when anthy and nanami meet in the outside world, they're standing on opposite ends of a crosswalk. anthy sees her and doesn't react. nanami glares at her. when the light turns green, anthy walks looking straight ahead, and nanami starts stomping forward with her fists bunched. and suddenly, they meet in the middle of the street, and nanami gives her a huge hug. they stay like that until the light turns green, and then a little longer to spite the cars.

anthy and nanami will never bring this up again, but what nanami doesn't know is that anthy was meeting with utena at a cafe right across the street. utena was just sitting there, sipping tea, and she casually looks out the window...and spits out half her drink. anthy just shrugs at her when she asks about it, and smiles.

curled in a ball on the couch with a bowl of fruit in your hands, you grimace at the dull throb of pain that ripples through your lower stomach. you’ve been sitting like this for almost an hour, the bowl of fruit goinf room temperature and barely eaten for fear of making the pain worse if you move. your cramps aren’t bad enough for medicine, but it is tempting to take some advil.

sighing, you shift on the couch, your hips feeling stiff from being locked in this position for so long. you wince as pain shoots through your center and that dull ache turns into a full on throb of pain. you can practically feel your muscles contracting. you press on your lower stomach to try and alleviate the pain, but it’s not enough.

you’re in pain, and your stomach growls in hunger. the fruit bowl isn’t enough and you don’t really want it anymore. your phone vibrates on the couch next to you, and you pick it up, delighted to see a text from your boyfriend.

kyungsoo: i’m almost home

the pain gets worse and you rot away on the couch as you wait for him, spread out with your legs hanging over the arm.

the front door opens and you try to sit up but stop yourself when you get a cramp in your pelvis. “y/n, i’m home,” kyungsoo calls. you want to whine at his voice and the fact that you can’t get up, but you don’t.

“in here,” you say. you hear kyungsoo set his keys on the counter and his bag in the hallway. his footsteps get closer until he’s stopped right over you, a small smile on his face. “hi.” you say, looking up at him and outstretching your arms for a hug.

kyungsoo smiles softly at you and leans down to embrace you. you try to meet him halfway but gasp at another cramp. “what’s the matter? are you hurt?” he asks, pulling his head back.

you shake your head. you roll onto your side and scoot back to make room for him, pursing your lips at the ache. kyungsoos brown furrow as he takes a seat, his hand moving to rest on your hip. “no, i have bad cramps,” you say.

“how bad do they hurt?” he asks, rubbing soft circles into your skin. you shrug. “do you need me to get anything? have you taken any medicine?” kyungsoo questions, kissing your forehead.

“no, and no,” you reply. kyungsoo tuts at you and stands up. he goes into the kitchen and rummages around before finding a bottle of ibuprofen, and then gets you a glass of water. kyungsoo comes back over with your medicine, and you sit up against the couch.

you thank him and toss the pills back and take a drink of water. “have you eaten?” he asks, picking up the bowl of fruit and picking at what you didn’t finish. you nod and he raises an eyebrow.

“i had ramen an hour ago,” you reply and he hums, taking a seat next to you. you lean against his side, resting your head on his shoulder.

“is there anything else i can do? do you need me to go to the store for you?” he asks, and you jut your bottom lip out at his kindness and sincerity. you shake your head and he leans down to kiss you (finally), his lips soft against yours.

kyungsoo gently holds onto the side of your face, stroking your cheek lovingly. you pull back and look up at him with pleading eyes. “can you hold me?” you ask. kyungsoo smiles at you, his eyes crinkling at the edges behind his glasses.

“always,” he says, standing up to remove his work shirt, leaving him in just a plain tshirt. he steps out of his shoes and sits back on the couch, opening his legs so you can sit between them. you lie down on his chest, your cheek pressed against his heart.

kyungsoo wraps his arms around and gently digs his fingers into your lower abdomen and starts massaging the area. you let out a small sigh of relief and settle in closer to him, your breathing falling in sync.

he continues massaging your stomach, paying close attention to the sight you let out; whether you’re in pain, or feeling better. “is this helping?” he asks softly.

you nod. “yes. a lot,” you say. he smiles above your head and kisses the crown.

it’s soft touches and cuddles for the rest of the night, even long after the pain no longer bothers you and his legs fall asleep.
