Random Haikyuu Prompts that I need the motivation to write

Atsumu carries your stuff, unprompted. Literally will not let you carry so much as a sheet of paper if he's around. It makes him feel needed, useful, even in some small way, to the person he loves.

Your mom doesn’t know any of the people there which is why she said no.” Tsukki is once again rubbing circles into someone’s back.

“There are so many bad people in the world and we just want to make you a little safer.” She turns back to face him, she scoots closer to her dad so she can hug him.

“I’m sorry.” She says through sniffles. “I’m not the one you need to apologize to.” She nods, “I need a minute.” He strokes her hair as she finishes letting it all out.

“I told your mother you can go if I chaperone you.” He explains after she’s calmed down.

The café was in its typical morning lull when you came in. After the coffee rush of the business crowd and students on their way to class there were now only a few people seated comfortably around the small round tables, chatting idly and enjoying a piece of quiet in the hustle of a new Monday. This was your favorite time of the day. The early spring sun was shining happily through the large front windows, making the dark wooden walls appear as if dipped in honey. The smell of freshly brewed coffee mixing with the soothing scent of cookies, all amidst the faint sound of traffic humming underneath the soft clanking of spoons gave you a deep sense of calm.

After the daily round of hellos and how-are-yous, you put on your black apron and got to work in the kitchen, starting on the preparations for lunch.

“Manager?”, an hour later as you just put the finishing touches on a batch of orange drizzle muffins, one of your baristas poked his head through the door and gave you a look. You sighed and joined him in the front by the cash register. Sure enough the tall man waited for you, a wide grin across his handsome face.

“No.”, you told him before he even got the chance to say anything.

“And good morning to you, too.”

“No.”, you said again, beginning to prepare his usual order of simple green tea.

“Just one cup of coffee, we don’t even have to leave the premises.”

“400 yen, please.”

He counted out a small stack of coins on the counter and crossed his arms.

“Where is your cheer squad today?”, you asked, referring to his usual companions of a broad guy with spiky gray hair and a smaller one whose smile rivaled the sun in brightness. Needlessly supervising the last drops of hot water in the to-go cup, you made sure to add the exact amount of tea leaves to a little bag, just so you didn't have to look at him and his ridiculously confident smirk.

“Eh, I think they got tired of you rejecting me.”

“Interesting, any chance that’ll happen to you, too?”

“Sure, I’ll stop”, he slid over to where you were finishing up his order and lowered his voice, “when you stop blushing whenever I ask you out.”

He accepted his order with a wink. “Thank you. See you tomorrow.”

When the door closed behind him, you found your barista leaning against a counter with a cocked eyebrow.

“That makes seven!”, he announced, pointing to a small blackboard on the back wall where you usually wrote down the groceries needed that week. In the lower left hand corner he and the rest of the staff had begun to keep a tally of how often the guy had asked you out so far.

Seven times in three weeks. You smiled against your better judgment. You knew not to take him too seriously. Knew it was just a game to him. When he came in for the first time you had almost dropped a mug, because how could someone look this casually seductive?!

It wasn’t that you didn’t have the urge to say Yes just for the hell of it. But you weren't in the mood to be a short-lived plaything for a guy who probably only thought chubbies were easy. And thus began a regular routine of rejecting him. You didn’t know whether you actually wanted him to stop or if saying No to him had just become a reflex. A wise one probably.

Kuroo groaned and gently hit his head against his desk. Of course the thought that he might be an actual creep for asking you out so much had occurred to him but when he made his initial attempt, you had said Yes at first before immediately changing your answer to No. How on earth could he prove to you that he wasn‘t kidding when he told you that you were on his mind all day? Your smile, your voice, your exceptionally squishable body all brought new amounts of cute-aggression into his life.

At this point he was running out of options. Maybe… maybe he should just wait until you approached him instead - if you ever would, that was. He needed a new idea.

And so, one misguided day, he listened in on the gossip of his coworkers who talked about what mundane things they found attractive in a guy. And that’s how we got here:

Kuroo sat at a large four seater table in the corner of your café. Papers were strewn about, magazines lay open for references. He had loosened his tie and opened the top two buttons of his crisp white shirt; his reading glasses were pushed back onto his nose in regular intervals. It was warmer today. So warm that he had discarded his jacket and rolled up his sleeves, wristwatch glinting in the soft glow of the afternoon sun. He gave a little frown and absentmindedly bit his bottom lip as he consulted one of the articles, sometimes silently mouthing along to paragraphs he read, twirling the pen in his long fingers. He lifted a page to read the next, making a note on a separate sheet, the muscles in his forearm taut while he wrote.

He looked up at nowhere in particular, then closed his eyes and stretched his tired neck, the open shirt tightening around his broad shoulders, the line of his jaw highlighted by the golden light beaming through the large windows…

"Sir.", a waitress stepped professionally to the table, a towel neatly tucked in the waist cord of her apron, hands politely folded in front of her stomach.

"Yes?"

"The manager isn’t here today."

His cheeks started to burn, "Why- I mean… what?"

"And while we do appreciate what you do for the ambiance", a subtle gesture pointed out the girls, women and the barista staring, some even holding up their phone camera, giggling behind their hands, "this isn’t a library, so please order something or free the table."

"…O-of course."

Omg please sign me up!! I wanna go to the beach so bad, it's been forever, but ANYWAY,

Going to the beach with Tetsu is so fun :') He'll be down to do whatever you want, whether that's going in the water or just sitting on a towel soaking up the sun & reading a book. He'll probably eventually convince you to build a sand castle with him and he gets so into it, like too into it, Tetsu this isn't civil engineering please-

But at the end of the day when the sun is setting you'd better believe he's dragging you down to the water so you can walk along the shore with the waves lapping over your toes, and he grabs your hand & laces his fingers with yours, and when he looks over at you he's just a little bit awestruck bc the setting sun is playing across your face and you just look so warm and content and happy he wants to take a moment to soak this in so he can remember it forever. He pulls you in and kisses you like he means it bc sometimes, he actually can be romantic. (5 minutes later he leans down and scoops up water to splash you and it's all over for him)

FALLING ASLEEP ON HQ BOYS

IWAIZUMI: accidentally sleeping during your car ride with him and he’ll quietly make his way to where you are on the passenger seat, carefully tucking his arms under your knees and back to carry you inside your abode without any intention of waking you up.

KAGEYAMA: falling asleep on his lap when he needs to get up, but he chooses not to simply because he doesn’t want to wake you from your sleep.

KITA: falling asleep on him halfway through the movie and when you wake up the next day, you notice you’re laid down on the couch with a pillow under your head, a blanket draped over your figure, and the delicious scent of your favorite breakfast reaching through your nostrils.

USHIJIMA: it was those times where you were extremely tired from work, going home and immediately succumbing yourself to the soft sheets of the mattress. your boyfriend happen to notice your tired state, seeing as you’ve already drifted to sleep. without further doubt, he takes responsibility of removing your makeup, changing you in your pajamas, and properly tucking you in bed without the intention of waking you.

AKAASHI: softly reading a book to you as you fall asleep halfway through the story with his hand holding yours.

BOKUTO: accidentally falling asleep on him in the living room and when you wake up you’re laid down on the mattress in your shared bedroom with a blanket covering your body and the scenery of him beside you with his strong arms around your figure.

SUNA: falling asleep with your head on his lap while he’s being occupied with something such as having a conversation with someone, watching a movie, scrolling through his phone, etc. as he’s stroking and playing with your hair.

KUROO: comes home to you sleeping on the couch as a smile forms upon his face. he takes his position next to the couch, sitting on the floor while his hand finds yours, intertwining them as he pulls your hand near his face where he lets his lips linger against the softness of your skin, and he looks you with an affectionate gaze, finding ease under your peaceful state.

SUGAWARA: hums out a low and lulling tune as you both lay in bed, his body positioning sideways with his cheek resting against his fist, gazing upon your sleeping figure longingly.

HINATA: falling asleep to him babbling about his day during the late hour of the night—and when he sees your closed eyelids as he speaks in the middle of his sentence, he quickly silences himself, letting out a tiny smile and using his arms to encircle your figure to pull you closer to him as he snuggles himself against you.

KENMA: falling asleep as you sit on his lap while he’s in the middle of playing and he turns down the volume of the game, the sound of buttons tapping now gentler and more silent as soon as he notices your slow and steady breaths from his shoulder.

TSUKISHIMA: he stays up late at night completing his assignment/s with one hand as you sleep on the bed right next to his desk with his other hand intertwined with yours.

you were working on your computer, busy with something else than him, and he didn’t like that

the man was clingy and he loved attention

he disappeared without you realizing it, and it almost hurt his feelings, but he had another idea in his mind

the only thing that got you out of your work was the sudden music playing in the living room of your apartment

you finally left your computer to follow the music, and you saw Bokuto waiting for you with a proud smile on his face

“here you are!” he’s happy, you can tell it by the huge smile on his lips

he grabbed your hand and before you could say anything, you were against his chest

it had been raining for hours now, and you were tired of waiting for it to stop

you were working at the library with your boyfriend, Kuroo, who was focused on what he was writing

you were looking through the window, almost hypnotized by the rain pouring outside

Kuroo noticed you, and he looked up from his book to look at you

a soft smile on his lips, he grabbed your chin to make you look at him

“I’m keeping you entertained” a proud smile appeared on his lips and you punched his arm softly

you were exhausted because of your exams, as you were spending all your free time studying for it

and Daichi noticed it

as the amazing boyfriend he was, he couldn’t let you do that without helping you in any way possible

he told you to join him at the gymnase after your class, pretexting an emergency that he couldn’t say anywhere else in public

you entered the gymnase which was completely dark, searching for your boyfriend who wasn’t answering your calls

suddenly, the lights were on and you saw the “emergency” he was talking about previously

Daichi was standing there, a bunch of flowers between his hands and a huge smile on his lips

“Daichi, what is that?” you couldn’t process what was happening

“you need to relax, and I’m gonna help you” he put the flowers on the bench and came closer to you, grabbing your hands to leave a kiss on each

he made you do a spin, before he brought you closer to him

“just let go, okay?” you nodded at his words, resting your head against his shoulder

you closed your eyes and started to follow his moves as he started to slowly dancing with you between his arms

Ushijima Wakatoshi

he was focus on his training, as always

nothing was more important for him than volleyball

well almost nothing, because you were here

you were waiting for him on the bench, scrolling on your phone, being as bored as ever

you sighed loudly, trying to get your boyfriend’s attention ; and it worked

Ushijima turned around to look at you, the ball between his hands

“what?” he asked, tilting his head to the side

“I’m bored! Do something with me!”

he didn’t know what he was supposed to say

he never had been good with this, so he simply looked at you without saying anything

you suddenly started to play a song on your phone, putting it on the bench right next to where you were previously sitting

“dance with me” you said with a huge smile, and Ushijima looked at you in disbelief

he didn't know how to dance, what was he supposed to do?

you grabbed his hand and brought him to the middle of the court

he wasn’t really good at that, but if it made you happy, he was ready to try

nothing was more important than volleyball, except you

he’s jealous- “what were you and hinata talking about?” he asked, his voice sounding innocent. but his hand tightened on your thigh just a bit.

your his coworker- “let me help you” he went behind you, his body pressing against your back, one arm grabbing the item, other grazing your hip.

he hit you w a ball- “are you okay? I’m sorry hehhhh, I didn’t see where I was landing my spike” he extended his hand out to you, sheepishly.

he can fix you- “you’ve been running from love your whole life. give me one chance and I promise that I can make the pain better” he had your hands in his, looking with pleading eyes.

he got sick- …it was a sad moment for the karasuno team. shoyo got sick in the middle of a game and their team had lost the chance to win nationals. he may only be a first year and he will have more chances to win but he wanted to with this year really bad.

kenma kozume:

streaming wars- you and him are friends, having a little rivalry when it comes to being liked in the gaming community. only for views, not really hating each other.

rivals- as soon as Kenma met you he despised you. he couldn't stand you, all he wanted was to sit in peace. usually he doesn't mind being around loud people but you... he never wanted to be around you.

he hates brats- right now you two were getting ready to record, you whined the whole time as he was fixing the camera. he rolled his eyes. he put his hand over your mouth, other gripping your hair tightly. “can you just shut the hell up?”

cat hybrid- walking along the streets at night it was pouring rain. you sighed, walking in the rain, forgetting your umbrella at work. while walking you hear something. “meow”
