kuroo stood in front of you, draped in sunlight that shone from the nearby window, his eyes focused on nobody except you.

class was yet to start, and students filtered in through the door while you thought of something to say back to him. you’d just mentioned a beautiful quote, and you had no idea how to discuss its magnitude.

there was also another thing.

the truth was, you were still getting used to dating him.

it was a new concept seeing him smiling and knowing that he was thinking about something that you’d said. it was new to know that when he lingered at the door of your classroom just a little longer, it was so he could catch you on his way out. it was new knowing that when he texted it wasn’t for some company to pass time.

it was for you.

he’d mentioned this to you nights ago, a deep discussion involving every small thing you did that had him plummeting towards a simple conclusion: he liked you. a lot. more than he’d ever imagined he’d like anyone.

and how could you do anything but like him back? his goofy jokes, his easy demeanor, his gentle smiles. all those small things he noticed — your small habits, the things you liked, the color pens you tended to use most.

he cared so deeply and always offered to do anything he could to help you. he was sweet, charming.

him and his stupidly beautiful grin weighed on your mind more than you cared to admit.

so you told him so. you told him the way a touch from him had your hands tingling.

before practices have officially started, he’s completely unavailable and does not care for what anyone has to say to him

but then he sees you walking in and he’s got an earbud out or his headphones are pushed to the side immediately <3

kuroo notices this after some time and teased him about it, “oh? you never make an effort to listen to anything I have to say if you have your headphones on. does she mean that much to you?”

Sakusa notices when you buy drinks, specifically ones that need straws, like from a coffee stand, that you always take the wrapper off except for the very top part, as if you are being cautious that he might not want you to touch where he’ll be drinking from.

Atsumu notices when you cry, your eyelashes look so beautiful as they frame your eyes, and the warmth in your cheeks seems to fade hours later when you’re feeling better. He notices your sniffles, and how hard you try to cover them up, turning your face away as if you’re looking for something.

Iwazumi notices that when you cant keep still, you always find something to fiddle with. You especially seem to find a pen or pencil, and twirl it through your fingers. He notices the furrow in your brows every so often when the writing utensil falls from your hands and you try again.

Daichi notices that you hardly ever untie your shoes. By now your shoes are a little beat up, not entirely covered in dirt but enough to make the colors seem a little dull. The backs have scuff marks from all the times that you’ve slipped them off instead of trying to fumble with the laces.

Ushijima notices when you’re getting mad, how you take a deep breath in, chest rising with the action. How you tend to squeeze your eyes shut for a moment, before releasing the air, trying to clear your mind and shoo away the emotions. He notices when you purse your lips and clench your jaw, holding back what could be a scorching remark.

Bokuto notices that when you’re happy, you always start with a smaller smile, and your eyes get soft. You never seem to know what to do with your hands, unless you’re taking his own hands and intertwining your fingers together, or throwing your arms around him for a hug.

Kuroo notices when your social battery starts to run low, how you always seem to find a way to distract yourself. Playing on your phone, spacing off and staring at something small. You tend to bring yourself back to reality, bringing your eyes to his and give a silent plea, asking to be taken home, but you never want to say it out loud, and risk hurting anyone else’s feelings.

Aone notices that when you first wake up in the mornings, your eyes open halfway, and you have to blink a few times. You always roll over into your side to look at him, before slowly sitting up, stifling a large yawn. You never seem able to form words in the mornings, and instead choose to sit silently as you process the unfortunate news that is waking up.

Kuroo likes dragging you out of your comfort zone. He will force you to do things with him or just make you come to the thing he’s doing to get you to do things with him. He normally doesn’t care if you keep to yourself when you are at the things he’s dragged you too, he's just happy to see you out of your own little habitat and socializing, kinda. 

You’re both nerds. Kuroo is just a nerd in a different way than you are. That doesn’t mean you can't convince him to play a few rounds of your favorite game with you. He's never any good though. You’d think being Kenma’s friend for so long that he’d get at least decent at a few games but he's really hopeless. 

Kuroo did introduce you to Kenma. And you hit it off quite well, but no one but the two of you could tell. You and Kenma are the type of friends that just sit silently together and do your own thing, and there is nothing wrong with that, but to the outside eye it can seem like you two don’t like each other that much. 

You had always felt comfortable around Kuroo. More so than you do with most people, and he is thankful to see you so comfortable around him. He likes that you trust him enough to open up around him. He also does realize that being quiet and keeping to yourself is just how you are though, so he doesn’t ever try to push you TOO hard to open up or do something too far out of your comfort zone. 

He will call you a nerd as a term of endearment. Any chance he gets he's calling you a nerd, it's his favorite pet name for you and you simply have to accept your fate. He will talk to his friends about how you're HIS nerd, so that's gotta count for something.

A/n: there's a headcannon thats how the boys react when you faint in front of them, by @haikyuu-philia but every time I glance at it, I think it says fart instead of faint. And then I thought how would they react if they fart. Anyways, this might break my writers block.

Tsum tsum: he would trap you under the blanket and laugh. Those siblings tendencies never die.

Hinata: would crop dust you, 100% and just go on with his day. It's a normal body function and he wouldn't think twice

Bokuto: would turn away from you and fart, his sister taught him its not nice to fart on others. On the plus side, he always says excuse me.

Daichi: absolutely embarrassed. Like he knows it's normal, but he's embarrassed. Red face, refuses to meet your eye.

Sugawara: farts on you and then looks you in the eye and says "we're close now."

Kita: I was going to say he never farts, but you know what, he has the stinkiest farts of them all. He tries not to do it around others, but you know they sometimes slip out. He does have the decency to excuse himself though.

Kuroo: runs to the bathroom anytime he has to fart. Refuses to fart around others.

Oikawa: has the loudest farts right after he wakes up, but other than that he doesn't fart.

Matsukawa: does that thing where he farts and cups it, and puts on someone. He does it to his siblings a lot, and they GAG.

Honestly SO pissed we only got three chapters of BJ with Kei Kisaragi in it, one of which he doesn't physically appear and the other is a dream sequence. There's so much stuff about him to explore.

Him being a trans man in the 70s, how he expresses that and the danger that could come with it especially as he travels to places that could be safe and accepting, then immediately to dangerous areas where he might have to hide. Shit was already extremely hard for trans women, but trans men were practically unheard of to most people and barely got attention.

We know he's been to places like the Philippines from a throwaway line in The Sea Smells of Romance, what does Kei think of it? Does he have a favorite place he's been to outside Japan?

Kei is infertile from uterine cancer, even if he doesn't want kids this could be painful or traumatic knowing he had the option forcefully taken from him. Is he jealous seeing Kuroo with Pinoko? Perhaps one time when they were together, Kei dreamed of starting a family with his lover, and now seeing Kuroo has his own daughter made Kei feel... Empty and unwanted.

Going back to The Sea Smells of Romance, that unnamed sailor was pretty close to Kei, and looked up to him like family before developing a crush. Did Kei know the boy saw him as a woman? Did it make him uncomfortable? Even so, Kei seemed to care for the young man, saw the kind for boy he was under his mean delinquent exterior and wanted him to remove his tattoos so he could work a safe job and be successful. Maybe he saw him as the kid he'd never have? So... when the boy died, did Kuroo ever tell Kei!? Or let him live on cluess to the harsh truth? If Kei knows, it must hurt so much, may even have caused him to spiral into horrible depression. Would Kei ever get the chance to grieve properly?

I The SI Called Life, Kuroo is dreaming about Kei saying "I'm quite happy I quit being a woman." I'd love to believe it's true, but how did Kuroo know this? Did Kei tell him in a letter or call? Or is Kuroo just making assumptions? Despite that, Kuroo still calls Kei his old name- "Megumi" Is Kuroo ashamed of longing for someone who is now a man? Is he simply unwilling to accept changes and move on, wanting to live in their past despite subconsciously knowing Kei is happier now as he is?

"I never stopped loving you."

Kuroo is reassuring himself Kei will always love him, no matter what. That no matter how much time passes, no matter how they both change, no matter how much distance between the couple they'll still care for each other.

Do they send letters or call or set up another meeting? Is it impossible because Kuroo doesn't know where Kei is at any given time? Or perhaps, they feel they're not ready to have another shot at romance, it's over to them?
