Twirling his weapon in his hand momentarily, he points it to her, smiling wickedly as he one-ups her in response.

Left on your OC's doorstep is a large box, with an experimental weapon inside that no one actually knows what it does yet, stolen artifacts from about eight different cultures, and approximately thirty thousand credits of unknown origins.

Did they get any of these items legally? No. Do they care? Also no.

Indigo assesses the contents of the box, mutters something about how her parents would skin her alive if either of them were still breathing, and gets to work.

Should she be worried? Probably. Is she? ...Not really, actually. She's surprisingly calm about the whole thing. She grew up on Corellia, after all, legality isn't exactly her number one concern.

First things first, she scans the weapon to create a digital blueprint, downloads the blueprint to a thumb drive for safekeeping, and promptly buries the weapon right at the edge of her property line, underneath a row of crops so the tilled soil doesn't appear suspicious.

Then, she researches the various artifacts. She identifies one as Mandalorian - that one finds its place on a shelf by the mantlepiece, since it's pretty and technically could be hers. The rest she delivers to the nearest museum in an unmarked box, trusting that they'll make their way back to their rightful owners eventually. She can't in good conscience hold onto an artifact that isn't hers. Even the Mandalorian one is a risky link at best.

As for the credits... she keeps those. They could use the money. She deposits some into a digital account, using several smaller deposits to avoid anything suspicious, and keeps the rest secured in a hidden drawer for emergencies.

It's... a very bizarre gift, to say the least. And Hux is a little concerned at how efficiently she was able to coordinate it all without suspicion (and this is coming from a man with more than a few skeletons in his own closet). But hey, it's not the most illegal thing she's had to deal with (again, Corellia), and she's grateful for the gift.

here's the introduction of Captain Anvindr Grimmur from Hurricane!

Captain Grimmur was not happy. This came as no surprise. “What is the point of ordering against shore leave if these morons are going to sneak out for drinks anyway?” Laila glanced at the morons in question, Scott and Kane, hoping they’d come up with some kind of excuse beyond their love of alcohol. They said nothing. Laila sighed. Grimmur ignored them anyway. “And now you tell me that Tempest and her little band of second-rate pirates are here? Get out.” He glanced briefly at Laila. “See to it that they’re punished.” “I’ll see to it later, sir.” Scott and Kane shuffled from the room. Laila felt a little bad for them. They were friendly… they just didn’t have much brainpower, even between the two of them. The door shut behind them, and Laila said, “So, the Hurricane is here. Will we do something about it, sir?” “Fighting between crews is frowned on here, of course. Nevertheless… this is my chance to take back what’s mine.” “I thought we were going to sail to Eastport after this. To meet—” “Yes, yes. We can do both.” Laila nodded, still a little confused. “If Scott and Kane were careless, sir, Captain Tempest might have overheard something.” “‘Captain Tempest’,” he mocked. “Like she could ever be a real captain.” He toyed with the ring on a chain around his neck. Laila had heard mixed stories about it. She was trying her hardest to reserve judgement, but among the crew of the Marquess, the general opinion of Tempest wasn’t a polite one. No question she asked now would get her more answers, though. He continued, “We’ll wait for sundown, but no longer. In case my dear Captain Tempest did hear anything.” “Kings Cove isn’t small, sir. What if we can’t find the Hurricane?” “Those idiots would have seen where it is, naturally. Ask them.” They had said they’d seen the girl walking to and from the ship. “I hadn’t thought of that.” “Of course not.” He smirked. “You haven’t my dazzling intellect.”

hopefully you can see why i affectionately (heavy sarcasm) refer to him as "trash can extraordinaire". lovely guy.

NEED ELIAS VISITING HER AT WORK

“girl, your man is here,” the receptionist at the studio announced when she walked to the break room, “he’s got this sad grumpy dog look on his face.”

“yeah, he just looks like that,” she laughs before walking into the lobby.

elias is standing there with his hands shoved in his pockets, hat on his head as he looks around at the various contemporary decorations her boss insisted on having. laila quietly approaches elias, keeping her footsteps light before she’s close enough to wrap her arms around his waist.

“hey,” elias protests until he sees his girlfriends smiling face looking up at him, “hey, baby.”

“hi,” she laughs, moving her body so that she’s standing in front of him, “what brings you here?”

elias has his hands on her waist, the urge to let them slip just a little bit lower tempting him with each passing second. her too is hugging her chest so perfectly that elias can’t help but let his eyes wander, his fingers slightly pressing harder into her skin.

“just wanted to see my girl in her work uniform,” he smirks.

“you saw me in it this morning,” she playfully rolls her eyes.

“not for long, though. you took it off right after, remember?”

OC DESIGN ASKS. - Laila

texture: Does your OC favor any specific kinds of cloth or textures? Is there anything they can't wear or don't like? What sort of fabrics do they prefer?

I think that she likes things that are generally not form-fitting? Looser and better at concealing shapes; but that's just because she has never tried to make any of herself really stand out! She definitely likes "smoother" textures, anything with too much bulk tends to make her fur static-y. While she loves getting to touch super soft fluffy fabrics, they do not agree with actually. Resting on her body usually. She also tends to gravitate towards plain clothing, and isn't very adventurous with new shapes and textures.

wardrobe: How big is your character's wardrobe? Do they wear things threadbare, or can they afford new clothes often? Are they any good at mending and repairing their own clothing?

Honestly, she typically wears things until they are threadbare! She dabbles in trying to fix stuff, but mostly leaves it up to her parent to help. Her wardrobe has definitely expanded in more recent times; but she can't help gravitating back to her favorite things time and time again.

             Laila’s rage fit in the chat and in person had already happened. She’d probably just set gasoline to an already burning bridge with Blue. Laila felt something for the demi-god she’d not felt in a while for anyone--but what did that matter? The others were right, it was a pointless crush that would lead nowhere.

           Frank had banished Blue from seeing her again--&& Bippi was determined to slander her. So it was unlikely if not impossible for them to ever take that fleeting moment anywhere.
