Kukui & Burnet's pet names in Spanish are giving me life
Fun fact: I am learning to speak Spanish! And an unironic method I have of practicing my Spanish comprehension is reading random articles on WikiDex, the largest Spanish Pokémon fan wiki. I was looking at their page for Professor Burnet [named Profesora Pimpinela in the Spanish localization], and I noticed that Kukui and Burnet are a touch more affectionate with each other in the Spanish script than they are in English. So today on Lizzie's Weird Obsessions, let's compare the scripts of the English and Spanish versions of Pokémon Sun and Moon.
The only major differences in their dialogue occur in Burnet´s first scene, when Kukui introduces her to the player at the Dimensional Research Lab. Both versions of the scene open with Kukui calling her a term of endearment - "honey" in English, and "cariño" in Spanish. Her response is where the two scripts differ, though.
In the English version, Burnet simply says, "Oh, hi!" But in the Spanish script she says, "¡Hola, pechoncito! ¡Digo, pichoncito!"
"Pechoncito" is not a real word, which resulted in me being very confused. I ended up making a post on a Spanish learning subreddit asking if anyone had ideas for what this meant. The internet came to the conclusion that Burnet is making a pun on "pecho," meaning chest, possibly as a dig at Kukui for being allergic to shirts. It's difficult to translate into English, but essentially she says "pechoncito," then 'corrects' herself to "pichoncito," a term of endearment that literally means "little pigeon." So she's simultaneously making fun of her husband and calling him a sweet term. "you're a weirdo but you're my weirdo." awwww~
Not only does the Spanish script throw in that random endearing pun, but Kukui's following line is also made more affectionate in the Spanish script. Here's the line in the English versions:
"This here's Professor Burnet. She runs the Dimensional Research Lab, yeah… And she's also my wife!"
The Spanish script adds an extra term of endearment to Kukui's line:
Spanish script: "Mira, esta es la Profesora Pimpinela. Ella dirige el Centro de Investigaciones Dimensionales. No solo eso, además es mi palomita. O sea, mi esposa." Translation: "Look, this is Professor Pimpinela. She runs the Dimensional Investigation Center. Not just that, she's also my darling. In other words, my wife."
The phrasing almost makes it seem like he gets so caught up in how much he loves her that he just says the term of endearment, then realizes that doesn't clarify their relationship to the player and has to go back and say "she's my wife"... my heart...
Also, the specific term of endearment he uses, "palomita," literally means "little dove." Yeah, apparently in the Spanish localization Kukui & Burnet call each other pigeons a lot. I don't know if that's like a Spanish/Hispanic cultural thing or just a them thing. Regardless, still adorable. I demand fanart of them with Pidgey and Pidove immediately
If anyone else knows about them having similar terms of endearment in other languages, please share! These two are adorable and any information about them will make my soul happy!!

something something the lessons they’ve learned up until now thanks to everything they’ve experienced, the special connection with nature (with the tapus, with alola itself), and the bond they (people and pokemon) all share bc they’re always working together and helping one another shaped satoshi in a way no other *region* did

Ngl, since I'm rewatching Pokemon Sun and Moon now, I can't help, but feel stupid, because of how much I didn't want to watch this series at first. And sadly it was, because of the artstyle. I'm gonna say it right now, even tho it's been a while since this season first aired. I'm late. I know that. But Pokemon Sun and Moon is the PERFECT example of "don't judge a book by its cover". I totally understand why people thought and may still think this show's artstyle is a disappointment. Pokemon S&M is happening right after Pokemon XY&Z, a series where everything looks so amazing and the characters not only look more mature, but also act more mature. Meanwhile in S&M, Ash looks much younger, goes to school and acts more "childish". But to be honest? What's wrong with that? When you're watching Pokemon S&M, you see that it has much different vibe than other seasons. Ash isn't really travelling there. He lives in Kukui's house, goes to school and he's just having fun. And here's the important word: fun. It's not that Ash is childish in this series. He's still mature, but he allows himself to just have fun and be a normal kid. After reading some fanfictions, I totally headcanon that the reason Ash came to Alola in the first place was to take a little vacation and heal after what happened in Kalos. Because it was a little weird to see him come to Alola not on his own, but with his mom. Normally when Ash comes home from his adventures, he's ready to go to the next region next day. With Alola it wasn't like that. Alola is a region where Ash could finally rest and have fun being a normal kid. Where he could just hang out with his friends in school and go with them on silly little adventures. Even when there was something serious going on, it didn't have the same impact as in the other series. And even when Ash had to save the world, he wasn't alone. His friends were there with him and they all saved the world as Ultra Guardians. And he found a second home in Kukui's and Burnet's house. Not to mention the father figure he found in Kukui. So what if Ash has a father? What kind of father he is when he literally won't wait for his own son and literally leaves before Ash can even see him? Yup, Kukui is Ash's real dad and that's that. And some would say, oh S&M is just for kids, there's nothing heavy in it. WRONG. It's such a wrong thing to say, because I literally cried on some episodes. Litten's story broke me, Mallow's backstory broke me. There's just so much of difficult topics there. Pokemon Sun and Moon is really amazing. I just feel the need to say it, because I'm still ashamed of how disappointed I was when I first saw the artstyle, even tho artstyle is not everything. And honestly? I'm actually very fond of this artstyle now. I think it's really cute and it fits the Alola's vibe! I'm also protective of this series, because S&M really helped me when I was battling my depression. It's kinda a reminder for me that sometimes it's okay to just stop and take care of yourself. Maybe Ash needed that too! So if you've never watched Pokemon Sun and Moon and maybe left the anime after Pokemon XY&Z, I really encourage to check it out, because in my opinion, it's really worth it!!

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet anime adaption Ash version.
After another adventure with old friends and foiling Team Rocket’s schemes yet again, the young Champion Ash Ketchum gets an invite to visit the illustrious Orange-Grape Academy in the Paldea Region. He is offered a student teaching position to speak of his experiences in Pokémon Battling as well as get offered a chance to compete in the Blueberry League and fight the local Elite Four.
After being seen off by his current traveling companions, who decide to stay in Kanto to surprise visit their little cousin Liko at Indigo Academy, Ash enrolls at Paldea, starting fresh once more with Pikachu at his side.
Team Rocket, overhearing the matter, decide to infiltrate the school disguised as the RAs of Ash’s dorm in an attempt to get Pikachu, and if possible, nab every Pokémon at the facility.
Ash’s students include Nemona, Arven, Penny, and new character Alfie, an exchange student from Galar who looks up to Ash. These two share a big brother-little brother dynamic and form a duo. Completing the trio is Iono, another student teacher and popular streamer of Paldea. She handles the school’s audio visual arts, and helps fund the school with her videos.
Ash quickly finds Champion life isn’t what it’s cracked up to be, as Iono has made it her mission to document the life of the new World Champ, and films him every waking moment no matter what he’s doing, while Nemona is a teacher’s pet, and as a fellow Champion herself, desperately wants Ash to be her rival. While Ash and Iono manage to get along after finding a compromise (as well as being forced to room together), Nemona proves to be the more annoyingly persistent one that even Team Rocket (disguised or not) has had to step in between on occasion. Nemona openly hates Team Rocket, mostly because of how they interfere in her quest to get Ash to be her rival, and her Pawmo has sent them flying off with a single punch more than once.
Ash works under Director Clavell, who in this universe is a little more eccentric and tries to be more openly “with it” to appeal to the children of the academy. He’s not particularly good at it: he seems somewhat stuck in the 90’s, but he means well and is respected, and someone Ash can go to for advice when unable to talk to his father figure Kukui. When Team Star causes trouble on the school grounds, Clavell often turns to Ash and his friends to “set them straight”. Team Rocket form a rivalry with Team Star and find them tacky and annoying. Like with Team Skull, they often clash with a trio of younger grunts that are analogous to Jessie, James and Meowth. There has at least been one clash between them that involved a weaponized Starmobile and weaponized Meowth balloon mecha.
Team Rocket is instructed to take Giovanni’s teenage nephew Lorenzo under their wing to teach him the ropes. He is functionally the Amethio equivalent, only far less rigid but not any less goal oriented. While he finds TR bizarre, he develops a begrudging respect for the trio. He has some deep rooted issues that see him exploited by the Four Disaster Pokémon. He isn’t a permanent fixture of the group and attends the Academy to learn about Paldea and its Pokémon to benefit Team Rocket while Jessie and James scheme to get Pikachu and the school’s Pokémon.
Goh and Gary meanwhile have reunited and form a research team investigating sightings of the Paradox Pokémon. A running gag is they tend to get distracted by other matters, and often miss the Paradox who is standing right behind them, wondering what they’re doing before wandering off. They host segments on Paldean Pokémon at the end of the episode and are occasionally joined by Professor Oak offering his own opinions and comedic timing to the proceedings. It’s stated on occasion Gary has worked with Friede of the Rising Voltekkars in the past on Pokémon research. Later on in the story, Ash’s group and Team Rocket start having their own experiences with the Paradox and Titan Pokemon, leading to a team up with Goh and Gary to get to the bottom of the matter. Ash’s Orthworm is actually a Titan Pokémon that has an addiction to Herba Mystica, and is a little pathetic, but with Ash’s help, it slowly quits the habit and becomes a capable battler. It had a rivalry from fellow Titan, Klawf, that Team Rocket egged on as a means to be able to control a Titan for their purposes, if temporarily.
Some of the visual glitches are used for comedic purposes, like Ash’s Fuecoco falling into a lake, or Team Rocket getting buggy eyed when a situation goes hairy. The creepy stretched out Player avatar is seen as a sculpture in Brassius’s art class as well.
The Paradox/Titan Pokémon and Arven’s plot are the first major story arc, followed up by the Teal Mask DLC and confrontation with the Four Disasters as the second major arc with the Blueberry League and a related final confrontation with Team Star closing out the series. While the Teal Mask DLC is the main focus, Indigo Disk material outside of the Blueberry League is partly dependent on what Horizons does with Terapagos and if Liko and Ash meet canonically at all.
Ash and James are a major part of Arven’s arc, the three bonding over food and shared love of dog Pokémon. (James doubly so because of Greavard and Growlie.) Greavard is also the return of the loving Pokémon that injures James archetype, accidentally draining his life force when it happily pounces on him. It once slept on top of James during the night and almost killed him. It returns life force by giving James a big sloppy lick in the face.
Partner Pokémon (* designates Evolution):
Ash: Pikachu, Fuecoco, Frigibax*, Wattrel*, Orthworm, Primeape*
Alfie: G-Slowpoke*, Quaxly, Toedscool, Eiscue, Fidough*, Chewtle*
Iono: Bellibolt, Porygon*, Toxel*, Sandy Shocks, Jolteon
Jessie: Wobuffet, Scovillain, Lechonk*
James: Tandemaus*, Poltchageist, Greavard
Lorenzo: Maschiff*, Spidops, G-Meowth, Charcadet*
Supporting Pokémon: Miraidon: A Legendary Pokémon Ash befriends. Ash, Alfie, and Arven nurse it back to health during the early Paradox plot, and it becomes loyal to Ash, sticking with him to the end of the adventure. It has a bit of a Speed Buggy type personality and speech impediment, and drives Ash around campus and later to the Kitakami Region.
Bombirdier: A new courier employed at Team Rocket taking over Delibird’s job. It’s strongly suggested it did a hostile take over of the position… Besides Delibird, it also hates Iron Bundle, mistaking it for Delibird. It has a cruel personality and enjoys dropping heavy deliveries on Team Rocket.
Scream Tail: A little weirdo who pesters both factions. Analogous to the original Jigglypuff, and first encountered by Goh’s group. Seems to have found camaraderie in Team Star.
Iron Bundle: Encountered by Goh’s team, but more properly encountered by Team Rocket. It seems to want to help out people, but also doesn’t abide nonsense, blasting people and Pokémon that anger it with its blaster bag. Seems to have found a place at the Academy’s school store. It has a personality and mannerisms similar to Bubo the robot owl from Clash of the Titans.
Tinkaton: The Bewear equivalent that harasses Team Rocket and occasionally Ash’s group. Its primary motivation is to get James’ bottle caps to bling its hammer, and appears in all manner of crazy ways to acquire them. It once led a squad of its own family of Tinkatuffs riding Cyclizars after Team Rocket during the middle of a Pikachu operation to accomplish this. Team Rocket also once made the mistake of piloting a Corviknight mecha in its presence unknowingly….
Gimmighoul: Another weirdo that took residence in Team Rocket’s dorm room and started playing havoc with their finances and that of the school’s. It takes a fancy to James’ bottle caps also, and forms a friendship with Tinkaton. Its various Gimmighoul Coins are scattered around Paldea, with Ash, Iono, Alfie, Meowth and others having found at least one in passing not knowing what it was but kept it. Gimmighoul, after experimenting with James’ bottle caps, manages to collect its G-Coins and evolve into Gholdengo. Iono affectionately nicknames Gimmighoul/Gholdengo “Earl” after a particular video game character she likes. Has mannerisms and speech patterns similar to Digit the Cockroach from An American Tail as Gimmighoul.
Okidogi, Munkidori, Fezandipiti: The mysterious, mildly eccentric Pokémon of the Kitakami Region. They choose Ash, Team Rocket, Alfie and Iono to assist in preventing a coming disaster that threatens Paldea and Kitakami. Ogerpon’s role is pending further DLC information.

Big LONG Horizons Opinion Coming Up
Okay here me out....
In EP 18 Friede said this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Obviously since he's stuck in his 20s where he's more focused on his own career & dream than thinking about a partner/family.
(((*FriedexOrla theorie at the very end)))
He said that he's basically finishes researching everything and is done with his job because nothing new and excited is happening. Basically acting like an old man ready for retirement.
Thanks to Cap he realized that there's still so much to learn so he's back to his old adventurous self because his "inner child" got awakened again.
He's focusing once more on what he wants to do and only that.
For me his personality is ver similar to how I pictured an adult Ash to be.
Grown up, smarter and a bit wiser but still adventurous and reckless because he wants to deal with everything on his own and not having to worry about anyone getting hurt around him.
Ash was the main character and therefore always getting into trouble/adventures and in the end dealing and resolving it by himself (or playing a big part while working together with others).
He was always accompanied and guided by friends, rivals and adult character's throughout the seasons. But he mostly ended up being the hero in the story.
For kids that's exactly the character they want to be. Being the focus in their own little world, being able to do everything they want to, and being good at it while having the time of their lives.
For me too. Growing up with Ash, I always wanted to be the main character because he was strong and cool.
Now that I'm older and we have horizons I first thought that I was gonna say oh man I wish I could be in Liko's spot right now, but no... I wanted to be in Friede's spot helping to guide Liko & others.
And that made me realize that I've indeed grown just like the series did.
For the first time I'm not choosing the main character as my favorite spot to be in, but the older person who supports the younger ones.
Because it's a big part of growing up when you realize that you're no longer a kid because your sweet little world turns serious and you suddenly have to think about so many different things you didn't need to think about before.
Realizing that there are younger one's that get influenced by your actions makes you feel old even when you're basically just exited teen years, shows that we mature over our entire life.
And I think anipoke did an absolutely beautiful transition from the watchers growing up with Ash being the Hero to now seeing Friede teaching/guiding the new Heroes.
Which brings me to my original point about Friede.
He was back adventuring with Charizard living in the present and not caring about what's gonna happen in the future.
Now that he has Liko & Roy & Dot in his crew he's officially in his role as mentor.
We see him being reckless and not telling the crew members important details because he probably thought he could handle it himself.
But as we know, the kids are now in the center of attention regarding all the mysteries they want to discover AND in the eyes of their enemies.
Friede will soon find out that he won't be able to deal with the enemies on his own and protect the kids himself.
He'll teach the kids to become their stronger selves so they can protect themselves and each other, he'll have to guide them to grow on their own.
Just like Mrs. Lukka did with Friede.
And I think that's beautiful to see not only the kids develope, but the adult character's also realizing for the first time that they are responsible for a future generation.
_________________________________________
_________________________________________
Friede X Orla
Now I have to add something extra, obviously my OTP are Friede x Orla.
And returning to the screenshots above, I believe/hope that Friede will find himself a new dream by raising/guiding Liko & the others. So that he'll one day decide to have his own family just like Kukui & Burnet with Ash.
Now imagine Friede and Orla raising kids on the Brave Asagi while showing them there world!! The kids can learn from their parents until their old enough to either move to a school or go on journey as a trainer, and then we'll be having Liko & Roy & Dot as their teachers 🥺😭
Imagine that.....

While I know that videogames might not be everyone's cup of tea, let's just pretend that ALL your characters actually do like playing certain videogames. What kind of games do each of them like the most, and are they any good at it?
This one had me do some real thinkin'... 🤔💭
Guzma:
I think Guzma actually really enjoys playing any kind of co-op game with the grunts, even if he's not really good at them. But the grunts think it's funny when he starts raging at a game and he knows it. As far as games he plays alone in his freetime, I feel he prefers adventure/rpg type of game. He doesn't play a whole lot, but when he does find a game he likes, he plays it obsessively and tries to find every little bit of lore and secrets it has. He also always ends up becoming obsessed with games barely anyone's ever heard of and often he pesters Plumeria to play whatever game that is so he can discuss it with someone. (He also likes chill games and farming simulators like stardew Valley and animal crossing, but he's embarrassed about it and will deny it if asked)
Plumeria:
Plums likes rhythm games and strategy/puzzle based games mainly. It's definitely worth noting that she's, like, INSANELY good at them, too. Long story short, all the grunts know to never to take her bet if it invloves beating her high score. She also really enjoys any kind of game that implements any kind of branching path mechanic, so she's definitely played games like Zero Escape, Hades, and any of the telltale games multiple times.
Leon:
Definitely any kind of resource management game. So stuff like slime rancher, oxygen not included, factorio, terraria, et cetera. He's actually had to self ban himself from playing certain games because he missed too many league meetings literally playing for hours without realizing it. It bums him out because they were super fun, but he knows he can't trust himself.
(Other characters under cut)
Hop:
He likes minecraft and other sandbox games. He likes playing co-op with friends, but when he's at home, he doesn't have a great internet connection.
Moon:
Like the little gremlin she is, she likes horror games. She especially likes making Gladion and Hau play horror games with her. Or rather, not telling them it's a horror game until it's too late
A & B:
B is stellar at platformers. A is the best at fighting games of all the grunts. They are both equally trash at racing games.
Kalani (oc):
When he was much younger, he spent a LOT of time playing FPS. By the end of high school, he kind of got bored with them and played more MMO RPGs.
Molayne:
Mo also like MMO RPGs. He also likes games like Elden Ring and Bloodborn. He has, very discreetly, played a variety of dating sims and, no, no one knows about this but him.
Kukui:
The professor plays a lot of battle royale games. He's also very bad about getting sucked into gotcha games.

Yandere!Pokèmon rankings:
❂) In this post, I will be ranking the yanderes within Pokèmon. Considering the large rooster, it will be edited multiple times as to include the remaining characters. ❂) It will be denoted by a ⭑. There’s five ranks, the first being the least intense whilst the fifth being the most intense. ❂) It will be based on the yandere’s presence in their s/o’s life, the length they will go to obtain their s/o, the danger they impose on others, and their possessiveness regarding their beloved. ❂) Character that have asterisk behind their name, may change ranking later on.
Tw: Yandere themes, Disturbing themes, Obsessive behaviours, Possessive behaviours, Mentions of torture, Implied murder, Stalking, Conditioning, Brainwashing, Implied Stockholm syndrome, Manipulation, Psychological abuse, Power imbalance, Unhealthy relationship, Blackmailing, Corruption, Sadism, Bribery, Criminal activities, Abuse of authority, Violence, Dead dove: do not eat.
⭑⭒⭒⭒⭒~Harmless, albeit uncanny.
Presence:Unnoticed. Possessiveness:Extremely low. Manipulative:Extremely low to none. Danger:Minimal.
Those within this category are slightly delusional, yet mild in nature. You might find some insignificant items missing, like a hair pin or brushes. Perhaps, even finding a sweet love letter and a gift on your nightstand from a secret admirer.
They are working hard behind the scenes to protect and serve their darling in any way they possibly can. And, would do so without inciting violence whatsoever or cause unnecessary bloodshed. They revere their darling and by extension their relatives, so long they aren’t abusive towards their beloved.
Most won’t initiate contact with their darling, and would prefer watching them from a safe distant as not to scare them away. If they did come out, they will wax praises and pamper them. Overall, the best yanderes to get stuck with seeing that they’re the least overbearing and manipulative.

⭑⭑⭒⭒⭒~Supportive, with a wary streak.
Presence:Noticeable, yet somewhat amiable. Possessiveness:Low. Manipulative:Low. Danger:Low.
Unlike the previous category, these yanderes are more involved in their darling’s life. However, it isn’t with a malicious intent as they only seek the best for them. They are confident in their abilities to mask their obsessive tendencies, in hopes of supporting their beloved. All they want for their s/o is success and would ensure it occurs, even if they have to tweak the system in their favour.
Some would feel guilty, but would eventually delude themselves into thinking that is the best course of action. Most within this category, would try and sway their darling from other people if they personally felt their beloved was threatened. Which is almost, if not, always. If they happen to come across as manipulative, they won’t notice owing to how paranoid and/or delusional they are.
However, they refuse to use physical violence in their confrontation with the assailant. The weight of their words alone should be sufficient in getting them out of the picture. For the most part, they are easily manageable so long you don’t push them away too hard. You would still have your personal agency and autonomy intact.

⭑⭑⭑⭒⭒~Danger under the guise of a protecter.
Presence:Overbearingly noticeable. Possessiveness:Medium to high. Manipulative:Medium. Danger:Fluctuating; with a preference to render the opposition defenceless.
Things start to take a turn from this rank and onwards. Yanderes from within this classification would limit their beloved interactions with the external world as much as possible. Mainly due to the nature of their work, or they had previously lost a partner pokémon and would prefer for history not to repeat itself with their beloved. Which makes them seem controlling and rigid in hindsight.
In contrast with the ranks above, they are willing to use violence if they deem it necessary enough to protect their darling. However, they won’t go too far to kill for that goes against their disposition and would cripple their image. In addition of using abusing their respective positions, to keep their s/o alongside them.
Also, they won’t shy away from framing any suspicious individuals for a crime they have not committed for the greater good of their darling. It shouldn’t be that hard considering they hold a significant amount of influence in their regions/organisations. Which would cements them as trustworthy figures. Your personal agency and autonomy starts to dwindle.

⭑⭑⭑⭑⭒~Run, hide, disguise, and repeat.
Presence:Uncomfortably felt, but not seen. Possessiveness:High. Manipulative:High. Danger:Fluctuating.
They resemble the first rank in the manner they conduct themselves, completely blind from the public’s sight. Yet, their motives are wholly different. They are keeping tabs on you, so they could pinpoint your attributes and use it to their advantage later on. It might take months, even years to plan and execute their scheme. But, they are willing to wait for the right opportunity to do so.
They are self-assured that their efforts will not be for nought, because they will make sure of it by any means available to them. Yanderes within this grouping are elusive, deliberate, and pragmatic in their methods of collecting their beloved and aren’t susceptible to attempts of manipulation.
If there are alternatives that will not attract the attention of the Interpol toward themselves, then they will absolutely take it. Rather than resort to an avoidable murder out of abrupt jealousy. They will only kill, if their hands is forced. Granted that, it will be behind the back of their beloved.
They hold their darling in the highest regards, to the point that the yandere will most likely end up worshiping them. That is the main reason on why they start the process of isolating and conditioning you. So, that you can be receptive only to their affection after your “relocation”. Which is not a matter of if, but when. Escaping them is nigh-impossible, as they have vast resources to find you again. It will definitely not end up very well for you, once they do manage to find you.
Your personal agency -at this point- is very restricted, whilst your autonomy is threatened at best. A word of advise to follow is to run, hide, disguise while you can, and better hope that they do not apprehend you.

⭑⭑⭑⭑⭑~ Arceus, have mercy on you.
Presence:Frightening, yet remains hidden to untrained eyes. Possessiveness:Extremely. Manipulative:Extremely. Danger:Do absolutely not engage with them at any point.
Kill, maim, torture, bribery, blackmailing, and all those just to get their darling. Do not be mistaken, despite that they remain strategic and level-headed in their means like the rank above. Yet, what separates them is their modus operandi. They’re far more selfish and crueller. No moral restrains to hold them back.
Some would murder to make an example of the people, who dared to leer their disgusting eyes on their beloved. They would even make so, that the murder are not directly traced back to them. Yanderes within this rank are likely to be lucid, save for few. They are notable for their shrewdness, controlling, sadistic, and machiavellian deception.
Their area of influence is substantial and much feared comparable to the third rank; it slithers down to the offices of politicians. Which gives them the perfect opportunity to offer them this wonderful “proposal”. They either choose to hand over their beloved, or else the blood of their own people will be on their hands. May-haps a humiliating scandal from their past will make them budge, if they were not concerned for the well being of their people.
Before that, they prefer to try their hands on subtler methodologies. Such as offering their beloved to live with them, if accepted then it will make the processes smoother. Otherwise, they will make sure that you throughly regret your choice. They will toy with your fears, dreams, and values until your mind finally crumbles and submit to their will. They will ensure that you can sense them, but be completely helpless against them. (Usually, by sending their underlings to observe you. It is obvious to you, but not to others. Which makes it harder on your part to seek help. The people you’re seeking help from either would accuse you of paranoia or they were bribed not to help you.)
Pleas of help are utterly useless, as they have absolute control in places where only your mind can imagine. Tis but a price for your disobedience, they say. Once you’re in their hold, they will addle your mind. So much, that the only thing left in your head is to venerate them as much as they do to you. After all, they are the only one who you can truly depend on and love. For they have sheltered and took care of you, in your time of need. Your sense of self has been fully compromised.

Moonlilyshipping really is just like. They were strangers but Selene helped Lillie because she is kind and brave. They are tied together now out of a need to protect this weird little Pokemon that Lillie cannot protect herself. Lillie is hiding something but she is so good and sweet and Selene just wants to be by her side. Lillie is hiding something that she is too afraid to face but being with Selene makes her want to be stronger. Lillie needs to confront her monster of a mother and save Nebby and she can only do it with Selene’s help and of course Selene will. They save Nebby and it turns out this is a legendary and it is their friend and it loves them and it will help them. They save Lillie’s mother who is a monster but Lillie remembers a time when she wasn’t. Her mother is grieving and poisoned and in pain and Lillie cannot forgive her for what she’s done but she still shouldn’t be left to die in Ultra Space. Lillie gives Nebby to Selene because she knows Selene will take care of Nebby and give it the adventure it wants. There is a party being thrown in Selene’s honor as the first Champion of Alola but Lillie and Selene  sneak off to steal a few moments to themselves and reflect on all they’ve been through and how much they’ve grown together. Lillie has to leave Alola because if there is any chance for her mother to heal she has to take it, she hates her mother but she loves her mother and she has to know if there’s a chance. She has to say goodbye to Selene and Hau and Gladion and Kukui and Burnet, all these people who she loves and who love her. She has to leave Selene but they irrevocably changed each other’s lives and they don’t know if they will meet again but they will never be the same because of each other

“If he’s still breathing and it hasn’t been more than twelve hours since he switched dimensions, I do not have time for it. And unless the Legendary has actively kidnapped or eaten him, it takes a lower priority than him sorting out his Talonflame and Swellow. I’ve had to replace the windows in my barn twice already since he left!”
Professor Oak is getting a little jaded about Ash’s adventures (chp. 3)
A Professor and a Student by LeDiz (AO3) Pokemon (Anime) – General #Family #Friendship #Learning #Fragments of Life #PTSD #Ash is an interesting case study #Kukui had no idea what he’s in for
Ash seemed determined to stay in Alola, and Kukui had a loft going to waste. He’d boarded students before; he didn’t expect anything special out of the experience. As it turns out, Ash isn’t the only one who’s going to be learning a lot this year.
Snippets and fragments of life during Ash’s stay in Alola.
Part 13 of the The 48: Pokemon series (AO3)
