First fish of 2021. 🎣
Gym has me feelin good right now
Slightly older art from my first class in scientific illustration, the 3 species of bass commonly fished for (in the US at least). Largemouth, spotted, and smallmouth bass.
Personally love the colors and fight a smallmouth will put up, but I’m always a sucker for just how large and the variety of greens that can be seen on a largemouth depending on where they’re at.
caught this beauty right outside my front door! i love living on a pond.
this largemouth measured 20 inches and 2.5 pounds, a new personal best by a narrow margin. caught on a biospawn “vilebug” creature lure. wish i could’ve recorded this fish taking off after being put back in the water!
So we went out to one of his favourite spots on a nice September evening this year. It was really nice! He did the fishing, and mostly I sat and enjoyed the atmosphere. (And also crocheted a little.)
I also learned why largemouth bass are called LARGEMOUTH bass! Look at that mouth!
Also got this today “Bigmouth Forever” a classic film on the largemouth bass.
Photos from various trips to Tims Ford Lake in Tennessee this year.
Photos from a quick trip to Wheeler Dam to fish.
