After my first successful Sand Animation, I decided to go further and do something related to my ‘temporary’ theme path. Then, I decided to do something butterfly related.
Although, a butterfly lifespan is short but it has a great impact within those short days. One of which is POLLINATION.
POLLINATION is the act of transferring pollen grains from the male anther of a plant to the stigma of the female plant. This process helps the flowering plants to reproduce and it is carried out by a butterfly.
The Sand Animation below shows how:
1. A butterfly flies in a non linear manner.
2. A butterfly carry out the process of pollination. Thereby, transfers pollen grains from the male anther to the female stigma.
However, the process wasn’t purely a sand animation process because I had to so some laser cutting on paper before I could start the animation.
First, I sketched out the positions of a butterfly when it flies with a flower and I sent it to the computer. Then, I outlined it using the Adobe Illustration app. After outlining, I expanded the outline then gave it a trace using the tracing tool provided. I further into savings it.
Afterwards, I opened the same sketches in the silhouette application and did all necessary sizing before sending it to the laser printer. The output of the laser printer are those below.
Highly cost-effective Multi-function 3-in-1 (without fax) with ADF laser printer. Fast and high definition printing up to 23ppm (Letter) in black and white.
