Dēkla. The goddess of fate, Laima.

Laima is arguably the most prominent and well-known latvian pagan deity. She decides a person's fate from the moment they are born. In some folk songs she is said to cry over her duty, a trait no other god of fate has been recorded to share with her.

Dēkla is an another name Laima went by in the region of Courland. At first, it was thought that she was one of the three sisters of fate (a common motif in many indoeuropian religions), but no substantial evidence was found in favour of this theory in more recent years.

I decided to call her Dēkla, because her clothes were inspired by Curonian folk costume.

Things Laima did today:

First 10 mins, ordered an ale and a juice and mixed them together to drink it, to the innkeeper's horror.

Accidentally cast Light on a flower (my interpretation of me accidentally printing the cantrip card) and then somehow got a 19 perception (I'm upholding it was the flower) to see a guy approaching.

Performed with the bard (Laima's a dancer) to distract some goblins as we worked to get a Different bard's stolen instruments back, & did a DAMN good job of it (nat20 + 7 performance).

Threatened to break said 2nd bard's fingers if he tried to hit on her again (which was Very Effective).

Met a half orc lady at the wedding we were headed to and IMMEDIATELY fell in love & is volunteering to go on the hunt despite having No actual experience with hunting & despite having to give up the picnic and games for it. So she can spend time with the pretty half orc lady. Yup.

She is just a little lesbian doing little lesbian things and I love her for it.

i kinda ran out of room for these, but early laima, dievas and aldebaran. i think the first drawing of lauma was the page she first showed up on, same with velns.. but these two took longer to show up in the comic. laima obviously has changed the most since her original drawing, but i still really something about the hairstyle.  and of course aldebaran uh ended up very different, he looks so awkward here. LOL i didn’t really have a strong grasp on his personality yet at that point.
