The biggest advantage that Zabdel has is that his Puerto Rican and Puerto Ricans, pretty much dominate the urban music industry. I mean Dominicans are up there, and Cubans aren’t far behind. Unfortunately there aren’t a lot of Ecuadorians in urban music, so unless Chris starts singing in a Caribbean way, I think just being Ecuadorian might hurt him a little bit. Simply because we’re not used to hearing Ecuadorian singing in music. Recently Argentina has been taking over and Columbia has been having some artists for a good while along with Mexico, so I’m curious to know what way he goes in his like accent.
Thank you for giving me this point of view! Being from Aotearoa/New Zealand I'm just not used to these distinctions in Spanish language music, but of course when it is explained to me it makes perfect sense. There are regional differences in music over here as well.
Do you think that Chris may have picked up some influences in his time with CNCO (not just from the other chicos, but from all the acts they have worked with) & that this might help? I would so much like to see Chris succeed!
I don't think I have listened to any Argentinian music at all! (I'll have to check my Spotify lists!) Feel free to recommend some everyone!

Well this was interesting - & in English. Among other things Jaime/Jae talks about the La Banda audition process, which was more extensive than I realised. I did know there had to have been at least two interviews, but it sounds like there were way more than that.
Jaime is obviously choosing his words very carefully.

Something that baffles me every single International Women's Day, is how different it seems to be in other countries.
I see joke posts on twitter and here, I see the way a lot of people take it lightly, it amazes me how different things are, how here in Mexico I don't see a single joke. I see angry women, brave women, tired women. I myself am all of those.
I'm so tired of not being able to live a normal life. On top of the everyday violence that occurs, I have to live with the fear of being killed for being a woman, for being femme presenting. I have to deal with men looking at me when I wear skirts or dresses, of men telling me to shut up, of men not trusting my knowledge, of men following me home, cat-calling me on the streets, following me all the way through different trains. I had to live through a manipulative and abusive relationship when I was just 15 years old. I have to live with an eating disorder due to societal expectations. I have to check my mirrors when I'm driving in case someone is following me. I have to tell my friends that I got home safe and I'm always waiting for them to text back. I have to deal with the impotence of being helpess when other women I know are going through similar stuff.
I'm tired of our government and authorities calling us hysterical, whores, telling us that we asked for it, that it was our fault for deciding to live a life. That it was out fault for being born in a country that doesn't have the minimum respect for our lives.
On this International Women's Day I'm angry, I'm furious and overall, I'm here if anyone feels the same way I do, know that I share your feelings and I will try my hardest to understand.
And for my final message, I just want to say:
¡Libertad para todas las morras de México hasta Palestina!
The three horsemen of animal rescue children’s shows (also beloved by older people <3). Most of the Octonauts and WK descriptions came from that one post comparing the crews.
I grew up with all of these, though two of these are far more well-known than the other. Idk if all of the statements are accurate, but at least that’s how I describe the shows.
Bird Squad is so wack (committing grand theft blimp for frick’s sake), it deserves more acknowledgement and a second season. Yeah, it predated the other two shows (tho not the OG Octonauts books). Let me know if you recognize the show, because I’d like the fandom to grow. (We’re a little lonely)
Octonauts do be getting it’s 8th season (please I need the rest of Season 5, too) and Wild Kratts with 7th and they’re all fun.
