Servamp chapter 133 translation "One"

Read the chapter on MangaDex!

Oh boy, while this chapter doesn't have as much dialogue like the rest that I have to work on, I had some lines that gave me trouble, like you will see in the TL notes, so please look over them. Translation notes

Although it's trivial and I'll be going over something from an early chapter but hey, you'll see just how bad the English translation is, especially with the early volumes.

Some time ago I asked on Twitter if people recalled the nickname Kuro had for Sakuya, because I had the impression he had one for him in the early chapters, similar to how Kuro calls Misono "kisama-chan", which I translate as little bastard xD Kuro refers to Sakuya as 外ハネ "soto hane" which I translated simply as "curly hair", rather than "flipped hair" which is what you'll see if you google the term. I looked into the anime subs and it was translated as "side flare." I could have used that, but to quote Mahiru, "Simple is best" xD

IIn the official localization of the manga it's not even translated T_T

The 2nd and 3rd panel are poorly translated, like the "grungy" joker part, Kuro just calls him "joker" and that's where he also calls him "soto hane. Oh boy but the last two lines in the 3rd panel are soo bad. What Kuro said originally was "I don't think little bastard and him would get along", to which Mahiru replies "Little bastard...you mean Misono?!" Yeah, so it's quite different. Okay, so let's move on to the other notes I have for this chapter.

Tsubaki's last line had me like "What?" Hopefully I haven't misunderstood it. So, Tsubaki uses the word 貯蔵庫 which means storehouse which sounds weird...The way it's written in Japanese, his line could also be translated as "Put away the "prototype" used for storage", but that doesn't make sense, right? Also, I can't say if it's singular or plural regarding the word prototype. I used the plural only because he said "siblings", cause I think it refers to them. So yeah, it's weird, what does he mean regarding storage? We'll have to see if it's brought up in other chapters.

While most of the characters' abilities have two different readings to them, in this case, the furigana reading which is the intended reading is actually used to show the pronunciation of the kanji.

Tanaka-sensei used different kanji with the same pronunciation to spell the words "shura" that is written as 修羅 and "sousou" (funeral) which is written as 葬送 Shura (or Asura), has been brought up before by Tsubaki, but with another meaning, such as fighting; carnage.

Tsubaki's ability in Japanese is written as 朱羅葬想

修=朱

送=想

So instead of the usual kanji 修羅葬送 (shura sousou) in this case, the first and 4th kanji were replaced like I showed above, both having the same pronunciation and you can't exactly get a translation for the words, so I will just breakdown each kanji to see what they represent.

The first kanji 朱 means "red; vermilion; cinnabar; scarlet". This one is probably used to make a reference to blood in my opinion.

The fourth kanji 想 means "thoughts, emotions, feelings".

So yeah, written like this 朱羅葬想 it can't be translated and the kanji that were used are most likely meant to be representative for Tsubaki. That's my opinion.

He also says the word 迎え (mukae) which means "meeting; greeting; welcome". I can't say how it relates to "shura sousou", but I thought that maybe his ability has styles? Perhaps the "welcome" is one style like from what we see, he makes some kind of barrier and when he's attacked, he vanishes and appears behind Kuro Maybe he has other fighting styles used for close combat.

Oh my God, like maybe it sounds dumb but I legit didn't know how else I could adapt what Kuro says about the counter-attack, because there were hardly any examples of how some of the words in Japanese were used, like one of them was from what I gathered, a term used in sports that translates as "take the field first" and another one basically meant ""going second" and there was another example that basically meant "going second", then there was another word that I only found in a single example...It was awful.

Cleaning the speech bubble was tough and I think it looks decent.

As you might have seen, I added this page again at the end of the chapter on Mangadex to show the other reading of the ability, "Ashes to ashes, dust to dust" because I couldn't add it because there wasn't enough space in the speech bubble. So, when I looked up the word, it was interesting that Wiedergänger share similarities to strigoi from my country's folklore. I think others might have brought this up regarding inner Kuro, but the fact that he uses a stake to pierce himself and uses it as a weapon that takes the form of the thing that was used to kill Kuro, a stake is used to kill a strigoi to keep them in their coffins.

Regarding inner Kuro's last line, the intended reading is "let's talk" but the other reading says "let's fight".

Also, he uses the verb 引��こもる "hikikomoru" and when you make it into a noun, you get hikikomori which is how Kuro is described. I had to chose a word that would fit both character's lines, because I couldn't have inner Kuro says "hey come on, don't be a shut-in", "or "don't seclude yourself from me", it would have sounded weird.

I think it's clever how Tanaka used that specific verb instead of just saying something like "Hey, don't stand so far away" So yeah, hopefully my insights were helpful :)

Three Virgins

Lev and Yaku were your best friends since childhood. You spent your childhood together. What you ate and drank was indistinguishable. You would do every activity together. You went to the same schools from primary school to high school. Even though you went to different universities, your ties never broke.

You were doing various activities at every opportunity. On the weekends, you would either go bowling, play volleyball in the first empty gym you found, or swim in the indoor swimming pool. You had countless fun activities

You would occasionally organize barbecue parties and invite your other friends from university. You were actually having some kind of socializing party under the pretext of a barbecue.

Your friends from college looked up to you and considered you lucky because you were best friends with two guys. Because you always had friends who would support you. They would even protect you when necessary

You would meet at one of your houses every week you were available. This week it was Lev's turn. His family was already out of town. His older sister Alisa also went on holiday with her fiancée. So the house belonged entirely to you. You could be as crazy as you wanted and organize crazy parties among yourselves.

Before going to the meeting, you stopped by the store and bought a bag of junk food, even though you were probably going to watch a movie.

Then you headed to Lev's house. Yaku had arrived before you, and they both welcomed you very warmly when you arrived.

Just as you predicted, you were going to have a movie night that evening. Lev chose one of the most watched horror movies of recent times. It was a genre that all three of you loved

After preparing your snacks and drinks, you sat in front of the television. The movie started to get exciting from the first minutes.

You trembled with fear in some parts of the movie, and you were terribly nervous in others.

All three of you clenched tightly together when you were scared

After the movie ended, you started chatting for the rest of the night, trying to forget your fear a little bit. While chatting, Yaku came up with an idea

"Say what? Shall we play truth or dare?”

"Nice idea!" you confirmed.

It was also suitable for Lev. You found an empty bottle and placed it in the middle. Lev was the first to turn it and it stopped at you.

“Yes y/n-chan. Truth or Dare?"

“Truth” you replied

“So…when you were at Nekoma High, was there anyone on the volleyball team that you found sexy?”

You didn't expect to encounter such a question the first time. Yaku also agreed with you

“Isn't this question a bit quick?” Yaku asked.

“It will be your turn too, Yaku,” said Lev in reply.

Then it continued

“Yes y/n-chan. “We are waiting for your answer.”

“Hmm…well…I guess there was.”

“Who was it?” Lev insisted.

Your face turned to red. You didn't know how to say

“Kuro.”

"I thought you were going to say Kenma," laughed Yaku

“Kenma was cute too, but honestly Kuro is hotter. "I would die for him every time he passed by."

“Look! "If you had told us, we would have tried to adjust Kuro for you," Lev said with a grin.

“Never mind, it was just admiration. It's gone. "Yes, I think it's my turn."

You spun the bottle and it came to Yaku

“Yaku, truth or dare?”

“And I say truth”

“Okay then, have you ever read a porn magazine?”

Yaku's face turned red. Lev let out a loud laugh.

Unlike Lev, you asked a more tactless question.

“Lev! Don't laugh!” said Yaku, hitting Lev on the shoulder with one of the cushions on the floor.

Then he put his hand to the back of his neck and replied shyly:

“Oh…this is so embarrassing but, yes, I read it. "I got it from my cousin's secret stash."

“You're not innocent so much, Yaku,” you said, looking at him suggestively.

“I was a teenager then and such things were a matter of curiosity for me. Is it my turn?

Yaku spun the bottle. He was going to come across one of you and stopped at Lev

“Yes Lev, truth or dare?”

“Since you both said truth, I also say truth for this round.”

"Ok. Hmm let's see…are you a virgin?”

“Yes unfortunately…I came to university and still haven't had sex with anyone”

Yaku snickered. You also expressed your opinion quite boldly.

“Really Lev? I didn't expect that from you"

"Really. I would if I found a sexy girl. “I am an unlucky person.”

Yaku asked you both a question with a daring grin on his face.

“Since the subject has been brought up, let's all be honest. "I'm a virgin too"

"Bull! I am a person who has never even seen a porn magazine in my life, what happened to you?" Lev laughed.

"Believe it or not. "I've never had sex"

Lev then turned to you and asked

“What about you y/n-chan?”

Your face turned red too. If a game of truth or dare was being played, it was common for immoral topics to be brought up. But you didn't expect it to happen this fast

“I am a virgin”

They were both shocked by your answer. Because even though they didn't show it, they found you extremely sexy and were almost sure that you were not a virgin.

"WHAT!" they both said at once

"I mean it" you repeated

“I don't believe it y/n. We didn't expect this from you. You are very beautiful and sexy. "We thought you must have done it with someone," said Yaku.

“Yes,” agreed Lev.

You laughed, "If you say all three of us are virgins"

“Three unfortunates, we come together and console ourselves with obscene questions,” said Lev.

“That's right,” said Yaku.

“Let's continue. Let's see if you can say dare in the second round.” you said and encouraged your friends to continue the game.

It was Lev's turn and he spun the bottle. The bottle stopped at Yaku.

“Yaku, truth or dare?”

"Dare," said Yaku confidently.

“Okay, if you're so confident, cup y/n-chan's breasts.”

"WHAT!" you both said at once.

“But…” you said, feeling embarrassed.

"Word spoken is past recalling" Lev grinned.

"Ugh! Damn!" whined Yaku.

He moved closer to you and shyly grabbed both of your breasts. You suddenly shouted

"Ah! Yaku! “It hurt.”

“I'm sorry,” he said sheepishly, taking his hands off your breasts.

While Lev was watching you, feelings of lust were blooming inside him.

It was Yaku's turn. He spun the bottle and came across you

“Y/n-chan. Truth or Dare?"

“If we are going to call this tour dare, I say dare.”

“Okay…” he said, scratching his hair.

Then he gave a reckless order

“Rub on Lev's lap for 3 minutes. I will keep time. Come on!"

“Oh no! “This is truly a shame.”

Mika is still upset he wasn't included in the Sanrio collab, and angrily sewed plushies the entire day it was announced.

Life is too short to care so much about the public's perception of him, and I feel he'd go in the opposite direction of Tatsumi, and become even more outspoken, which would make him a good Crazy:B candidate.

OreMERU (our HiMERU) and Kaname are going to need to talk. A lot. I think Kaname wouldn't quite forgive him and would be upset about the identity theft, but he also can't bring himself to hate him, as he can see why he did it and knows it's for him. There's a lot of guilt and misunderstanding on both sides (ntm Tatsumi, Jun, and everyone else's reactions), but I think they eventually get through it alright, and OreMERU would always be Kaname's "Onii-chan".

OreMERU is also gonna have an identity crisis, and tries to quit Crazy:B, but of course Rinne, Niki, and Kohaku aren't gonna let him just dip like that. There's a lot of panicking, some bad hairstyle decisions, but he comes out alright, and starts going by another stage name that's important to him in some way.

The college kids/anyone that's been sick or couldn't make their own interviews occasionally join in too (usually Chiaki, Mayoi, Nazuna, Shu, Leo, and Izumi). Rei feels personally attacked sometimes, but its overall fun and way less stressful than trying to make every interview for their own units.

Kuro/Shu/Mao/Izumi dorm have sewing nights. It started because Kuro and Shu already sew, and Izumi wanted to be able to make his own alterations as a model just in case. Mao ended up joining in as a way to de-stress from student council work, and they have a relatively pleasant time together.

so I recently found out that in the Japanese fandom, 9/5 is KuroFai day (9=ku/5=fai) so happy kurofai anniversary everyone

To be fair, they’d never discussed actually getting married before. Weren’t they practically married already? And the longer he looked, the more compelled he felt to buy them, especially when he pictured how happy Fai would be to receive his.

“Are you interested in anything?” The vendor asked when he noticed Kurogane’s staring.

Kurogane nodded and pointed at the two rings. “Yeah. These two.”

“Oh, if you’re interested in a set, I have others that—”

Kurogane shook his head. “These are good.”

The rings, with their opposite colors and designs, were obviously not meant to be worn together. And yet, Kurogane thought that they made the perfect match.

Kurogane found Fai a bit later in the midst of the crowd, his bright hair and tall frame sticking out in the sea of people. He pushed against the tide until he reached the mage, who was standing in line for some kind of drink being sold. Fai beamed when Kurogane filled the space beside him.

“There you are! Where did you wander off to?”

“Just looking around.” Kurogane eyed the new accessory in Fai’s hair; dark metal was twisted intricately to mimic a flower, its petals made up of sparkling rubies similar to the one set in the ring that he had hidden in his pocket.

Fai touched the clip delicately. “What do you think? It's nice, isn't it?”

Kurogane nodded. “It suits you.”

Fai grinned happily and hooked his arms around Kurogane’s, leaning heavily into his side. Kurogane averted his eyes awkwardly, his cheeks warming. The small pouch in his pocket that held the two rings felt heavy and he wondered how he could present them to Fai without feeling like an idiot.

Fai took initiative to order their drinks when they reached the front of the line and they were handed two mugs of steaming cider. It was a bit sweet for Kurogane’s taste, but the alcohol cut through and settled warmly in his gut. Fai practically moaned beside him when he tasted it.

“Will you two lovebirds be joining the celebrations?” The woman behind the booth asked. “You should get to the shrine before the lines get too long!”

Fai laughed and shook his head. “No, we’re just here for the drinks!”

She shrugged, looking mildly disappointed, and moved on to attend to the next customer. Kurogane shoved one hand into his pocket and shifted the rings between his fingers. Maybe now would be a good time to—

“Should we find some food?” Fai asked.

Kurogane released the rings and nodded. “Sure.”

They finished their drinks and squeezed through the people crowding the booth. Fai led the way down the street, each step taking them closer to the shrine that towered over the other buildings and glowed from the paper lanterns hanging all around it.

“It looks nice,” Fai said as he looked towards it as well. “I bet Syaoran-kun is down there taking all sorts of notes, don't you think?”

“Should we take a look?” Kurogane asked suddenly.

Fai glanced up at him and lifted a brow in question. “We were going to get food.”

“We can come back,” Kurogane told him. “It might get too crowded later if we wait.”

Fai looked at Kurogane inquisitively but nodded along. “Okay, sure.”

Kurogane grabbed Fai’s wrist to lead him towards the shrine, which earned him a surprised exclamation from the blond. As they walked, he loosened his grip and slid his hand down until it was holding Fai’s; he laced their fingers together. When he glanced back at Fai, he saw that Fai was staring down at their interlocked hands with a deepening blush reddening his cheeks.

Up close, the shrine was a beautiful piece of architecture. It wasn’t exactly the same as what Kurogane was used to in Nihon, but there were some similar elements in the shape of the roof and some of the intricate designs painted on its ceilings. There was a long line leading into its doors, all couples waiting eagerly for their turn to be wed.

“It reminds me a bit of Nihon,” Fai pondered as he looked up at the tall building. Something in Kurogane’s chest warmed from knowing that Fai was also thinking about Nihon.

Kurogane swallowed. They were near the end of the line. It would be easy to step right into it and let themselves be ushered through the wedding hall.

“Do you…?” Was all Kurogane managed to say before his throat closed up awkwardly. He felt betrayed by his own nerves.

Fai looked at him curiously and tilted his head. “Hm? What was that, Kuro-sama?”

Kurogane cleared his throat and nodded towards the line. “Do you want to?”

Fai blinked at him, eyes the same color as the sapphire on the ring big and shining under the warm lanterns. “...Huh?”

Kurogane’s heart was pounding and his face was getting warm and he could feel people looking at them—it probably wasn’t typical for couples to come all the way to the shrine without already making the decision to get married. The proposal happening right in front of its doors was abnormal enough to draw attention to the two of them.

“You said we should give it a try,” Kurogane said stiffly.

Fai’s brows furrowed and he frowned, confused and looking a little hurt by Kurogane's apparently sudden shift. “I—I was just joking and besides—you said it was tacky.”

“I think all weddings are at least a little tacky,” Kurogane clarified. He took a step closer to Fai and lowered his voice so no one else could overhear him. “But getting married to you isn’t.”

Fai’s eyes opened wide with wonder as a pink blush spread across his nose and even to the tips of his ears. He gulped and ducked his head, glancing shyly at the many people around them; he didn't usually have any qualms about public displays of affection if he was the one doing it, but if Kurogane was the one being affectionate, well that was something entirely different. That was something that was usually private and hidden behind locked doors for only him to know.

“Y-You can’t just… say things like that…” he murmured while shaking his head. “You never said that you—we don’t even have any rings or—”

Kurogane dug into his pocket and pulled the little pouch out. He tipped it into his palm, revealing the pair, and Fai’s jaw fell in shock. He lifted his gaze to Kurogane’s.

“Are you… really asking me to marry you right now?”

Kurogane shrugged. “Technically you asked first. I was just an idiot and didn't give the right answer.”

Fai hesitantly reached out to the rings in Kurogane’s palm. He went to take the silver one, but Kurogane shook his head and gave him the darker one instead. Fai turned it to examine it at different angles, watching the way the ruby reflected the light, before he slipped it onto his ring finger; it was a perfect fit.

He returned his gaze to Kurogane and shook his head in quiet awe. “I don’t understand… I thought—”

“I know.” Kurogane nodded. “You thought I didn't wanna get married at all. But I always thought we’d get married, idiot. Just figured we’d wait ‘til we were in Nihon, not some random world. But I guess I should’ve told you that.”

Fai huffed out an exasperated laugh and nodded. “Yeah, you probably should have.” He looked down at the ring on his finger. “But… maybe I should have asked, too.”

“We don’t have to wait,” Kurogane continued. “We can get married right now if you want to.”

“You’d give up getting married in your home?”

Kurogane thought it over for a moment and a sudden epiphany popped into his head. “I mean… there’s no rule saying we can’t get married here and in Nihon.”

Fai blinked. “Oh… yes, I suppose you’re right…” And then his entire face brightened with a smile, beaming with love and excitement. “We could get married in every world if we wanted to.”

Kurogane’s face softened into a smile undetectable to nearly everyone except for Fai, who could read him like a book. “Sure, if you want.”

Fai looked about ready to burst. He took Kurogane’s hand and yanked him towards the end of the line.

“Then, let’s start the count!”

When they met Syaoran later that night as they were leaving the festival, he noticed the rings but didn’t comment on them. Mokona, however, began teasing the two of them by singing a song about wedding bells and walking down the aisle, bouncing around the three of them now that they were away from the crowds and she didn't need to hide. Kurogane squished her in his palm to get her to stop.

“We’re sorry you weren’t there,” Fai told Syaoran as Mokona squeaked for mercy.

The boy shook his head; he didn’t look very offended at having not been involved in his surrogate parents’ wedding. If anything, he looked oddly satisfied.

“I’m just happy it finally happened,” he said as he looked between the two of them.

Kurogane glanced at Fai; maybe he was right and it really did make Syaoran feel better for them to be—

“I won the bet I made with Touya. He thought it would take you guys way longer.”

Fai and Kurogane’s jaws dropped at Syaoran’s confession. The kid just smiled innocently at the two of them.

“That…” Kurogane began.

“...bastard!” Fai finished as he rushed towards Syaoran. “Why did he think it would take us so long?! Let’s call Sakura-chan, I want to ask him what he meant by that right now!”

Syaoran just laughed as Fai shook him by his shoulders. Kurogane walked over to them and put a hand on Fai’s shoulder to calm him down. Fai pouted at him and Kurogane shrugged.

“Let’s just try to go to Clow. We can get married there and prove him wrong ourselves.”

Fai’s eyes lit up with mischievous glee. “Oh, I like that idea.”

“Um, getting married isn’t a competition, you know,” Syaoran chimed in.

“It became one the second you made that bet!” Fai cried, returning his attention back to Syaoran. “Syaoran-kun, how could you?!”

Syaoran held his hands up in surrender. “I just knew he was wrong,” he told them. “I knew you guys wouldn’t be able to wait much longer. But now the next time we visit, he has to be nice to me the whole time.”

“Seems like a pretty good trade,” Kurogane mumbled.

Fai sighed, resigned, and wrapped one arm around Syaoran’s shoulders and hooked the other through Kurogane’s elbow to lead them towards their rented home. “Fine, fine. But we’re going to get married in every single world we land in until we get to Clow so we can prove him extra, extra wrong!”

“Mokona wants to be the Flower-Mokona!”

“All you’ll be is the food at the reception.”

“Wah! Kuro-daddy is so violent! Fai-mommy should get a divorce!”

Fai laughed along with Mokona and Kurogane’s banter and leaned slightly into Kurogane’s side.

“Sorry,” he said as he looked up at his husband. “He’s stuck with me now.”

Keito: Hello Nito. Kiryu and I were just talking about the upcoming Chocolat Fes.

Kuro: Apparently they're gonna be holdin' it at ES this year too. Wouldn't hurt to be prepared.

Nazuna: I get it. These days it's been pretty hectic at ES because of the Chocolat Fes.

Nazuna: Since you guys are discussing it, that must mean AKATSUKI has plans to participate, right?

Keito: Yes, something like that. We won't be doing anything large-scale though. We have big plans lined up for after Chocolat Fes.

Keito: Additionally, I heard that Kanzaki is going to participate in the Yumenosaki Chocolat Fes.

Keito: If he were to participate in the ES event on top of all that, it would be exhaustive.

Keito: On that note, what is Ra*bits planning to do? Most of your members are enrolled in the academy after all.

Nazuna: Ah, Tomo-chin and the others are going to be participating in the Yumenosaki Chocolat Fes too.

Kuro: Haha, I'm glad that those guys are gettin' along well like usual.

Nazuna: Yup~ ♪ But well, I don't want to push an unreasonable load onto Tomo-chin and the others.

Nazuna: So basically, just like AKATSUKI, Ra*bits won't be doing anything too huge on the ES side.

Kuro: I see. So I guess that us graduated lot are gonna be able to spend this years Chocolat Fes peacefully.

Keito: It feels odd, being able to relax at this time of year.

Nazuna: Ahaha, right~? All I remember is being super busy making chocolate.

Keito: …Making chocolate, huh? I can't say I have any memory of doing that myself.

Nazuna: Huh? Really?

Keito: During my time at the academy, being a member of the Student Council meant that I was more involved in the operational aspect of Chocolat Fes.

Keito: So in my case, all I remember is being perpetually busy dealing with all the trouble that would crop up at the academy.

Nazuna: Hmm? But didn't AKATSUKI perform? There were rumors about it…

Keito: I erased that part from my memories…

Kuro: Haha, cause danna must've been pretty embarrassed. Back then, AKATSUKI gave a sexy performance that was pretty far out from our usual.

Kuro: Danna did the 'Bakyuun~' thing completely seriously and was writhin' in agony after the live show.

Nazuna: What do you mean!? I'd want to see that!

Keito: Don't say anything unnecessary, Kiryu! Seriously, you're just incorrigible…

Kuro: My bad. Well, danna was right when he said he was mostly busy with his lessons and planning.

Kuro: He was so busy that we ended up outsourcin' our chocolate to a vendor.

Keito: Yes. Though, I've always wanted to make my own chocolate at least once.

Kuro: In that case, why don't ya try it this year? Ya said it just now, that you'd be able to take things easy this year after all.

Nazuna: What Kuro-chin said. If you don't know how to make them, I can help too. ♪

Keito: ... Right. This could be a good opportunity to learn. Firstly, I'll have to buy a recipe book—

Souma: HASUMI-DONO! Is Hasumi-dono here!?

Nazuna: Owah!? You surprised me! What's wrong, Souma-chin? Mitsuru-chin, you too?

Mitsuru: Nii-chan! It's a good thing you're here too! I needed to ask you something really badly!

Kuro: What's gotten into ya, Kanzaki, Tenma?

Souma & Mitsuru: Why is it that wagashi are not included in 'Barentainsu'!? / Why aren't wagashi a part of Valentines!?

Kuro & Nazuna: … What?

Keito: Sigh… It turns out that it wasn't anything as pressing as I had anticipated.

Keito: First of all, both of you need to calm down. If you make such a ruckus, it'll disturb everyone else in the office.

Souma: Oh, that is true. That was rather inconsiderate. Do forgive me.

Mitsuru: I'm sorry. But I felt super bad for the wagashi and I wanna help them as fast as I can!

Keito: I really have no idea what you're on about. What happened and why? You need to explain things properly.

Souma: Yes. Actually, a few days prior, the owner of the wagashi shop that the Kanzaki clan favors confided to us.

Souma: Since the main character of 'Barentainsu' is undoubtedly 'chocoraito', it is inevitable that the sales of wagashi declines during this period.

Nazuna: Now that you mention it, when you think of Valentines, the image of traditional sweets like those hardly comes to mind.

Souma: The decline in sales is in itself not an issue, as the shop owner is able to make a recovery in profit during other periods of time.

Souma: However, they expressed a sadness that wagashi could not be the main attraction of 'Barentainsu'

Nazuna: I get it now. So Mitsuru-chin heard about it from Souma-chin?

Mitsuru: Mhm. I felt real sad when I heard about it from Souchan-Senpai.

Mitsuru: I mean, wagashi are yummy, but they aren't the main focus of Valentines day, right? I feel so sorry for them…

Kuro: I see. So you're thinkin' somethin' like, "those poor sweets", huh?

Mitsuru: But I dunno know how I would even make wagashi into the main attraction…

Mitsuru: That's why I told Souchan-Senpai to ask Nii-chan and Hasumi-Senpai for help.

Souma: Indeed. I immediately determined that Hasumi-dono, who has led us of AKATSUKI through many a tribulation, would surely be able to bestow an appropriate plan to us.

Keito: I'm honored that you think so highly of me, but I'm not reliable when it comes to culinary matters.

Keito: Since Kiryu usually cooks, he would probably have some good ideas…

Kuro: I'm kinda in the same boat here. I have some experience makin' sweets, but I only know how to bake simple confectionaries.

Kuro: Actually, wouldn't you know more about this than us, Kanzaki? You're probably better at makin' sweets than me.

Souma: Hmm. However, I haven't a clue as to what sort of Wagashi would be suitable to be the main 'Barentainsu' attraction.

Souma: Therefore, I determined that the most dependable person would be Hasumi-dono, who has both insight and a deep understanding of such things…

Keito: I would like to do something about this too, but…

Mitsuru: What do you think, Nii-chan? If you know a good way to do it, please tell us!

Nazuna: M-me? It's not like I'm a good cook either, though.

Nazuna: I'm sorry Mitsuru-chin. I can't help you out…

Mitsuru: No, it's okay. I know I asked you to do something hard.

Souma: Umu. My apologies to you as well, Hasumi-dono, Kiryu-dono. I so abruptly asked for advice on an unreasonable matter and inconvenienced you.

Souma: We shall excuse ourselves now. Hmm? What seems to be the matter?

Mitsuru: Uu, I still wanna make wagashi the main character of Valentines day somehow…
