What fans say:
Fantastic Planet:
This movie is completely insane but it's SO cool. Truly original and beautiful artwork, an insanely interesting concept for an alien planet, and it's full of interesting philosophical and ethical debate. It can be a little bit harrowing but it's also funny in places.
Kirikou and the Sorceress:
This movie is what happens when you don't talk down to children. I remember watching this as a kid and being completely enraptured, I could tell there was a lot going on thematically even though I didn't fully understand everything. Its structure is really interesting, it's almost episodical, which works really well for a movie inspired by folk tales and oral tradition.

Anomalisa:
It's psychological horror/drama/comedy. With puppets.
