this still from bride of frankenstein always gets me because it just captures their vibe perfectly. mary's ethereal charm and serious deadpan expression like she's on the office. byron with his hand on his hip, cock on full display, and the most dramatic collar ever. shelley with his legs crossed and his adorable wrinkled bow. how they kind of look like they could be trying to hold hands behind mary's back. truly an honorable contender for best geneva squad casting

Another ad for the Dungeon Hobby Shop in Lake Geneva with a dungeon cross-section by Tom Wham, in The Best of the Dragon, TSR, 1980. By this time the shop had moved out of the house at 723 Williams St. TSR gets the biggest font in the first cave, but many other contemporary companies are mentioned here.

Forever mourning the fact that Percy and Mary Shelley were trying to talk Lord Byron into living with them, Claire, and their children in 1818 at the famous Villa Pliniani on Lake Como to recreate their summer of 1816 vacation together at Villa Diodati on Lake Geneva. The plans died a sad death because the Shelleys failed to secure a rental contract & then the whole squad got into a fight because of the Byron/Claire breakup + custody battle... but just think… we literally almost had an intentional sequel to the Diodati/Frankenstein/Vampyre summer… just imagine what could have been…!

A tiny ad announces the new Monster Manual is in stock at the Dungeon Hobby Shop, TSR's own retail store below the company office in the house on Williams St (Dragon 12, February 1978). Tom Wham drew many of the shop's ads in Dragon, but the overall style and precise hatching make me think this one is by Dave Trampier.
