know, it’s ok. My love is not fragile.”
In just a few words, Kristoff expresses how his love was stronger than his fear, realizing what he already knew: that he is good enough, that him and Anna were fine, and that he was over reacting based on a fragile fear. Then, of course, he is able to tell Anna how he feels without doubt, finally asking her to marry him.
Thus, we know that Kristoff follows the traits of what makes a healthy relationship to a tee. Even though he didn’t have every quality at first, he developed them over time. As every character is flawed in Frozen, and need to make the bad choices first in order to learn, Kristoff needed to experience the same thing to be the best version of himself that he was always capable of.

Matt Cornett recently confirmed in a recent interview that EJ and Val are childhood best friends. I have mention in the past in anon asks on your Tumblr that Portwell parallel Kristanna in some ways. Gina represents Anna. EJ represents Kristoff. Since EJ and Val are childhood friends just like Kristoff and Sven are that means Val will most likely represent the female version of Sven in Portwell love story. In Frozen Sven helps Kristoff realizes he has feelings for Anna. 1/2
EJ and Val will most likely be working together on the musical at summer camp paralleling how Kristoff and Sven worked together delivering ice as a team. Val might be the one that points out that EJ is truly in love with Gina just like how Sven helped Kristoff realized he has feelings for Anna. Personally I am rooting for Val to be the one that points it out to EJ that he is truly in love with Gina because she knows about his past relationship with the girls he has dated at summer camp. 2/2
I'm so sorry for how late this response is anon! 😅 So nice to hear from you again. Lol great comparison about Val and EJ working as a team (to deliver a "high stakes musical") just like Sven and Kristoff working as a team to deliver ice. 😂 I agree that we might just see Val help EJ realize something about himself, such as the fact he really is in love with Gina. I also think Val will help EJ make a decision about his future, considering she's already a college student (so she very well may know what he's going thru, feeling uncertain about life post-high school).😊 Random thought, but since Val is most likely the one casting the show, she might unknowingly put EJ in an uncomfortable position by casting Ricky and Gina as love interests in the musical (as either Hans/Kristoff and Anna). We also learn Val is apparently a Psychology major, so maybe she notices s/t is off with EJ and wants to know what exactly is bothering him. Why he may feel uncomfortable with Gina and Ricky as romantic leads. Perhaps EJ opens up to Val about what happened in S1 with Ricky and Nini (when they also played romantic leads in the musical and ultimately chose each other)😔. Maybe Val helps reassure EJ that his insecurities are clouding his judgment on what's really going on in front of him. His present relationship with Gina won't be a repeat of his past rela with Nini.🤔 I could also be wrong about all this but it's just some thoughts that occured to me right now. 🤷🏽‍♀️

might I talk about Kristoff for a moment? mostly in regards to frozen II. mild spoiler warning.
yes, it is true that I wish they could have given him more character development, rather than simply fawning after Anna the whole time. However, I think it is also an interesting choice, seeing as his role of chasing the lover is most often given to a female character. I appreciate the breaking of gender roles here.
also, I think that they did fairly well with the arc that they did give him. in a series of somewhat comedic failures, he attempts to propose to Anna, but she is too focused on Elsa to properly notice.
but despite the things he accidentally implies to Anna while stumbling over his words (that he doesn't love her, that they will die in the forest), his first instinct is always to protect her. standing on the cliffs, Anna is distressed to hear that if the dam were to break, Arendelle would be lost. he immediately pulls her into a hug, and only tries to propose after Sven's encouragement.
with Ryder (if he didn't have Anna this would be another beautiful gay ship), he creates an extravagant proposal just for her, spending all night working on it. unfortunately, it flops once again due to Anna's loyalty to Elsa. cue lost in the woods!
this song is amazing in so many ways, and not only because I started cackling when I watched it the second time (almost the first time, but I can't laugh in a theater). I love this '80s reminiscent power-ballad. it's absolutely delightful, and just a good song in general. now, as to the content, I find it additionally endearing. as with any love song, he outlines his love for her, but instead of "why won't she love me?" it's "does she still want me, and should I stay?" he is putting her first. with the line, "you had to go, and of course it's always fine" a few things are made clear. it hurts him when she leaves him behind, but he respects and loves her enough to let her do it anyway. and he would let her do it again and again. but when he feels as though she's distancing herself from him, he wonders if it is intentional, and whether or not she still loves him.
he would always follow, but not if she doesn't want him.
then later, at the film's climax, Anna is leading the earth giants to the dam so that the forest might be saved. just before she is crushed under a giant foot, he rushes in to save her, immediately asking her what she needs. and he unquestioningly complies. he knows what will happen if the dam were to fall, but he knows that Anna does as well. he knows the sacrifice that she is making, and he trusts her.
once the dam has broken, everyone is celebrating, gawking at the open sky, reindeer prancing in the open fields. but the dam isn't the only thing to have been fractured. Anna is still suffering from her horrible loss, and can hardly smile at all. I think that this was a very good and hard-hitting choice that the Frozen crew made, and it really outlines the weight of her loss. and who never leaves her side? Kristoff. he is there to support her, giving her a shoulder to lean on. she apologizes for leaving him, as she was trying to protect Elsa. he replies:
"my love isn't fragile."
I love this line so much, and it is undoubtedly one of my favourite lines in any Disney film. so often in media, if someone in a relationship feels hurt by the other, they have a falling out and it ends. sure, they might end up together in the end anyway, but it might still have been unnecessary. often it feels superficial, as though that "true love" could shatter if a problem were to occur in the relationship. it's too perfect. in Frozen II, we see something different. Anna and Kristoff's relationship is strained, but it gets fixed through Kristoff's loyalty to Anna. it feels organic to me. throughout the whole film, he never stops loving her, and is willing to recognize her feelings and do what is best for her. upon seeing her heartbroken after Elsa and Olaf's death, he knows that she needs him more than ever, and unlike Hans, he will never leave her side.
when Elsa finally returns, Anna is naturally overjoyed. after their reunion, Kristoff comes in and hugs Elsa with a full-on Kristoff hug. I think this is another cute moment, as it demonstrates a friendship that, while not really present in the films, has been growing over the past three years. and it isn't often that you see a platonic hug between and man and a woman in Disney.
and of course, at the end, he is willing to go a little ways out of his comfort zone to make Anna happy, dressing up in stiff outfits. even if she "prefer[s him] in leather."
that's my take on Kristoff, I think he is a bit of an underappreciated character in this film, but it is evident that a lot of work went into making each person shine with their own light in Frozen II. even Olaf. maybe I should look at his character arc haha. I'm not an English teacher, so my analysis on this sort of thing might be a bit flawed, but I do enjoy picking them apart how I see fit.
none of this is to throw Anna under the bus either! she is going through a lot of her own things, and I think that her feelings are entirely valid in this story.
as much as I enjoy the idea of a Rydoff ship, I prefer Kristanna.

i heard a theory that kristoff actually began.his crush on anna early in their relationship because of how he acted about hans, ie how judgy he was being. I do think it comes off as jealousy a little bit but what do you think? plus, anna is very pretty so its not a big stretch imo if he was attracted to her early on!
100% yes, i think it starts the moment she throws the carrots at him, you can see his look of intrigue when she walks off, and then even when she’s outside she keeps looking
and he goes real quick from saying “carrots.” to all the bantering and picking at her about hans 😂
if it’s not that early then definitely right after the sled crash when she’s surprised he agrees to go with her and plays it off, he lets out this soft little laugh and rolls his eyes and that’s when you KNOW that 1. he’s a good hearted person deep down and 2. he’s gonna fall for her hard
