Dottler Facts
Tumblr media
(Art by Kyoko Umemoto)
-The scientific name for Dottler is "Macula Praedica" which translates to "Spot prediction"
-Dottler's name comes from dot, but also refers to the Doppler Effect. The doppler effect is the increase or change of a light, sound, or other waves. An example of this would be how things get louder when closer to you, but quieter when farther away from you
-Dottler even use the Doppler effect to sense the weather and what it'll be
-They don't have eyelids, so they developed a special hard layer around their eyes to protect them from dirt (similar to goggles). These goggles help enhance their eyesight
-If you have a Dottler, they're pretty easy to care for. They don't move much and prefer to stay where they are and don't require much food or water
-After evolving, please let them rest. They're tired from all the energy they put into evolution
-Dottler's shell is actually very tough and feels like thin medal
-Like Blipbug, their feelers are still very sensitive. Luckily, they're not all over their body, so you don't have to worry about over stimulating them when handling them

-Dottler also don't sleep much since they're putting all their energy into evolution (sounds tiring and boring tbh)
-Because they don't move much and their spots can glow, many trainers will use them as a flashlight or nightlight
-There was a radar toy made of then in the 1930s. It basically would bump into things and move with its "radar" (it was a stupid toy)
-Without their shell, Dottler have tiny blue fuzz on their bodies. They're also really fat and circular

Today's BUG POSTING is my final BEST BUG: Pewwy, my Forretress! 🪲💥💥💥
Tumblr media
(//Art by Kyoko Umemoto for the TCG!)
Pewwy's the coolest, most heavily-armored bug-type you've ever met. (Unless you've met an Escavelier, in which case, I'm super jealous!)
Most of you guys probably think of Forretress as "that guy that explodes". You'd be right! But Forretress do so much more than explode! First up, they've got crazy mimicry skills as a Pineco! Everyone tried to tell me "bro, that's a Grass-type" when I was a kid. But I knew better! I saw my bug bro taking Ice-type hits like a champ! And secondly, Forretress are great at clamping down to protect themselves! Especially when you try to take 'em to the vet for a yearly checkup!
Pewwy here makes a great deadlift weight, coming in at a whopping 126 kg! Not to brag or anything. But he's also hella cool and secretive! Don't you wanna know what's under that shell?! Because I sure do! If only there were a Mega Forretress to answer that question...
