DEATH AND STATUES
During the war, in October 1941, the pro-Nazi Vichy government decreed that statues "without artistic or historical importance" could be torn to pieces by the Germans in order to reuse the metal.
In December, the photographer Pierre Jahan, taking considerable risks, photographed them, piled up in a courtyard in Paris, in the 12th arrondissement, ready to leave for the foundries.
Jean Cocteau was so enthusiastic about those photographs that he decided to publish them in a book, writing the text himself.
Just over a hundred pages, the illustrated volume was published at the end of the war, in 1946, and republished several times. It is one of the most beautiful, saddest and most engaging photographic books ever made, just look at the photos of the dying alligators or the discouragement of the young orphan of the other statues of his family. I don't think it has ever been published in other countries. It can be found online at decent prices. There is also a first edition with a dedication by Cocteau for 1,200 euros.

Malleus & La Mort
Here is the finished drawing; I enjoyed making it<3.
Just as I mentioned, I was going to explain something about this OC that appears behind Malleus. This female character doesn't have a specific name; she is simply the representation of "Death" ("La Mort" in French) in this alternate universe based of Twisted Wonderland.
While she doesn't interact directly with the characters, she does engage with some of them in a way that shows her interest, but it's more about guiding them to the afterlife.
To make things more interesting, she is intrigued by Malleus, but it's always challenging for "La Mort" to take those of Malleus's species. However, her interest extends beyond Malleus; "Mort" shows interest in other characters to guide them, including Yuude (My Yuu). However, no one can see her... at least until the moment she completes her work.
A way to better understand the interaction of this OC is to give you an example from a beautiful French musical, "Roméo et Juliette: de la Haine à l'Amour" from 2001.
Postscript, if you enjoy musicals, I recommend "Roméo et Juliette"; it's very beautiful<3 Besides, I'll be incorporating some references from that musical into my Twisted Wonderland fanfic.
In the following days, I might upload some attempts at manga/comics.
