Is it an American autism/ND thing to understand non fluent English speakers better than fully fluent speakers, while also struggling to process and/or speak it yourself despite being a fluent speaker?
For example, I had a brief conversation with a customer at my work about our different items on the menu. Their English was very broken and I wasn’t able to understand them at the speaker (our speaker is old and busted) until they pulled up to my window, and then I could understand them perfectly. I have a lisp when I speak and explained all the different items we have the best I could, and they seemed very happy that I was eager to help them and understood what they were trying to say. A couple of my coworkers got annoyed that it was taking so long and complained about the customer, but it was actually both of us struggling to help each other that made it take so long, and I apologized on the customer’s behalf because it takes me longer to process speech and audio feedback (gotta love having cAPD too).
On the other hand, when I have average conversations with neurotypicals who are fluent and have lived here since their ancestors from the 1400s (mine arrived in the late 1700s-early 1800s), I often struggle to understand and respond even though I’ve known the language since I was a baby, and I’m hyperlexic.
For me personally, I think I can understand non fluent speakers better because their dialect and speech patterns cater to my autistic brain better than fluent speakers, and I somewhat understand how hard it is to process or speak it.
Is this a common autism/ND thing? And does this happen to autistics who speak other languages?

when i was a kid i used to think that objects that had several words as their name, or that people commonly refer to with several words (e.g. chest of drawers, diluting juice, glass of milk, cup of tea) were just one long word.
my brain didn't separate them. i was a teenager when i understood that "ches-a-draws" was "chest of drawers" because it's a chest with drawers in it.
or that "cuppa-tea" didn't just refer to have a drink in a mug. i used to say "cuppa-tea-coffee" because i didn't understand that you could also say "cup of coffee" and "cup of tea" separately.
also in my mind "diluting juice" was one word, "dilut-n-juice". only a few years ago i read it written down for the first time and realised that it's called that because you dilute it in water! makes so much sense!

Since I mostly communicate in English (since some years), my German [native language] degenerated increasingly.
Additionally, my English suffers as well, because I constantly switch between the languages in my mind - The bilingualism requires too much "brain power", and often I come up with mixed German-English word-gibberish. I don't even recognize I switch between the languages if I talk with a person who us unable to comprehend/speak English.
Additionally, when I construct my sentences far too many synonyms pop up in my mind - and too many options how to deliver my thoughts/put my thoughts into sentences occur simultaneously - which results in a kind of entangled soup clot - and I mix all these chains of thought together and it becomes utterly incomprehensible in the end.
What sort of phenomenon is that?
I know that my Working Memory is overloaded with all the junk of detail infos it receives from my Long-Term-Memory; And additionally my memory/ information processing becomes increasingly slow if the Working Memory is "approaching its limit". If my Working Memory is approaching its limit it is especially prone to errors. Then, due to the "error-correction loop" (I think it's a form of metacognition) it requires increasingly more time to process information. This, in (re)turn, feeds back to overchallenging the Working Memory additionally.

Language wall between pokemon and trainers
you know I have see a video yesterday of a American family that they adopt a cat and for almost two months they think the kitty is deaf but by a miracle they discover that in matter of fact their cat is from Spain, the cat only understands Spanish commands so they end learning a little of Spanish to make their cat know is love or just to call him to the bed. so I was thinking what if the pokemon ignores the trainer or just look at the wall no understand a heck of what their new trainer is saying ? Imagine the wonder trader pokemon or whatever you call it in the game you are and just
what is if not the medals but the accents or language that make a trade pokemon difficult to obey you (if you have trade by random and end with a overlevel pokemon ) or if you are too soon to pass the level limit to they obey you is because You are still learning with the pokemon how to understand one another ? Like that japonese Charizard don’t even know what you just say and you don’t now how to pronounce his own name so … this all a problem of language wall ? Slowly the pokemon will end understand what you want to say and you can also understand it, just imagine it for a moment think of that [insert name even say right] pokemon just totally lost because what he hear is no something they know or look familiar at.

Dogs may ‘picture’ objects in their minds, similarly to people
Researchers used EEG testing to measure brain waves in dogs and found evidence suggesting that dogs can differentiate between words for different objects. The study indicates that dogs may have the ability to understand words and their corresponding objects, similar to how humans do. This research sheds light on canine cognition and language learning, showing that dogs may have some level of language comprehension. The study highlights the unique communication abilities of dogs and other animals, providing insight into the evolution of language.

The fun part of my brain playing with language the way a parakeet plays with sound is I get to have some wild rides.
For some reason I like to start with the Steven Universe song "Giant Woman". Then I break and badger and genre swap and mashup until I... well, y'know, "play with them like dolls."
Giant Woman but it's got a dubstep drop right in the titular phrase and it's like "G-g-g-g-g-... GIANT WOMAN!"
Sometimes we wind up at "A Little Party Never Killed Nobody" from that Gatsby remake. But this time we're going to veer into "B-b-... Barbarian!" from Dave the Barbarian.
Heh. Barbarians. Raging. Yelling. Screaming.
Scream. Cream? Why are we at cream? Scream for ice cream?
Oh! Barbarian. Bavarian.
Bavarian Cream.
Bavarian Scream?
...
Barbarian... Cream?

We all know at this point that the name Astarion is connected to the word "star" (starry or little star).
But Larian decided that they wanted to go all in with the details and they delivered!
The flower you can place on his tomb in the final romance scene (which I think is such a cute and tender gesture and I love his reaction to it), seems to be an Ornithogalum umbellatum, a star-shaped white flower with six petals. Among the plant's many common names, there are summer snowflake, starflower, and star-of-Bethlehem.
Moreover, in the language of flowers, its meanings are related to trauma, mourning, and welcoming pain without repressing it.
According to Doctor Edward Bach (1886 – 1936), these flowers are "For those who find themselves in a state of great anguish due to situations that, in a given period, have caused so much unhappiness", and can be used to help with the aftermath of a trauma, the alleviation of pain and the mourning process.
Edit: every time I see an artist include this flower in their Astarion fanart my heart swells with joy. Love this community

How LLMs like ChatGPT can help with space exploration
It's crucial that we prioritize deploying advanced language models, like ChatGPT, on upcoming deep space missions. These models can significantly improve our communication with space probes and telescopes. By using emojis to summarize communications data and compressing it with LLMs, we can decrease the amount of data needed to transmit. This process works by squeezing more information into a smaller space, resulting in quicker and more efficient communication. This means we'll be able to gather more valuable information from the farthest reaches of our solar system.
Another remarkable feature of LLMs is their ability to understand alien languages better than humans. This means that they can potentially help us communicate with extraterrestrial life forms, which could be a significant breakthrough in our efforts to explore the universe. By using LLMs to decode alien speech, we could begin to establish communication with other civilizations and learn more about their cultures, technologies, and ways of life. This could lead to groundbreaking discoveries and insights that could change the course of human history.
In addition to their communication capabilities, LLMs can also help navigate hazards in space. By using emojis as prompts, operators on the ground can program LLMs to identify and avoid potential dangers, such as asteroids or debris. For example, a prompt like 🌠👀🛑 could instruct the LLM to scan for incoming meteorites and stop the spacecraft from moving forward if any are detected. This feature could greatly enhance the safety of deep space missions and help ensure the success of future endeavors.
