PRESENTING ME AND @11x13kyle's FIRESIDE CHATS WITH KYLE AND ERIC AKA NICHE INTERNET MICROCELEBRITY AU:

cartman and kyle host a podcast called fireside chats with kyle and eric that’s basically just red scare, cartman is dasha and kyle is anna

they're constantly beefing with each other on twitter and some people are convinced it's staged to promote the show but kyle just hates cartman That Much

a majority of their listeners are just there for the occasional mention of their batshit childhood experiences amongst all the terrible political takes

like "umm i don't wanna hear this insane opinion on al gore i want to know more about how you guys swear that he tried to get you to help him kill manbearpig when you were 8"

fans wonder if these events are true or if they're enabling each other's schizophrenia

cartman is always saying the worst reactionary things while kyle's takes are deceptively normal until he hits them with one that makes listeners go hey WHAT?

kyle resents being called a reactionary but cartman LOVES it, wears the label like a badge of pride

there is CONSTANT discourse about whether or not cartman's antisemitism is ironic or not, with the reasoning "why would kyle be friends with him if it was genuine," and kyle regularly takes to twitter to say "IT IS NOT IRONIC."

kyle peaks the mic multiple times an ep yelling at cartman, says they'll edit it out in post, never gets cut because neither of them can edit

reddit posts go up are after every episode giving timestamp warnings for when kyle gets super loud

cartman has a christian music era, gets tradcath allegations and does little to discourage them

there are people who rpf ship kyman. cartman knows about this and tweets at fans asking them to send him fic recs

secretly jacks off to them

has a bit where he gives a shout out to his favorite kyman fic of the week and kyle breaks the mic every single time screaming at him

he posts unbelievably cringy "ironic" thirst traps to his instagram story at night and "ironic" drag pictures but the outfits and makeup are too good to be a joke

he also posts pictures of butters in bed with like bites on his neck to brag about getting hot tail but it's also just as unsexy

this is how he accidentally comes out, he was so distracted by the need to flex that he forgot he's still trying to beat the gay allegations

the "ironic" kyman fic jokes stop being funny

butters is adam friedland and kenny is the girl he cheated with

the butters show is cohosted with dougie and part of the alt right pipeline

stan is kyle's offline boyfriend in a B list rock band and wears fireside merch on stage sometimes

this includes the isis shirts which he swears up and down he didn't know were isis shirts

deeply apolitical by choice so whenever kyle talks to him about podcast stuff he nods along like whatever you say honey

he still listens to it he just tunes out of the political talk

the day his fans find out he's gay is the biggest day for them since his 2021 single hit the hot 100

everyone analyzing his old lyrics like oh my god. this was about a MAN. it all makes sense.

kenny is a twitter microceleb and socialite, much like with cartman controversy is part of the brand

gained thousands of followers over the butters cheating discourse

thirst tweets about kyle and they're secretly unironic

comes on fireside and rates youtubers he's slept with, kyle is disgusted and cartman is delighted

chapo trap house is craig and those guys

so here’s the thing, i was trying to get logged back into my wendytestabrat page a couple weeks ago, but ig wouldn’t let me and i was like damn bc ALL MY OLD RANTS AND ANALYSES (MY ORIGINAL ONES) WERE GONE FOR GOOD. but then i just remembered that i actually saved all my old rants in a google doc a longass time ago right before i disabled the page. so get ready ima be posting some of my VINTAGE south park, kyman, wendy, & stendy rants on here that were from 2020 - early 2021. which i’m glad af abt bc i’m tired of writing new kyman shit rn so at least i can still keep feeding ya’ll with content. so from now on if the post says (from the vault) it’s the old vintage shit.

basu's stenny week fics for 2021!! they're all adorable so you should just go for the whole thing tbh. that being said my faves out of those are:

Right in Front of You - stan feeling misplace at a halloween party since he's no longer dating wendy

Some Things Have Changed - the boys form a band and things are a little messy

and also, The Weight - this one's Kyman/Stenny multichapter and the stenny front starts a little slow but it's so good.. I've returned to this one like 3875345 times cuz I also read it almost a year before basu ever posted. it's so.. heartfelt and painful at times and aagh. seriously my fav stenny of hers and she knows! meanwhile kyman are being insufferable the entire time and it's the ONLY kyman depiction tbh. I seriously built so many of my headcanons over this (this one's rated M!!)

and a couple of others I also liked and are sadder:

See You Later, Kenny - LexisGrey - really touching and sad but also bitterweet! I won't say too much so I won't ruin it

You Can't Have Us Both - DayDreamingIsMyHobby - this one's just painful but it's the good kind. you can sorta guess from the title-- (also rated M)

Why do you think k2 isn't popular anymore?

hi anon! I love to talk so I'll answer this but I'll preface it by saying that although I'm not new to South Park, I'm newer to its fandom. I joined in like 2021 and by that point k2 had already fallen out of favor! before that I just observed it peripherally.

I think it's probably for a few reasons.

of the three main 4 ships for Kyle, it's obvious why k2 is the least popular of the lot. the other two have popular shipping tropes built in (best friends and rivals). there's also not a lot of canon moments to point to, you know, k2 doesn't have a "Guitar Queer-O" or a "Crack Baby Athletic Association" or whatever, really, whereas style and kyman have several such episodes. like I guess you have "Jewbilee" but a lot of people write off those early seasons. (and you have the Mysterion trilogy... to ME. pivotal k2 moments)

and I could end it there because that explains it for the most part but you're right. I think there was a time k2 was more popular than kyman at least (style was always reigning champ until creek took the crown!!!).

I personally believe that fandom (in general, not specifically SP) in recent* years has developed this sort of obsession with Ships Becoming Canon and that some ships are More Canon and therefore More Correct than others which has throttled both crackshipping and multishipping.

like idk there were obviously ship wars (nasty ones!) and OTPs in the 00s and 2010s, but it felt like people were more open to imagining the possibilities and potential between characters who may not have had much (or any) interaction, based solely on their personalities. there's a lot to say about the evolution of fandom as a whole but that's not your question.

so people have kind of settled on their one ship per character and that's it. most Kenny ships have been snuffed out by something or other (fitting) except for one. and that's bunny. and because it's got that one episode, it's now the Most Correct choice for him.

sorry you asked about k2 and I turned this into another complaint about the loss of Kenny biking :''( anyway, I think the appeal of k2 is the potential. you also can't approach it the same way you do style or kyman which I do think has stifled its popularity. this post, despite the broken links, is one of my favorite explanations of their fandom potential that also keeps in mind that we're working within the confines of what we're given. that is to say, South Park doesn't exactly lend itself to this sort of overwrought thinking but we all do it anyway.

it's not dead tho. plenty of people do still ship it and love it!! and I hope you support the @k2-fanzine when it comes out. but yeah you're right, it's lost steam and there's more reasons than what I've listed but I talk too fucking much.

*and by recent, I mean recent! I reblogged this list of character and ship weeks from the far off year of 2019 that @6ftkyle found while deep diving his old SP blog. look at all that!

anyway you should ask my bestie @6ftkyle these questions. he's the k2 guy. I'm actually a kyman truther but I think Kenny's gonna catch his mans Kyle in his fall from grace from their inevitable divorce.

#there's also a lot I could say about kenny as a character both in the show and in fandom #and that people aren't exactly sure what to Do with him #and people includes Matt and Trey #he was created for a bit that's no longer utilized #and compared to the other three and even Butters there is significantly less development for him as a character #so you have to fill in a lot of blanks #which in ye olde fandom made him extremely easy to ship and imo still does #but what do i know #askskk

Dear Kyman Week followers.

If you've been observant, you might have noticed that Kyman Week hasnt been happening like usual this year. The reasons to this are many - mainly that the admins has been busy with irl stuff, as well as other circumstances. But in the end, this has lead to little to no planning happening at all, hence Kyman Week not happening at the same time as it usually falls.

At any other circumstances, this would mean giving up on this year. However, both admins are still interested in making Kyman Week happen, just at a later date.

However, we dont know if you guys feel the same.

Is there interest in Kyman Week potentially being arranged at a later date? (a hypothetical date at the moment is August 1-7th, seeing as people would need time to draw for the prompts)

This is mainly a interest check to see if Kyman fans are still interested in making this week happen.

WELCOME BACK TO OUR FOURTH ANNUAL EDITION OF KYMAN WEEK!

Kyman Week is an appreciation event for every kyman shipper out there that will take place between 1st to 7th of August.

Just like last year, this edition will be very special because we’re having 13 prompts for the entire week! That means 2 prompts to choose between per day! Those two prompts are based in two running themes alongside the other: Canon Alternative Universes and Touch & Love. They aren’t obligatory to use together as they are independent prompts, but if you want to combine them please feel free to do so!

The shippers can create any form of fanwork based on their interpretation of the prompts, it can be edits, fanfic, cosplay, fanart… anything! Creativity is the key!

The intent is to share your love for the ship and to have fun of course, even the fans who don’t participate will be able to enjoy the new content, everybody wins (˘⌣˘ ) ♡

The works will be reblogged on this blog for each one of the days and at the end everyone that did something will be on a thank you post linking to their blogs with special attention to the ones that did something for all of the days! We also have a special gift for those who complete all the days.

To participate you just have to post your work with the theme of the corresponding day and mention this blog or use the #kymanweek or #kymanweek2021 tag so it’s easy to find it.

Here are the descriptions of the prompts, under the read more cut.

Day 1: Hand Holding / The Fractured But Whole

Kyle and Cartman have been at each other’s necks since the beginning of time yet somehow the idea of holding hands seems the most insane of them all. Will they manage to intertwine their fingers together or will they get too embarrassed for that?

OR

How do the Coon and the Human Kite feel about each other? They’re on the same side, after all.

Day 2: Forehead Touching / Stick of Truth

Touching foreheads is a pretty intimate gesture where both sides touch each other’s forehead with their own. How would it happen with Kyle and Cartman?

OR

Cartman is the Grand Wizard King and Kyle is the High Jew Elf King Kyle. They lead different factions and have been rivals for as long as they can remember…or are they?

Day 3: Headpats / Crack Babies Athletic Association

Head patting can be done playfully or just to tease the other person. However, it is indubitable that it denotes fondness. Between Kyle and Cartman, who would pat the other’s head?

OR

Our favorite rivals form an unlikely alliance in the quest to get easy money. Turns out, despite being formidable enemies, Kyle and Cartman are even better when they work together. Is that all there is to it, though?

Day 4: Cheek Smooch / Baseball

How would Kyle or Cartman take it if the other kissed him in the cheek? Would it be a practical joke or something more?

OR

Kyle has observed Cartman has good coordination and sharp reflexes, which makes him fitting to be a catcher. What else is happening between these two when they play baseball?

Day 5: Confession / Ass Burgers

Feelings that have been held back for so long, words that they’d never thought they would be uttering to each other. How would Kyle and Cartman confess their love for the other?

OR

After Kyle dumps Stan for being depressed, Cartman and him start a business, born out of the admiration Kyle has for the burgers Cartman makes. Is this the beginning of a new chapter for the boys?

Day 6: First Date / Kyley-B & Bad Irene

Kyle and Cartman have already acknowledged they have feelings for each other, they even know the other feels the same way. Now it’s time to do something about it, to have their first date. Will it be fantastic or a disaster?

OR

Kyley-B is the rudest, trashiest version of Kyle and Bad Irene is Cartman’s slutty persona that he made for their wrestling show. What would happen if these alternative selves of the boys met?

Day 7: Free Day

It’s the final day of the week! Was there something you felt like you couldn’t include in the prompts you wanted to do? Now is the time to show it.
