I finally got to watch Bhediya after months of waiting, and maaaaan, it was just as good as the reviews said and my own expectations thought!
So dumb at times, and at others, very profound, the environmental message will NEVER be hammered in enough, we need more of this. "No development at the cost of nature", "if there's nature there's progress", THAT'S what I like to hear!
And the movie was gorgeous. The jungle shots, the mountains... The wolves!! The wolves were so well done. The scenes of transformations were seriously badass.
Loved the music too! The songs are good (Apna Bana Le is magical), and the additional soundtrack had a very 80s synth/fantastic nature, I vibe with it.
The duo Varun-Kriti works, even though I would have liked more scenes just the two of them, but heyyy, we might get Varun-Shraddha back in the next Stree movie, and I like Kriti but I am down hard for Shraddha, so, excited! And don't get me started on Varun, just don't. Oof, that man.
Anyway. That was fun.

History of Situational Mutism
have made a post on this before, so have taken some parts of that. but this is more comprehensive. aka long post like looong⚠️
summary:
aphasia voluntaria -> elective mutism (voluntary, refusal, oppositional) -> DSM IV = inability (failure, rather than refusal, to speak).
differential diagnoses: DSM-III = developmental disorders -> IV and IV-TR = speech abnormalities and social anxiety disorder -> DSM-V = communication disorders, social anxiety and psychotic disorders like schizophrenia and autism spectrum disorders.
2013 DSM-V changed it from Childhood disorder to anxiety disorder. it also removes reference to trauma as a possible cause.
DSM IV-TR said SM had slightly more females than males. DSM-V says SM has equal gender distribution.
People thought DSM-V would subsume SM into SAD, but it didn’t due to the uncertainty around the relationship between SM and SAD.
It has since been recognised unofficially as ‘situational’. but this is not enough because ‘mutism’ also ignores how SM can affect all communication.
“It was back in 1877 that a German physician called Adolph Kussmaul used the term ‘aphasia voluntaria’ to describe children who ‘refused’ to speak though they could speak normally. Kussmaul used the term after he reported three clinical cases with similar symptoms (Jainer, Quasim, & Davis, 2001). In 1934, a child psychologist from Switzerland called Mortis Tramer used the term ‘elective mutism’ for the first time to describe ‘a fascinating group of children, whose talking is confined to familiar situations’ (Kolvin, Trowell, Le Couteur, Baharaki, & Morgan, 1997). Going by both the terms, it can be seen that the understanding was of a voluntary act of refusing to speak, which would mean it was an oppositional behavior (Noelle, 2017).
The same understanding is reflected in the diagnostic criteria given by the earlier versions of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM). The third editions of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM-III and DSM-III-R) explained elective mutism in terms of ‘refusal to speak’. This was changed in the fourth edition of DSM, where it was recognized as an inability to speak (Noelle, 2107). The diagnostic criteria given in DSM-III (APA, 1980) talks of ‘continuous refusal to speak in almost all social settings’, while the diagnostic criteria given in DSM-III-R (APA, 1987) updated it to ‘persistent refusal to speak in one or more social settings’. In contrast, after the publication of DSM-IV in 1994, the diagnostic criterion read ‘failure to speak in specific social situations’.
There are other differences between the elective mutism as described in the third editions (DSM-III and DSM-III-R) of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manuals (APA, 1980, 1987) and the selective mutism as described in the subsequent editions, i.e., DSM-IV (APA, 1994), DSM-IV-TR (APA, 2000) and DSM 5 (APA, 2013). Some instances would be the predisposing factors and differential diagnosis.
According to both the third editions of the DSM (APA, 1980; 1987), maternal overprotection, speech disorders, mental retardation and trauma were possible predisposing factors for the onset of selective mutism. These factors were, however, removed in the subsequent editions of the DSM (DSM-IV, DSM-IV-TR & DSM-5). Similarly, the third editions stated that the ‘refusal’ to speak could be differentially diagnosed as developmental disorders, while the later editions (DSM-IV & DSM-IV-TR) list speech abnormalities and social anxiety disorder as differential diagnosis for selective mutism. DSM-5 (APA, 2013) lists a differential diagnosis of communication disorders, social anxiety and psychotic disorders like schizophrenia and autism spectrum disorders.” Source: ‘selective mutism - understanding and management’ by Charu Kriti 🌹🌹
in 2013 the DSM-5 moved SM from the childhood disorders category to the anxiety disorders category. The DSM-5 also drops the reference to trauma as a possible cause of SM, and indicates that SM has equal gender distribution, whereas the DSM-4-TR had indicated slightly more females than males.
People thought the DSM-5 would subsume SM into SAD, but this didn’t happen due to the uncertainty surrounding the relationship between the two disorders. (high comorbidity, some argue SM is an extreme version of SAD; some argue SAD causes SM; others argue vice versa).
people with SM have since recognised it as ‘situational mutism’ to avoid the misunderstanding that sm is ‘selective’ or a choice not to speak; and they consider it an inability to speak in certain situations (people, places, settings). but this name is still not enough in my opinion, because it still focuses on what is considered the biggest problem for OTHER people, rather than for the person. sm is not just mutism (inability to speak); it affects all forms of communication. source: ‘Selective mutism in adults: an exploratory study’ by Carl Sutton. pp 18-19
maybe a better name is communication anxiety disorder or something like that. but then again, it is still not fully accepted as an anxiety disorder; only in official definitions.

Her eyes are searching for someone. kartik's heart drops once he sees the guy walking towards her , smiling . he sees her smiling back . The smle he always imagined shed give him when he says how beautiful she is to him , The smile she'd give him when he gets her flowers and give her a pecks on her cheek before leaving for shooting. "you dont have to call my entire name like that! just call me kartik or koki"kartik ranted out . he could hear his heart beat out of his chest. he could see her blushing
"what are you doing here?"

they both chuckle and walks out kartik puts his glasses and mask back on . he wants to say and ask a lot more but the fact that she has a boyfriend waiting for her stops him. he still muster up the courage to ask her full name but before he could finish they are interrupted by someone. its adi he is still looking down at his phone as he speaks
"i have to go now "
"but we didnt even order yet"

y/n chuckles at kartik's remark and their eyes meet . kartik is so relieved that this man he just punched is no one other than his future brother in law but it really was kind of a bad first impression but he'll make up for it
"y/n ask this guy to leave" adi grunts in pain
"koki ! leave"
"koki? so no more kartik aaryan"
y/n blushed and looked down
"ill get going now bhaiyya do put some ice on it itll be alright"

Gay People vs. Webcomics: The Good, The Bad And The Ugly
This will be a different kind of article thingy. It is Pride Month, so naturally, I feel like I should talk about gay people in webcomics. Yes, I identify as a homosexual (former bisexual) myself, and also gay people have appeared most frequently in these webcomics.
The Good:
There’s a reason I wanted to save this article for late June, it’s because of Burke. While I sadly doubt we’ll ever see followup on his and Sulfur’s relationship, the little amounts we’ve gotten is somehow better than most of the shit in the mainstream. Burke and Sulfur weren’t in an abusive relationship, but their relationship wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. They disagreed with eachother’s philosophies which is why it didn’t work out, but neither of them carry ill will to this day. I liked Burke before but this whole scene turned him into one of my favourite characters in this comic. Burke starts off as rather generic gay guy, he has a crush on Matt and they never openly admit he’s gay, but overtime he not only becomes the most competent member of Matt’s group, he’s also excellent at calling out other people for their shit, like he did with Carson. It’s sad that someone as out of touch with reality as Albert could write a better gay character than any Hollywood writer ever combined.
Thankfully Burke is not the token gay of Albertverse, on the Kit n Kay Boodle side of things we have Squinx and Snowicet. Although they’re the only true gay couple we see in Yiffburg, they’re much more mature than rest of Yiffburg’s manchild population. They do get their own arc where they help Dee Muir to overcome her fear of boinkberries. Rereading that arc, they do both have unique personalities, unfortunately it’s ruined by Squinx putting his dick inside Dee Muir at one point but still, these two are way better than rest of the comic, and the only lesbian couples we see in Yiffburg are Bill Blaine’s rats and even then they’re bisexuals and do nothing besides licking each other’s pussies.
Speaking of lesbians, it’s time to discuss the bad stuff.
The Bad:
When it comes to LGBTQ+ rep, Lesbians are overused, not just in the mainstream but also in webcomics, and there’s a reason I’ve been calling them a webcomic cliche since this blog first started. I’m sure there are well-written lesbian characters but I haven’t run into one yet.
Arguably the most prominent gay couple in this blog are Spinnerette and Mecha Maid, I’ve explained about a hundred times why this couple sucks. Mecha Maid is more of an object for Spinny than a source of affection and it seems Mecha Maid lost all of her personality and ability to criticise Heather after they hooked up permanently. Outside of the times this comic introduces a homophobic villain, this relationship is no big deal. Honestly this couple is the biggest wasted opportunity in this blog’s history, since if Kraw wasn’t a hack we would’ve gotten a really tragic couple whose story we could’ve been invested in. But no, MORE PORN COMICS FEFEFEFEH
Marilyn here is not the only girl after Spinny’s clit, there’s also Sarah Nicole, after being indoctrinated into the homophobic church, we learn she is secretly a repressing lesbian, and in fact she becomes somewhat of a stalker for Heather. This angle of Sarah Nicole servers nothing besides making her another porn comic fodder character. It really is a shame because Heather’s chemistry is Sarah Nicole is way better than her chemistry with Mecha Maid, it’s one of the ONLY times she was actually likable!
But moving on from Spinnerette, it’s time to go into another superhero comic. Tsuki is labeled as a lesbian despite being fucking bisexual, and that shows you how much of a moron Dumok is. She treats Kriti as her “girlfriend” but they’re always fighting and arguing, they only bond because of Llew spanking Tsuki or something. There is some attempt at drama as the villain Bittersweet hates lesbians, but her only response to Tsuki being a lesbian is NOOOOOOOO and then she disappears. While Tsuki is one of the worst characters ever, the fetishist treatment of her lesbianity is expected. What I’m saying is, she could be WAY worse, how worse?
The Ugly:
For a comic that tries to be Mookie’s justice serving Banksy protest piece about the evils of government, sports players, paying customers and Orc Haters, the way it treats the comic’s token gay, Szark, is something right out of homophobe’s playbook. Szark starts as a depraved bisexual, but after his wife who tried to kill him dies, he develops a crush on Deegan. He somehow becomes a ridiculously exaggerated gay guy which is a real shame because his character is otherwise decent. He imagines Luna as a temptress and iirc, he has lewd fantasies about Dominic. But once Dominic pukes, pisses and shits his pants he realizes he no longer loves Dominic. It remains to be seen if he will be improved and become a decent character again, but I doubt it.
At least Szark’s love was never implied to be non-consensual, that is not the case with Bowser from Roommates, whose first action is harassing the hideous creature that is VeERGHmon and then he finds him masturbating in his room, and rapes him. And that’s how they fall in love. Yeah, even if VeERGHmon is a sleep paralysis demon he doesn’t deserve to get raped. This whole comic feels super homophobic in general, even the homophobes are homophobic! Wait...I mean, the treatment of homophobes is based on homophobic assumptions that every person who hates gay people must be secretly gay, look no further than Olly and Mondo. We see Olly in the main comic as a guy who brings a little bit of bigotry into the world where no women seem to exist, after an intense Rapist vs. Bigot fight the duo leaves, but Mondo has a pretty decent apology scene after the whole incident, which paints the duo as troubled individuals...and then an Addendum arrives which reveals Olly and Mondo were gay all along. I can’t remember why these two became homophobes to begin with but I’m sure the reason didn’t match any semblance of reality and psychology that exists. And the worst thing is these characters were actually written by gay people. I don’t think Spelunker Sal and Dreamous are “internalized homophobes” or whatever that stupid buzzword is, I just think they’re out of touch with reality.
And yet, YET, YET, these aren’t the bottom of the barrel when it comes to gay characters. For that we must go outside the radius of this blog, and into the horrible world of SuperSaiyanCrash. Yes, Cora Bandicoot should stand out as an example on how to not do a gay character. Cora is a nudist and a molester, she harasses every single woman she comes across, and there was even a cut scene where she gropes a character without the creator’s consent. She claims to be lesbi-err, lesbain, but she also ends up getting impregnated by Goku (Richie’s selfinsert) and thus raises two children, who also end up becoming lesbians. I don’t go “yikes sweetie this is homophobic” that easily, but I feel this character is so offensive the only way she could be more offensive is if she wore a blackface. Cora’s creator is a homophobe who only hated male gay people but liked lesbians because “they were hot”, which perfectly describes the mindset behind most of these characters. They’re stereotypical and presented as overly sexual characters, which has done lasting damage to gay community.
Thankfully I haven’t run into any “zoomer gay” characters, but that might change in the coming years.

Trends in AI & Generative AI: Insights from The 2023 AI Summit New York
Last week, I covered the AI Summit in New York. I was excited to learn about the trends in AI and generative AI and to see some commercial applications of these new technological advancements.
Patrick Murphy of UAB led the AI Exhibitor hub. Patrick shared insights from his research on Entrepreneurship. He shared how start-ups use AI, and Generative AI to scale up and bring products to market.
Generative AI is being used in the following eight ways:
Content and Asset Generative
Automated Processes
Ideation
Financial Management
Project Design
Optimized Structures
Acceleration and incubation
Ethics and Risk Management.
There was a pitching completion where start-ups did pitches in multiple rounds. At the beginning of the competition, they received advice from judges on best practices.
One of the start-ups that was of interest was Botwise. Jan Nowak shared how his team shared a use case on how they leveraged Language Learning models (LLM)using statistics and GPT solutions for rapid automation in customer service for Mylead.global is a platform that allows influencers to earn money. As a result, MyLead.global was able to screen influencers faster and better for their big brand clients.
AI-Powered Use Cases from across the board panel discussion
Leaders Saira Kazmi Ph. D. (CVS Health), Matthew Blakemore (Creative Industries Council) Taha Mokfi (HelloFresh), Kriti Kohli (Shopify), and Kris Perez (Data Force) share how they use chatbots, improving both the buyer and seller experience using AI. How AI can be used in video games to identify levels of violence and how AI can improve in healthcare and Radiology reducing the amount of time images are read while improving accuracy and detail.
Another interesting Panel was by Tim Delesio CTO of techolution
Tim asked What’s driving the explosive rise of AI all of a Sudden?
The answer is the economics of the labor market.
On the demand side, he cited labor shortages and persistent high inflation.
On the supply side, he cites the rise of ChatGPT and, major scientific and Technological breakthroughs in the past five to seven years.
He shared trends in AI for 2024 that include:
Physical Labor with AI to help deliver small batch sizes with high-precision quality control
Improved customer engagement by providing a new generation of customer service agents using Generative AI
Tim demonstrated some of these trends when he ordered a soda using an AI-powered robotic arm.

The booth had another machine showing how AI can enhance inventory management when items are ordered.
I was amazed to see some AI Tech that techolution brought to the marketplace.
On that note, I saw an AI-powered Kiosk by Graphen where a man ordered his food and paid. This company is using AI to revolutionize all industries.

If you see, now a days movies are being made on mythological stories besides historical issues. Be it Ramayana or Mahabharata, so many TV shows and movies have been made on it that even the viewers are now confused as to what is the real story. Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan starrer ‘Adipurush’ is coming soon. Apart from that, another film is being made, which is called ‘Ramayana’. Now what are some updates related to this, let’s elaborate.
The characters of Rama and Sita are not known in ‘Ramayana’ directed by Nitesh Tiwari and Madhu Mantena, but who will be Ravana is known. According to media reports, Yash has been in talks for the character. The makers hope ‘Rocky Bhai’ will agree. However, nothing has been confirmed yet. Along with this, it is also being said that Ranbir Kapoor may also be given an important role in this.....

Kriti Sanon takes over Dubai during Bhediya promotions in a killer red jumpsuit
The Bhediya team is in Dubai to promote the highly awaited movie. Varun and Kirti visited a talk show in the city for the film's promotion, and last night the Burj Khalifa, the tallest structure in the world, lit up with the Bhediya trailer. Kriti donned a stunning red jumpsuit for the event, and her stylist posted stunning images of her wearing the look on social media.
Actor Kriti Sanon's stylist, Sukriti Grover, took to Instagram to drop pictures of the actor with the caption, "@kritisanon slays in this fiery shade in Dubai." The pictures show Kriti taking over Dubai in a sultry red jumpsuit and serving glamorous poses on a balcony with a backdrop of Burj Khalifa. The star donned the fit to promote Bhediya with Varun Dhawan. The ensemble she donned is from the shelves of the clothing label Safiyaa, and the killer high heels are from Christian Louboutin.
Kriti's crimson red sleeveless jumpsuit comes with a halter neckline, a caped detail on one shoulder extending till the thighs, a self-belt to cinch the waist, a pleated design on the torso, straight fitted wide legs, and a figure-skimming silhouette accentuating her svelte frame.
The Safiyaa website sells Kriti's jumpsuit if you want to add it to your wardrobe. You can purchase the Jaime Crimson Red Jumpsuit for a staggering Rs 1,01,041 (GBP 1,042).
With multiple statement rings and pointed, glittering silver high heels, Kriti completed the look. Kriti opted for a center-parted low ponytail with a few stray hairs, a bold red lip colour, subtle smokey eye shadow, mascara on the lashes, flushed cheeks, darker brows, and precise contouring for her glam looks.
