I鈥檓 already attempting to redesign my oc April, ward to Scrooge McDuck. I like her original design just fine but having to remember the floral patterned design on her dress can be tedious. I do want plan on finding an outfit, perhaps her adventure ensemble, that works with her braid. I liked that from her original design.
This new ensemble pulls inspiration from my childhood doll Kit Kittredge. I always loved the dolls 30s/40s era clothing. Her hair was chosen to fit the look of a proper young lady. April鈥檚 guardians, before Scrooge, weren鈥檛 raising a chaotic hooligan. The pine cone attached to her scrunchie pays tribute to one of her favourite activities, collecting them [pine cones].
April鈥檚 lamb stuffed animal, Mutton, was torn apart in, 鈥淭he Casablanca Caper.鈥 Though she later mended the lamb, while in Casablanca she was gifted a new stuffed animal as 鈥榯hank you鈥 from Scrooge McDuck. A Moroccan Caracal, this stuffed animal was named Casserole.

i never believed in a soft God. the one that kisses birthmarks onto babies and sends angels to watch sleeping children He is blond and white, like honey and milk and the baptist hospital gift shop sells statues of Him enthroned in pastel puffy clouds with roses on His cheeks. He calls me "lamb" with a voice like a grandmother's, He puts casseroles on potluck tables, and i never believed in Him. i do not know what hard God would look like but if i did, that knowledge would be my undoing. in the old bible, He is called "my sword" and "my shield" and that is how God is used today the shelter over the head the weapon on the hip to whom you raise your arms in self-defense only if you want them marked in blood forever. hard God knows that birthmarks are made by splitting skin cells. hard God knows that infants die for no reason in their cribs. He puts price stickers on pink statues of soft God, reminds me that lambs go to the slaughter, and doesn't let just anyone into the church function. He killed the man who taught me that even if i could not believe in a soft God, i could love like Him. hard God said "no other Gods before me" and He killed, slowly and painfully and publicly, the kind man who had believed so earnestly in a soft God.

LOVELY ORGANIC PRODUCE FROM OUR NEIGHBOUR TOM
These vegetables have just been picked and the life force is still with them. I adore both these Mediterranean vegetables as they symbolise all the countries we know and love.聽
I want to give you a wonderful recipe. It doesn't sound much but it is so good. You need at least three big aubergines, (four is better), a cup or two of home made tomato puree, a cup of freshly grated parmesan, a cup of fresh basil leaves and one large sliced fresh white buffalo mozzarella (If you are in Australia it has to be Yambuk mozzarella). Slice the aubergines lengthways into centimetre or slightly wider pieces, salt them liberally and leave to draw out the bitter juices for an hour. Butter or oil a deep oblong or rectangular casserole. Wipe the slices of aubergine with paper towels to remove the juice and some of the salt but do not wash them. Generously dredge each slice in a big flat dish of plain flour, then shake to remove excess and cook in olive oil on both sides for about three minutes on each side. Then remove and drain on paper towels. Do not overcook. I do mine in a great big electric frypan.聽
To assemble the dish, smear some tomato on the base of the casserole and put in the first layer of aubergine (about three slices), then more tomato, some parmesan, a few basil leaves and one to two slices of buffalo cheese. Add some black pepper and a tiny pinch of salt for each layer. For the next layer place the aubergine slices across ways in the dish so they they are at right angles to the bottom layer. For the next layer place the slices lengthwise like the first layer and so on for the successive layers. This is important. Keep repeating this until you have used all the aubergine. You should have five layers or more. Spread tomato puree on the very top and then all of the remains parmesan. Bake in a moderate oven, about 170-80 degrees, for one hour. Cut and serve a a tiered slice with with some roast lamb or other meat or by itself with heated, crunchy bread stick or roll as the hard bread with the soft unctuous nature of the dish provides a great mouth feel. You will love it!
