Happy Labour Day
Heaven needs a union. (So does hell).
Think about it: season one showed us the power structures of heaven and hell. All the top angels and demons.
Talk about abusive managers...
But season 2 introduces Muriel, Shax, and Furfur.
If heaven is a bureaucracy, it must be full of Muriels: Lower class angels just like them who are kept ignorant of anything on Earth.
And, sure, Aziraphale has been recruited to be the supreme Archangel (a title that sounds like it has more power than it does), but he's going up there with a headful of very human ideas. Like labour unions. And community. And the strength of having other people on your side.
This is an angel who understands solidarity! That's his biggest reason for taking Jimbriel in. It's why he's so kind to Muriel.
And I have to agree with Aziraphale on one point: if the world is about to end, it is selfish for them to go off together and leave behind every (other) thing they love to be destroyed in the name of an ineffable plan. Maybe their contributions to stopping the last apocalypse were minor, but maybe they still mattered enough that it would have gone differently without them.
They have to do something. Now that they know the second coming is happening, they can't just fuck off like Gabriel and Beelzebub and leave Earth to be destroyed.

Somehow the MET Gala aka a spectacle meant to highlight how rich celebs use their money "creatively" being on Labour Day aka the day meant to celebrate the worker and the workers' movement is so incredibly American

As anarchists, we think that human beings shouldn’t be defined by the surplus value they bring to capitalism. Work should be the way to produce by necessity and not to create new needs. Work must be organized so everyone can work less, and for means other than profitability.
