i’m white, i don’t play white fcs bc i understand the importance of diversity. but sometimes i look at rps like laguna, who said they were having a “bipoc only” acceptance day, who accepted 5-6 asian fcs the same day. and i just think its so unrealistic in terms of their plot. it is not xenophobic or racist to say that nothing about a reality show is realistic with a majority asian casting. i wish it were bc we need more diversity on the screen but it feels so unrealistic when the only selfies some of these fcs from newer groups have is from the stairs of inkigayo on a beach based rp. i dont get why these muns can’t just play bipoc or literally any other ethnicity with realistic, useable material.

playing more bipoc faces is so very important and we as a community need to be doing it more, i’m a bit confused on the accepting bipoc fcs only day then action afterwards if someone would like to elaborate on that. and i understand posting pictures and stuff that conflict with the plot but i’m gonna stop you there because this just went south fast. you do not get to call for a specific number of a specific group of poc or deem it “weird”, 5-6 people is not a lot of people and is most certainly not a majority. i don’t know how many people are in that group but you saying that 5-6 is a “majority” and saying something about how that would be “unrealistic on a reality show” is actually incredibly xenophobic and racist actually. do you know how many different asian cultures there are and how big it is? it’s a continent.

Noosa Nest

The Noosa Nest project comprises the renovation alteration and extension to a three storey 1970’s building which was originally designed as a duplex and later converted to a holiday house.

The steep semi-rainforest site sits at the end of Laguna Bay. The original building including a large pool and surrounding deck structure have been carefully positioned around mature size callitris pine trees, a large eucalypt and Poinciana tree. These trees have been retained and remain a key feature of the renovation project.

The lower level of the original building was gutted and the existing concrete columns and floors slabs were retained. The upper level was removed except for the suspended concrete floor slab.

A key design consideration was to capitalise on stunning views to Noosa Main Beach, Laguna Bay and the hinterland at both levels. Large floor to ceiling slide away glass doors give the house a high level of transparency and an easy connection to outdoor living spaces.

A new parent’s bedroom retreat was added at tree top level and has a “Nest” like quality with panoramic views to Laguna Bay.

Adjustable vertical louvres, sliding slatted timber screens, sunhoods and large roof overhangs act as climate control devices.

External materials like black zinc cladding and timber boards have been used for low maintenance and to ensure the building is camouflaged with the forest environment when viewed from Noosa Main Beach.

What was the conceptual framework? The original building was a duplex design by Job and Froud Architects in 1970 and renovated by RP Froud in 1985 including the addition of a large concrete pool and associated deck structure. This building is not the typical lightweight timber framed beach house Job & Froud are recognised for rather a more heavy weight building made up of concrete column, concrete floor slabs and brick wall construction.

The conceptual framework was to build on Job & Froud’s foundation of maximising daylight and cross ventilation and positioning living areas to the north to take advantage of stunning views to Noosa Main Beach and Laguna Bay. The new entry has been relocated for this reason also. All new service areas are located to the south side of the building.

The existing core concrete structure was retained and a new external wall fabric was installed to reflect the use of internal spaces.
