We don’t talk enough about how it took just a little over a year for Ozai to realize he wanted a replacement for Zuko.
Meanwhile, Hakoda and Kya needed only three months to decide they wanted a sequel to Sokka.
—————————————————————————
Ozai: I would like to make a return.
Ursa: Do you have a receipt?
Ozai: I do not. The Fire Sages lost the placenta after I specifically asked them not to.
Ursa: Gross.
Ursa: Also, you can’t return our son.
Ozai: Why not? He didn’t come as advertised. Zuko hasn’t shown any signs of firebending yet. Just crying and pooping and eating and sleeping.
Ursa: That’s not my problem. Or his. Besides, he’s a baby. That’s basically all they do.
Ozai: Alright. Can I swap him for a different baby, then?
Ursa: No.
Ozai: Can I swap him for a different baby without telling you?
Ursa: You can try. But no.
Ozai: Can I get a discount on the next baby?
Ursa:
Ursa: ...sure.
—————————————————————————
Kya: I love our baby so much. He’s just so happy and expressive and adorable and I cherish every moment I have with him. Thank you for helping me bring this wonderful little person into the world.

Oh Almighty Dilf Lord share your thoughts about Kyakoda + Kya topping
*puts on reading glasses, lights pipe, and sits back in leather armchair near the fireplace*
Well, kiddo, if you ask me, there may not be a more underappreciated ship in ATLA than Kyakoda. Yes, in canon there’s a whole lot of implicit angst, and there isn’t too much for fic writers to work with. But since when does this fandom care about canon??? 😤 Or need lots of material to write a minor character??? If you ask me, ‘Kya Lives’ AUs are so underdone, and I love modern AUs which feature Kyakoda! I mean, doesn’t it just sell itself?? We’re talking about a ship with Hakoda, whose name appears under the dictionary definition for Daddy, and Kya, who…hey, ya know what, let’s talk about Kya actually! 😏
For original watchers of the show, Katara was pretty easy material for a cartoon character crush. But now that the fandom is older…well, it would make some sense for us to give her mom some attention too, huh? 😝 And she’s more than just an aged-up carbon copy of Katara—we’re talking about the woman who raised the Meat and Sarcasm Guy himself! If you ask me, all that sass and eccentricity and corny humor is something Sokka shared with his mom, which makes her character sooooooo much more fun! 🤌 Kya’s banter with Hakoda has to be top-tier—he laughs at her awful puns, she teases him about his hyper-methodical planning, and the shenanigans they get into are absolutely legendary, as both kids and adults. 🙌
[Not-very-SFW below the cut]
And speaking of shenanigans…let’s not forget that Sokka and Katara were born one year apart. Their parents had back-to-back babies, so I think Kyakoda’s friskiness speaks for itself. 😎 I mean, is it all that shocking, though? How else are they supposed to spend those cold South Pole winters? That’s months huddled up indoors together…which makes for plenty of time to get…creative. 😉
I tend to bounce back and forth between sub!Kya and dom!Kya—but I always imagine her as a tease. 😛 Whether it’s in the middle of an important meeting with SWT elders or just in the middle of the night, her hands tend to find their way into Hakoda’s pants—and after eating greasy seal jerky during dinner, she is very deliberate in the way she licks her fingers clean. It’s partly because she loves getting a rise out of her chief, and partly because she doesn’t exactly mind the mild ‘punishment’ that follows when they’re alone again. On principle, Hakoda is against serious corporeal punishment…but if his wife is being a little bratty and wants a gentle spanking while he takes her from behind, who is he to deny her? 😜
When Kya is on top, though, she prefers to make sure the chief keeps his hands to himself. Could he snap the leather ties that she uses to bind his wrists if he really wanted to? For sure, but after a long day hunting or fishing or doing Miscellaneous Chief Things, he’s a bit tired, and Kya has a relatively easy time enforcing her “look-don’t-touch” policy while she rides him. He’s the leader of the village with oodles of responsibility, so making him helpless enough that he can’t even touch his wife’s boobs is actually surprisingly cathartic. On the occasions when Kya’s really feeling in charge, she’ll bind his wrists and use her mouth to edge him, and she knows his body well enough to drag it out for about as long as she wants. And when he’s done, she’ll just park her booty right on that ruggedly handsome face of his so he can return the favor.
As for their other kinks, I totally hc that they’d be into body worship. Life in the South Pole may be rough, but that also means they’re in solid shape, too. After Hakoda shows up in the doorway just in time to whack Yon Rha and save his wife, he spends that night going over every inch of her skin.
And this isn’t a kink, exactly, but the “Tui and La Position,” exclusive to the Water Tribe (before Sokka introduces it to Kyoshi Island), is something Kyakoda would definitely love to do. Look at those two koi fish and how they’re swimming together, and you’ll realize what position I’m talking about. 😏 It’s not a bad way to keep quiet by keeping your mouth busy when you’re living in a small, close-knit village.
That’s all the rambling I have for you today!! Thank you so much for the ask—and I hope you enjoyed the answer!! 😉

Just wondering, what ships are you comfortable for drawing NSFW art of? Can we request NSFW for any ships?
Hi,
So im literally new at this whole NSFW thing and probably wont be drawing anything too explicit (especially on tumblr). Plus I'm not posting art until september so if any requests do come in I will be ignoring them.
That being said the ships I am comfortable drawing NSFW are kyakoda and suzukki or some mix or Suki sokka and Zuko. This is literally because they all have adult art of them now. So in the comics they're all around 18 and over and while I hate their designs there are even older references of all 3 of them with the new movie and LOK.
Outside of atla I'm happy to dip my toes into shadowhunters and bbc Merlin.
We will see.

Joy, All I Want For Christmas Is You is just an absolute masterpiece, and I’m gonna reread it from the beginning as soon as the last chapter comes out. 🤩 Naturally, I love it as a Sukka stan and a Zutara enjoyer—but as I’ve commented before, it’s your characterization of Kya that steals the show in this fic. She’s funny and forward and just completes the Water Family dynamic, if you ask me. 🤌
And since such colorful depictions of Kya are so rare, I really want to pick your brain on some of your headcanons for her, specifically in a modern AU. 🤔I’ll take any and all thoughts you have! How did she and Hakoda meet? Where does she work? Is she more of a jeans&sneakers mom or a skirt&heels mom? Does she care about being a Cool Trendy Fun Mom (TM)? What’s the worst time she’s embraced her kids in public? How does she like to spend quality time with her family? And with Hakoda, Sokka, and Katara individually? (By no means do I expect you to answer all those questions!!! They’re just there in case you want specific prompts! 😊)
I’m planning on sending you a not-so-SFW follow-up ask, but you know I won’t object if you happen to include a few smutty details… 😏
Boomie you are the sweetest 💛
Honestly writing about their family dynamic is so fun and tempting me to continue it in more fics! It’s interesting to explore Kya’s character and her dynamics with her fam. I am very, very tempted…
I’d like to think that Hakoda and Kya were high school sweethearts. They got married young and had babies young. I think she would have liked to be a stay-at-home Mom, for a little bit anyways. Then maybe move on to odd jobs and skip around. Librarian, barista, waitress, just something for her to pass the time. Hakoda would bring in the big bucks to support his family; it may be a little old-fashioned but it works for them. They end up being the cool, hip parents, though they don’t try to be. They’re very invested in their kids’ lives and are super supportive of everything that they try. They go to all the soccer games, the debates, the math bowl, the swim meets. Their house is the most fun for slumber parties.
I think Kya herself would be more of a down-to-earth and gentle spirit. Although she won’t hesitate to tease the hell out of you. She’d wear flowy dresses and sandals and never be in a hurry. She’d be incredibly encouraging to her kiddos and help them figure out their emotions and goals and morals. They love their mom and don’t really mind if she’s touchy in public, though Sokka will complain if she starts kissing his cheeks in front of his friends.
Well that’s all I got for now but there’s certainly a water tribe family centric fic circling my brain now… A high school AU would be so fun.

Katara, we can safely say (given the fact that the fandom often seems to implicitly age her up by several years), is pretty hot. And where is our evidence that older Katara is hot?
Her mom, Kya. If we go by Water Tribe marriage customs, it’s entirely possible that Kya married Hakoda at 16 and popped out Sokka and Katara at 17 and 18, making her just 32 at the time of the show.
So keeping that in mind, do you have any crack pairings, smutty headcanons, anything steamy related to Katara’s hot mom? Would she be up for a threesome with Hakoda and Ursa? If her husband was out of the picture, who could you see her with? Is there an AU where Kya gets captured (but escapes and can’t return for some reason) and somehow Sokka and Katara end up a half-sibling like Zuko and Azula have with Kiyi?
Alright so first off anon, thank you so much for this ask. It is the wildest thing to ever appear in my inbox has absolutely made my day.
I'll be honest, before this I really had not given Kya much thought beyond 1. She is a milf and 2. I headcanon her as chieftess and then Hakoda took over as chief after her death. But now that you've asked...
I could definitely see Kya as being bi. I don't know about a threesome (or a relationship in general) with Ursa only because in a Zutara endgame, it'd get pretty awkward really quickly. I do however see her and Hakoda having a pretty serious long-term relationship with Bato.
(Because Kya has alllllll the game, she would realize Bato and Hakoda were into each other ages before they did, and while at first she thought it was cute, she finally got tired of waiting for them to get their stuff together and intentionally got them drunk one night and that's how that started.)
Gotta say I don't see Kya moving on quickly if something happened to Hakoda. IF, and that's a big if, she really knew he was gone, a fun crack pairing would be her and Jun.
So for a "Kya is taken prisoner and not killed" AU I don't think she'd have another kid because 1. See above about her not moving on and 2. Even if she somehow was told Hakoda was dead, if she did move on I think she'd be very careful to not have a kid because she wouldn't want to risk losing them the ways she was torn from Sokka and Katara.
(There's a lot of potential for angst in that AU and as anyone knows angst is not really my schtick so that's all I've got for it.)
So to sum up, I don't really spend a lot of time thinking about Kya's potential sex life but it would be, to quote Ron Swanson, epic and private.

Your Urzai art is soooooooo freaking good 🤩 (and, in a few of your more recent pieces, hot af 🥵)! The AUs they’re set in with Phoenix Queen Ursa are 🤌 too!
Since you do the Fire Nation’s premier MILF and DILF such justice, would you ever consider drawing Hakoda and Kya? 🤔 There’s hardly any art out there for them, and definitely nothing on the spicy side. 😏 You’re really creative with your AUs, so I assume it’d have to be set in one where Kya is still hot, but very much alive? 😅
Anyway, Hakoda looked fantastic in your latest piece, so I thought I’d throw this idea out if you’re interested!
Thank you!! I really appreciate your comment! On that note, I made the Phoenix Queen Ursa AUs because I'm generally a fan of Ursa being more dominant/the boss in their relationship; someone to keep Ozai in his place...Agni knows he needs it.
Would I ever consider drawing Hakoda and Kya? Well, yes.@the-messenger-hawk introduced me to the idea of shipping the fire & water parents all together and had a few nice headcanons about them, which in turn made me more curious about Hakoda & Kya too. Everyone always ships the fire & water siblings but I'm just more interested in their parents. I had vague ideas for drawing a series with them, like individual ships (like Kya&Hakoda and Hakoda&Ozai or Ursa), or in throuples. (Tbf, I'm a multi-shipper and it doesn't take a lot to get me into new ships with Ozai lol) I'm aware not many people are genuinely into ships involving Ozai generally, but it's just funny to me, especially in this case. I like to think that while Ursa probably built a certain level of tolerance and immunity to Ozai's bullshit throughout their marriage, neither Hakoda nor Kya would give him as much leeway. They'd give him some much needed lessons in humility.
Back to the topic, I always perceived Hakoda & Kya's marriage to get much more (positive) attention and fan art on Tumblr than Urzai tbh... unless you're specifically referring to spicy stuff 🤔. Though there's generally not a lot of content for either pair compared to what their kids have lol. Anyway, I'm usually generous in AUs and also very liberal with discarding canon, so Kya can very much get to live too; I'm generally open to suggestions. Alternatively, you can also commission me; that's arguably the best and fastest way to a Hakoda/Kya drawing (or any other preference)!

evermore chapter 52: everything ends
Prompt 31: not meant to be
Pairing: Kyakoda (Kya x Hakoda
///
Hakoda sat in the front row beneath the wedding altar as he watched his daughter exchange vows with the Fire Lord. There was a lump in his throat and tears burning in his eyes, and although they were mostly happy, there was a pang of melancholy in his chest, too.
He could still remember like it was yesterday when he and Kya had gone through the marriage rituals of their tribe. He could remember the words they spoke, and the gifts they gave—carved beads for their hair, made by their own hands, the symbol of their marriage. The tribespeople had danced and prayed to the spirits for a long and bountiful marriage.
The marriage had been bountiful—they had two beautiful children and so much love shared between them—but it had been cut tragically short. Hakoda had thought they had a lifetime. He had been wrong.

Hakoda: Running a tribe is a lot of work, but that’ll all change when my children arrive. 😁
Kya: So...you already have kids? 🥲
Hakoda: Not yet, but I was hoping you could help me with that. 😏
Kya: You want me to marry you??? 😄
Hakoda: Well that’s a bit sudden, but alright! 😉

Can't help but think Kyakoda is the kind of couple that in a modern AU would unironically join a nudist colony. Just let it all hang out there in a super chill and happy way, ya know? Anyway curious your thoughts.
Thank you for the ask, anon! 😝 Tbh you had me cracking up at first but the more I thought about this, the more I could actually see where you’re coming from. 🧐
Both in-universe and in modern AUs, I tend to think of Kyakoda as being childhood sweethearts—or very platonic childhood friends who gradually start pining for each other until the tension explodes like a powder keg. They grow up in a tiny town, get married right out of high school maybe because they have a little ‘happy accident,’ i.e. Sokka, and hectically juggle work, college, and family through their twenties and early-to-mid thirties. Stressful and demanding? Definitely. But it’s also the kind of simple, wholesome life that they both really want with each other—and it’s sublimely rewarding.
Regardless, Kyakoda find themselves as empty-nesters before they’re forty. And while helping Katara settle in for her first year of college (Sokka is already a sophomore), they start thinking…now what?? ☹️ Wtf are we supposed to do without our babies? Are we officially old and useless? But after spending some time walking around campus and remembering what it’s like to have that kind of radical freedom during which Kya gets invited to six different frat parties and Hakoda is swarmed by an entire sorority, they realize that they’ve still got a lot going for them. 😎
On the way home, they make a list of all the things they want to do and all the places they want to see. There’s no real reason for them to live permanently at the South Pole anymore (or maybe Alaska in a real-world modern AU), so they decide to go for a change of climate and a change of pace…
As Kyakoda soon learns, Sun’s Out Buns Out Naturalist Community on Ember Island is both of those things. It’s surprisingly chill and casual, and they find that sliding into the whole go-with-the-flow atmosphere comes easily to them. The rules are helpful and not very difficult to follow, all things considered—although at first, they do get chastised for not-so-sneakily checking each other out. Kya tries to argue that she should be able to ogle a handsome beefcake so long as said beefcake is her husband, but the community charter says otherwise. Generally, though, they fit in just fine. The freedom—physical and otherwise—is a breath of fresh air, and their pre-nudist-colony jobs (Kya as a nurse, Hakoda as a contractor) lend themselves well to the practical work they do around the ‘naturalist community.’
But most of the time, they’re just hanging loose and enjoying life. 😉 In the mornings, Kya lays a towel out on the sand and reads, buns bare under the sun, while Hakoda lies beside her and whittles Cool Water Tribe Stuff (TM) out of pieces of driftwood. Some evenings, Kya attends a thrice-weekly beachside yoga class to keep herself in shape, and on the off-nights she joins Hakoda on a run, then ‘supervises’ his nightly workout (usually by sitting on his back while he does pushups and getting herself bench-pressed and deadlifted in place of his barbell and weights).
Sun’s Out Buns Out isn’t a destination for swingers, but Kyakoda still makes friends and attends little parties, just letting everything hang free all the time. They answer their door and tend their garden and talk with neighbors about the weather, content with being free and open. Sometimes they miss the snow back home, but when it’s drizzling, they like to head outside and walk along the beach, letting the water run over their skin—and if no one’s looking, they’ll hide under a palm tree and completely break the community’s very strict ‘no PDA’ rule. 😏
I really appreciate you introducing me to nudist!Kyakoda, anon!! 😄😆 And I loved answering this ask—you’re welcome in my inbox anytime! ☺️ Thanks again!!!

How did Hakoda and Kya discover their mommy/daddy kinks?
-Bazongas Fan
Ah, Bazongas Fan—I can tell that you and I are already going to be very good friends. 😂
Thank you for another ask that is honestly making me think! 🤔 Think in a good way? Maybe…maybe not. 😅 But you’re still making me think!
Enjoy this ficlet chronicling how a couple of grown adults accidentally discovered the daddy kink!
“Something wrong, sweetie?”
Hakoda didn’t need his wife to tell him as much. The fact that she’d been home from the clinic for a full forty-five minutes without taking off her heels was evidence enough that something was bothering her.
“No, I don’t think so. Well…ummmm…maybe? Actually…yes. There’s definitely something wrong.”
“Did another patient ask you to measure their dick?”
“Oh no! Not that, thank Tui…it’s not work related at all, actually.” Kya sat beside him on the couch and wrapped her arms around her middle. “It’s about Sokka…and Suki. When they were visiting last week, I was passing by the laundry room, and I, uh…I overheard them…”
Letting his newspaper droop closed, Hakoda tossed it onto the ottoman and gave her his full attention. But his wife just kept chewing on her bottom lip, her brow furrowed as she tried to decide how best to continue. “So…you overheard them playing Pai Sho? Eating seal jerky? Having a tickle fight?”
“You know what I’m talking about, mister!” Kya spat, jabbing his chest with her finger. “Don’t tease me! I didn’t mean to hear any of it! But I did, and…”
Hakoda raised an eyebrow and clasped his hands on his knee. “Spare me the details. Actually, spare me everything, if you don’t mind.”
“Don’t worry, I’m not going to describe it to you,” Kya groaned, rolling her eyes, “There was just this thing that Suki said…something that I didn’t expect a girl with, you know, two mothers to say.”
Hakoda grimaced. He wasn’t sure what Kyoshi and Rangi could possibly have to do with this, but he didn’t want to know—for his sake and theirs. “This conversation just became a lot more confusing…and, frankly, a lot more uncomfortable. Honestly, it might be best if we decide to forget about—”
“She was calling him ‘Daddy.’”
“Oh. Wow. Okay.”
“Yeah.”
“That’s weird.”
“I know.”
“Sokka isn’t her dad.”
“Yeah, I know. That’s why it’s weird.”
“Suki even doesn’t have a dad.”
“Glad we’re on the same page, sweetie.”
Squinting across the room at nothing in particular, Hakoda tried very hard to think about why a talented college athlete would refer to her classmate-turned-tutor-turned-boyfriend-turned-fiancé as ‘Daddy’ during sex—and he tried to do so without imagining it happening.
“Do you think she as some sort of…disorder?”
“Koda, I don’t know—weird things that people call each other in bed isn’t exactly my specialty.”
“Did you try to WanShiTong it?”
“Not yet—but if I’m going to search for something like that, I’m using your phone!”
“Alright, go ahead,” he grumbled, fishing his phone out of his pocket and typing in the passcode: 3-4-5-3.
Handing it over to Kya, he watched her open his browser app, but quickly looked away when she began to type into the search bar. His morbid curiosity was growing by the second, though, and he couldn’t help but watch her out of the corner of his eye.
“Spirits,” she murmured, tapping, swiping, and scrolling, “That’s…kinky.” Kya read with wide eyes, the screen lighting up her face.
“Is it the kind of kinky that requires therapy?”
“Uhhhh…no…I don’t think so. It seems like a—oh, here’s a definition: ‘Daddy — a name referring to a male sexual partner, usually one taking a dominant role during intercourse.’ And here it is used in a sentence: ‘Spank me, Daddy. I’ve been a bad girl.’”
As Hakoda listened to his wife read, all he could think about was her down on all fours—head low and ass raised—looking over her shoulder at him as she said those exact same words.
“That’s…interesting…” he rasped.
“Sure is. To be perfectly honest…I kinda like it...” Kya tossed aside the phone and turned to look at him, her eyes hooded and lips curving into a smile. “…and I think that term could have very wide application. A mother-of-two in her late thirties might refer to her handsome, hunky husband as Daddy when she’s feeling particularly needy. Don’t you think?”
“Yeah, I do.” Hakoda pulled his wife onto his lap, giving her tush a brazen squeeze. “But only so long as the handsome, hunky husband and the mother-of-two agree to forget where they heard it in the first place.”
“I’ve already forgotten,” Kya murmured, rolling her hips against the stiffness in his jeans, “Although…you might be interested to know that WanShiTong said there’s a counterpart to Daddy.”
“Hmm? What’s that?”
Her hand darted out, fisting his collar and bringing their lips less than an inch apart.
“Mommy.”

When Hakoda frees some prisoners in the FN, he’s quite surprised to see his (captured, not deceased) wife and the ex-Fire Lady scissoring in one of the cells. Tell me, what does he do next?
-Bazongas Fan
Thank you for the ask, Bazongas Fan! Gonna shamelessly admit that I am a fan of bazongas myself 😎🤝😎
Now, why tell you…when I can show you? 😏
“Sure you want to go down there?” Bato whispered, glancing over the stolen prison blueprints again, “There’s a note here that says Cellblock M is for ‘the worst of the worst.’ Do we really want to find out who that is?”
Hakoda scratched his goatee and gave a long, wary look down the shadowy corridor ahead of them, stretching on and on like a great, dark maw. Torchlight danced wildly across the walls, and the wind wailed ghoulishly past their ears.
Considering they were deep in the heart of a mountainside prison, though, it probably wasn’t just the wind.
“Whoever’s down there is no friend of the Fire Nation. That doesn’t mean they’re our friend, either…but I’m willing to take my chances.” He clapped Bato on the shoulder and nodded back the way they came. “Make sure the others find their way out. I’ll meet you at the ship.”
“Good luck, then. Have fun bonding with ‘the worst of the worst.’”
Giving Bato a grim smile, Hakoda plucked a torch off the wall and forged ahead into Cellblock M. The dark yielded before him, as did scorpion-rats skittering out of his way, chirping and hissing indignantly.
But the wailing…the wailing only grew louder.
He peered into cells, unnerved at what might be waiting inside, only to find each one empty. Not just that, but it seemed like they hadn’t been lived in for quite some time—overrun with scorpion-rats, crisscrossed with cobwebs, and some partially flooded.
The prison garrison, half-manned and poorly equipped, was caught completely unaware by their ambush, so he had to consider that the residents of Cellblock M were transferred some time ago.
But that didn’t explain the wailing…which, the more he listened, sounded less like wailing and more like…groaning? Whining? Mewling? Thanks to the long, chasm-like hallway, he wasn’t certain.
Torch held high and club in hand, Hakoda took slow, measured steps, closing in on the source of the noise. By the time he reached the last cell, a voice in the back of his head was telling him that the strange mewling noise sounded…familiar. It was warped, too much so to be sure, but somehow, he knew that cadence…
Throwing open the door, the soft, sensual moaning suddenly stopped.
“We already told the other guards to go stick their fists up their arses. If you think you’re the exception, then…”
The voice trailed off as Hakoda stepped inside, the light of his torch reflecting off a pair of golden eyes…and illuminating a pair of very naked women.
“I’m not a guard,” he replied dumbly, trying very hard not to stare at the lovely, shapely figures lying across the bunk of the far side of the room, their legs intertwined in decidedly intimate fashion.
But then he did a double-take at the woman—or just her backside, really—who was turned away from him, mostly facing the wall, and it suddenly struck him why those moans had sounded so familiar.
“Kya?!”
As long as Hakoda lived, he would never forget the shape of that ass. The number of times he had squeezed, kissed, spanked, and buried his face between those perfectly toned cheeks was beyond counting—and when his wife looked over her shoulder, blue eyes already wide, he already knew it was her.
“Koda?! Spirits, is that really you?!”
Hakoda didn’t wait for her to disentangle herself from the pretty Fire Nation woman. Striding across the floor, he cupped her face and brought their lips together, feeling the warmth of her mouth for the first time in years. Kya hummed and purred and looped an arm around his neck the way she always did when she really wanted him, which made his trousers stiff in a matter of seconds.
“I thought you were dead,” she gasped, eyes hooded and hazy, “The Sea Ravens…after they took me, their captain said…he told me…”
Their lips collided again, and Hakoda palmed a breast, reacquainting himself with how its pleasant weight felt in his hand. He was vaguely aware of the the two prisoners grinding against each other, but the pressure of Kya’s hand on his crotch distracted him.
“I wasn’t sure if I’d ever see you again,” he sighed, sliding his torch into a slot near the top bunk. “But I’m glad to see that you haven’t been lonely.” He didn’t mean to glance over at the Fire Nation woman, but his wife still noticed.
Kya blushed, gesturing to her cellmate.
“Ursa, this is my husband, Chief Hakoda. Koda, dear, this is Lady Ursa…the Firelord’s ex-wife.”
“The Firelord’s ex-wife?!?!” She looked like royalty, no doubt—high cheekbones, full lips, and flawless ivory skin—but why she was in a secret island prison, locking legs with Kya, was more than Hakoda could guess at the moment. “It’s…uh…it’s a pleasure…your…er…your ex-highness.”
Ursa just smiled coyly, like she’d practiced the introduction a thousand times, and held out her hand for him to take.
As he lifted it to his lips and left a kiss on her dainty knuckles, he could just make out Kya’s soft, excited whimper.
“The pleasure is all mine,” Ursa said, looking him up and down in a way that made his trousers even tighter. “I’ve heard quite a lot about you. And from what your wife has told me…there’s quite a lot of you to hear about.”
Kya giggled, her eyes dark and hooded, and Hakoda got the feeling that he had been a very active topic of conversation between the two prisoners, especially when they were in such a position as they were now. All the more reason to get back to the ship—and his cabin—sooner rather than later.
“We can talk on the way, but I think it’s best if we get moving. The fleet is docked a quarter-mile down the coast, and the men will be waiting.”
Hakoda turned to gather up their clothes, but Kya caught his wrist, pulling him back around to face her.
“You’re kidding me, right?” she huffed, looking almost offended.
“No…no, I’m not. You don’t want to stay, do you?”
“Of course not! But Koda, sweetie, I’ve gone six years without you inside me—do you expect me to wait any longer?”
Before he could argue, Kya lifted Ursa’s leg and maneuvered around to kneel on the edge of the bunk. Sticking out her bum, she gave it an inviting wiggle and promptly lowered her mouth to taste the Firelord’s ex-wife.
Hakoda hadn’t forgotten why he always lost arguments with Kya. She had a way with words, but the power of her body language was simply too much for him.
“Alright,” he said, shrugging off his parka, “But remember…it’s been six years for me, too. Don’t expect a marathon.”

Ok but imagine a Kya Lives AU where Suki befriends the Boiling Rock’s resident ‘Prison Mom’ and they grow dumpling weeds together and swap corny jokes and talk about how Water Tribe fellas are 🥵 and then one day Kya says, “Would it be weird if I set you up with my son sometime?? You two would really be cute together 🤔😏” and Suki’s like, “Sorry 😬 I’m kinda involved with this guy named Sokka” and Kya is just 🤯😯🤩
(Later when Sokka and Hakoda show up to the Boiling Rock and see Suki and Kya, they both have the exact same heart-eyes reaction 👇🏽)

The Gaang as college students, because I am too pretentious not to throw in my two cents on this:
Sokka - Plans out his daily schedule for the entire semester after the first day of class. Still turns in assignments at 11:59 p.m. sometimes. Crams all his studying into the last 37 minutes before an exam. Says whacky (but lowkey brilliant) stuff during class. Shares inside jokes with professors. Gets straight As because he’s a certified genius.
Katara - Shows up to class fifteen minutes early. Writes down every word that comes out of the professor’s mouth. Spends every possible second in office hours until she gets kicked out. Turns in assignments at least a week before they’re due. Hosts bi-weekly study groups. Gets straight As through sheer force of will.
Aang - Shows up late to class pretty much every day. Class clown but doesn’t realize it. Always forgets to format his papers in double-spaced, 12-point, Times New Calderan font. Half his professors hate him, the other half love him. Knows the name of literally everyone on campus. Always brings snacks to Katara’s study group.
Suki - Big jock energy. Wears a backwards baseball cap and her BSSU Volleyball sweatpants to every class. Gets good grades, but inexplicably starts getting Cs for a semester. Athletics department assigns Water Tribe Husband Material as her tutor. Starts dating Water Tribe Husband Material. Grades return to normal. Mission accomplished.
Toph - Doesn’t attend class. Doesn’t do assignments. Doesn’t show up to exams. Doesn’t participate in group projects. Doesn’t answer professors’ emails. Still gets Cs because there are way too many buildings on campus named “Beifong Family Hall.” Joins Katara’s study group for the snacks and camaraderie.
Zuko - Stuck in an endless cycle of: a) trying really hard at school, b) not doing as well as he wanted to, c) giving up and doing even worse, d) convincing himself he just needs to try harder. Constantly compares himself to his sister. Eventually gets his grades up to Bs, thanks to both Katara’s study group and his mom emailing professors on his behalf.
Azula - Stares professors dead-in-the-eye all through class to establish dominance. Gets perfect grades in the courses she deems important (physics, chemistry, math, history). Skips classes she deems frivolous (art, literature, philosophy). Professors give her A’s anyway. Has been known to sabotage rival group projects.
Mai - Sits in the back of class and never speaks a word. Tries her best to make sure no one knows her name. Gets up and walks out of class when called on by the professor. Only participates in group projects when forced (except when Ty Lee is there). No one knows what her grades are like because she never bothers to check them.
Ty Lee - Doodles flowers and unicorns and rainbows in her notebook during class. Raises her hand all the time anyway. Is actually really smart but pretends to be ditzy so fratboy simps will do her homework. Changes majors at least twice a semester but always schedules electives with Mai. Occasionally gives group project presentations while in a handstand.
BONUS NOT-SO-SFW BELOW THE CUT!
Hakoda - Not a college student. Attends Ba Sing Se University’s Parents’ Weekend. Is reminded of the squalor in which the average college male lives. Meets Suki. Decides that she is the coolest human being to ever live. Sneaks away from party with wife. Revisits secret corner of library where their first child was conceived. History repeats itself.
Kya - Not a college student. Attends Ba Sing Se University’s Parents’ Weekend. Is reminded of the squalor in which the average college male lives. Tries to convince Katara not to study on weekend nights. Somehow finds herself in a very familiar corner of the library. Accidentally ensures that she will be attending at least one more Parents’ Weekend.

ATLA Characters Commenting on Their Relationships
…but in Clickhole interview quotes.
(I’m so sorry for this, but Discord made me post it…NSFW below the cut.)
Katara (or Mai), on handling the Firelord in the sack:
“Handle him? I don’t have to handle him. That’s why I bring rope.”
Zuko, on handling the Fire Lady in the sack:
“Toph, if you’re reading this, stop selling those metal toys to my wife! She isn’t using them on herself!”
Sokka, on his wedding night with Suki:
“I would like you to imagine a tree trunk passing through a keyhole. Most folks would say that there’s no way it could fit, but they’d be wrong. With the power of love—and lots of prep—anything is possible.”
Suki, on her wedding night with Sokka:
“He said the thing about the tree trunk and the keyhole, didn’t he? Well that’s complete nonsense. It was more like an Unagi trying to swim down a sink drain. But thank Kyoshi that boy can use his mouth. He could probably lace up my gloves with his tongue.”
Hakoda, on reuniting with Kya in the Boiling Rock:
“So I was out in the prison yard minding my own business when I overheard some guy say, ‘Damn, who knew Prison Mom had enough cake to feed a whole village?’ And in that moment, I just knew she was alive. There’s only one woman with that much cake, and it’s my wife.”
Kya, on reuniting with Hakoda in the Boiling Rock:
“Over the six years I spent locked up in the Fire Nation, I eventually became the Boiling Rock’s de facto ‘Prison Mom.’ The other prisoners came to me for advice, counsel, and mediation. They saw me as a source of compassion and humanity—someone they could look up to in a hellhole of cruelty and amorality…and then what happens? My hot himbo husband and that absurdly thick [redacted] of his show up on the trolley, and the next thing I know, I’m on my back underneath the cafeteria tables getting my [redacted] [redacted] and [redacted] [redacted] by Hakoda. We were both making up for lost time, but he literally [redacted] in my [redacted] when he could’ve just [redacted] in my mouth instead. So why in [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] was he surprised when I missed my next period??? I’ve been praying to Tui that Sokka and Katara don’t do the math on when their twin siblings were conceived. If they do, my big-[redacted] husband can explain it to them. But anyway, that sort of tarnished my ‘Prison Mom’ image. Sorry…did I answer your question?”
